He lunges for me as soon as he’s out of the water and a squeal of my own slips through my lips before I take off on a sprint. Excitement and adrenaline hits me hard when I look back to see him actually running after me.
Holy shit he’s chasing me, and he looks really mad. Raging mad. Picking up my pace I run into the living room.
“You’re dead, Lorianne!” His words make me look back again and I squeal again when I see how close he is to catching me.
“Shit!” Gage curses when I suddenly feel something hard under my feet and everything after that is as if it's in slow motion. I feel myself slipping and falling for the second time today!
“Ouch!” I yelp when I land ass first on the hard unforgiving floor.
Groaning, I fall back on my back and stare at the ceiling. I cant believe just how unlucky I am!
“Still as annoyingly clumsy, I see.” Gage says, standing over me with a smirk lining his lips. “Come on,” he continues, extending his hand for me to take.
A smirk of my own forms when I reach out to take his hand and yank hard on it. The unexpected pull makes him tumble over and fall right on top of me. I don't know what the hell I was thinking doing it because I’m now starting to see what a horrible idea this was. Gage’s wet hard body is now sprawled on top of mine and he’s staring into my eyes in a way that makes me too hot in forbidden places.
“Now why did you have to go and do that?” He asks in a whisper and all I can think about is how I want to taste his lips as I stare at them.
No, I don't want to kiss him. I don't want to kiss-
My internal mantra is cut off when soft lips crash hard on mine. The kiss is rough carnal and oh so hot. I wish I could say that the kiss is unwanted and unwelcome but the passion I’m feeling is anything but revolting, in fact I want more. So fucking much more!
“I thought they said they hated each other,” Someone says, causing Gage to jump off of me. I want nothing more than to pull him back toward me but luckily the reality of what just happened hits me hard, leaving me confused. I want to feel disgusted but all I’m feeling is hot and horny after that passionate kiss.
“I do hate him,” I say standing up and seeing that most of my family and friends are watching us. “That was just to torture and show him I’m the best he’ll never have.” I continue before huffing and stomping my way up the stairs and to my room, secretly running from all the judgy eyes that are glued on both Gage and me.
Shutting the door behind me, my knees give out under me and I collapse to the floor. What in the ever-loving hell was that all about? I can't believe I kissed Gage Roberts and liked it.
CHAPTER FOUR
Gage
I watch in shock and surprise as Lori practically runs up the stairs. What in fucks name just happened? One minute I was falling on her and the next there was a pull so strong between us that I couldn't help but kiss her. It just happened and I hate to say it but I actually liked it.
“What the hell was that, Gage?” Chantell, my date for the night asks. She sounds pissed but I couldn't care less. All I can think about is that kiss between me and my lifelong enemy.
“I always knew that sooner or later that would happen.” Mrs. P says, a smile lining her lips and tears glistening in her eyes.
What the actual fuck?
“Yeah, I just can't believe it took them this long,” Johnny adds, grinning at me like the Cheshire cat.
“Wait... what?” I ask. Not sure what they’re all on about. Lorianne and I have hated each other since childhood. I don't get what all this talk about this happening sooner or later is coming from. Until this moment, I never saw Lori as anything more than the most annoying female to exist, someone I could never get along with or even like.
“So, does this mean you and my daughter are a couple now?” Mr. P asks. The hope evident in his tone has me tensing. I don't have a clue how to answer that question. I want to tell them that the kiss was a mistake that would never happen again but deep down I think I know that I would not only be lying to them, but to myself as well.
“Uh… There will be no dating of any kind, that was a mistake,” I finally decide to say, trying my best to convince both me and everyone else who just witnessed the kiss.
“If you say so, son.” Mr. P has a knowing smirk transforming his features. Which confuses me.
“This is all so freaking lame. Gage, I want you to take me home!” Chantell whines before barging through the house toward the front door.
Great, I actually forgot about Chantell being here. Now she’s going to expect me to explain whatever it is that just happened and I don't think I can do that. With a heavy sigh, I bid everyone goodnight before following Chantell out and to my convertible. She’s standing by the passenger side tapping her foot impatiently when I finally reach her and her face is as red as her hair, she looks fucking pissed right now.
“Okay then, ready to go?” I ask as I unlock the car. Trying my best to act like nothing just happened because quite frankly, I’m still struggling to believe that it actually did.
“I’ve been ready!” She hisses at me. Before, I only thought that she was angry but that glare she’s throwing my way is proving that she’s absolutely furious. If looks could kill, I swear I would drop dead instantly.
“Right,” is the only word that leaves my lips as we both climb into the car.
“So, you’re just gonna sit there and not explain yourself?” Chantell yells after a few minutes of me driving silently.
“There really is nothing to explain,” I shrug. How the hell is she expecting me to explain something I myself don't really understand?
“What? You brought me here as your date and whispered sweet nothings in my ear the whole night but you end up kissing some random girl right where everyone can see you and you think that there is nothing to explain?!” She says, her voice rising with every word. “You played me Gage!” She continues yelling like a banshee.
Apart from playing her, she has a point but I’m not about to admit to that so I keep quiet and stare at the road ahead.
“They were right about you Gage Roberts.” She says and I give her a quick glance and see that she’s looking out of the window with her arms folded on her chest. “You really are an asshole who cares about nothing but getting his dick wet!” She continues.
“Well, can’t argue there,” I whisper under my breath. It's true, I’ve never wanted to get any kind of serious with a woman and I’ve made it perfectly clear to them from the beginning. Even when I do try to get serious, I never manage to make the relationship work past the four month mark.
The rest of the drive to her place was thankfully in silence after she cursed me six ways from Sunday, she literally used every curse word known to man and threw in some of her own made up ones. When we finally arrived at her place she silently but furiously climbed out of my car before wordlessly slamming the door so hard that I was afraid that it was going to break right off.
“Jesus, what a fucking night,” I mutter to myself as I quietly sit at the bar. After dropping Chantell off at her place, I decided that I needed a stiff drink so I found the nearest bar and am now sitting alone trying to figure out what the hell actually happened tonight.
I’m still confused about that kiss between myself and Lori. I’ve hated Lorianne since I moved to town as a boy so I don't understand where the hell that hot attraction came from as I was laying on top of her. It was so intense that my lips gravitated towards hers and it was like I didn't have any control over my own body and the one thing that’s confusing me the most is that instead of feeling repulsed about kissing my enemy, I actually fucking liked it. I liked it a lot and I definitely didn't want to stop.
“Hi Gage?” A feminine voice says, causing me to look up from my whiskey.
“Hi,” I reply when I see that my ex, Jessica is standing next to me in a skimpy little red dress that would usually have me smooth talking her into going home with me. But not tonight, I don't know what the hell is wrong w
ith me but my brain keeps playing my earlier kiss on repeat and it’s frustrating me to no fucking end. I need to start making sense of all of this before I lose my mind.
“About this morning-”
“Yeah, don't sweat it.” I say, cutting her off before immediately standing to make my way to leave. I don’t have the time or patience to entertain her tonight.
“Wait, where are you going?” Jessica yells after me as I rush out of the bar without even giving her a second look.
I honestly don't have time for her tonight, I’ll probably be regretting doing anything with her in the morning anyway. As usual. I need to go find out what the hell happened earlier tonight. I can’t get it out of my mind. Hastily getting into my car I slam it into gear and head straight for my arch enemy’s house.
The party is still going when I finally arrive at Lori’s house and I slip in without anyone seeing me and head straight for her room, hoping that she’s in there. Opening the door without even knocking, I find her inside, dressed in short pajama pants and a tank top. More confusion hits me when I instantly get hard at the sight of her.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” She glares at me from her bed as she asks.
“What the hell happened earlier Lori? What in fucks name possessed you to kiss me like that?” My question comes out between clenched teeth.
“Me?” She sounds outraged as she points at her chest before continuing. “You freaking kissed me, not the other way around, jackass!” She’s now walked over to me and is shoving her finger in my face.
“Don't act like you were not kissing me back Lorianne,” I say, narrowing my eyes at her. I’m fishing for her to confirm that she’s as confused as I am about what happened. Or to at least tell me why we let it happen.
“Yeah, like I said. I did so-” The close proximity between us brings back that intense feeling between us again and without planning or meaning to, I'm cutting her words off by crashing my lips against hers. Again!
I’m expecting nothing but reluctance or maybe a slap from her but she returns my kiss with as much hunger and passion as I'm feeling and giving. My hands work on their own accord as they start to feel her up, working their way up and under her tank top. The soft moans that vibrates through her body bring me over the edge and I find myself lifting her onto me. She wraps her legs around my waist giving me the opportunity to walk us toward her bed.
She moans even louder after I’ve laid us on her bed and start working rough wet kisses down her neck. The sounds coming from her make me harder than I’ve ever been.
“God Gage!” She moans as my lips reach her nipples that are hard as rocks under her top. She wants this, she wants it as much as I do right now.
“I hate you!” She moans loudly as she arches her back off the bed in ecstasy, a sign that she wants more.
“I hate you more!” I groan as my hand wanders into her shorts. Another feral low groan vibrates through my body when I feel just how slick and wet she is right now.
“This shouldn't be happening,” she says on a moan so loud that if the music wasn't so loud outside, someone would have heard her.
“I know, but this feels fucking good,” I say, the words coming out of nowhere and deep down in the little part of me that is still functioning and not filled with lust or alcohol, I find it disturbing how true those words actually are.
With hasty, clumsy hands she starts pulling my shirt off, once my shirt is forgotten and discarded somewhere on her bedroom floor, she eagerly starts working on my pants. I reluctantly take my hand out of her short shorts and undress her as quick as I possibly can because for some odd reason at this point in time, I can't wait to be inside her. I crave her like the forbidden fruit she truly is.
Finally thrusting hard into her, she gives another loud moan that brings me over the edge of no return. This woman has become a drug so potent to me that I’m struggling to keep a straight thought. Groaning low and rough, I start thrusting in and out of her. Chasing a release we both need at this point.
“Oh God, Gage!” She exclaims as she orgasms hard.
The slick feel of the warm liquid I feel on my cock inside her has me going over the edge too. “Fuck!” I groan again as my own release causes my whole body to shudder in ecstasy.
“What the hell was that?” I ask no one in particular as I roll off her, panting for much needed air after that mind blowing session.
“That was something that we’ll never do again,” she says, causing me to turn my head and look at her. She is still lying on her back with her eyes closed.
“Yes, we got whatever it was that possessed us out of our system. There won't be a repeat.” I say as I get off her bed and start searching for my clothes.
She’s silent for a long while but finally sits up just as I’m wearing the last of my clothes.
“Yes,” she pauses for a few seconds before continuing. “Because I still hate you Gage Roberts!” I smirk at her last words before grabbing my shoes and not bothering to put them back on and start to leave her room.
“I still hate you more, Lorianne Parkinson.” Are my parting words to her as I close her bedroom door behind me.
Well, that just happened and the weird thing is, I enjoyed it more than words can ever describe! Sex with the one woman I’ve hated since childhood. Who would have thought?
Chapter Five
Lorianne
I wake up the following morning feeling deliciously sore from the most amazing, hottest sex I’ve ever had. Just thinking about it makes me clench my thighs together to try and stop the light throbbing that starts in my most sensitive spot. Giving a soft, long moan I close my eyes as my mind takes me back to last night. All I could think about was that kiss between Gage and I that came out of nowhere and knocked me absolutely breathless, the scene kept playing in my mind on repeat and I both loved and hated it.
I was shocked and surprised when he burst into my room later, his breath smelling like hard liquor. That surprise quickly turned into red hot rage when he blamed me for that kiss, like I’m the one who initiated it. Which was far from the truth and he knew it.
When he kissed me again, I thought my first instinct would have been to push him away then curse him into next week. But no, to my surprise, as soon as those soft lips touched mine I was a goner and all I could do was to try and climb him like a spider monkey. At that point, there was not even a hint of disgust or the hate I usually feel just at the mention of his name and that little fact left me unsure of my feelings for him and not to mention confused.
I’ve hated that man ever since he splashed mud all over my new dress when he first moved to our neighborhood. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I would feel so much passion and lust towards him.
But it doesn't matter how I felt last night because it must’ve been a hormone malfunction. What happened between Gage and I last night was a mistake that should never be repeated.
With that conclusion, I decided to get out of bed and make quick work of going to take a shower and getting dressed and ready for the day. To get my mind off all things confusing, I’ve decided to call Gwen and ask her to go shopping with me. Retail therapy is bound to do the trick of making me completely forget about Gage.
“Good morning honey,” Mom says as soon as I step into the kitchen where she’s busy with preparing breakfast.
“Morning ma,” I reply, a smile forming on my lips. This is one of the things I missed about being home. My mother’s cooking. “Smells really good in here,” I continue as I grab a piece of bacon off a plate.
“I thought maybe you lot would need a proper breakfast after last night,” she says, grinning over at me.
“I didn't drink that much last night but I’ll never say no to a breakfast meant for kings and queens.” I tell her.
“I know, but you and Gage did have fun of your own in your room last night.” She says causing me to choke on the piece of bacon I just bit off.
“Excuse me?” I ask, my face heating up from embar
rassment.
“I saw him running down the stairs with his shoes in his hands late last night. I just assumed that after that kiss you shared you-”
“Oh my God mom. No!” I exclaim.
“Oh, so he wasn't coming from your room?” The disappointment in my mother’s eyes confuses me. What, did she want him to have come from my room?
“No, I didn't even know he came back last night.” I lie through my teeth. No one can ever find out about what Gage and I did last night when he came back. No one!
“You didn't know who came back?” Johnny asks, suddenly appearing behind me. I didn't even hear him come in.
“Gage,” mom is the one to answer.
“Gage came back after leaving with baby girl red?” Johnny asks, looking confused.
“Apparently so,” I answer my brother who’s now sporting a knowing grin.
“Did he come back because of that hot kiss you two shared?” He asks. Jeez I’m never going to hear the end of that.
“Oh my God, no I can't deal with this right now,” I say abruptly standing and grabbing my purse. “Ma, can I borrow your car?” I ask as I grab her car keys from the kitchen counter.
“Sure, where are you headed so early?” She asks.
“Probably to go smooch Gage some more,” my brother pipes in with a mouth full of bacon.
“Oh fuck off, Johnathan!” Are my parting words and all I can hear is loud laughter on my way out.
Rolling my eyes, I decide to give Gwen a call and ask if she’s free for that shopping. Pulling my phone out of my purse, I dial her number.
“Morning Crazy Lori!” Gwen answers on the third ring, sounding awake and refreshed.
“Told you, I’m not so much crazy anymore.” I laugh as I open the car door and climb in.
“What do you call marching right up to a guy then shoving him into a pool while he’s sweet talking his date then end up sucking his face off in front of the same date?” Her question has me groaning in both embarrassment and despair.
