Say Yes (Their Command Series Book 1) Page 4

“Hmm and we have an unwritten rule against consorting with employees.” Logan sat back, contemplating what Noah had just said.

“That is a fucking problem.” Mason looked at his two friends. An unspoken agreement was reached in that moment. Noah wanted a relationship with Alexis, which would sometimes include them. They loved to share their lovers.

Noah had felt an instant attraction to her last night and knew his friends felt the same way now. He watched Alexis, aware that her mind wasn’t with them, but he also knew her sharp brain would pick up on their conversation. He waited for the penny to drop.

He didn’t have to wait long. She craned her neck in their direction.

“Sub? What do you mean by that?”

“Ever heard of Dominant and submissive relationship, Alexis?” Noah asked, watching her closely. Her eyes cleared, and she blinked rapidly.

“Oh no. Oh, HELL no! Forget it. I am not giving up my job to become your slave! And wait a minute. You said their playmate ? You want a relationship with me but . . . share me with them? Hell no! Thanks, but no thanks. I’ll stick with my job, if it’s all the same to you,” Alexis stated regally.

“I’m not interested in a slave, Alexis. I want a sexual submissive; to submit to me sexually; to meet my wants, needs and desires.”

“Yeah, including sharing me with your mates. Are you so vain that you believe I would give up my career to be at your beck and call? Ah-ah, not happening. Not with this woman, it’s not.”

“I didn’t say you have to give up your job, Alexis,” Noah asserted. “But one thing I do know, luv, is that we’re not done yet. Not by a long shot.”

Alexis stared at him. She was mesmerized by his onyx eyes. Inside, she was humming with joy at the revelation that he felt the same way she did. She glanced toward Logan and Mason and her excitement grew. The allure she felt toward them was undeniable and unexplainable at the same time.

Although, my caveman is still in the lead.

Alexis startled at the realization that she’d come to think of Noah as hers.

Shit, Alexis, get a grip! You’re setting yourself up for heartache. He’s not the marrying kind . She frowned to herself. How would that work? What would happen if I wanted a permanent relationship? Where would that leave the other two?

She opened her mouth to ask the question and snapped it closed just as quickly.

Great, you hardly know him and you’re hearing wedding bells already!

She could only imagine what kind of reaction a question like that would invite.

“What devious thoughts are running through your clever mind, Red?” Mason probed. All three men watched her closely and she could feel a blush redden her cheeks.

“My name is Alexis, not Red ,” she informed him, opting for an escape hatch rather than blurt out her thoughts. “And just to set the record straight, I have not been asked to be anyone’s submissive. Do not assume that because of last night, I’m gonna fall in your arms that easily, Noah Harris. Especially, as I have no clue what it means to be in such a relationship—least of all, to be shared with two more,” she ended with a pout on her lips.

She got up and stretched out to her full five-feet-four inches. “I’m here to do a job; one that I aim to excel at. I definitely didn’t come here looking for a relationship. I want to make a success of myself. I don’t have the time to be involved with anyone—least of all, my boss . . . or bosses.”

“I’m afraid that won’t do, Alexis.” Noah’s voice was soft but with the sharpness of a dagger.

  “Look, you don’t understand—”

“No, you don’t understand. What we have is more than just sexual chemistry. I haven’t experience anything like it before and I am not going to walk away from it.” He leaned back in his chair and looked down his aristocratic nose at her. “And I won’t allow you to either.”

“I’m afraid we agree with Noah on this, Red. We’ve never seen him react like this way to any woman. And of course, we can’t deny we are drawn to you as well. It’s more than just attraction,” Mason observed candidly.

“Yeah,” Logan drew the word out as he searched his mind for what they were feeling. “You’re what he needs in his life and I believe we’re going to make some magic as a foursome. So, we’ll be fighting this fight on Noah’s side and we’re not going to let you walk away from it either.”

They’d discussed their future prior to Noah’s expedition to Iceland and his decision to look for a permanent sub. He wanted someone who would fulfill his need for sexual submission, as well as build his future with. A woman strong enough and open-minded enough to accept the role his two friends would play in their lives.

Noah believed he might have found what he was hoping for in this firebrand, Alexis Moore.

  “Look—”

She swallowed her protest when Noah stalked closer so quickly that she sat down again. He crowded over her with his hands against the back of the sofa on either side of her head, just like last night.

“Look, I don’t appreciate your intimidation tactics. So, back off, Noah Harris!”

His response was to lean so close that she could see his swirling onyx irises. His voice deepened and reached in all the way to her soul.

“You’re feisty, Alexis. I appreciated the honesty of how you gave yourself to me last night; without reserve. It’s what they see in you. Understand this, my pet; I want you and I’m going to have you. Nothing and no one is going to stand in my way.”

He kissed her; a quick, hard kiss that shattered her composure. His eyes glowed with unholy promises.

  “Not even you.”

He straightened and drew her up at the same time

“Enough of this. It’s time to work. Please, take a seat, Alexis,” Noah indicated the chair next to his desk. “We’ll discuss this further over dinner tonight.” He waited until she sat down. “Now, tell us about your career to date. Yes, we’ve had the rundown from Felicity, but we want to hear it from you. Why did you decide to leave a well-paid job in the city you grew up in, to come to the mountains?”

“You know the company was bought out by a private entity. At first it seemed wonderful. I got along very well with the new CEO. They didn’t make all that many changes. Unfortunately for me, a couple of months later, the new owner’s niece wanted to move to the US from France and her line of work happened to be in public relations.” She shrugged but couldn’t hide the disappointment she still felt even now. Her ex-boss had begun ill-treating her for not taking the hint and resigning.

“So, nepotism took precedent over loyalty and commitment?” Mason concluded.

“I realized soon enough that I had no other option but to find another job. I love what I do, but to work under unpleasant circumstances . . . well, it takes a toll on any person. Unfortunately, with the recession and downscaling, many companies outsource their PR functions and it wasn’t easy to find what I was looking for. The jobs I did like, didn’t pan out because . . .” She swallowed and drew her shoulders up again.

“The new owner gave you a bad reference because you took your time resigning.” Noah remarked. “Yes, we do reference checks,” he said at her surprised look. “But, there was something about him I didn’t trust, so I called your previous employer. He set our minds to rest.”

They peppered her with questions for another hour. She came to realize that they were no pushovers and took their business seriously. The discussion moved to her duties. Alexis relaxed without realizing it and found that she enjoyed being in their presence. “Very well, Alexis. Can you find your way back to Felicity?” Noah asked while he made some notes in her personnel file.

“Ehm, I’m not sure. She introduced me around on the way here until my head spun.”

“Never mind. I’ll take her,” Mason offered.

“Don’t dally, Mason. We have a meeting with the Olympic ski team in ten minutes.” Logan reminded him.

“Let’s go, Red.” Mason’s hand folded around her elbow as he guided her
down the hallway. She felt the heat of his body as he pressed against her side.

“Ehm, maybe you shouldn’t walk so close, Mr. Walker. We don’t want any gossip.”

He chuckled and before she realized what he was up to, he pressed her in a secluded little alcove.

“What are you . . . mmm,” she moaned as his lips covered hers. Not tentatively or searchingly. No, he floored her mind with so much passion, her toes curled in her shoes. All thoughts of protesting flew out of her mind.

He groaned—loud, feral and erotic. Alexis had never experienced a sound like that and the way it vibrated against her lips, echoing in her mouth, made her feel all powerful. It was unbelievable that she could draw such a reaction from him. She felt the blood course through her—hot and thick, as her skin bloomed under his touch.

“You will learn, Red, that we don’t follow rules. Like Noah said, he wants you and we’re not going to give up until you say yes. Do you know why?”

Her head moved in a negative motion, too enraptured to talk. He whispered in her ear.

“Because if he gets you, it means we get you too. And make no mistake about this, Red, he will share you with us; only us. We love foursomes and you will come to love it too.”

Alexis licked her lips, trembling in after effects of his devastating kiss.

“You don’t know me. We’ve just met. How can you be so sure?”

“Oh, we know , my pet. Believe me, the intense chemistry both Logan and I felt, the moment you walked in, is something that doesn’t happen unless we truly connect with someone.” He brushed his lips over hers. “And if you’re honest with yourself, you felt it too.”

She had already admitted to the attraction she felt for the three men, but Noah Harris was such a compelling man that she was wary. She’d always managed to be the one in control of her relationships. Noah scared her because somehow, her heart seemed to have latched onto him without reserve.

And it was too soon—way too soon!

Alexis would come to learn that the heart didn’t always listen to the mind.

  Chapter Five

Alexis stared at the silver Land Rover with an annoyed pout.

“How can designers of these cars think a normal person can get into these damn things, is beyond me. Let alone someone as short as me,” she observed crossly as she stepped onto the footrest to lift herself in.

Mason solved the problem by picking her up and putting her in the passenger seat.

“That wasn’t necessary. I would’ve . . . oh, very well. Thank you,” she chimed when she caught Noah’s reproachful look.

“Where are we going?” Alexis asked when Noah steered the car in the direction of the exit of the resort instead of the restaurants, as she’d been expecting.

“We don’t want to be disturbed, my pet. We’re having dinner at my lodge.”

Her stomach heaved at the prospect of being alone with the three men.

“I’m not so sure it’s a very good idea to be alone with you all,” she imparted with a frown marring her brow.

“Why is that?” Noah’s attention remained on the road. There were many tight curves up ahead that required his attention.

  “I just don’t.”

“We’re going to discuss our future and what it entails for you as my sub, Alexis. Not really the kind of conversation I’d want to have in a public place.” He slanted a sidelong glance at her. “Especially, should you require some persuading.”

“Look, I told you I’m here to work. I didn’t come here looking for a relationship or heaven forbid, exploring my submissive side, which, I don’t believe I have. I’m way too assertive to be classed as a submissive.”

The three men chuckled. The sound filled the interior of the car with its richness.

“We kinda like your sassiness, Red. As long as you know that Noah will balance it with sexual dominance,” Mason declared from behind her. He ran his hands through the silkiness of her loose hair. “Amazing, how soft your hair feels,” he muttered almost to himself. The ends of the strands curled around his fingers.

Alexis felt the hair at her nape stand up when he buried his face in the luxurious locks.

“I’d love these tresses wrapped around me. Yeah, I’d love to bury my fingers in them when I guide your mouth, while you deep-throat me, my pet.”

Her stomach coiled at the vision his words evoked in her mind.

“And I love your cheekiness,” Logan interceded. He took her hand and lifted it to his lips. Her loins clenched when he licked the sensitive spots between her fingers. “Hell, your bratty behavior is going to be a source of endless pleasure.”

Noah grunted but didn’t join in the banter.

Alexis could only imagine how he would deal with her sassiness. He didn’t seem fazed by the attention his two friends were awarding her. Instead, he had a small smile on his lips as he observed them through the rearview mirror.

She’d done some googling while waiting for them earlier and was wary of what might be in store for her now.

That is, if I were stupid enough to say yes.

Although Domination and submission didn’t automatically add up to a BDSM lifestyle, she somehow had the feeling they indulged in some of those activities. She remembered how Noah had punished her in the shower.

She wondered about the dynamics between the three men. All three were Dominants; she could feel that deep in her gut. But to her, Noah seemed to be the more compelling.

It probably has something to do with having been fucked six ways to Sunday by him last night.

“Do you guys live together?” Alexis asked.

“Nope. We own our own properties in the area.” Mason supplied succinctly. “But it’s close by for work and pleasure purposes.”

“So, you were home last night,” she queried with a backward glance.

“Yes. Noah becomes quite cranky after a long flight and suffers jetlag, and we didn’t feel like listening to his clipped voice all night.” Logan dropped her hand and the two men sat back.

“That explains why you were in such a foul mood when you opened the door. I’m sorry I bothered you,” she said in Noah’s direction.

He took her hand in his and placed it on his thigh, rubbing her palm with his thumb.

“I’m not.” His gaze seared hers briefly. Alexis felt his muscles flex under her hand and was tempted to explore what lay more to the left. It was the first time she felt this comfortable with a man. She felt a desire to entice him into intimacy this time.

“I’d say! Noah has never arrived late for anything in his life and it was quite the revelation, when he did this morning.” Mason jibbed.

Logan nodded his agreement. “You’re refreshingly different from the over eager women trying to get into Noah’s pants.”

“Women do that? I remember you muttering something to that effect last night.” Alexis stared at him.

His snort sounded dismissive. “Some women can’t take no for an answer. I prefer the chase. I hate when women force themselves in my face. Believe me, luv, there have been too many to mention.”

“Yeah and everyone in the community knows we indulge in foursomes. It tends elicit curiosity.” Logan didn’t bother to hide his own annoyance.

“The days of sowing our wild oats are long gone. All we want is to be left alone so we can find women of our choice, who has what it takes to be shared with the three of us.” Mason’s voice deepened.

“Wait! Women to share among the three of you? Are you saying you share all your women all the time?”

Mason laughed at the shock in her voice.

“Don’t look so outraged, Red. We share our subs occasionally and will probably continue to do so for a long time.”

“And that is why I’m here? You believe I might be that woman?” Alexis queried tentatively. As attractive as having wild, hot sex with these three hunks sounded, she was far from ready to settle down and way too possessive to watch Noah fucking another woman.

  “Time will te
ll,” Noah cut in as he parked in front of the lodge. Logan and Mason got out and strolled to the front door, leaving her alone with him.

“Just so that you know, I have no interest in a permanent relationship at this time of my life.” Alexis declared. “And I know it’ll never work. I’ve got a mean possessive streak when it comes to my lovers.”

The glance Noah slanted her way showed his amusement. She cursed sotto voce, not surprised that he didn’t believe her. Her tone hadn’t sounded too convincing—even to her own ears.

“I’m not , Noah. But I’d be a fool to say no to the three of you. And before you make the wrong assumption—no, I’ve not been with more than one guy at a time. Hence, the curiosity. But don’t make the mistake of confusing it with anything more. It’s not gonna happen.”

“Don’t worry, luv. I have infinite patience and besides, you might realize it’s exactly what you want and need; very soon, as a matter of fact.” Noah’s smile was almost indulgent.

  Her scalp tingled in response.

“That’s a vain comment; one that won’t come to fruition.”

“We shall see, my pet. We shall see,” he concluded the debate in a deep voice that trickled all the way into her soul.

Alexis knew it was useless to try and fight it. She watched him walk around the front of the Land Rover to open her door.

He was so different. He was tall, wide and dark, with his shiny mane and trimmed beard, he had an untamed quality to him; like he was predator in the wilds. She couldn’t deny how her heart was thumping in her chest when his large hands enfolded around her waist to lift her down effortlessly.

Her body slid down the length of his body until her feet touched the ground. She flattened her hands on his chest, feeling the rhythmic thud of his heart against her skin. His heat infiltrated her veins to set her libido into top gear.

Just like that! With nothing more than his presence. Oh, fuck me. I’m in so much trouble.

“Yes, luv. Deny it all you want. You feel it too; this instantaneous combustion of your body with mine. Chemistry only goes so far, Alexis. This thing , between us, surpassed mere attraction the moment I stepped against you in the shower.”
