I hope you loved The Bride and if you did, I would be very grateful if you could write a review. I’d love to hear what you think, and it makes such a difference helping new readers to discover one of my books for the first time.

I love hearing from my readers – you can get in touch on my Facebook page, through Twitter, Goodreads, Instagram or my website.

  We Were Sisters

I turn to where I left my baby in his pushchair and pull up short. With a racing heart, I look around wildly, fear gripping my stomach. I only looked away for a moment. The pushchair and my baby are gone.

Kelly is taking her twin daughters to their first day of school, ushering them into the classroom, her heart breaking to think they might not need her any more, when she turns around and sees that her newborn baby is gone.

As a desperate search ensues, baby Noah is quickly found – parked in front of a different classroom. But when Kelly reaches forward to comfort him, she finds something tucked beside his blanket. A locket that belonged to her sister Freya. A locket Kelly hasn’t seen since the day Freya died.

And then Kelly’s perfectly-ordered life begins to unravel…

We Were Sisters is a heart-pounding suspense thriller that will grip you until the very last page. Fans of Behind Closed Doors, Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train won’t be able to stop reading this incredible book.

Receiving the phone call from Jennifer Hunt, my editor at Bookouture, telling me she loved my debut and would like to publish it was one of those special moments in life I’ll never forget. Three psychological thrillers later, Jennifer and I are still working together, and I couldn’t wish for a better editor. After brainstorming ideas for The Bride, a seed was planted, nurtured and eventually grew into the novel you are reading today. Jennifer’s intuition is second to none, and her input helps to make my books the best they can be. Thanks also to the rest of the Bookouture team, especially Kim Nash and Noelle Holten, who work tirelessly to get my novels in front of readers.

Although our heads are crowded with fictitious characters, we writers would go mad if we didn’t engage with people in real life from time to time. So, once again, I owe a huge thank you to my best writing buddy, Tracy Fells, who is always there for me, whether it be in times of jubilation or crisis. Our monthly teacake and coffee sessions help to keep me sane. Also, thanks are due to my lovely RNA writing pals, with whom I meet regularly to put the writing world to rights!

Sometimes, though, it’s good to get away from the writing world and whenever I feel the need to emerge from my writing cave and talk about something other than the written word, it’s to my ‘Friday Girls’ I turn. Thank you, Carol, Linda, Helen, Barbara and Jill for your twenty plus years of friendship.

The Bride has some police procedure in it and once again it’s the fabulous Graham Bartlett I turned to with questions that I’m sure he thinks are amusing. Any mistakes are entirely my own.

Thanks also to all my family – especially my children, stepchildren and their partners, and my mum, who are always there cheering me on from the sidelines. But my final mention must, as always, go to my long-suffering husband, who is there by my side supporting me, putting up with a house filled with my writing detritus and taking care of the technical side of things which I hate. Thank you, Ian. I couldn’t do it without you!

We – both author and publisher – hope you enjoyed this book. We believe that you can become a reader at any time in your life, but we’d love your help to give the next generation a head start.

Did you know that 9% of children don’t have a book of their own in their home, rising to 13% in disadvantaged families*? We’d like to try to change that by asking you to consider the role you could play in helping to build readers of the future.

We’d love you to get involved by sharing, borrowing, reading, buying or talking about a book with a child in your life and spreading the love of reading. We want to make sure the next generation continues to have access to books, wherever they come from.
