The Preacher’s Son

“Jeremy,” one reporter said, “I understand you and Joan will be doing a movie. Are the two of you an item?”
Jeremy smiled. “No, our relationship is strictly professional. I’ll be taking my vows with the love of my life in just a couple of weeks,” he said.
“Really? Is she here? Who’s the lucky girl?” the reporter asked.
Jeremy walked over to Aura and put his arm around her waist. “This is Aura. Isn’t she beautiful?”
They took a few shots, and Jeremy bent down and kissed her. Aura could hear more cameras going off.
“So, I’m the love of your life, huh?” she said, smiling.
“Yep!” he said. “That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it. I’m ready for this wedding, and I am ready to declare my love to the whole world… especially to your grandmother. I know she’s probably watching this on television.”
Aura laughed. “What about your father?”
Jeremy thought for a moment. “I do believe that my father is the happiest man alive right now. Finally the time has arrived that I know he’ll be happy to point me out to folks and tell them proudly that I’m the preacher’s son.”
Aura smiled. She couldn’t agree more.
