“I saw also the Searcher ship has been reconfigured successfully for a Khorran and Anashi crew, so they should be ready when the rest of their team arrives.”

“That is my understanding as well.”

“I must say, it worried me when Rantara was injured on Esharam, and again when the humans seemed too timid for war, but taken on balance, we have enjoyed considerable ease in this process.”

“It may not remain so, when they get to the Namadi station.”

“Perhaps, but that couldn’t be helped.”

“I will send an alert when they depart for the nebula to finalize preparations.”

“Thank you. We will speak again soon, but please take care of yourself; it begins in earnest now.”

“I will, and I expect the same of you, my dear friend; in a short while, the future of both our people will be decided.”

ROBERT DAVIES is a born-and-raised Michigan kid with an overactive imagination and love of literature that eventually became a disease, curable only through the odd, frustrating therapy of writing fiction. A Navy veteran, musician, private pilot and erstwhile traveler, he crossed oceans and countless borders to find and understand Earth, only to leave it behind in the pages of his first novel. Released from the University of Portland with a Bachelor’s in Journalism, Rob has spent the last twenty years as a contract manager in the information technology and telecommunications industries. He currently lives in southwest Washington with his wife, Stephanie, daughter Natalie and two mildly overbearing female tabbies.
