He drew back.
She let out a pained cry. “No! Go back! I was close.”
“I know, love. That’s why I drew back.”
He teased her again. Tortured her up to the edge then pulled back. Her cry was loud. A wail.
“Nooo. That’s so mean.”
With a grin, he flicked her clit. Softly. Gently. Her small whimpers made his cock weep with pre-cum. Fuck. He was torturing himself. When he couldn’t wait much longer, he took her up and over the edge. As her cries of release filled the room as drove himself deep inside her.
Her passage clenched down around him, nearly making him come on the first thrust.
Fuck. That would be embarrassing. He took a moment, breathed in deep. Found his center.
“Wrap your legs around me, love. Hold on tight.”
“Always, Sir. Always.”
It didn’t take long until he shattered, his roar of release erupting from him as he came, collapsing on top of her, his heart racing, sweat coating his skin. She ran her hands up and down his back until he managed to find the energy to roll to his side.
“Christ, I can’t move. I need to get up. Shower. Get ready,” he muttered.
“Ooh, yes. Shower sex.”
He huffed out a laugh. “Love, you’re gonna kill me.”
She felt nervous as she walked into the reception area. Archer had planned on coming home to get her before they went out to dinner, but he’d called earlier to say he was running late and he’d send a car for her.
First time she’d ever had a town car sent for her. She smoothed down her teal-colored dress. She hoped it was good enough for wherever they were going.
She wasn’t used to fancy dinners. But it was what Archer liked. And she wanted to give him what he liked. Especially, since he wouldn’t have as much opportunity for nice dinners out when they were at Sanctuary.
His PA looked up as she approached. What was her name again? Susan, that was it. She barely recognized her as the same woman at the BDSM club the other night. She felt slightly awkward about the whole thing.
“Yes?” the other woman said coldly.
“I’m here to meet Archer,” she replied, taken aback. “We’re going out for dinner.”
Susan looked her up and down and the look in her eyes said that she didn’t approve of what Caley wore.
Something inside her started to shrivel. Then she reminded herself that she didn’t care what this woman thought. She was nothing to her. Caley tilted her chin up.
“He’ll be out soon.” Susan stood. Then leaned over her desk. “You know you won’t last, right?”
She blinked at the other woman. “Excuse me?”
“I know you’ve been chasing him. Getting injured so he’d come rushing to you was a good play. Seems it worked. For now.”
She thought Caley got injured on purpose? Who the hell did that?
“You didn’t forget to give him that message, did you?” she asked as it all clicked. “You purposefully didn’t give it to him.”
Susan sniffed. “I’ve known Archer a long time. Women never last. They come and go quickly, but I’ve always remained. He’ll realize he’s slumming it and come back.”
She had a crush on him. Something like pity stirred inside Caley. “He’s quit his job. He’s moving away. He’s not coming back.”
Susan narrowed her gaze. “You are delusional, aren’t you? My dear, you’re not going to hold onto him. He’s only with you because of his brother. I know what you are.”
“What I am?” Okay, that pity was disappearing. Fast.
“I know you’re a Little.” She sneered at Caley. “Heard Hunter Black say it to his wife.”
A gut punch. She sucked in a breath. Susan’s disdain was clear. Which was odd when she was a sub herself. Somehow, she thought it would make the other woman less judgmental about Caley’s needs and desires.
“Archer doesn’t need someone like you. He’s not into that,” she spat out. “And look at you, you’re hardly his type. You’re a country bumpkin when he’s style and class. All I have to do is wait you out and he’ll come crawling back to me.”
Her mouth was dry. Her heartbeat going too fast. Part of her wanted to run and hide. Part of her agreed with the other woman.
Except…he came for her when she was injured. He sat by her side all night. Held her through her nightmares. He wanted her. He loved her. Just a few hours ago, he’d made love to her.
And he wasn’t ashamed or disgusted by her Little.
So why should Caley be? She thrust her shoulders back. “That’s where you’re wrong. I am exactly who Archer wants. How long has he known you?”
“Years,” Susan said proudly.
“Years. And yet he’s never once made a move on you, right? He’s known me for less than two months and he’s moving halfway across the country for me.”
Susan flinched. Caley felt a bit bad, but the other woman started it.
“I could ruin you. I could ruin his career. Tell everyone about the three of you. About what you are.”
“We’re all consenting adults.”
“Do you think people care? They’ll think you’re perverted. You’ll ruin him.”
“Go ahead,” a deep voice said from behind Susan. She paled.
Caley jumped and looked over to see Archer standing there. How had she not noticed him? How much had he heard?
“W-what?” Susan asked.
“You can try to ruin my career. Although I doubt you will. People would actually have to care what you said. Thing is, though, at my new job nobody will care about the muttering of a disgruntled, bitchy personal assistant.” Archer moved around Susan to stand by Caley. He pulled her in against him. “I am glad to learn about your true nature before I left, Susan. I’ll be sure to let Hunter know about your opinion of Littles. And your loose tongue outside the club.”
Susan flinched then her gaze narrowed. “You care! You can’t not care! When you come back—”
“I’m not coming back,” he replied. “Goodbye, Susan. I hope to never see you again.” He drew Caley against him, his arm firmly around her waist and turned them towards the door.
“Your parents will care!” she spat out. “They’ll want to know.”
“Good Lord, I’m a grown man and she thinks I care about what my parents think?” he said loudly to Caley, winking down at her. The door closed on Susan’s sputtering.
He led her towards the elevator.
“Good girl,” he murmured quietly. “Not too much further. Just hold it together.”
The elevator dinged open and he stepped inside, drawing her with him. He tapped the B for basement and then once the doors were closed, she collapsed against him.
“Caley, baby, I’m so sorry.” He ran his hand up and down her back. “You’re safe. I have you. You’re safe.”
She knew she was safe. She always was with him. Why was he saying that?
Maybe because you’re shaking.
Oh, right.
“Caley? Talk to me, love. You’re not crying, are you?”
She buried her face against his chest.
“Baby, it’s all right. Just hold it together. You’re safe. I’m not going to let anything happen to you. Papa’s here.”
She tensed. Papa?
Something tickled at the back of her mind. She’d thought it was a dream, though. She leaned back to look up at him. “Papa?”
Red filled his cheeks. “Didn’t mean to blurt that out like that.”
“I heard you call yourself that. At the hospital. But I thought it was part of my dream.”
He ran his hand over her hair. “It wasn’t. Umm, can we table that for the moment and go back to what happened. Are you all right? You’re not upset?”
“I’m not upset. I’m fucking livid.” She’d get back to the Papa stuff soon. “That…that bitch!”
She was vaguely aware of his eyes widening.
“How dare she! Who does she think she is? Where does she get off threatening
to tell your parents! I ought to go back there and kick her ass!”
Suddenly, she realized how quiet and still he was. She froze. Had she said the wrong thing? Then he shocked her by throwing his head back and laughing.
“Hey! What’s so funny?”
He wiped the tears off his cheeks. “Forgive me. It’s just…I was expecting you to freak out not threaten to go kick Susan’s ass.”
Her cheeks grew red. “Sorry.”
“Hey, you have nothing to be sorry about.” He reached out and tipped up her chin. “You have every right to be mad. And I think in this case, anger is good. A few months ago, how do you think you would have reacted?”
She thought that over as the elevator opened and he took her hand, leading her to his car. He opened the passenger door, even doing up her seatbelt.
When he started up the car, she turned to him. “I might have frozen. Or panicked. Felt ashamed or scared. I did kind of feel like that. But then it turned to anger over her threats. She made me so mad.”
He grabbed hold of her thigh. “That’s why I’m so proud of you. You didn’t let what she said to you make you spiral back to how they made you feel.”
“I didn’t, did I?”
“I’m proud of you, baby.”
Happiness filled her. Then she frowned as she thought about Susan’s threats. “Are you worried? Do you think she’ll tell your parents about us? About me?”
Anxiety stirred at the thought of what his parents would think. Would they disown him like they had Issy?
He stopped at a light and looked over at her. “I don’t care if she does.”
“Are you sure?” She nibbled at her lower lip.
He reached out to free her lip. “I’m very sure. If they react badly then that’s their issue, not mine. However, I think it’s better that I tell them myself.”
She nodded. She was glad she didn’t have to have that conversation. And she was worried about his relationship with his parents. But he was right. She couldn’t control their reactions.
“You are the most important thing in my life, Caley. If they can’t accept you or Isaac being in my life then I don’t need them in mine. I’m not some young kid. I know what I want. Now that I have you, nothing is taking you from me.”
She let the last of her worries flitter away. He moved forward as the light went green.
“So where’s dinner? And am I dressed all right?”
“You know what? I don’t think I feel like going out for dinner anymore. What say we get some drive-through, go home and you can show me what exactly is under that very sexy dress?”
“I’d say that sounds perfect.”

Caley listened to his heart beat as she lay against his chest. She felt sated. Tired. Slightly sore, because boy, someone seemed to be trying out every position in the Kama Sutra tonight.
But so happy she could melt.
“I have something for you,” he murmured.
Did it have something to do with him calling himself Papa in the elevator earlier? “You do?”
He wiggled out from under her and moved towards the wardrobe. She ogled his amazing ass for a moment.
“But Archer, you’ve given me so much already.” Some of which went up in flames in her cabin. She still hadn’t heard from the fire marshal about the fire.
“You deserve so much more.”
He turned with a large, wrapped box in his hands. He walked back, setting it down on the bed in front of her. It was quite large and she moved onto her knees to tear into the paper. Archer chuckled as bits of paper went everywhere.
“Issy would have a fit at this.”
She just grinned. Then she lifted the lid of the box, surprised by the coloring book and pens inside. The coloring book wasn’t an adult one, but rather a child’s one with pictures on animals on the front. The pens were scented. She drew them out, setting them on the bed.
“Archer, these are so cute.”
“Glad you like it. Keep going.”
She looked again, pulling out an over-sized pacifier that was obviously for an adult. She blushed slightly. Was this his way of saying he was okay with her Little? She already knew that.
“That’s to stop you from sucking your thumb.”
She pouted slightly at that.
The next thing she drew out was a tube of bubbles. Ooh fun! She guessed she’d have to wait until Daddy returned to blow them, though.
The last thing was a nightie. It was soft, teal-colored and across the front were the words,
Papa’s little girl
She sucked in a breath. Then she looked up at him as she held the nightie to her chest. “Archer?”
He cleared his throat and shuffled his weight back and forth. She’d never seen him look so nervous. “I…I never thought I was a Daddy Dom. Didn’t think that was my thing. Until I met you. Then something came awake inside me. I tried to push it aside. But it kept building and building. I want to be your Daddy, little girl. Except, I figured two Daddies might be confusing. So will you accept me as your Papa?”
“You don’t have to do this,” she whispered.
“I know that. I’m not doing this because I have to. No, that’s not right.” He sat on the bed, facing her. “I’m doing this because it’s what I want. It’s a big part of who you are. And I need to give that to you. But I know you could get that from Issy and I’m not doing it because I think I have to in order to be equal in your heart.”
“You’re both equal in my heart.”
He smiled gently, reaching over to squeeze her leg. “And I’m so grateful for that. I’m doing this because it feels right. I’ve loved you, perhaps since the moment I met you. This part of me, it wasn’t an instant change, it’s not something I’m jumping into. It’s something I want and desire. To be your Papa. So, will you have me?”
She threw herself into his arms. “Yes, yes, yes!”
He laughed, pulling her onto his lap and squeezing her tight. “Well, thank God for that. Now, you might have to be patient with me. I don’t have a lot of practice.”
“You can have all the practice with me you need, Papa.” She dropped her head back and he kissed her lips lightly.
“Does this mean I can play with the bubbles now!” she squealed.
“I don’t think so, poppet. It’s bedtime not playtime. And Daddy left me a list of instructions for your care. I’m already in trouble for not putting you to bed on time.”
She pouted. Drat. She had a feeling it wasn’t going to take him long at all to work out this Daddy stuff.
Archer finished washing the suds off her breasts, trying not to let the sight stir him.
Well, not too much.
He was only human after all. But he knew she was exhausted. He’d kept her up too late. He’d need to put her down for a nap tomorrow.
It still surprised him how much satisfaction he got at the thought of taking care of her like that.
“Right, stand up, poppet.” He grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her before lifting her out of the bath. He then dried her off thoroughly.
“Can I sleep in my new nightie, Papa?” she asked with a big yawn. She wiped at her eyes.
That was damn adorable.
He didn’t know if he’d be this way with anyone else or if it was just Caley.
Didn’t matter since there was never going to be anyone else for him.
“Of course you can, poppet.”
Once she was dry, he picked her up and carried her, naked, out into the bedroom where he set her on the bed.
“Lay back, poppet, and I’ll put your panties on.”
She lay back tiredly, reaching for snuggly and pulling the piece of material close. Her thumb went into her mouth and he reached over and grabbed the pacifier he’d bought her. She pouted a bit but opened her mouth and took it.
Yep. Adorable.
He put clean panties on her, then sat her up to put her nightie on. Another wave of satisfaction. Funny, he was more used to taking clot
hes off women than dressing them.
But then, no one was like Caley.
He set a pillow on the floor. “Sit there, poppet. I’ll get your hairbrush and braid your hair. Then I’ll give you a bottle and put you to bed.”
She removed the pacifier. “Yes, Papa.”
She sat on the floor between his legs and he brushed out her hair. When it was tamed, he started to braid it.
“You’re good at this, Papa.”
“Oh, yeah?”
“Uh-huh. Don’t tell Daddy, but he tugs too hard.”
Archer had to grin at that. It was maybe a bit childish, but he liked that he was better at something than Issy when it came to her care.
“Right, let’s get you into bed, poppet. I’ll make your bottle.”
“Umm…” She stood then hesitated.
“What is it?” He stood as well, staring down at her.
“I gots to do my teeth and go potty first,” she whispered.
He shook his head. “Sorry, poppet, of course you do. Remember, I’m new to this stuff. I’m going to forget things. If you need something, you have to tell me, all right?”
“Okay, Papa.”
“Good girl. Go do what you need to, I’ll meet you back here.”
When he returned with her bottle, she was lying on her side rubbing snuggly against her nose. The pacifier sat on the nightstand.
“Uh-uh, you’re to use your pacifier, poppet. I catch you sucking your thumb instead and you’ll find yourself over my knee.”
She gave him big, puppy dog eyes but he kept his face stern. Finally she sighed and removed her thumb. “Okay, Papa.”
He lay on the bed next to her, pulling her into his chest and feeding her the bottle.
Yeah. He could really get used to this.
She woke with a gasp. Sweat coated her skin and she was shivering. She looked around, disorientated. Where was she? What was going on?
Finally, her brain clicked into gear and her memory returned. She was in Archer’s penthouse apartment.
He’d done pretty well at getting her settled and off to sleep. She’d wondered if she would have a nightmare after that run-in with Susan. Damn it. She pushed the covers back quietly and stood. Unfortunately, she didn’t think she would be going back to sleep anytime soon. She walked into the living room, to stare out the big window at the twinkling lights of Dallas.
