Kassandra and Violet were planning to travel to see Kevin, Violet’s father. Violet had stuck close to me for a while, but she seemed to find some understanding with her mother. I was glad to see it.
“Hey, when you decide what you want to do, what school you want to go to,” I said to her, “Let me know.”
She hugged me. “I will.”
“When we find the men who kidnapped you, you’ll have to identify them,” Iliana said. “But other than that, no one should bother you.”
“We will be safe in my home,” Kassandra said. She put an arm around Violet, and I was happy to see that Violet was okay with it.
We couldn’t delay any longer. Althaia opened the portal on the patio, and when we stepped through it, we were in the portal room at Nobledark.
“We’re home,” I said, looking around.
The five of us hugged, and then went to find Madame Karathos. We still had to deal with the people who’d kidnapped Violet, and the agents that were after my mother. But after everything we’d been through—defeating not one, but two gods, and kicking a demon’s ass, I found that I wasn’t worried. Not even a little.
Everything was going to be all right.
I had my loves, and we had a bond that nothing, not even a god, could break. I had a large, noisy, and extremely talented in the kitchen extended family. I had sisters. I had aunties. I had grandparents. For the first time in almost a year, I looked forward to the future.
Together. We’d be together forever.
And anything else, we’d handle.
Together.

Thanks for being with me for Olivia’s story. I really enjoyed dealing with the curse that the sirens had been dealing with for centuries. I woke up from a dream one night thinking that there had to have been some of these women who had managed to get it together, and if the hellways hadn’t been closed, why not? Iliana’s snide comments about the gods brought on the answer. I hope you have enjoyed this as much as I have enjoyed writing it.
