by Tiana Laveen

“For me to be like, ‘fuck it’, pride aside, I want this girl and by any means necessary, I’m going to get her. Look, I’m not like those other fuckers you dealt with. I don’t have any illegal money makin’ schemes. I’m not married and runnin’ around on my wife to be with ya. I was once broke, so I appreciate money and what it can do. But I won’t try to buy you, just make sure you’re comfortable. I know you got your own shit… and I like that. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Still, I’m a little old fashioned I guess when it comes to what a man does for his lady. My father raised me that way and it stuck. If you need something, I’m here. My time isn’t always mine, but I’ll make sure you know how much I care. I like how ya talk to me, how you don’t push me and give me my space. You know when to back off and you’re not weak, so you call me on my shit, too. Doesn’t mean you’ll change my mind, but I respect the fact you let me know how you feel. You understand me, Ivy, so you give me room to swim. That means I’ll be yours forever. You said I swim to ya and swim away, but I do laps. Do you know what a lap is?”

  “Yes.”

“Good, ’cause that is just one big circle… you think I’m gone, but I’m not. I’m comin’ around again, just wait. In fact, I never left. There is no ending or beginning… there’s just me and you. I won’t run around on ya, either. Have I cheated on women I was supposed to be committed to in the past? Hell fuckin’ yeah, but I was younger then, too.”

She couldn’t help but smile. She was listening now, approaching the edge, spreading her arms and about to let herself fall, terrified as she was.

“What about a family, Paxton? You said you think about the house, with the kids, the picket fence and the dog that pisses all over the sidewalk. I have less than a ten percent chance of being able to conceive again so that pretty much is a done deal. I have a low ovarian reserve. Would you really want to be with a woman you can’t have a family with? I mean, I don’t think I’m damaged goods, but I don’t knock any guy who wants children and wants a woman who can make that happen for him.”

“Look, you said you can’t have kids but wanted ’em—I want one or two, too… yeah, I said that and I meant it. But maybe if the time comes and we get that far, we could adopt. A surrogate maybe? Shit, I don’t care, but if things keep going like this, and we keep seein’ eye to eye, I think we can be together for a long ass time. Who said just because I can’t get you pregnant that we can’t have a family? We sure as hell can. There are so many options nowadays. You’d still be the mother of my children whether we made them the good ol’ fashioned way, hired some fertility expert, got with a surrogate or grabbed ’em from half way across the world. Now look, I’m done with this. Either you’re gonna do what’s in your heart or let your brain fuck everything up. What’s life without risk? I don’t need a story written about my life; I just live it, Ivy. Point, blank, period.” He turned away and started flipping the pages of the magazine again, just as casually as he pleased.

Ivy took a deep, long breath and rubbed her head. The attraction to the man went beyond the physical. They’d been on a whirlwind romance that neither anticipated and now, he’d just tripled the chances she could no longer be able to resist. Sure, she was attracted to him, but liking someone and then loving them were two different things. She’d kept her innermost thoughts about how she felt to herself, for she hated being on the hot seat like this. He didn’t ask her to say anything. Probably he’d rather she not say anything at all, especially if what she meant to utter wasn’t to his liking. Emotions so raw swelled within her, bringing her to the brink of tears.

  This wasn’t supposed to happen….

  But it did.

She’d been playing with fire. She knew damn well the temptation was so strong that anything was possible. And she wasn’t talking about face, body, or dick, either…

She was in deep waters, the kind you either drowned in or proved your backstroke was resilient. Paxton at times appeared to be a mere angelfish—flashy, generous and kind. Other times, he was a vicious shark with the bloody mess of his latest victim wedged between his sharp, jagged teeth. Perhaps that had been the problem all along? The shark in him had turned her on, but the angelfish was the one that had won her heart…

  CHAPTER TEN

Sex, Drugs, and Rock ’n Roll

The woman said she’d drank too much wine…

The moon was far too bright, highlighting his weaknesses…

They’d fought in the limo and kissed before, during, and after dinner…

He was going to apologize to her for some of the things he’d said but decided against it. He wasn’t sorry, so why lie?

The beach sand felt soft and squishy between his toes as his feet sank down with each step he took. Their fingers touched, released, but found their way back to Neverland. Dinner had been more than he anticipated. Paxton was finished with his sales pitch. In his mind, he wasn’t for sale in the first place. He was free for her and only her, but first he needed to know if she was worth the aggravation. In his heart of hearts, he believed she was.

She stopped hesitating. Stopped fighting him. That was key to him. If she decided to balk though he would say nothing further and accept his fate. They’d hashed it out. Either she was on board or not; there was nothing more to say.

“Boston accents are unmistakable,” she went on, chuckling as they flirted with one another. “Guys from Jersey, New York, and Boston I can spot a mile away. All different dialects, but really strong. Those voices, geesh.”

“You think I’m somethin’, you should hear my family. You’d lose your mind. I’m the watered-down version compared to them.” He glanced at his phone then slid it back into his pocket. Major sent another text, one of many.

“How long has your brother been your manager?” Her question startled him, as if his worries were printed across his forehead. Major was pissed with him; he’d been ignoring the guy for far too long. But he wanted to enjoy this time with his baby, free from distractions, inquisitions, and inconveniences.

“About five years. I had someone else before him—someone in the business but he was sneaky, didn’t trust him. Major has a way about him. He’s good at stuff like that so I figured…” He shrugged. “Why not?”

“My brother, Theodore—we call him Teddy—manages a night club and helps organize the talent that comes in. He’s good at it.”

He glanced her way, seeing a delighted smile splitting her face.

“You’re proud of him, huh? That’s great. Family is important.”

“Yeah, it is. It’s so nice out here. Romantic.” Their arms swung back and forth, their fingers locked, afraid to let go. “Paxton, what’s your idea of a perfect date?” They stopped walking, but held tight to one another, gazes hooked.

“This.” He gestured all around them. “Walking on the beach under the moonlight, hearing the ocean waves crash against the surf, holdin’ hands, talking about life, love, and liberty.” She chuckled. “Then fuckin’ like porn stars.” Her smile faded when he closed the gap between them and brought her in for a kiss. Then, he pulled away from her and took off his shoes and socks, folding the latter inside his footwear.

“Another swim? You just can’t help yourself, can you?” She giggled when he deposited his pants on the sand, followed by his shirt.

“Ever been naked on the beach?”

“No. Is that a challenge?” He grinned and nodded his head. The second she was disrobed he’d snatched her into his arms.

“Ahhh!” she yelled when he hoisted her in the air.

“Wrap your legs around my neck.” He could feel the woman wobbling, more than likely panic struck. “Cool your jets and just lean forward. Hold onto me.” She squealed and got situated as he made his way closer to the ocean. With steady legs, he entered the sea. The cold water stroked his flesh in fast but gentle jabs, like a rebirth as it swept against his skin. He went deeper and deeper until it was up to his waist, and the tips of her feet touched the soft waves that settled as he grew still. The
moon shone down upon them like a beacon, a spotlight for his next act.

“It’s beautiful out here.” She clasped her warm hands around his neck.

“You can’t beat this, Ivy. To be a part of nature like this is just…I don’t know. It takes my breath away. Vegas is great, but sometimes ya just gotta reconvene with nature, remember where you came from. I feel so chill right now…”

“Me too. I think we both needed this. Together, and individually.”

“I wanna thank you for coming with me at such short notice. I know you had to come up with some excuse for your boss and everything, but I’m sure you’ll have a great story and some good photos to share after it’s all over.” He stole a look up at her over his shoulder. The moon hit her eyes just right, brightening her face up like a flame.

“I jumped at the chance to be here with you, Paxton, and I don’t regret it, permission granted or not.” He fought a smile. “And the story wasn’t my motivation for coming.” He turned and looked up at her once again. “I came because… I am curious about you… because I care about you… because I… want you. I love you, Paxton.” She reached down, wrapped her hands around his cheeks and kissed him. When the kiss ended, he trudged back out of the ocean. His boxers felt heavy, soaked with a salty lick from the ocean’s tongue. He quickly put his clothes on over saturated underwear while she followed suit then they raced off to the limo.

When they arrived at the resort, they set to tear each other apart…

His body was cold from the waist down, and an angry chill layered his flesh with goosebumps. His insides were engulfed with waves of pumping hot blood and torrential passion, which flowed to his mind and cock in a matter of seconds. He sat her down upon a chair, her stripped body exciting him to new heights he never dreamed possible. An adrenaline rush struck him hard as he knelt before her, pushed her thighs apart and curled his tongue, the tip stiff and eager to travel across her wet, warm valley. Cupping her hips, he drew her closer and drank from her—first slow tastes, then pure out and out gluttony. Rihanna’s voice swallowed her moans as she sung the lyrics of “Skin.”

“Cross your legs around my back,” he ordered.

She did as she was told, forcing him deeper, closer. Twisting his tongue against her clit, he coaxed the pink pearl out of hiding, then administered a gentle tug before sliding his finger within her ocean. His tongue swam all around, over and inside her wetlands, and soon her dam broke and the rush of her moisture submerged his mouth with the warm, sweet-saltiness he so craved. He looked up into her eyes as she shook hard, barely holding on, threatening to fall out of the chair. “That’s it, baby…” With a gentle hand, he caressed her hips in slow circular motions, helping her back down to a place of stability, then got to his feet and straddled her.

Gathering a fistful of her long locks, he brought her closer to his need. She wrapped both hands around the base of his hard cock and took it deep into her mouth. Her slurping and sucking sounds sent him on a natural high, her quick tongue making wonderful glides and strides along the head and shaft. He began to thrust upward so she’d take more of him on. Her saliva rained down his cock until his balls grew wet from her prowess. A loud popping noise echoed throughout the room as she pulled him from her mouth, looked up into his eyes and smiled. Still holding his nature steady, she glanced at it, then back at him.

“Your dick… it’s fucking amazing.” She engulfed him once again, this time more vigorously. Greedy, nasty…

“It’s all yours baby… all yours.”

His eyes rolled as he struggled to keep his balance. She was sucking his very soul. He grunted, twisted and groaned as he rested his hand on her shoulder and leaned forward, his hips rotating, thrusting and pumping with brute determination. He gasped when he felt her hands on his ass, pushing him impossibly closer, her need for his cock in overdrive.

“Shit!” he yelled between gritted teeth, then released his bountiful, milky load along her tongue.

When she pulled away, his essence trickled down her chin. She disappeared once again between his legs, sucking the very last of him so righteously, his right leg shook and his knee almost gave out. He burst out laughing in the midst of his climax, the sensations so damn good, he was certain he’d cherish this blowjob for a lifetime.

When she let him go once and for all, he caught her swallowing the last of his love. Hoisting her ass up from the chair and practically dragging her to the bed, he plopped her down unceremoniously, grabbed her by the throat, and layered her face with fervent kisses. Taking urgent hold of his flaccid dick, he stroked it long and hard, needing to be inside her in ways he couldn’t explain, as though his life depended upon it. She sighed and arched against his body when he prodded her slick gateway with the head of his cock, sliding it up and down the juicy slit to the oasis that awaited him beyond the threshold. Beautiful, brown, long limbs tensed as he entered the queendom, slow and easy, until he was balls deep. She never stopped shaking, never stopped humming and grinding against his rotating hips as he called her name a million times… But his heart called her name a billion more.

“I fuckin’ wish I could just stay like this with you forever, Ivy… no worries, no cares. Just us on an island… just the two of us.” He sucked long and hard on the side of her neck, his hand wrapped around it and his dick deep inside her.

“Beautiful dreamer,” she cooed as she shimmied her thighs, pressing against his groin, grinding into his thrusts and meeting him half way with expert precision. “When will you ever wake up?”

“When real life is a dream come true. Why should I wake up before then?” She crushed his lips in a kiss, unraveling him with a simple touch. He thrust, then paused… The world broke into a million stars and they fell down upon them, melting against each other’s hot flesh like snowflakes upon a flame. Finally resting, sweaty, breathing hard and laughing at nothing at all, they wrapped their bodies together, neither one wishing to let go.

There was a period of void, of black light, that crazy thing called sleep. His eyes fluttered when he came to. He guessed he’d been out for about ten minutes, no more than fifteen.

“The night is still young. What do you want to do?” she asked as she stroked his hair and ran her hand lovingly up and down his arm. He looked into her eyes and grinned. He played with her magnificent locks, wrapping them around his fingers then releasing them.

  “A magic trick.”

“What?” Her brow bunched in obvious confusion. “You told me you needed a break from work.”

“I do… but don’t you want to see this dick disappear inside you again?” He hollered when she punched him in the shoulder, then silenced his scream with the softest, sweetest kiss he could ever ask for. “Nah.” He smiled and looked her up and down, checking out his inventory. Yeah, she was his, and that made him proud. “Like I said, we can do whatever you want. It’s not just about me anymore; it’s about us, and this us thing makes me happy…real happy…”

This is all vanilla. I thought it was rocky road with sprinkles and chocolate syrup, but no, it’s bland stuffed in cheap, crumbly cones that fall apart and with an aftertaste that makes me want to gag…

The life Ivy lived was fantastic, full of excitement… or so she thought until she’d met Paxton. He was so full of energy and surprises; her toes were sore from being kept on them while in his presence. He threw sparkles and star-filled confetti every time he opened his mouth.

In public, the man triggered feverish anxiety and exhilaration each time he crossed the stage. In private, Paxton made her pussy swell, slob and hug itself whenever he touched her, and made her weak at the knees when his lips met hers. When she’d answer her phone and it was him on the other end, her stomach would flip like an acrobat. Paxton Starr was the greatest show on Earth… He was all around her even when he was gone, and when they were together, he made her feel like she was the only person in the galaxy that mattered.

“Well?” Eric shouted, pulling her back into the black and white reality of the
newspaper world around her.

“Uh, yeah, it was good. I, uh, gotta lot of information.”

“Great.” He crossed his arms over his chest. “I want to see what you have thus far. Email it to me.”

She swallowed and fidgeted about in her seat as her boss stood over her, looking down at her like some speck of debris that had been fished out from the bottom of someone’s old busted, beat up shoe. She had said nothing to the man, yet her paranoia was heightened from the steely look in Eric’s eyes. No one knew much about Paxton, he made sure of that, but her sweetheart couldn’t stop the endless trail of rumors regarding his sexual prowess and philandering. Eric had certainly obtained knowledge of that, regardless of the information being merely tabloid in nature. She was certain within her soul that the man knew she was getting more than just a story from Mr. Starr.

“It’s still mostly notes, you know, in rough draft form. I’ve been working on the Kennedy story at the same time you see, so I—”

“Yeah.” Eric turned and stormed out of her office. “I want to see what you have by the end of the week, Ivy.” And then he was gone. She sat there for a long while, sweating bullets. Her dark pink cardigan was soon on the floor, snatched off in fury. Getting to her feet, she stormed towards her office door, closed and locked it, and returned to her desk. Seizing up her desk phone, she called Cassidy, hoping and praying her best friend was available for an important powwow, something to put her troubled mind at ease.
