Now the downside to this app, is that not all products are in the system. So if you cannot find the product after searching for it or scanning on it, you can create the product by simply entering its information into the system. If the product scans, but comes up as something different you will have to do some searching, but generally you will be able to find the product you are looking for. It is a time consuming process, but you will be able to see how many calories you are actually putting into your body. Now the app has a premium features that you can pay for where you can track the amount of water you eat, meals you plan out, and more for thirty dollars a year, but I found I was just as content using the basic features of the app for free.

As I mentioned previously, the app once connected to your health accounts will send everything you track to that account. You can also link most exercise apps to this app as well, but I suggest you look at the apps you want to use before downloading this app to see if they are compatible with each other. Yet in the end, this app allows you to accurate track your weight, food, calorie, and exercises in the process of becoming healthy once again.

  Nike Training Club

Now since I started down the path to lose the weight, I had to exercise to help my body increase its metabolism and burn off the fat. Yet I could not afford to join a gym at the time but I needed to do exercise, so one app that was suggested by Apple was Nike Training Club. I looked over the app and its reviews, which ninety-percent I say were positive, and decided to down load it. Now after creating a profile for Nike, I looked over the app itself, where it gave a wide range of different exercises to choose from. You could choose from muscle groups, length you want to exercise choose, or even join a Nike Training Group for live workout events, because the plus side of creating a Nike profile, is that you get this QR code that will allow you to join or find events located near you.

Now a great part of this app, is that you can develop your own plan and tailor it to your needs. You can select what type of plan to use, as well as adding the choice of running and any exercise equipment you may have at home to add it. You could also select how many days you are available to work out and how long you can work out. The app also ask you how often you are working out at that present moment. Once you answer everything, you select create plan. Once the plan is created you will see how the schedule is formulated. If you need to change a day of a workout, you just select edit schedule and move it to what day best suits you. Once you begin the plan, it is an audio and visual guide of exercises. Now some exercises are rep based, or timed exercises, but in the end the plans are beneficial to you

You can also cancel the plan at any time you want, but in most cases, the plans do help you burn calories, fat, and tone up. So I would definitely keep using that app.

  Nike Running Club

Now one of the best apps I have found since starting this diet, is the Nike Run Club app. The reason I enjoy this app is for several reasons. One the simplest of the way the app actually works. After you create an account and link it to your diet app and your phone health data, it will begin tracking any runs or walks you go on. The second reason is that it works with my Spotify account which means I can listen to my playlist while I go for runs and or walks. Finally the app allows you to take pictures while still tracking your steps which many apps have problems doing so.

Now once you reach the screen where the map with your location comes up you could do a couple different things. You can select just to quick start to start your run, you can edit the distance you want to run, or the speed at which you want to run at.

You could also select a variety of different guided runs, or build your own plan to start the process going.

Now no matter what you choose, when you start your run you will get a screen that looks like this. Here you can turn on or off your music, take a photo, pause your run if you need too.

At the end of the run, the data comes up, and once click on share you have a variety of options to share it on different social media platforms. I share it through the Nike website, along with Facebook and Twitter. I sometimes share the route, and sometimes I take a picture and share that, but either way you can share your run through different means.

In the end, I personally enjoy the Nike Run Club app for its ease of use, and easy to navigate around when you are searching for different methods of going for a run.

  Nike Fuel APP

Nike’s Fuel App is an app that tracks your movements with your phone or if you spent the money on the fuel band, however, Nike has since discontinued the use of the fuel band, and spent its money on improving the app for the phone. Since we are a society in which we carry our phones everywhere we go, it makes sense for Nike to just focus on the app itself, and linking it to the apple watch.

Now the Nike Fuel App is simply and easy to use. Once you create a profile for it, you can select your daily goal in which you want to achieve. It can be as low as 1500 to as much as 2400.

Once the goal is set, the phone will begin tracking all your movements throughout the course of the day, and at the end of the day you will check the app to see what the goal you have accomplished. You will see different results depending on your movement, going from normal type which is saying you meet your goal to going to supernova when you really have been moving. Nike has done a great job in which to show your accomplishments for the day. Now whenever you exercise, you can start a session. I generally don’t because the app tracks the movement from the Nike Run app, as well as the Nike training club app, but you can start a session if you would like, but I generally don’t because again the phone tracks the movement from the training club or run app.

Now over the course of the week depending on how active you are, you can see the weekly progress you have done. It’s a great way for you to see how you are doing on the road in getting back to being fit. Now depending on how much you are moving, the app will give you a shout out as you check into on accomplishing certain milestones, such as hitting a million fuel, or passing two million.

In case you were wondering you can also check your monthly and yearly progress as well to see how well you are doing, as well as seeing where you might want to make changes in the quest to get physically fit once again. The app is really well done, and if you are consistent in checking, it you will be pleased to see your progress.

In the end, however you don’t really have to use this app for your goal at becoming fit, but it is a great tool for you to really track your daily movement and see how you are on the progress of becoming fit once again.

  Conclusion

So for me, getting back in shape was a decision that I made after just experimenting with some cellphone apps, but it was my military discipline that really helped me to get back in shape. With the help of Nike and its apps, along with sticking to the diet and accurately tracking my intake, I was able to shed the weight and get back in shape where now I feel better and look better. All anyone of us can do is use the tools presented to us, but it’s that determination and drive to accomplish that goal is what we all need to get back to being Semper Fit.
