Butterflies started up with his pet name for me. It was so sweet and cute and made me feel all small.
I nodded. “Sounds good.” Yes, Daddy.
As soon as he left, I stuck my thumb in my mouth. I didn’t want to be a grown-up today. Facing grown-up problems such as medical bills and bike repairs was too much. I just wanted to be home in my fuzzy pink pajamas watching Disney movies with a stuffie. I wondered how Jake would react to see me holding a stuffie with my thumb in my mouth. He would probably think I was a mental patient.
I sipped my coffee and opened up a coloring app on my phone. It wasn’t exactly a stuffie, but coloring made me feel better anyway.
By the time I finished coloring a picture of a teddy bear, the pain had dimmed to dull aches and pains instead of the agony of earlier. I changed into the sweatpants and t-shirt and went to find Jake. He was staring at his computer screen and rubbing his forehead. I knocked softly on the open door and he jerked his head up.
“Do you still need a few minutes?” I asked. “If so, that’s fine. I can just take an Uber. You’ve already done so much for me—”
“Nonsense, this is nothing.” He smiled. “I want to take you, myself.”
I smiled back slightly, but I felt a pang of anxiety. He was doing a lot for me and would eventually want to collect. I just didn’t know when or how.
Chapter Four
Jake
Katie was already looking a lot healthier than she had last night, but she still couldn’t walk on her own, so I supported some of her weight as she limped to the car. I wanted to carry her, but I sensed that she wanted a little space. I didn’t blame her. I was a stranger, after all. It was natural she would be cautious around me.
I had barely got any work done that morning, because I was too busy thinking about the sweet, vulnerable Little in the next room over. I couldn’t believe she suggested getting an Uber so she would not inconvenience me. The last thing I wanted was for her to walk out of my life any sooner than necessary. Even if she didn’t want me as her Daddy, I still wanted to take care of her, at least until she was better. Hopefully, for even longer.
After a short drive, we reached the hospital. It was a little crowded in there and I could see Katie was getting anxious. Three times she lifted her thumb to her mouth and then dropped it again. I wanted to tell her it was okay to suck it, if it made her feel better, but I didn’t want to embarrass her. After all, she didn’t know I was a Daddy, and she might just think I was making fun of her.
“You sit down in the corner and I’ll check you in, okay? Just relax. I’ll be there in a moment.”
She gave a strained smile and nodded.
I checked her in and took the paperwork back to her. She was completely focused on her phone and I saw she had a coloring app out. If she was my Little, I would have scolded her for being on her phone too much instead of being aware of her surroundings. Instead I handed her the paperwork and sat down next to her.
“It’ll be about 20 minutes,” I told her.
“Thank you,” she said. “You know, you really don’t have to stick around. I know you have work to do and I’m a complete stranger. You’ve already been more than generous with your time. I can just come by later to pick up my uniform and my bike. I kinda just dropped it on your front lawn last night. Sorry about that.”
“Why do you keep trying to get rid of me?” I was genuinely curious. I doubted I was making her truly uncomfortable. She wouldn’t have cuddled up next to me last night, if that was the case. But, barring that, why wouldn’t she want some help? She was hurt after all.
She fidgeted. “I just don’t want to inconvenience you so much.”
“You’re not inconveniencing me, baby girl. I want to be here.”
She looked skeptical but didn’t say anything else. Instead she filled out the paperwork as quickly as she could. I picked up a magazine, but my eyes couldn’t focus on it. I was too busy trying to figure out the mysterious woman next to me. She had walked into my house last night, even though I was a stranger, and she was completely vulnerable. She had curled up on me while she slept last night. Hell, she had even drunk the coffee I gave her this morning, even though I had ample opportunity to drug her if I chose to do so. All of this more than proved that she trusted me, at least not to hurt her.
So, why was she so wary every time I did something even slightly nice for her? What had happened to her that had scared her so badly? My chest tightened at the thought of something happening to her to make her so distrusting.
The doctor called her name and Katie limped over to him. I wanted to follow her so badly, but I had no right to join her for an appointment. I wasn’t family or even a friend, after all; just a stranger who had been in the right place at the right time.
Half an hour later, she returned, a fresh bandage on her forehead and her shin in a walking cast. She was still limping and moving awkwardly, but it looked less painful than it had before. She glanced at me, before going to the front desk to check out. I stood up and approached, just in time to hear her talking to the nurse.
“I don’t have health insurance, but I can pay a little off every time I get my paycheck. It’s been busy lately so the tips have been good.”
“We can set you up on a payment plan, but the debt will gather interest. If you miss payments it’ll hurt your credit score…” The more the nurse spoke the paler Katie looked.
I took out my credit card and reached across Katie to hand it to the nurse. “I’ll pay the balance. Right now.”
The nurse looked surprised and Katie shook her head. “No, no, I can’t let you do that. It’s over a thousand dollars. It’s way too much.”
“I’m paying it whether you like it or not.” I furrowed my brow at her and left no room for argument in my tone.
She blushed and looked down. I didn’t like being so firm with her, when she wasn’t completely comfortable with me, but I wasn’t about to let her ruin herself financially over a couple of X-rays. What was the point of me working so hard if I couldn’t pay someone’s medical bills now and then?
“T—thank you.” She stammered. I hated the fear in her voice. I wanted her to feel completely at ease with me. “I—I’ll pay you back. I promise.”
“Pay me back by joining me for breakfast.”
“I can’t. I need to wash my uniform for work tonight.”
“Call out.”
“What?”
“Your leg is in a cast. You’re not working and potentially hurting yourself even more. Call out.”
“I can’t just call out.”
“Yes. You can.” She pouted, but she had to know I was right. “Look. You can’t work on a broken leg.”
“It’s only fractured.”
I raised an eyebrow and she rolled her eyes. “Fine.”
Damn, I wanted to spank her for rolling her eyes right then.
The nurse handed me back my credit card and we left the hospital. I drove to a cozy little brunch place in a nearby town. It was one of my favorite places to indulge myself, when I had any free time and I felt a rush of pleasure at the thought of treating Katie to a meal here.
She had been silent since the hospital and I was worried I’d overstepped the mark by paying the bill. I couldn’t sum up any remorse at all, though. There was no point in letting her try to kill herself over something I could easily pay off within seconds.
Somehow I would have to let her get used to the idea of me taking care of her.
Chapter Five
Katie
I couldn’t believe Jake paid off my medical bill without even hesitating. Now he was treating me to a fancy restaurant? Probably even a coffee at this place would mean at least an hour of work for me.
I felt safe around Jake and didn’t think for a second that he would hurt me; but everything came at a price and he had already given me so much. I just didn’t know what he would want in return, or if I would be able to give it to him.
The concierge greeted Jake by name, befo
re leading us to a booth in the corner. I couldn’t even imagine coming to a place like this so often that the staff knew your name. It was gorgeous and the scents from the kitchen were heavenly.
“Get whatever you want,” Jake said as he opened up his menu. “It’s my treat.”
“I thought breakfast was supposed to be my way of paying you back.”
“Your company is payment enough.”
None of this made sense. My company was worthless. Why was he wasting his time on me? I ended up choosing the cheapest thing on the menu. It was going to be delicious anyway.
Jake ordered the food for us as well as two lattes. As soon as the server was gone, he turned back to me. “So, Katie, do you have any family? Any pets?”
“No pets, but I have parents living in Florida. We’re not very close. Why do you ask?”
“Well, I wanted to get to know you better.”
“Well, what about you?”
“My parents died when I was twenty.”
“Oh my God, I’m so sorry. I had no idea.”
“It’s all right. I wish they could have lived to see my practice take off, and so I could have offered them some stability and comfort in their golden years; but, unfortunately, I can’t change the past. Why aren’t you close with your parents?”
My stomach churned at the topic. I hated talking about it. I didn’t like people knowing how horrible I was as a child. I was a huge burden, always needing things and pestering my parents, until they had had enough and told me to start contributing to the household for once in my damned life. Even then, I knew that no matter what I did it wasn’t going to make up for the stress I put on them.
I shook my head. “I don’t want to talk about it.”
He nodded. “It’s okay. I understand. Listen, Katie, I have a proposition for you. You’ll have to be out of work for a couple weeks at least, until your leg heals. Why don’t you move in with me during that time? I can take care of you, and pay for your expenses so you won’t have to worry about money while you’re healing up. You can just relax. Do what you want. I can even track down the bastard who hit you. You’re more than within your rights to press charges and I could help you with that. Pro bono of course.”
I couldn’t believe I was hearing him correctly. He wanted to take care of me until I was healed, and he would even find the person that had hit me? No way, it was too much. I would never be able to pay him back for all of this. I was already permanently indebted to my parents and now him.
I shook my head. “No, I promise I’ll be fine. You don’t have to do this.”
“I want to. Please let me take care of you.”
I shook my head. I could feel panic rising inside of me. “No. I’ll just cause trouble for you and be a huge pain in the ass. It’s not worth it.”
“It is to me. Katie, I want to take care of you. Let me. I won’t make you do anything you don’t want to. But it’s been awhile since I’ve taken care of a Little, and I want to take care of you.”
I flushed. He knew? Now, he wanted to take care of me, so did that mean…
“Are you…. Are you…” I couldn’t get the question out.
He nodded. “Yes, baby girl. I’m a Daddy. Let me take care of you. Nothing would make me happier than keeping you safe and comfy.”
I wanted to be with him so badly… but I couldn’t. It wasn’t right to take advantage of him like this. “It’s not a good idea. I’m not a good Little.”
“Who told you that?”
I looked up, surprised. Why would anyone have had to tell me that? It was the truth.
“No one told me that.”
He looked at me sternly. “Listen, baby girl. If you want to stay with me, then you’ll have to follow my rules. The first rule is that you can’t talk badly about yourself. You’re not a bad Little and I want to take care of you. I will take care of you until you’re all healed up. Understand?”
Butterflies fluttered in my stomach and my pussy got a little wet at his commanding tone. I nodded.
“What was that?”
“Yes, Daddy,” I squeaked.
He smiled. “Good girl. Now we’re going to eat a nice breakfast and then we’re going to get everything you need to stay with me, okay?”
I nodded and shivered, loving the commanding tone my new Daddy was giving me.
Chapter Six
Jake
I couldn’t believe Katie agreed to be my Little— platonically, of course. But, watching her face flush with pleasure when I ordered her… it was exhilarating.
After breakfast, we went to her apartment. It was located in a sketchy part of town. My stomach twisted just looking at the disheveled building. The sooner I could get her to the safety and comfort of my house, the better.
“I’ll be only a moment. You can stay in the car,” Katie said.
The hell I would. She was injured and she just expected me to stay in the car? That wasn’t about to happen.
“I’m coming with you.”
“No, you don’t have to—”
“I wasn’t asking, baby girl.”
She blushed and nodded. She needed to get used to me looking out for her. She trusted me, but she shied away every time I tried to do something nice for her. We would have to figure that out sooner rather than later.
Luckily, her apartment was on the ground floor. It was small, cramped, and cold. She shared it with a roommate, who wasn’t home, which gave us time to gather her belongings undisturbed. Katie’s bedroom wasn’t a great deal more cheerful than the rest of the place. An unmade bed that was covered with a ripped, worn quilt took up one corner and a small closet held all of her clothes. The only comfort in the room was a small teddy bear sitting in an old faded armchair in one corner. I added buying more stuffies to the mental checklist of things to do in my head.
As I was packing up her clothes for her, I noticed a neat stack of diapers in one corner of her drawers. It was only then that it occurred to me she hadn’t been changed in awhile.
“Baby girl?” I called out.
Katie poked her head out of the bathroom, a small bag of toiletries in her hand. “Yes?”
I held out a diaper to her. “It’s time for a change, don’t you think?”
She flushed and looked down. “Yes, Daddy,” she whispered.
I smiled. “Go on. I’ll be out here when you’re done.”
“Would… would you change me, Daddy?”
Shock and arousal ran through me. She wanted me to change her diaper for her?
She looked away. “You don’t have to. I don’t want to make you uncomfortable or anything.”
“Oh I want to,” I growled. “But are you sure you’re ready for that, baby?”
She nodded shyly.
I stifled a groan. “Take off your pants and get on the floor, then.”
She obeyed, revealing a little pink diaper underneath the sweatpants. She bit her lip as she shimmied out of the pants, leaving her sweet legs exposed to me. I wanted to run my hands up and down her thighs, and to stroke them, but I couldn’t. She needed a Daddy to take care of her, not a horny bastard wanting to fuck her.
She lay down, careful not to jostle her injured leg. I knelt in between her legs and slowly undid her diaper, my cock getting hard as I revealed her sweet little pussy underneath. I wanted to run my fingers through her soft curls, and to dip a finger into her wet entrance until she gasped. My hands were shaking slightly as I set the old diaper aside and grabbed the fresh one. I cupped her right hip and felt her shiver slightly under my touch.
“Lift your hips up for me, baby girl.”
With me supporting her right hip, she was able to lift up without hurting herself. I slid the fresh diaper under her.
“All right. You can relax.”
Not only did she lie back down, but her face relaxed visibly as well. Pleasure warmed me at the sight of her trusting me enough to take care of her. I put the diaper together.
“All right, baby girl. You’re all clean and com
fy now.”
She giggled and nodded. “Thank you, Daddy.”
“Anytime, baby girl.” God, I wanted to rip that diaper off her and fuck her right there on the ground.
It didn’t take long to gather everything Katie needed. She had few possessions of value, aside from the teddy bear, and there wasn’t anything of sentimental value, which surprised me. She had told me she and her parents weren’t very close, but she really had next to nothing from her childhood. All of her coloring books and children’s picture books were new. There wasn’t a worn book with a handwritten note from a loving grandmother on the inside pages, or even a birthday card. It was as if she was trying to escape her childhood and create a new one.
My chest tightened. My family and I had always struggled to make ends meet and, more than once, there had been tension over whether or not we could keep the lights on that month. But, the house was still full of love and support. My parents cheered the loudest out of everyone at my high school graduation and, when I wanted to ask a girl to prom, my parents ate ramen for every meal for two weeks to save up enough for me to get a rental tux. I wouldn’t want to trade those memories for the world. So, what happened in Katie’s past that made her want to forget everything?
After we gathered everything she needed, we went back to my home. I wanted to spend the rest of the day being her Daddy and taking care of her until she felt better. However, I needed to get some work done. I couldn’t afford to take a full day off, if I didn’t want to be pulling another sixteen-hour day in the near future.
I made her a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch and showed her how to use the TV.
“Just relax and play for the rest of the day, okay? Don’t spend too much time in front of electronic screens. If you need anything, just shout.”
She nodded. “Thanks, Daddy.”
On impulse, I kissed the top of her head, before going to my study. Even as I sat down to a mountain of work, a rare smile crept over my face at the thought of having my sweet Little safe and happy under my care.
