Numa felt more assured, but her muscles were still tense. How fully could she give her body to Soman’s?

“Look at me, Numa,” he said and she was unable to tell which man was speaking. “Let yourself enjoy this. Give yourself fully to your desire.”

With those words, Numa felt a soothing warmth start in her belly and spread out, relaxing her, igniting something within her. “Kiss me,” she said.

In an instant, Soman’s mouth covered hers. As their tongues touched and lips moved together, Numa felt a strange, alternating rhythm. One moment she felt as though she was kissing someone for the first time, then next moment it felt like something she’d always known.

“I have wanted to kiss you that way since I was a boy,” Soman said, his eyes gleaming.

Numa let her fingers venture to his face, touching his lips, and tracing the pulsing vein in his neck. She leaned in and kissed the side of his neck, moving down to the hollow above his collar bone.

Soman’s hands moved down Numa’s back then cupped and squeezed her buttocks. He moaned in her ear and Numa felt the warmth go straight to the point between her legs. She ran her fingers across his enormous shoulders as her lips found his once again.

“Take me to the bed,” she whispered against his lips.

Soman set Numa on the bed then laid down next to her. His eyes smoldered with desire, but Numa could tell he wanted to take his time. Ever so slowly he peeled off Numa’s Iturtian tunic and breeches, devouring every inch of her with his eyes.

Numa set her fingers on the shoulder of Soman’s garment and, using glinting, made it disappear. The sight of his naked body set fire to her deepest parts. He was remarkable. Perfect in every way. And as she trailed her fingers along the ridges of his abdomen, she saw the shadows of scars emerge there as well.

Soman rolled on top of Numa then and she opened her legs in welcome. Before he penetrated her, he looked deep into her eyes. “I love you,” he said, his eyes a perfect mixture of Soman’s and Gemynd’s.

“And I love you,” she said to both of them.

Numa inhaled and arched her hips as he entered her. She was wrapped and entangled in a force of love so powerful, she could scarcely hold her being together. Every bit of her was alight with ecstasy and she felt certain her climax would send her Lifeforce across the furthest reaches of Todor.

She dug her fingers into Soman’s back, holding tight as she erupted in perfect pleasure.

Numa closed her eyes, becoming one with her own climax as well as Soman’s and Gemynd’s. In that moment, she flew through time, watching the story of Todor unfold before her. She saw Toa grow into a young woman and take the crown. She watched the bodies of loved ones die. First Keeper Sam, then Tatparo, then Soman. Just as quickly, Numa moved backward in time. She saw herself as a girl in Aerie, Gemynd’s dagger, and the Feast of Sevens. She went further back and saw the Baldaquin tree as a sapling and Aerie before there was a Wishing Hut.

As Numa watched, she saw Progon, Radine, and Fyrmen gathered around the wishing stone. Numa willed her disembodied self there to speak with them.

Radine bowed deeply as she approached. “You have arrived at last,” she said. “Then you have succeeded in saving creation.”

“We have,” Numa answered, fully understanding that she did not create her vision of Todor alone. She smiled at the Empyrean, Zobanite, and Iturtian who now stood before her, knowing that their time was necessary, but had come to an end.

“The time for separation is over,” Progon said with a smile.

“You are the first of the separate races of Todor, and we are the last,” she agreed and a heady feeling of power overtook her. At last, she knew what it meant to choose her perception. “I choose Oneness for Todor.”

Instantly, Numa was back in the bed with Soman and Gemynd, still riding the waves of ecstasy. She saw their Lifeforce as clearly as before only this time, Soman’s was red and Gemynd’s was blue. Numa realized her own was green.

“We are the flames of the Deis,” she said and began merging with them, their separate-colored flames spinning into a single golden light. “We are One.”

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Author, healer, all-around kook, Jenna Newell Hiott boasts of having a limitless imagination, unless it’s naptime. While many of us had an imaginary friend as children, Jenna had an entire imaginary family—complete with a second set of parents and three siblings—all of whom lived in a make-believe world of Jenna’s own creation. One could say she’s been writing fantasy fiction since she was old enough to use words. And she never outgrew it. Out of this hyperactive imagination, and a life steeped in metaphysics, Jenna created the land of Todor: a world of magic, intrigue, and power plays.

She currently lives in the Land of Enchantment with her husband, son, dog and two cats.
