“It is,” he agreed.
“We can organize a wedding now,” Cherry said.
“We can,” Max said. “Anything Sasha wants.”
Which was how the minister at the human village on Hissing Isle stood before them a week later. Both humans and dragons packed the church, their high spirits resounding through the interior. The late afternoon sun glinted through the rose window above them. Max held Sasha’s hands in his and repeated his vows.
Sasha grinned at him, her dragon reflected in her eyes as she accepted him as her husband.
“You may now kiss the bride,” Allen said, his eyes twinkling as several cheers rang out in the church interior.
Max took Sasha in his arms and kissed her gently before deepening the contact. Shouts and applause filled the church—a few wolf-whistles. Max pulled away from Sasha, and as one, they turned to face their friends and family.
“I love you, Sasha,” Max murmured.
“I know,” Sasha said. “Right back at you.”
“Of course you love us,” Sasha’s dragon retorted as they walked down the aisle. “We’re gorgeous.”
And that was the truth, Max thought as they received congratulations. He was a lucky man, since he’d enjoyed the entire journey with Sasha. Now, their future lay before them, and Max couldn’t wait to experience the rest of the adventure with his wife and mate at his side.
