There were three other people in the room, and they were all guards. The room had a lot of metal and there was a big bell on the floor. The guards seemed to be on break and looked unprepared for anything. This was a good chance to get away from the cave, but he would still have to fight his way down through more checkpoints, and it might be hard just using his hands and he contemplated to walk back to the room with the cage to take one of the swords, but he didn’t want to be there ever again. He suddenly saw his own equipment in the room, his backpack and the things he was carrying next to it on a table. The staff was leaning against the wall, and Gon felt that if he was able to get the staff then he could have a better chance of escaping.
The decision became real when one of the guards saw Gon through a mirror, and Gon moved quickly in and closed the door behind him. He ran to the first guard who was fumbling with the sword and grabbed him and held him in front of him as a shield. The other guards tried to advance, but when they did, Gon moved towards the weapon of the guard he was holding. The woman threw a vase towards Gon that hit the wall next to him and the other seized the chance to strike. Gon kicked the guard in the back so he hit another guard, and Gon then reached for a sword on the floor. The other guard wasted no time and struck Gon but was blocked easy, and he advanced towards the guards. Sword were not the preferred weapon of choice for Gon, but he was still very skilled with them. He did have a plan though and made his way through the guards by grabbing a chair and throwing it against one of the guards, and then he was able to strike the guard over the arm to end up on the other side of the room.
He stood in front of the then three guards with weapons. He said the guards would never feel the sun again after this and threw the sword at them. He turned quick and grabbed his staff. The guards attacked and Gon made one of them lose their balance by striking the leg and then blocking the strikes from the swords. He turned and slammed the staff in the head of one of the men that fell down unconscious. The woman tried to throw a knife, but Gon avoided it, and instead, it hit the guard. Gon slammed the staff on the side of the head killing the guard instantly. He ran towards the woman and grabbed her over the shoulder. He threw her towards the bell that was sitting on some wooden pillars. He hit the guard that was trying to get up from the hit on the leg and would be staying on the floor after Gon hit him over the head. Gon grabbed the woman and threw her under the bell and said to her she would be receiving the same treatment as she gave him and hit the pillars so the bell fell over her. He could hear her inside swearing and started to bang on the bell. The noise outside was not too bad but inside, it was very loud. Gon banged six times fast, but then he walked over to the guard who was still awake and killed him with another strike over the head.
The last guard was unconscious so he let him be. Gon put his possessions in the bag except the bag he was given by Master Tiger which he put in his belt and left the room. Gon was ready for a combat since he figured the other guards must have heard him but there was no one in sight. He left quietly but fast and rushed down the hallway. He finally saw the main cave from where he was and realised how big it really was. It had pillars that formed bridges all over, and there was water coming out from the edges of some of the pillars. Even greenery was present and it glowed in the dark cave. He could see the light coming from outside the cave so it must be noon. He entered a door that had a stair going down, and finally saw a couple of guards coming up. He was fast inside one of the many rooms located around the stairs. They walked past and he went out.
When he was almost halfway through, a wall suddenly slid in front of him and another behind leaving him with only one door to go through. He knew this was a trap and that someone knew he left. He entered ready for an ambush, but there was no one inside. He looked around and out the window where he saw the army assemble. A voice was appearing from the door, and Femil was standing with his hands behind his back. He said Gon had done well to have gotten this far but it was time to go back to the cage. Gon walked over with the staff ready to kill Femil but felt a dart hit him in the leg and he thought he must try to fight it. He tried to continue but whatever was in the dart was fast working and when he got another in the back, he fell down. He saw Femil walk closer and telling him to relax and hear him saying not to worry anymore because he would soon meet his wife again.
A few hours later and he woke up inside the room again. The cage had been repaired and was now on the floor. Gon was groggy, but when he saw Femil, he sharpened up immediately and asked how he knew about his wife. Femil ignored the question and said the war had begun and the forces were already engaging the army outside the walls of the mountain. He said some of the advancing forces were taken out by the traps next to the old ruin and had forced them to slow down. The king was on the battlefield and was personally leading the troops. Gon said he would join the troops when they arrived at the gates to help them open them up, but Femil laughed and said he might find himself not needing to since he had prepared a little surprise for the king and left the room.
Gon was confused and wondered what he meant but then saw the young man that cleaned the hallways had come back and Gon asked him to come closer. The man was dumb but careful of Gon and said the woman that was making flags was now deaf and was resting in one of the rooms. Gon asked if the man knew where his things were, but the man didn’t want to talk because he was too afraid of the other guards and wanted to leave. Gon said he would like some food and water, and that they had forgotten to feed him. The man knew how it was to be hungry and said he would remind them but Gon said he would like the man to bring it since he didn’t want to bother the guards when they got ready for war. The man agreed and left to the kitchen to bring some food.
Gon enjoyed the food and thanked the man for it who left to continue cleaning. There was chicken, wine, bread and pork. He also got a pot of water that he hid under a blanket to not let other guards know. He made the man to be quiet and told him it would be better if he brought the food from then on. Another day came and went, and Gon asked again if the man knew where his things were and he only wanted to have them close to him so when they would let him leave after mistakenly holding him, he could just pick his things up and leave for home. The man didn’t know why Gon was in the cage but he was nice to him so he couldn’t be a bad man and the guards must just be careful.
The man looked for the things and found them in one of the rooms and brought them to the room where Gon was. He was told by Gon to hide them so the dust didn’t fall on them and the man did so. He asked the man about the war but the man had only seen the men leave, and some of them were heading towards the mountain. The day went on and the woman was suddenly standing in the doorway. She was covered at the ears and was clearly taken by the fact she was under the bell. She had brought a knife and Gon stood up and told her to relax. She heard nothing and went towards the cage. She tried to stab around the cage and screamed as she did. The young man came in and told her to stop. But she was only seeing Gon, and how she wanted to kill him.
The man walked up to her and tried to stop her but she turned around and stabbed him in the neck. She continued while the man fell on his knees and fell to the side holding his neck. She was blind with rage, and Gon kept avoiding it until a couple of guards rushed in and grabbed the woman and wrestled her to the ground. They brought her with them and were forced to carry the young man who had died from the injury.
Femil arrived a couple of hours later and was happy to hear Gon was still alive in the cage. He had much more plans for him he told him while walking around the cage. He said the advancing army was great and the king had been forced to pull back to the gate of the kingdom. Femil was the head security for the king, but he had always followed his own orders when they required doing so. Femil informed Gon that the king didn’t even know that Gon was up in the cave system and was too focused on the war. He left but put two guards in the same room. Gon at least didn’t have to see the woman again and could sleep undisturbed for a while but listened to the voic
es saying the forces were breaking through. One of the guards came in and told the others that the mountain path had been successful to stop the forces but they had retreated and were taking the wall head on with heavy weapons. There was an enormous canon rolling towards the wall that had the markings of the old forest tribe and they heard the story about the assault in the forest when Prince Theran tried to conquer the forest growing earth stone. The room was quiet since it was surrounded by a thick Mountain, and the noises did not penetrate.
At night, a couple of hours later, the guards brought Gon to one of the rooms where Femil was. He had a rope hanging up and they pulled Gon up so he was hung with his feet almost touching the floor. Femil brought out a whip and started to hit Gon with it. Gon felt the pain and blood was coming out from some of the areas where the whip had hit. The minutes came and went, and after twenty minutes, Femil decided to stop and ordered the guards to bring him back to the cage. Gon fell asleep and lay for four hours until he woke up by the loud voices coming from the hallway. They said the wall had been breached and the army was descending the road towards the castle. The king had retreated and was pulling back all the troops to the castle. Gon thought it was time for him to live long enough to see the Grasoll lands’ army win but didn’t want to die waiting for them to free him. He could only wait for the army and didn’t know where Femil was.
The guards in the room were ordered to leave and join the guards at the bottom of the cave in case the fight drew towards them. Gon believed this was his chance and ran in the cage side to side making it move towards his things. The cage got close, but before he could reach them, some other guards came in and saw what was happening and pulled the cage back and chained it down. Several hours passed by, and Gon listened for the information being passed in the hallways. Kemi was bringing the walls down at the kingdom, and the army was approaching fast. The guards became anxious, and they were suddenly pulled out and told to run down to the great entrance and get ready for attack.
Gon heard the orders for canons to be put in place. He thought to himself he needed to avenge his wife and Femil knew who came back and who was to blame for the attack on Heiwan village. When he was deep in his mind, he suddenly heard a guard screaming that the army was in the cave and a lot of loud booms started to echo through the halls. Gon thought the end was near for the Darcolian land, and he might not get a chance to avenge his wife but suddenly, he heard the voice of the sergeant and he was then standing in front of Gon. He walked around the cage and Gon followed with his eyes. He said Kemi was not as lucky as she thought, and that in fact, he was the reason for the wall breaking down. He puts some things in a bag and said he had weakened the wall with the help of his men who had been working for him. He said there were other people around the world that would benefit off the Darcolia kingdom falling, and it looked like his plan had worked.
Femil stopped and told Gon he had not been honest with him and would like to tell Gon something. Then he said that the king did not know that the village was attacked by the assassins and never gave the order. Gon looked on and listened with the rage building inside of him. Femil continued with that there was a reason he knew who he was. He knew not because he had someone come and tell him, but what Gon didn’t know was that he himself was the one who led the operation. Gon rushed to the bars and swore he would kill him. Femil said also that he was the one that shot the arrow that struck his wife and killed her. Gon was shaking the cage and screamed at Femil. The information about who killed his wife got Gon angrier than ever before, and he started to bend the bars. The fact that Gon was able to do so much damage to the bars was amazing, Femil thought. He put his electric rod at the bars and Gon got a lot of electricity through him. He shook and got thrown back in the cage. A lot of pain went through Gon’s body and he was lying down and had trouble moving.
Femil walked around saying he had to leave back to his home in Besidil and would make it across the land to his father that was a great man but he would kill Gon first. He then stopped and asked if he had heard of the Utame Brotherhood but Gon said nothing. Femil started walking again and said it mattered not since he would die soon. He walked over to a cross bow that was sitting on a wall next to a fire place. Femil kept on talking and told Gon about how he got a position for the king to work for, and how he would have to then walk for a couple of days until he would get a horse disguised as just another villager.
Gon didn’t really hear what he said and only wanted to kill him but with the bag pack so far from him and not being able to move he was in trouble. He moved around towards Femil and looked at him; something was suddenly falling from him and hit the cage floor. He looked at the bag that he forgot he had put in the belt. Femil was grabbing an arrow and continued to talk. Gon took the bag and opened it up and poured out a couple of small pebbles. He looked at them and remembered what Master Tiger said that if he was in serious trouble, he could take them. Gon believed this was, indeed, a serious moment and swallowed the small pebbles fast. It took a further five seconds and Gon’s breathe became fast and Femil’s talking was disappearing in a smudge of sounds and also the vision became blurry. The world around him started to turn and time seemed to slow down. Shadows began to appear from nowhere and some light from other places. He felt almost as if he was getting blinded and then thought he saw someone in the corner of the room. The face was too faint to make out but he could see the features of what he believed was a man with a cane standing there.
Gon saw lightning flash before his eyes, and then the biggest change happened. He came back to normal, but time had stopped and he moved in slow-motion. He saw in front of his eyes how his injuries seemed to disappear, and the muscles grew to a larger size and the pain he felt before was all gone. He looked at Femil and rose up as time started to flow again slowly. He felt energy rushing through him like never before and took aim at Femil. He ran towards the bars of the cage and jumped with great strength towards them. The bars broke down, and Femil turned to see what the noise was. He had just loaded the crossbow and in quick reflex, turned it towards him. He fired it towards Gon but the arrow was slapped away by Gon and then Femil felt Gon’s strong hand and then looked Gon straight in the eyes.
Femil had changed his attitude and now looked very scared. Gon smiled, and without hesitation, he grabbed Femil’s arm and broke it. He then twisted it and tore it completely off from his body. Femil screamed, but Gon proceeded to do the same to the other arm and let it get off Femil who was on his knees screaming in pain. Gon again grabbed his head and said he would make him feel all the pain for a long time. He crushed his jaw so he couldn’t talk anymore and Femil could be heard mumbling. The world around Gon was spinning but he could see clearly in front of him, and his muscles were growing and twitching for every second. Femil mumbled more and it was clear through his eyes that he was terrified. It sounded like he was saying something about his father and money but Gon didn’t care about it since he had the man that killed his wife. He grabbed Femil before he could mumble anything more to lift him up holding his chest so hard several cracks could be heard from inside the body. His hands were twisting the skin and meat off the then scared sergeant. He pulled Femil close to him and head-butted him causing his nose to break and then lifting him up over him and with a slam over the knee, breaking his back.
Gon looked at the man who was bleeding slowly to death and could not move then grabbed his equipment. Before he left, he grabbed the dying man’s head and said it was for his family and spit at Femil’s face and backed away from him. Femil was dying in pain a few seconds later, and Gon felt a sudden relief coming over him. He left the room, and there was so much noise everywhere from the hallways. The small pebbles had made him see further and made him more sensitive to the noise. He could hear someone was coming close through another direction and even voices from long away. The effect finally hit critical point, and he felt the world collide in his head. In a flash of lightning, the world came back to normal. He got focused and felt like himself again.
Calm came over him, and a tear rolled down his cheek and said he had done it and said his wife’s name.
He heard a boom from one of the cannons and everything became clear. He had to help in the war and knew about the machinery in the mountain. If he could destroy it from the inside, he could help. From two directions, he heard voices and all of a sudden, there were four soldiers standing opposite each other with Gon in the middle. He smiled and let go of his bag. He held only his staff in his hand and told them this day would truly be great and for them to come and get him. They attacked, and Gon rushed towards two of them. He knocked them out in just one strike each, and then turned towards the other two that had slowed down but still decided to attack. They were knocked out equally quick, and Gon ran down the hallway towards the noise of the canons.
As he entered another section of the mountain, he saw the woman who was deaf and she was boiling oil to be poured over the advancing troops. She saw him and grabbed a knife to then rush in for a kill. Gon sighed and then slammed the staff in her head hard enough to almost make her lose consciousness. He didn’t know everything about her or the story about her family, but he did know she was not a good person and when she was on the floor, he tipped the boiling oil over her. He left the then dead woman thinking she was now with her family. He killed one other soldier, and then saw the canons that were holding the army at a stand point and ran into the room.
