"That was too easy—if I didn't know better, I'd think you wanted to be caught," Jade teased, kissing Scarlett's neck.

"Duhhh, maybe I gave you too much credit earlier," she moaned as he lapped at her mating mark and ground his erection against her core.

"What were you saying?" he whispered in her ear.

"Something about how marvelous you were and how badly I want you inside me—"

He rubbed his face against her supple skin and grinned. "That's what I thought." He hoisted her up and she wrapped her legs around his torso. He walked them into their bedroom and slammed the door shut.

Tomorrow they will begin their search for answers. Tonight, he was enjoying his mate.

  Epilogue

Jayce paced in his cell as he tried to wrap his mind around what he’d just been told. Gretchen is alive, Nyx.

Aye and she’s our brother’s mate, Nyx plainly pointed out.

No, Talon screeched from the shadows of their mind. He’s manipulated her, abused her and twisted her mind—she is ours.

Jayce shook his head; with Talon hiding away in the recesses of his mind it was much easier for him to think clearly. The more he pondered the situation he found himself in, he was surprised to find that he was happy for his brother. If he could just get this damned vampire out of his head, he would be able to move on with his life—but could Nicoli?

Jayce knew what he had done; he lied, cheated and stole to make sure Gretchen would be his and, in the end, he started a war. He killed innocent people, even if it wasn’t by his own hands. He knew that one day he would pay for his sins. But before he could even consider that he had to get the brother and the woman he had betrayed to help him save the one he loved.

Could he do that before his deeds cost Laria her life? He reached the only conclusion possible; he had to, or he would die trying.

  Afterword

Writing a book is a creative effort made by an author for the entertainment of their readers. But without you, the reader, what purpose would my book serve? I hope that throughout this story you have enjoyed the journey my characters have embarked upon and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read and to support me.

If you’ve enjoyed the tale I’ve begun to weave, you can continue following in book two, Into the Darkness (projected to release in December 2021). Our characters venture along their destined paths riddled with the trials and tribulations of uncertainty. Now that Gretchen has her memories back, what will she do with the information? Will she and Nicoli ever be mated properly in the eyes of the Moon Goddess? Will Jade find a way for his brothers to work together to try to save Rebecca and Laria in time or will it be too late to save Jayce’s potential mate?
