I thought he’d missed that part, but of course, he caught the mention earlier. He seemed to pick up on everything I told him and didn’t forget. “My boyfriend cheated on me.”
“Bastard.”
I shook my head. “It gets worse.” I took a moment before I spoke again, thinking about how much anger I still felt toward the two of them. “He cheated on me, with my best friend, and got her pregnant.”
Calvin looked furious. “Who does that to their friend or a girlfriend?” He sat in a chair next to the lunch table. “Look, Iris. I know we’re just getting to know each other and this has gotten a lot more intense that I thought it would but I’ll never do that to you. I’m not a cheater, never have been and never will. That guy deserves to get his ass kicked.”
“Oh! Trust me, there are plenty of things I wish I could do to him which would make him suffer.”
Calvin watched me his expression guarded. “He hurt you… he hurt you badly, I can tell.”
“He did.” I forced a smile while simultaneous trying to hold back the tears. “But you seem decent.”
“Decent? I’ll show you decent.” He grabbed my hand and I found myself sitting on his lap, twisting and screaming as he tickled me without mercy.
“Stop, Calvin, stop,” I begged, squirming around and trying to escape.
He finally stopped. While I tried to fix my top, which was now up around my breasts, the silence in the room became heavy.
“I won’t hurt you, I won’t hurt you intentionally,” he corrected.
“I’m starting to trust you on that.” He had shown me he cared about me, his intentions toward me seemed real. Calvin didn’t strike me as the type of man to play games.
“This is just our beginning, Iris.” He brushed his lips over mine.
*o*o*
After a difficult and sexually frustrating few minutes with Calvin, he took a shower and went upstairs into his office. He came down to see me later on in the day to grab something to eat and I ended up leaving without a goodbye at the end of my shift.
I hadn’t been on a date for quite some time. Finding something to wear seemed to be the challenge of the day. He’d told me to dress nicely without over doing it. I thought a dress would be adequate and classic. He’d mentioned taking me to a restaurant, but he hadn’t told me the name. My stomach was in a mix of knots and butterflies all entangled together. I was thirsty, but I didn’t dare drinking anything, I was so anxious I was afraid my body couldn’t keep it down.
I sat on the end of my bed, and faced my small room. Calvin seemed to have everything that was bigger and better than everyone else, and he went for me who rented a residence room which was the size of a small caravan. It didn’t make any sense to me, I couldn’t figure out why he would be interested in a nobody like me. I sat there, clueless… but I had to admit, I liked him, a lot.
I ended up wearing a simple black dress, teaming it with a zircon bracelet and black heels that I had borrowed from Krys’ room. I walked around the room a couple of times, to make sure I could actually walk in them. I laughed at my own foolishness, but I believed I could survive this date without making a complete fool of myself.
The time had come to go downstairs and wait for Calvin, but he was already there, waiting patiently in the lobby. I wondered who’d let him in.
“Iris, you are beautiful. Look at you.” He kissed my forehead. “Are you ready to go?”
I nodded, suddenly shy.
A Mercedes sports car was parked right in front of the building, he opened the passenger door, held my hand while I settled inside and shut the door for me. He walked around the car and settled in the driver’s seat beside me. One hand settled on the steering wheel and the other one settled on my knee. I had no clue where we were going, but I didn’t ask either. I wanted it to be a surprise.
We didn’t drive too far from my place before he entered a private parking area. Again, he opened the door for me and helped me out of the car. It looked like a residential property. By now, I was way beyond curious. “Where are we?”
He smiled enigmatically. “You’ll see.”
Calvin led the way towards an elevator and entered a security code. This was our first time together, outside of his work environment and I was already overwhelmed by his wealth. I couldn’t hide a smile and the butterflies were swirling madly in my belly.
Once the elevator came to a stop, he moved behind me and held me by the waist. The doors opened and we started moving forward.
“Holy... You brought me to your place?” I must have been blind not to see this was coming, but I honestly had expected anything but this. The idea of him choosing to bring me to his home was a huge deal.
“Are you disappointed? Would you have preferred if I’d taken you somewhere else?”
I smiled. “I think this is perfect.”
His apartment was at least twenty times the size of my room. Everything was perfectly placed, every accessory and curtain matched. We walked through the impressive entrance into the living room. The ceiling was at least ten feet high and the windows were just as tall, revealing a beautiful view of the city lights. Calvin helped me out of my jacket and looked concerned at my lack of winter appropriate gear.
“I know you’ll be alone for Christmas and it's not right. I want you to spend a nice first Christmas with me.” The smooth and seductive sound of his voice warmed me. I’d never felt this way with Damien or… if I was honest, with Zach. Something magical was happening with Calvin. Could I be falling in love?
I followed Calvin through the room, he seemed excited and when we stopped, I saw a beautiful tall Christmas tree standing next to a fire place. It was perfectly decorated with white and blue ornaments and I was shocked speechless. I had been imagining a sad and lonely Christmas for nearly two months now and Calvin had managed, in a very short period, to make that expectation disappear and be replaced with something wonderful.
“I know what it’s like to spend Christmas day alone. I've been doing it for many years. I don’t want you to deal with that.”
I stared at the Christmas tree, a huge grin creeping across my lips. “You did this – for me?”
He nodded. “I did. Will you spend the holidays with me, Iris?”
My heart broke a little, hearing him say he’d been spending Christmas alone for years. I looked into his eyes, and saw the hope and the desire he was harboring that he could spend this time with me.
“Yes, yes... I will!” I could hardly contain my delight. I jumped into his arms and held on to him, squeezing him tightly. “Thank you for doing this.” I kissed him once on the lips and then hugged him again. “It means a lot.”
He grinned, but remained silent. He just looked incredibly happy that I’d agreed.
“I'll have to go back to my place to grab a few things.”
“We’ll go in the morning. Right now, I’m not letting you out of my sight,” he murmured, pressing his lips to my forehead. “Are you hungry?”
“Starving.”
I released him, but Calvin had other ideas, he took me back into his warm embrace and even though I thought it was too soon to be thinking about an emotion as strong as love, that’s what it felt like. The desire to touch him, it never ceased. He picked me up and carried me through to the kitchen. Candles were sitting on the table, along with bottle of wine and a beautiful bouquet of … irises. I was touched by the gesture.
“Did you do all of this yourself?” He seemed to never stop amazing me.
“Most of it. I had help with the menu, though. I have a little helper who comes in a few times a week.” He smirked. “I hope you aren't allergic to seafood or we should maybe order a pizza.”
“Don't worry, I love seafood.” I laughed.
“Do you want to eat here at the table or in the living room?”
“Here. Let’s make it our first official dinner.” Never in my life had I been in a kitchen like this one. Everything screamed luxury. The dark wood cabinets, the marble counters. I loved it an
d hoped that I would get an opportunity to cook here, eventually.
“First of many.” His fingers danced over my hips, tickling me just enough to tease. “Let's get through dinner first.”
He pulled out my chair like a gentleman and I sat at the table. He was set to sit opposite me, but I wanted him closer. I took his place mat and his wine glass and put them at the place sitting beside mine. We would be closer this way. Angled to better look at each other.
The food was beyond delicious. It tasted like Italy, the flavors, the simplicity and the perfect cooking. Grilled shrimps, garlic, basil, and fresh homemade pasta. And that was only the main dish, everything else on the side made this meal worthy of a five star restaurant.
“This was amazing. Thank you for doing all this.”
I wondered what to do next. Should I do the dishes, or was it something that we would do together? Calvin was still a stranger to me, I didn’t know him. After giving it some thought, I got up and took both of our plates to put them in the sink. I rinsed them out first. It was something which had been drilled into me by my mother every day.
His chair screeched across the floor and he leaned his body against mine, his front pressing against my back. He pushed my hair to one side and feather kissed my neck.
“Do you really think I want you to worry about dishes on our first date?” He whispered against my ear and goose bumps erupted all over my body.
“What do you want me to worry about?” I said in a low, seductive voice.
“Me. Only me.”
With that being said, I turned around, and we locked gazes. No words were necessary. Every one of my senses, which I’d kept under control during dinner, now screamed to be freed. He lifted my chin with his finger in time for our lips to meet and I knew this would be my undoing.
His tongue pressed against my lips, begging to be let inside but I was too busy concentrating on unbuttoning his shirt. I missed the sight of his ink and craved his warm skin far too much. Calvin pushed his groin against me, pressing me back against the counter. As soon as I released the last button on his shirt, my hands swept across his chest, his back, everywhere I was able to reach.
“Iris, come with me.” Calvin ordered as he removed his shirt and threw it on the back of the chair.
He strode quickly from the kitchen, and I could hardly keep up with him on my heels. Midway through the living room, he stopped and drew me to him. His breathing quickened, and the desire in his eyes was palpable. After unzipping the back of my dress, it fell down my body, leaving me practically naked in baby blue lingerie and heels. A rush of heat filled my cheeks as he stared at me completely unashamed.
“I’m the luckiest bastard in the world.” He declared. “I hope you’re ready for this, sweetness.” He flipped me over his shoulders, and spanked my behind again. I was starting to believe this had to be something he enjoyed. My heels fell on the floor, somewhere along the way.
Everything I saw was upside down, but damn, what a view. His room was found in the corner of the apartment, and two of the walls were full length windows. He put me down on the comforter, grabbed a remote to let down one side of the curtains, leaving only the view of Central park. Not wasting any time, he joined me on the bed.
He turned on some music and the first lyrics of the song were about a one night stand. I crooked an eyebrow at him and he laughed. “Bad timing, sweetheart.” He removed his pants. As far as I was concerned, he shouldn’t be allowed to wear anything but his boxers during the holidays. The sight of his toned abs, sculptured legs and every one of his beautifully defined muscles had me nearly combusting.
I let a sigh escape my mouth while my eyes remained glued on his body.
“Impatient, are we?” he smirked.
“I really want you here, on top of me, Calvin. It’s getting cold in here,” I pouted.
He didn’t hesitate a second longer, he joined me, pressing his body against mine. I loved the weight of him on me. We continued from where we’d left off. Our tongues met and danced together. The rhythm increased as the need grew within us. His erection pushed against the fabric of his boxers. I wanted things to move faster, I had waited for this all day long. Savouring the moment was harder than I thought it would be, as I was desperately hungry for him. I reached under his boxers, his firm behind filling my hands.
A soft moan was escaped from his lips as he removed my bra and embraced my breast. He rubbed his fingers across my sensitive nipples. I wasn’t sure how much more I could endure without Calvin making love to me.
“I can't wait any longer, Calvin,” I whispered.
“I can't either, but I'm trying to slow things down, here. If I don’t slow things down, I won't be able to play nice.”
I ignored his warnings and pushed down his boxers, before removing my own underwear.
“Skin on skin, Cal,” I breathed.
The previous times we had been together hadn’t been as good as this. My breasts pressing against his chest made my nipples hyper-sensitive and the sensation of his erection pushing against my core was amazing. A bed wasn't so bad after all, it only gave us the opportunity to feel more, and be even closer to one another.
“Please,” I murmured against his neck.
His body hovered above me, he looked down at me and I swear he could see into my soul. I was giving him my body, I was his to take. “I... You're gorgeous, so fucking gorgeous,” he said huskily.
I loved hearing him say that, he made me feel so good about myself.
He parted my legs with his knees, and lowered his body down over me. I didn't know why, but it seemed as if we were both nervous. His body was tensed, his facial expression serious. I let my fingers danced over each side of his ribs to help him relax. Lowering his weight onto me, I wrapped my legs around his waist, and he pushed inside of my body. I groaned at the sensation of fullness, it didn't hurt, but I allowed myself to feel every single inch of him. Unlike before, we were in a private place, with nobody around to catch us. We only had us to worry about, and right now, I only wanted him.
Slowly, he pulled back, only to push back inside. His body trembled over mine as he kept thrusting into me, holding onto one of my legs. His rhythm accelerated and I met him with every thrust. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead as our lovemaking grew more passionate. The pleasure I experienced continued to grow higher with each thrust. I held on tightly to the headboard in hope of subduing some of the overwhelming feelings Calvin was working hard on giving me. My body screamed, begged for release but, Calvin abruptly stopped moving.
“I don't want to come now, Iris, not like this.” He sighed and wiped the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand. “Turn around,” he ordered and I knew what was coming. As soon as I turned around, he adjusted my hips to his height and slammed into me, deep and hard. “Hold on tight, sweetheart.”
I kept my hands on the headboard while he gave me his all. His hands came from behind and softly caressed my breasts. He slowed down the rhythm and transformed his rough and needy thrusts into a sensual and passionate lovemaking. He pulled me closer, and my back arched. His reach into me was deep and incredibly sensitive. Each time he thrust deep inside, it created a ticklish sensation in my lower tummy. My breathing was ragged and so was his.
“I’m almost there, Calvin,” I breathed. Calvin flipped me back over and lay I back on the bed, before he entered me again, his movements smooth and sure. “I want to watch you, sweetheart.”
He kept giving me everything, until I desperately needed to come undone. With all the power within me, I pulled and pushed against the sheets, tossing my head back and forth. My legs shook under intense wave of pleasure. A pleased smile appeared on Calvin's face as a loud moan escaped my lips. “God... Calvin!”
It was all I managed to say as the climax swiftly spread through my body. It seemed as if thousands of tiny butterflies were fluttering through my body, and the feeling was amazing.
His movements grew faster and rougher, he groaned, rubbing his fac
e against the cleavage of my breasts. I couldn't move or think, I had never felt anything like this. So powerful and real. Each time with him was better, more amazing. His climax exploded through him and he dropped his full weight on me, and I had a hard time breathing as I caught my own breath. He feather kissed across my breasts, leaving a damp trail from one side to the other. It made me giggle. He finally pulled away from me and rolled onto his side. I kept my eyes closed, sated and completely overwhelmed. I was falling hard for this man.
Chapter 7
Fingers played in my hair, and kisses were laid across my cheek. I smiled and opened my eyes.
“Welcome back, sleepyhead,” Calvin said in a playful voice.
“You nearly killed me,” I announced.
“I did.” He laughed.
“What time is it?” I asked
“It’s nearly midnight.”
I sat up on the bed, mortified. “Oh, Calvin, I’m so sorry! I ruined our date. Why did you let me sleep?”
“Because you were beautiful and because you obviously needed the sleep. I watched you for a while. I even put the dishes in the dishwasher when I figured you weren’t waking up anytime soon,” he teased.
“I’m sorry. I feel bad now.”
He moved closer to kiss my temple. “Look outside, it’s snowing.”
The dark sky of New York City had sparkles of white cotton balls fluttering down from the heavens. I had never seen snow falling before, only in movies. In all my naked glory, I hurried across to the window, and watched it fall on the already snow-covered ground.
“People can see you, you know,” Calvin casually remarked.
I rapidly covered my breasts with my arms in embarrassment. I jumped back into the bed, ashamed of what I had done.
Calvin laughed loudly, so loud that it resonated through the whole apartment. “I love when you blush like that and, by the way, they can’t really see you. I just wanted to tease you.” I punched him hard on the shoulder and judging by the face he made, I managed to hurt him, just a little.
