“I’m not done with you yet, Lori.” He says as he suddenly lifts me into his arms, carrying me bridal style as he starts walking further into the house and up the stairs.
It's not long before he’s placing me on a soft bed. I watch as he strips out of his clothes and my body heats in anticipation. He’s completely naked when he climbs on top of me on the bed.
“I’ve been craving to do this again ever since you left my workshop earlier.” He says as he parts my legs with his.
“Hmm,” is the only sound I make as I arch my back in anticipation when I feel his hard dick between my legs.
“You are awfully quiet, Lori. I want to hear you.” He says before sinking in to me with excruciating slowness.
“Gage!” His name sounds like a prayer as it slips through my lips.
“That’s more like it,” he says before picking up the pace. Moving in and out of me fast as he chases both our releases.
My orgasm unexpectedly crashes through my body, leaving me tired and properly sated for the first time in a long while. A few more pumps from him and he stills at my deepest point as he also reaches his climax.
“Jesus!” He says, panting as he rolls off of me.
For some reason I’m exhausted and can barely keep my eyes open so I let them close before actually speaking for the first time since we got here. “I still hate you, Gage Roberts.” I say in a soft tired voice.
His soft chuckle has me smiling as he lifts my head onto his chest.
“I still hate you more, Lorianne Parkinson.” I hear him say before I fall into a deep peaceful sleep. Dreaming of hot mechanics and even hotter sex.
Chapter Eight
Gage
Surprise laced annoyance hits me hard when I wake up the following morning to discover that Lori is no longer in my bed. Sitting up, I look around my childhood bedroom and see that there is no sign of her, her clothes are gone so that means that either she woke up really early and sneaked out or she left in the middle of the night.
Getting out of bed, I start searching for my phone which I find in my jeans pocket. I sit back on the bed and start to text her.
Me: Where did you disappear to.
When I don't get an answer after ten minutes, I start to call her but get interrupted by a knock on my door. I quickly grab my boxers from the floor and put them on before saying; “Be right there.”
“Morning son, breakfast is ready.” Dad says as soon I open my bedroom door. The grin etched on his lips has me lifting an eyebrow.
“Why do you look so happy?” I ask.
“It's good to be home again,” is the only thing he says before turning and leaving, heading downstairs. A grin of my own forms on my lips. Yes, it truly is nice to have my father back home. Healthy and sober for the first time since I was nineteen years old.
After a quick shower, I head downstairs where I find my father seated on the kitchen counter surrounded by toast, eggs, bacon and freshly made coffee.
“Oh, where did all this come from?” I ask as I take a seat opposite him. Last time I checked there was no food in this house. I was planning on going to get him some groceries today and even if there was food, my father can't cook to save his life.
“Carol came by a while ago and brought this,” he tells me and a fond smile forms on my lips at the sweet gesture. I really would be lost without the Parkinson’s.
“Okay then, lets dig in.” I say as I grab a plate and start piling it with food.
“So, you still insist that you hate Lorianne?” My father asks conversationally.
“What do you mean?” I ask, playing dumb. I know where he’s going with this but I’m not really sure I’ll be able to answer any of the questions I’m sure are to follow because I honestly don't have the answers to them as I don't know myself.
“Last night, you two didn’t act like two people who hate each other and when I came back from her house last night, I was greeted by her shirt and bra by the front door.” He tells me and I for some reason I can't help but get embarrassed.
“I still don't know what you’re talking about.” I say, denial evident in my voice.
“Oh?” He grins before continuing. “Well what about when I saw her sneaking out of your room like a thief in the night at four AM?”
Oh, so that’s when she left.
“You’re not going to drop this, are you?” I ask as I run my hands down my face.
“Nope!” He says, laughing a bit.
“Look Dad, at this point I don't really know what’s going on between Lori and I. I couldn't even ask her because like you said, she sneaked out of here like a thief in the night.” I tell him honestly.
“And what do you want to be going on between the two of you?” He asks and I give a heavy sigh.
“To be honest, I can't get enough of her and I think I want to see where whatever this attraction is I have for her goes.” I tell him honestly and he frowns.
“But son, sounds like you are talking about just sex.” He says, making me think for a second.
“Maybe,” I reply. I’ve never actually been in a relationship that lasted before so I’m quite positive that I wouldn't know how to be in one with Lori.
“I know I probably don't have the right to be telling you this but, son,” he pauses for a second before continuing. “I don't think this enemies with benefits thing you are planning on will end well. For either of you.” He says.
Well then crap. I think Mr. Goodwill said something along those lines. But I don’t have anything more than sex to offer Lorianne, I wouldn’t even know where to begin offering more than sex. And it's definitely too late for me to stay away from her now. I’ve had a taste and need more, a lot more.
“We’ll see what happens, Dad.” I say as I finish the last of my food.
“Just be careful.” He says, mimicking Mr. Goodwill’s words to me yesterday.
“Yeah, I will.” I reply as I stand and grab my car keys. “I’ll be back in a little while. You need some groceries.” I tell him before making my way out and to my car.
When I reach my car, I briefly eye the Parkinson’s house and contemplate on going there to see if I find Lorianne. But I decide to leave it for now. I’ll try calling her later to convince her to come over to my place later on. For some reason, I feel like I want to spend every minute I can with her.
I’m in the store shopping for groceries when my phone vibrates with a message from Lori. Fucking Finally.
Sexy Enemy: Sorry, I had to go.
Me: At four in the morning?
Sexy Enemy: How did you know what time I left. You were sleeping.
I smile as I type my reply. I wish I could be there to see her reaction when she reads what I’m about to tell her.
Me: My father said he saw you sneaking out like a thief in the night
“Oh my freaking God!” I suddenly hear her loud and panicked voice in the next isle. That is definitely her voice I just heard, I would know it from anywhere.
Well I’ll be damned. I can't believe my luck, she’s actually here right now! I start to walk out of the aisle in search of her, not even bothering to text her again. Turning into the next aisle, I spot her standing in the middle of the isle looking down at what is probably her phone. I feel my phone vibrate again as I come to a stop behind her. I smile to myself when I read her latest text.
Sexy Enemy: Please tell me you’re fucking joking!!
“Actually, I’m dead serious. He saw you running away after the best sex of your life.” I decide to say, making my presence known. She whirls around after jumping so high that I’m sure if it were possible she would have literally jumped out of her own skin.
“Fucking jerk face! Do you want to give me a freaking heart attack?” She says, clutching her chest with one of her hands.
“Nope,” I say. A smirk settles on my lips before I continue. “The only thing I want to kill you with are orgasms.” Her eyes widen for a second at my seductive whispered words but she recovers quickly and a smir
k of her own takes residence on her features.
“You mean the ones I’ve been faking?” She whispers back before turning and pushing her trolly away. Narrowing my eyes at her back, I decide to follow her.
“You’re not that good of an actor,” I say as I reach her, we’re now pushing our trollies side by side.
“And you’re a jerk face!” She retorts. Surely she can do better than that reply.
“And yet I recall you calling me god last night,” I tell her and she briefly stops, grabs something from the isle rack then throws it into my trolly. I don't bother to look at what it was as we continue walking.
“I never called you, god.” She says, doing all she can to avoid looking at me.
“Oh God!” I say, mimicking her moans from last night and the night before.
“Like I said. Jerk face! And I told you, I was faking.” She says as she reaches for something else on the shelves and throws it in my trolly. I just smile as I hold her gaze, she’s trying to distract me by throwing random shit in my trolly but I won't give her the satisfaction of getting distracted. She’s distracting enough for me.
“How about you come over to my place tonight and we can test that theory,” I say before holding my breath as I wait for her answer.
“Sure, text me your address.” She agrees as she grabs something else from the shelves and throws it into my trolley. Something tells me to take a peek at what she’s been adding to my groceries but her easy acceptance of coming over tonight has me distracted and stunned. I was expecting her to argue or to play hard to get like she’s been doing these past few days.
“Good. I’ll see you later then.” I tell her before turning and heading to the check out. I had finished all my shopping before I heard her voice so I’m ready to go.
I start unloading my trolley as soon as I get to the check out, not concentrating on what it is I’m unloading as my mind keeps drifting back to Lori and how easy it was to get her to agree to come to my place. I need to figure out what we’re going to do besides have hot sex.
The cashier starts snickering after I’ve unloaded a few items from the trolley onto the counter. I look at her and notice that she’s holding a box of condoms in her hand. Looking down at the counter I notice that there are a few more boxes of condoms accompanied by some lube, rope, duct tape and there are even some tampons.
What the hell?
I groan low when I realize that that’s what Lori has been adding to my groceries. That Goddamned vixen. But if she thinks this will embarrass me then she has another thing coming. I don't mind people thinking I’m a kinky son of a bitch. I look up at the cashier whose face is a deep shade of red and give her a huge smile. She picks up a few more condom boxes then snickers again. Frowning because I don't really quite get what's so funny I pick up one of the condom boxes and give them a quick read.
‘Snug fit’ are the first words that catch my eye.
“Wait, snug fit as in a size small?” My question is accidentally voiced out loud and the cashier loses it with laughter. Frantically looking at the rest of the boxes I notice that they’re all ‘snug fit’.
I’m going to fucking kill Lori for this.
“No, these are not the right size!” I tell the cashier, waving one of the boxes in her face. The store gets quiet as most eyes land on me and the cashier helping me.
“I heard it's not about the size of the sea but the motion of the ocean, sir.” The cashier says and everyone who was close enough to hear her statement burst out laughing.
“I do not have a small dick! I’m an extra, extra, extra fucking large!” My words come out louder than intended, causing half of the store to burst into uncontrollable laughter and the other half to look at me like I’ve just lost my fucking mind.
I can feel my ears heating up in embarrassment and decide to get the hell out of the store, leaving all my groceries behind. Jesus, I can’t believe that bloody vixen did that to me. I curse her with every curse word known to man all the way to my car. I’ll get her back for this little stunt.
“Jesus,” I groan as soon as I’ve slammed my car door shut.
“I HATE LORIANNE PARKINSON!!”
Chapter Nine
Lorianne
I’m still snickering to myself when I finally get home from the store. I hid in one of the aisles when Gage made his way to the cashout and watched in anticipation as I waited for the sparks to fly. I probably shouldn't have packed those odd stuff into his trolley but I couldn't help it, I needed to get him back for being a cocky, sexy prick. At first, I thought my plan had failed because he didn't look affected at all as he studied the stuff I added but then, the small sized condoms did the trick. I’m sure he is/was pissed but it was totally worth it.
Walking into the house, I find my parents laughing and playing cards in the living room. They don't notice me so I stand quietly and watch them. Now these are relationship goals, they’ve been together over twenty five years and are still happy together. I wonder if I will ever find someone who I’ll spend the rest of my life with.
My phone buzzes with a message and I pull my phone out of my pocket before turning and making my way to my room. An involuntary smile forms on my lips when I see who the message is from.
Gage: Revenge is going to be so fucking sweet
Grinning, I type my short reply.
Me: Bring it on!
I’m just getting seated in my room, ready for a text banter with Gage when my phone vibrates with a call. I momentarily get excited thinking that it’s Gage calling but my excitement fades a notch when I don't recognize the number flashing on the caller ID.
“Hello,” I answer, wondering who it might be.
“Hi baby,” my blood runs cold when I hear the voice on the other end of the call.
“What the hell do you want, Thomas?” My good mood just took a nosedive. Why the hell would my asshole cheating ex boyfriend be calling me.
“I miss you baby,” he says and a loud, fake humorless laugh slips through my lips.
“Good for you.” I say when my fake laugh tapers down. “I thought I told you to lose my number,” I say, the laughter has now completely died down.
“How can I lose the number of a woman who’s written on my heart?” his answer has me groaning in frustration.
“Still lying, I see.” I state.
“I’ve been going to your place these past couple of days but you’re never there.” He says, ignoring the fact that I just flat out called him a liar.
“That would be because I’m out of town,” I say before I can catch myself. What the hell is wrong with me, I shouldn't have told him that.
“Oh, where are you and when will you be back. We need to talk baby.” His questions have me frowning.
“That really is none of your business and I don't have anything to say to you.” I tell him.
“But I have plenty to say. I want you back Lori, I miss you. I miss us,” he says and I roll my eyes so hard I could almost see the back of my brain.
He starts talking again when I don't answer him. “You were always my favorite, baby.” He says, his words bringing my blood to a boiling point as anger slowly works its way down my spine.
“Don't call me again, Thomas.” I say before ending the call as I decide I’ve heard enough.
That lying son of a biscuit! Is he freaking crazy? Does he really think I would give him the time of day after cheating on me with several women? I might be crazy sometimes but I’m definitely not stupid enough to step in that pile of shit for a second time.
My phone buzzes again with the same number and I hit ignore, sending him straight to voicemail. When he tries calling again, I hit ignore then block his number. I honestly don't need that kind of negativity in my life.
My phone starts ringing again just as I throw it on my bed. I sigh when I glance at the caller ID and see that it’s the office calling me.
“Hello,” I reluctantly answer because I dread finding out what it is they want.
“H
i, Lori. Sorry to bother you, but I need you to come in next week Monday. Mr. Lambord is coming in for a meeting and requested you be there.” Jane, my boss tells me, eliciting a sigh to slip through my lips. Just great, here I was thinking that I still have two more weeks of visiting my parents. But Mr. Lambord is one of our biggest clients and we have to keep him happy at all times so I guess I don’t really have a choice but to be there next week.
“Okay, will it only be for that day?” I ask but I’m sure my boss can hear the lack of enthusiasm in my voice.
“I think so, yes.” Her answer has me releasing another sigh, this time a sigh of relief. If it’s only for that day then I can just come back home on Tuesday and I’m sure my car will be ready by then.
“Okay, I’ll be there.” I tell her.
“Great, thanks Lori. See you on Monday.” She says.
“See you then,” I answer before ending the call.
Another loud groan of frustration escapes through my lips when my phone buzzes with a message just as I put it back down. God, I hope it's not someone else who’s going to ruin my day further. Instead of checking my phone, I decide maybe to go for a swim. Maybe it would be best to avoid talking to anyone else while I’m in such a dark mood. I quickly change into my bikini then decide to leave my phone before heading out to the pool.
“Oh, you’re back.” Mom says when I walk through the living area where she and my father are still seated and playing cards.
“Yeah.” I plaster a fake smile on my face so that my parents don't notice the foul mood I’m actually in. “I’m going for a swim,” I say as I quickly make my way out the sliding doors.
I’m in such a bad mood that I can't even bring myself to smile when the epic memory of when I pushed Gage into the pool floods my mind. Discarding my towel, I dive into the pool letting the water cool me off from both the heat as well as my anger.
