Dominant Professor: When you crave the punishment, you break the rules. Page 34

  “Relax Mr. Harrison. Everything’s OK.”

“Is she OK! Olivia Abernathy. The girl who was hit by the car.”

The words sound jumbled together, my own voice foggy and slow.

I need to make her understand.

“No one was hit by a car, Mr. Harrison. From what I hear you saved two girls lives. I need to go get the doctor now that you’ve woken up.”

The doctor comes in and checks my vitals. I try to lift myself up but can’t, pain overwhelming me.

“Sit back Mr. Harrison. You’ve been through a lot. Blunt force trauma with internal bleeding. You’ve lost a lot of blood and are going to need weeks of recovery.”

  “I need to see her.”

“You’ve got visitors coming in an hour. Try to get some rest.”

I want to keep my eyes open, but I can’t even tell if the doctor has left the room or is still standing by me. My eyes feel heavy. Sedated.

When I open them again I see her standing in front of me, a scared, hopeful smile on her face.

Olivia is angelic. The throbbing pain that burns in my body is pushed to the back of my mind in her presence.

“I thought I lost you Bruce.”

  “I thought I lost you.”

Every word sends a jab of pain through my body.

She leans forward and kisses me gingerly on my lips.

I need to know she isn’t hurt.

“You OK?” Even speaking makes my abs burn with pain.

“Bruce, you’re the one who’s in the hospital! I know you aren’t OK right now, but the doctors say you’re going to be fine. The police told me everything. About Laurel… or should I say, Laura. God, can you believe that woman has been working at the college all this time? But Bruce…”

She looks hurt. Like I’ve done something horrible. I see a tear stream down from her eye.

It’s been a horrible few days for her.

“If we are going to be together you can never keep anything from me again. I know you just wanted to protect me, but you have to tell me these things. God, listen to me. I shouldn’t be bringing this up here. Not now. You’re in pain, just out of surgery, what am I thinking!”

None of that matters. The pain. The surgery. Only she matters.

“I will never keep anything from you again, Olivia.” I fight through the pain, using every last ounce of my energy to say three more words.

  “I love you.”

I fight to keep my eyes open. I want one last glance at her.

I feel her fingers smoothing my eyes closed, her lips soft on mine as I slip back into a drugged sleep.

“I love you too Bruce,” I hear, and I try to reply but all that comes out of me is a happy mumble.

  Epilogue

  Five months later

The solid wood of the cabin is a reprieve. Life has been so crazy that our private getaways are the only thing that keeps me sane. I feel the warmth of the fire, looking at Bruce and reflecting.

Five months since the worst night of my life.

Does life just keep moving faster the older you get? The last five months seem like such a blur.

Him asking me to move into the penthouse.

Starting my tutoring business and employing two tutors to help with my growing client base.

The entire team screaming when we made it to finals, shocked when Bruce flew us all there in a private jet, and the massive celebration when we won the championship.

The most beautiful moments of my life, memories I will never forget.

The conversation with my parents had been awkward, to say the least.

“You’re moving in with who? Your Professor? How old is he!”

“31 Mom, he’s just 31. Dad is ten years older than you, so don’t start. And he isn’t my Professor. He’s a Professor at a college nearby and we are very much in love.”

The story of the crazed librarian who crashed her car seared the newspapers for weeks and finally died down. Thankfully, they never mentioned me.

Apparently, Bruce has a guy who is very good at keeping things quiet.

Bruce asked me to move in with him as soon as he got out of hospital. I didn’t care that it was quick. Thinking you’ve just witnessed someone you love taken away in front of your very eyes makes you realize just how quickly things happen.

“To never wasting another second,” he says, clinking the glass of red wine against mine. I sip deeply, contentedly. We spend some of our weekends on his private island, one of my favorite places in the world, a place where no one can touch us or bother us. A place where we can be ourselves. I drain the rest of my glass but instead of pouring me another he smiles.

He stands up and walks to me, leaning forward to kiss me. It doesn’t take long for us to move to the bedroom and lose the clothes, my hands running along the scar he got on the scariest night of my life.

“Don’t you ever pull something like that again,” I murmur to him as we kiss on the bed.

“I’ll never, ever let you be in danger again,” he growls, his body so strong on top of me, his huge cock sliding into me in one long, satisfying stroke, filling me as our bodies move together in perfect rhythm, unrestrained love and lust as grind ourselves together. I cum almost instantly, moaning out his name but he’s just getting started, his cock bringing me to the edge and over again and again until he finally stiffens and cums so deep inside of me.

“I love you, Olivia,” he says as his seed pours into me and the feeling of the warmth filling me sends me over the edge again into a deep, powerful orgasm, my mind clouded with pleasure as I shake and gasp.

“I love you, Bruce,” I say in the throes of my passion until we are just two sweaty bodies lying on top of each other, wrapped together so tight you can’t see where one starts and the other ends.

We take turns showering and his soaking wet body makes me want another round. Bruce seems to have other plans.

“I have something to show you. Get dressed.”

We get dressed and he walks me out the door and into the spring air. Flowers are blossoming up and the entire island feels like a place of hope and growth. The half-moon illuminates us as we walk towards the dock.

I gasp. There is a trail of candles leading to the end of the dock, and we walk forward together. He is so warm and solid beside me as we step onto the dock between the beautiful light, the ocean endless and glimmering in the moonlight.

And suddenly it’s happening, he’s on his knee in front of me.

“Olivia, you are the one thing in my life that makes me stop needing more. You’re it. You’re everything. When I’m with you, I have more than anyone in the entire world. Will you marry me?”

He opens a box and the diamond is huge, reflecting the light of the stars and sky, brilliant as he reaches forward.

“Yes, yes, yes Bruce, yes,” I say, the giddiness lifting my voice a few octaves. I didn’t expect this, not in a million years but it is perfect. He slides the ring onto my finger and stands and we kiss in the silence of the ocean, two souls where no one else can see us, the moment stretching out in perfection. His lips against mine, every instant both endless and done too quick, the feel of his hands on my cheeks and the cool wind against me solidifying in my mind.

Welcome to the rest of my life.
