More than Winning (Cowboys and Angels Book 0) Page 4

by Anjelica Grace

As we hear the stirrings of our daughters coming from their rooms, and then their voices racing down the hall, I wrap Allie in my arms, splaying my hands over her stomach, and we wait.

Ava appears first, with Aubrey following hot on her heels. Allie and I say in unison, “Merry Christmas!”

The girls blow past us on their way to the tree and their presents, but they each still manage to shout in return, “Merry Christmas, Mommy and Daddy!”

This year is proving to be the most magical and wonderful Christmas we’ve ever had, but I know deep down that next year, when it’s the five of us, it will be even better.

  The End

Read Chase and Allie’s Full-length novel “Hold on Tight” (Cowboys & Angels Book 1) and find out what happens in their story next!

“Never Let Go” (Cowboys & Angels Book 2) featuring Chase’s best friend, Cody, is available for Purchase Now.

  Acknowledgements

To the tribe of ladies that were a part of the anthology that this short story first appeared in, I adore you all, I’m grateful for having been able to take this first step into publishing with all of your support and encouragement.

To my betas, thank you for being the first to read this, helping me make it better, and loving Chase and Allie enough to encourage me to write a full story for them.

To my amazing editor, Karen, you are pretty much my favorite person in this whole writing process. You make the messes that sometimes happen with my words and grammar so much tidier and oh so pretty. Thank you!

To the readers that took a chance on a brand-new author, and Chase and Allie’s short story—thank you all! Words will never be enough to convey how much I appreciate you giving me the chance!

  About Anjelica Grace

I was born and raised about twenty minutes north of Denver, Colorado where school and soccer were always my primary focus growing up, though I read and wrote as often as humanly possible outside of those obligations too. Books were where I could escape and live in other worlds for a while, and even at a young age, they were my hiding place when life got to be too much. I stayed local for college and majored in Biology, with every intention of going to medical school. But life threw me curveballs and things changed. And I realized there were other things in life that I wanted more—like finally finishing a book and publishing it for everyone to read. So here I am, living out one of my biggest dreams writing one word at a time. Thank you for taking a chance on me.
