“Then I saw our two babies being born in Cibrac. Shemon and you were with me, I couldn’t see who else.”

He closed his eyes in gratitude and squeezed her hand to continue.

“The boy is born first and then our daughter. Both are healthy, Wylan.”

“Thank the Gods, Melane.” His lips brushed her brow, he could see that her breathing had increased, making him worry. “Go on, what else did you see.”

“Evil Wylan, so much danger for the babies. The same darkness that took Sabrina and my brother, and the one like I saw at Moondock when Dragon was trying to kill you. Two very powerful evils Wylan. Narmar, it must be her, and Dragon. They will try to kill our babies Wylan, steal them away and destroy them! Just as Narmar did to my brother and mother!”

He gathered her to him, kissing her flushed face to calm her down. His own chest expanded in anger for what he knew was coming. “It is alright Melane, we will stop them. No one will hurt our children, no one!”

For as long as Melane could remember she finally felt at peace and safe. To be held in Wylan’s arms, feel him touching her, Melane finally felt whole.

  “Wylan, I love you.”

His lips pulled back as he looked down at her. Melane’s gaze rose to meet his, “Yes, I love you.”

Her finger reached up and caught the single tear that escaped from the corner of his eye, she looked back at him, watching as his lips smiled. “I’ve waited a lifetime to hear you say that Melane, a lifetime. Will you be my lifemate, my partner in all things, Melane?”

Her lips tremble as she answered “Yes Wylan, I will be your partner in all things and your lifemate.”

His lips sealed their vows, vows only the two of them needed, as they were all that mattered.

Melane’s head fell back as Wylan’s kiss went beyond her lips, exploring her as if he could fuse every fine detail of her inside him by touching her. The feelings he created heightened her senses as her body responded to him, every nerve and fiber of her being came alive to his masterful touch. The warmth of his mouth as he tasted her, explored her stomach and drove her wild with rising passion. She could feel her sex contract in wanting and the warm flow of fluids readying her passage for him and she wanted the full hard length of his shaft to fill her. “Wylan I need to feel you inside of me!”

Her hips rose and moved her wet lips over his rigid shaft making him groan in desire to answer call. “Patience my little warrior, I want to show you what loving can really be like.”

Wylan arched his back against the rake of her nails down his spine. He looked into the fierce glare she held him in, knowing exactly what he was doing to her body. He smiled down at her as his fingers entered the slick opening of her sex, with his thumb he played over her pleasuring nub as his finger entered and drew out the cream of her excitement.

Melane refused to lie there and not partake of their joining. Her fingers moved over the solid contours of his muscled chest and across his rippled stomach. She bit her lips over the low groan of pleasure her touch created in him. Lower she went until her fine hand closed about the width of his wild rod and filled her hold with the power. She gloried in holding him, moving over the full length even touching the damp opening at his swollen head. She enjoyed the way her finger rolled over it, teasing his sex and making his fluids flow as he did her own. “Together Wylan.”

She smiled as his half closed eyes gaze upon her, devouring her in the fire lighting his beautiful eyes. “Fill me, touch my womb and make me shiver with loving for you.”

“Gladly my love, my warrior!” Wylan moved over her, running his hands over the firm mound of his children inside of the elamie he cherished. He would be glad when they joined their parents, for his wildness to love her wouldn’t be sated until he could mount her without caution for their presence.

“Bella says it is safe until the last moon shadow for an elamie and a Selam to mate.”

He looked up at her with a wild untamed spark that made Melane take a sharp breath. She couldn’t see where his hands were over her stomach and bit her lip as she felt one finger stroke her in that sensitive place.

Watching her enjoy his ministrations made his shaft jump in yearning, but Wylan wasn’t ready to pleasure them both quite yet, he wanted to pleasure Melane as he always dreamed of doing to her.

She gasped and tried to raise her head as she felt his lips kiss her where his touch once played. “Wylan?”

“Hush my love, trust me, you will like this very much.”

The strength left her as she became a vessel of pure feeling. His tongue licked over the swollen nub of pleasure, causing her to arch into him allowing his lips to lock on her and suckle her there. Feelings she never believed possible flowed through her, surrounding her womb and moving upward until the very tips of her breasts harden in stunning pleasure. As if he knew what she felt, one of his hands covered and kneaded the wanton nipples, while Wylan pleasured her sex. She felt his tongue plunge inside her and she cried out in surprise and ecstasy. Her fingers gripped his hair, not sure whether to pull him away or push him further, then just holding on as her world exploded in waves of sensations. Like the rolling waves that raced in to hit the cliffs of Moondock, every suckle, and every plunge of his tongue pushed waves of sensations through her, his fingers laced with hers to hold her to the earth as he slowly, gentled the waves before easing her thighs open to accept him.

His hands massaged away the contractions moving over her womb, soothing the last of her climax, sensing that she was ready to go on, Wylan let his other hand stroke her sensitive nub once again drawing the fluids out for his entrance. Her eyes were still closed, he watched as she licked her lips as if savoring the last of her first climax. “I see my little warrior has tasted her first battle in making love.”

She smiled at him, “and this particular warrior is ready for more than the skirmish, my king.”

“Then I won’t keep you waiting any longer.” With that Wylan held her, raising her hips to receive his full erection. With infinite care he began to enter her, slowly pushing into her, watching to be sure she neither flinched nor showed any sign of discomfort. She closed her legs around him with such tightness and her body contracted so that it was all he could do not to bury himself inside her, just to ease the pressure throbbing in his manhood. Every quiver, every tightening of her sheathe created a fire inside him that blazed for release.

  “Do you tease me, Wylan?”

His eyes opened to find her staring at him as if she would tear him apart. “Never, Melane.”

“Then fill me Wylan and show me the power I desire to feel!”

His hesitation earned her growl, “Now my dear Selam, now!”

Without further delay Wylan drove into her. Their relief turned into a fire that ignited them both. She rose to meet his thrust and the music of their loving increased to a frenzy of erotic pleasure that encircle them. They clung to each other, he buried himself to the hilt inside her tight sheathe of pleasure. Each thrust brought them closer and when he felt the first shiver of her climax, he allowed himself to join her as they both exploded in the throes of love’s passion!

  Chapter 15

  Cibrac

“I should ride in before the army shows, so I can alert the Lamars and Cibrac.” Melane was anxious to leave and prepare Cibrac for their arrival.

“I will go with you, Melane.” Wylan took her hand, kissing the back of it in front of the Council. “She is right, we need to warn them of our coming arrival.”

He hadn’t left her side since their return. His side still smarted from Boller’s attack. The man practically walked over the mounts to get at him. Their gazes once again clashed over Melane’s head. Wylan knew it was just a matter of time before they had it out, once and for all, but he refused to upset Melane any more than the march to Cibrac caused. The rough terrain and her nervous state were taking their toll on her.

Now that he knew of her condition, she no longer wore the cloak to conceal her pregnancy. Gallen seemed to understand tha
t Wylan and Melane needed to settle their differences and were now together as they always should have been. Thankfully, his men returned and Majok did return to his home.

Gallen stepped forward, after conversing with the council, “we agree that you both should go to warn the citizens.”

The man she looked upon as her father turned to Melane, “Do you need to take troops with you?”

She looked at Wylan before answering, “I think my husband can handle that decision.” With her announcement she stepped back and let Wylan take over the planning with the other commanders. She caught the angry concern on Boller’s face and moved over to stand by him.

“He is my lifemate Boller, you have always known this.”

“Are you sure Melane, that you are alright with him?”

She looked at the Selam that still put her before anyone. “Yes my friend, we have settled our differences. Wylan and I…”

Wylan’s hands came to hold her shoulders, “We love each other Boller. I understand how you have protected my wife and I will be forever grateful to you for keeping her safe, when I should have.”

The two Selams studied each for sometime before Melane’s friend relaxed.

“Then, if with your blessings King Wylan, I will continue to help protect your wife through this siege at Cibrac.”

Wylan’s curt nod gave his agreement to the Selam that stepped away from them. He looked at Melane as they left the council tent. “Is he always so serious?”

“Hmm, always.” Her arm came around his back as he pulled her against him. “He is also a dear friend.”

“Good, then I can trust him.”

  “Always, Wylan.”

“Do you think we can find him a lifemate in Cibrac?”

Her laughter filled his heart as he bent to kiss the top of her head. “I’m serious.”

“I know… and I’ll do my best to see it happens.”

“Good… because he really needs to refocus on someone else.”

His hug ended the conversation and she was relieved that the two of them finally spoke without the threat of a battle. She thought on Wylan’s words and she really wondered if Shemon might be the right elamie for Boller. She would have to watch and see how the two of them did together.

Boller was rare for a Selam since he was not threatened by an elamie with power and talents, and Shemon came with a whole community of it.

It would be a perfect match.

  What would?

Boller and Shemon…I’m trying to figure out who he would like.

Good, just so long as she doesn’t come with dark long hair and has moves that will melt his…

Melane jabbed him in the ribs over the thoughts he sent her. His laughter joined hers and she thought it was a marvelous sound.

“I’d best get the mounts ready, we should leave now to get to Cibrac in the morning, before the army appears. I’ll bring a small cache of warriors with us and of course your two.” He chucked her under her chin and smiled. “Keep looking for your replacement Melane, I only have so much patience for that man!”

With that, he left her laughing as he went to take care of their leave.

Before she could turn to leave one of the babies gave her a forcible kick, making her grab her stomach.

“I see my nephew is letting you know he is around.” Gallen’s arm came about her to help her walk to her tent.

  “Or your niece.”

“I could tell you told Wylan about them as well.”

She stopped and looked at the man that any girl would want as a father. “Shouldn’t I have?”

“Of course you should Melane, I am just relieved that the two of you are back together.”

  They continued walking.

“My dear Edwina made me promise to keep an eye on you.”

“I am sorry if we worried you when we took off.”

“You didn’t, I figured if you didn’t want to go, Wylan would have ended up on his butt in the dirt.”

She couldn’t smother her laughter over the picture he painted.

“It is good to see you laugh again.”

“I am happy Gallen. Wylan and I will be fine.”

“That bit of news warms my heart.”

She waited for him to continue, knowing he wanted to say more.

“Do you think your elamies will accept us, Melane?”

They both stopped and he helped her sit before her tent.

“I know that many will rebel, mostly from the Lamar and the Begoné sects.”

“Ah your warriors and your trades sect, both very independent groups.”

“Yes, and they are used to fending for themselves. The thought of being second to anyone will not set very well with them.”

“And you, my dear niece, is being second so difficult for you?”

She smiled and patted his hand, “I am not second, I am now at his side.”

“Are we so prideful that we can’t understand how it feels?”

“I think that it takes a special Selam to feel the other side.”

Wylan had a way of coming into the midst of her conversations. She held her hand out to him for him to come and sit with her and Gallen.

“Maybe Gallen, we…” She looked at Wylan and smiled. “…we need to show both sides how it can work.”

He didn’t say anything just kissed her fingers in his hold.

“I will pray to the Gods that both sides work it out.” The older man rose, “now I’m going to go and let you two get moving. We should arrive around noon.”

Wylan rose, “I’ll be waiting for you and then we will scout out these Kibras.”

“I am looking forward to ridding the place of those beasts.”

Gallen left after hugging Melane. She would have rose, but Wylan told her to stay put until they brought the mounts over. He told her he would ride with her on Rolley so that she could lean back and rest a bit before they arrived. She agreed and leaned back against the tree truck almost wishing she could take the time to lie down. Her back ached and she could swear the twins grew over night.

He watched her massaging her stomach as he worked with Boller and Ponter.

“She is showing more since we started, Wylan.”

He looked at Ponter, “I wish I had not missed so much.”

“You are here now, she said you would be all along.”

Wylan’s brow rose over Ponter’s announcement, he couldn’t help but look at Boller to see how he took his friend’s words.

“Yes, she told us from the start that you would be with her for the birthing and that you and she were lifemates. She never once doubted that Wylan.” Boller thought he owed the man that much for his recent display of temper. It was hard to see her with him even knowing it would happen. “She is like a sister to me and Ponter, and we will always care what happens to her.”

Wylan stood there speechless for a moment, letting the words sink in to his heart. “Thank you both.”

Nothing more needed said as they gathered their supplies and strapped them on the mounts. This attitude from the Sylvans from Windland took some getting used to for Wylan. His mother always tried to tell him how it could be when there was a family unit. It seemed that Melane created her own family, and he was thankful to be included.

They rode out before the army. Without them to slow them down, they could make good time through the forest. Wylan had twelve warriors with him, including Boller and Ponter who rode on each side of Rolley. He told them they would ride through the night to make Cibrac by dawn, just hours before the army arrived. Wylan knew it would be hard on Melane, but he would hold her and he hoped she could get some rest. She needed a real bed and decent sleep, but even after arriving in Cibrac that might not come for sometime.

She shifted again in his arms, he looked to see that she still slept, not liking her pallor. She told him as they rode of her fears for the birth, how she prayed that she would not loose her powers so she could protect the children. It seemed Melane be
lieved that she gained strength from the babies and that they would get her powers. The memory of her mother’s death made her believe that Sabrina lost her powers at birth and that was the reason Narmar was able to kill her brother and Sabrina.

He couldn’t say if it would happen to Melane. Neither could she, but he intended to make certain that no demon-wizard or witch came near her or the children. Boller and Ponter couldn’t help but hear what Melane described, but Wylan knew that they would guard her and the children.

Wylan pushed the thoughts away to concentrate on the battles ahead of them. One thing he knew he would find for his men were Kaymogs like Rolley. He spoke to her about them and she said there was a herd of wild Kaymogs that he could try to catch that might take to Selams as long as the elamies didn’t tame them. He could tell she wasn’t too sure the beast would let Selams be their masters, but then she felt that Rolley accepted him, so the others should do the same.

As the horizon began to lighten, they topped a rise and below them syood the pristine walls of Cibrac.

Wylan helped her sit up, knowing she would want to see her home. “It is beautiful, Melane.”

She smiled, “Do you see the guards?”

“I think so, to the right of the main entrance and there is another sentry in the tower.”

“Once they see us the alarms will go out. Please tell your men not to raise their weapons.”

Wylan gave the order as she asked. Certain she was awake, he dismounted Rolley and went to his own mount, letting her lead the way.

It didn’t take long for the horns to blast their warnings and before they approached the city they were surrounded by the Lamar guards. Melane moved ahead on Rolley to speak to the captain. No one moved until the order was given to shoulder their arms and let them pass.

Wylan and his warriors followed Melane into the city. He had a feeling he just found out how she must have felt when coming to Moondock. On every side of them stood elamies and even the small children were all elamies, not a Selam or boy in sight. The beauty of the place also caught his attention, within the whole he could see the various sects that she spoke of within the Nemows. Weavers, Begonés, Syrons and Lamars, each a world unto their own. Wylan never felt more a stranger than he did at moment. So many things that happened with Melane made perfect sense to him now.
