Alex: A Chicago Bad Boy Romance

“We can’t do it, baby. I can’t take you away from your world. I need to put you back in your world.”
She hugs me tight. “But that’s all changed, Alex. My world is with you now. I love you!”
She said it. She said what she wouldn’t say last night. “And I love you, and that’s why I have to do right by you.”
Heather sits up. The sheets fall from her perky breasts. “I can think for myself, you know? I don’t want to lose you!” Heather lies back down. “Anyway, won’t they be waiting for us there, your Kocan people?”
“Yeah, so we’ll have to get to the cops before they get to us. And I’ve decided you’ve been right about something, Heather. They will find us here if we stay. We have to leave this place, and we have to leave it today.”
“I don’t want to be without you,” Heather says before she digs her head into my shoulder, crying once again.
I hug her tightly, stroking her long, soft hair. I know what’s best for us, and it’s not going to Germany. The only way for me to keep her safe is for me to turn myself in. I’ve messed up my life, but I’m not going to mess hers up too. It’s the least I can do for her.

This morning, we’re in the car, and we’re going back to Chicago. You would think I would be happy about this. This is what I’ve wanted, but not anymore. Alex says he’s turning himself into the police, but he wants to make sure I’m okay before he gives them any information. I don’t want him to turn himself in. I want us to run away, away from all of this. My life changed the moment I saw Alex; I know that now.
Our stuff is packed in the trunk, and Alex is driving. I’m in the passenger seat, sick to my stomach. I’m not talking. I haven’t said anything since we left the house.
He looks at me. “Are you okay?”
“No, I’m not okay, Alex. What are we doing?”
“You know what we’re doing. We’re going to the cops, babe.”
“I don’t want to go to the police. I don’t want to lose you! Why can’t you understand that?”
He shakes his head. “Heather, you’re killing me.”
“You don’t want to lose me either. You know it’s true.”
Alex doesn’t say anything. I’ve hit on something he can’t deny. We have strong feelings for each other, and you can’t just take those feelings away. But now Alex has a strange look on his face.
“What?” I say. “What is it?”
“Heather, duck down! We need to get off this road.”
“What? Did you see someone?”
“Heather, just do it, and don’t get up until I tell you to.”
I’m scrunched down in my seat, making sure my head is well below the window. What the fuck is happening?

In my rearview mirror, I see a blue Mustang. I know that car well. It belongs to Oskar, and there’s another guy in there with him who I don’t recognize but who is probably a Kocan too.
Oskar’s been with the Kocans for about five years. J had texted me to tell me he sent 50 Kocans out to look for me. In fact, he told me I better get out of the fucking country if I didn’t want to die. Germany is looking pretty good now.
I’m flooring it, frantically looking for a side road. I’m swerving through cars, trying not to hit anyone.
“Alex! What’s going on?” screams Heather, bent over with her face on her lap.
“Just stay down!” I know she’s scared, but I can’t talk to her right now. Oskar is driving the Mustang, and it’s almost at my side. The other guy leans out and points a rifle at me.
“Shit!” With a loud pop the glass on the driver’s side window cracks.
Heather screams even more. I look her way, but thankfully she hasn’t been hit. But in my adrenaline haze, I notice the bullet has ripped my shirt and grazed my shoulder, but it didn’t go in. The blood flows down my arm.
“Stay down!” I speed up even more, trying to get away from the Mustang while avoiding hitting the cars in front of me. Another bullet goes through the back left passenger window, cracking it, as well.
There’s a side road. I swerve, hitting two construction barrels as I do it. Oskar has no choice but to drive his car the way it was going. He would have run into other cars had he tried to follow me.
I speed down the side road, turn off another road and then another road, frantically looking behind me as I go. Heather is still scrunched down, her face buried in her lap with her arms hugging her knees. Blood continues to flow down my arm, staining the seat.
We’re in another town, and there’s no sign of Oskar or the other thug. My shoulder is weak, but the blood seems to have stopped. I have fake IDs with fake names, and I have my wigs and shit. It’s time for me to use them as I search for a motel.

I’m doubled over in my seat. My back hurts and my overly frazzled stomach is in knots, but I don’t dare lift my head.
The car has felt like it has moved one hundred miles an hour and Alex hasn’t said a word. Two gunshots were fired, and they both hit the car, but I’m alive, and so is Alex.
Now the car has stopped, and I don’t know where it has stopped, but Alex has left the car, and now he’s messing with something in the trunk. I can hear him. They’ve found us, and now, they want to kill us. Is this how my life will end?
I hear the driver side door open, and Alex’s hand is on my back. “Heather, baby, you can get up now. We’re safe now, and we’re gonna stay at this hotel tonight.”
I don’t move. I’m too afraid to move.
“Baby, it’s all right. I got us away from them, and we’re okay now.”
I rise. Alex is wearing a short brown wig over his blond hair. This is what criminals do? Suddenly, I’m scared of him and by the look he now has on his face he knows it.
“It’s okay. I’m sorry you had to go through this, but I’m just glad you weren’t hurt.”
It’s then I notice Alex’s left arm. He has a huge bandage on it. “Oh my God. Are you hurt?”
“No. The bullet just grazed me. I’m good. I’ll look at it again later.”
“What are we doing? Why are you wearing a wig?”
“I need to check us into this motel, and I don’t want anyone to find out we’re here. I’ve got a fake ID, too.”
I look at the two windows shattered from the bullets. “That doesn’t matter. They’re gonna find us here. They’re gonna find the car.”
“No, they won’t. They’re nowhere to be found, and anyway, I’m ditching this car and buying another one after I get us checked in.”
I sit up tall now. “How in the fuck are you going to manage that?” I scream. “Where the fuck is a car dealership?”
“You let me worry about that.” Despite my frantic voice, he doesn’t scream back. “Now, I’m going to get us checked in, and I’ll be right back, okay?”
“I’m not staying here by myself!”
“Baby, the motel doesn’t need to see you. Okay? Just let me take care of it. It will only take a few minutes.” Alex has that look on his face again he gets with me. I’ve gotten myself involved with someone tangled up with criminal activity. There’s nothing I can do about it but trust that he will protect me.
“Okay.” I sigh. “I’ll stay in the car. What else can I do?”
“You’re alive, and I’m alive, and we’re gonna get out of this. Okay?”
Alex is right. I am alive. He said he would protect me and he has. He’s kept me from getting killed, at least so far.
“Okay.” I look at him and manage a smile. “I’ll wait here in the car. Don’t worry.”
I’m alone in a motel room in some small town, on the run from some gang members. There’s a TV in here, but I don’t want to turn it on. All I can do is sit on this bed and stare in space. Alex is off trying to get rid of the fucked up car. He says he’ll find a car dealership. How’s he gonna find a car dealership in this little town?

I’m back in the motel room with Heather. It took me two hours to ditch the car. I found a hole in the wall used car dealership run by some guy who looked like he was gonna drop dead any minute from cigarette smoking. I paid in cash, no need for much paperwork. The dealer didn’t ask me a lot of questions, either.
Now we have a different car, and I’ll make sure I disguise myself when we go back out there. Heather didn’t want to go to the police, but now, maybe she won’t give me a hassle about it anymore. I want to be with her, but this is what we need to do.
“We’re really in trouble aren’t we?” says Heather.
“Yeah.” I sit next to Heather and stroke her long hair. “I feel guilty about this shit, but the sooner I can get you safe, the better it will be.”
Heather lays her head on my chest and lets me hold her. There’s no resistance. She looks over at my shoulder. “How does that feel?”
“It hurts, but it’ll be okay.”
“Can I look at it?”
“Yeah, go ahead.”
Heather moves to my left shoulder and kneeling on the bed, peels the bandage off my wound. My face grimaces a little.
“Are you okay?” she says.
“Yeah, I’m good.” The wound is a pretty deep cut that could probably use some stitches, but I can’t worry about that right now.
“Alex, it looks horrible.”
“I know, but it’s not infected or anything.”
“I’m gonna get some stuff out of your first aid kit.” Heather walks over to my things and pulls out the kit. “Thank God you’ve got everything you need for a life of crime, huh?” She smiles a little. “Disguises, a first aid kit, and your gun over there.”
I always have my gun with me. I didn’t pull it out during the chase, but I knew where it was. “My piece is the last resort, but if I have to use it, I’ll use it.
“I didn’t know you had a gun.”
“I know. I didn’t tell you I had one.”
Heather looks at me, but she doesn’t say anything.
“What?” I say.
“Have you ever killed anyone?”
“No, baby, I haven’t.”
Heather smiles and goes back to searching through the first aid kit. “I’m sorry for asking, but I had to.”
“No worries.”
“I’m just glad we got away from them.” Heather removes some medicine. “This would be good for your cut. Let me go wash my hands first.”
“All right, babe.” I’m tired, but it feels good that she wants to take care of me. After she comes back from the bathroom, she puts some of the stuff on my cut. It stings a little, but I know it’s good for it.
“The best thing for me to do is get you to the police,” I say. “ You don’t want to get caught up with this anymore than you are.”
Heather bandages my wound and doesn’t say anything.
“Am I right?” I continue.
“Yeah.” She says it softly.
“Are you hungry?” I ask.
She sits next to me. “Yeah, I’m starving.”
“Me too. I’ll go get us some food.”
Her eyes get big. “You’re gonna leave me in here alone, again?”
“It’ll be fine. There’s a take out up the street. We’re fine.”
Heather takes a deep breath and lies on the bed. “God, how did we get here?”
I stand on the side of the bed, looking at the beautiful woman who I will sacrifice my life for. I don’t know how I’ll do without her, but I have no choice. “You saw me in a garage, and the rest is history.

It’s night, and Heather and I are mad kissing on this motel bed. She’s holding me tighter than she ever has before. We both know this may be the last night we spend together.
“I’m so wet,” Heather whispers to me between kisses. “Let’s get in bed.” There’s no coaxing, no hesitation. Heather is ready for me as I am for her.
We rip off our clothes and toss them to the floor. Then I pull back the comforter and the covers and lie her face up on the motel bed with her head on the pillow.
I plunge my fingers into her wet pussy, but I also know when her nipples are as hard as they are now, the only place they should be is in my mouth.
Hovering over her, I suck and lick one of her hard nubs, as my fingers move in and out of her pussy, covered with her juices. She’s not just reacting to my touch, grinding her pussy hard against my hand; she’s thrashing in pleasure, her naked body squirming beneath mine.
“You like it, babe?”
“Fuck me, Alex!”
She grabs one of her breasts and pushes it deeper into my mouth. As tight as this girl is and the way she’s flooding my fingers, I think she’s gonna come right now.
I’m right. Her cry is so high-pitched, I don’t recognize it, and her body is shaking like she’s having a seizure. But it’s no seizure. The sexy look she’s got on her face tells me that. I lie next to her and let her relax before I jump her again. My cock couldn’t get any harder, and Heather is not a girl who comes only once.
Exhausted for only a few minutes, she comes out of it, grabbing my cock and moving her hand up and down the shaft. Her eyes meet mine, and there’s nothing but pure lust there.
“Fuck me...baby!”
I grab a condom packet out of the box I had put on the dresser, rip open the package and slide the rubber over my stiff dick.
“Pleaaasssee!” She screams, spreading her legs.
I waste no time shoving it in. She’s so hot and wet; she’s left a huge spot on the sheet below.
Her legs close behind me. I push into her harder and harder, her little tits bouncing with every thrust. She’s so fucking hot and wet; I don’t know how long I can hold it.
“Just a little more baby, don’t stop, right there . . . almost there!”
Her walls grip my shaft as her pussy once again gushes. I don’t just come into the rubber; I explode into it.

After Heather and I had spent that night in the motel room, we had returned to Chicago, as planned, and I had turned myself into the police without the Kocans ever finding us again.
I got what I wanted. They agreed to protect Heather if I gave them all the information I know about the Kocans. I may never see her again, but at least she’s safe.
Now, they’re holding me in a unit separate from the general population. I’m as good as dead otherwise. But after they’re done with me, after they get all they want from me and the Kocans are all in custody, who knows what will happen.
I’m sharing the cell with a black guy name Kendrick Johnson. This place is so crowded I don’t get my own. Luckily, for me, Kendrick is cool, even though, years ago I guess he had some sort of mental breakdown and they had to take him out of general. They never put him back. He seems fine now.
When they locked me in here, the first thing I noticed is that the guy had everything in order on his shelf, almost as if he had been in the military. But he’s never been in the military. He’s in here for burglary. He was a thief like I used to be.
There are bunk beds in here. Kendrick is lying on the bottom bunk, and I’m lying on the top bunk.
“You’re getting out soon, right?” I say to Kendrick.
“Damn straight. I’m outta here in a month, and I’m not comin’ back.”
“I’m happy for you. Things aren’t looking too good for me, though.”
“You gotta think positive, man. I learned that in here. Get your shit together and move forward.”
“But how do I get my thoughts off my girl?”
“You can’t. But you gotta remember if it’s meant to be it’s meant to be.”
“I may never see her again. I gotta just drop it.”
“My old lady left me right after they locked me up. She made that clear. But that’s not your deal, man. You still got hope. Don’t lose it.”
I sigh. “I’m tryin’, buddy.”
>
“If she’s thinking about you as much as you’re thinking about her, you’ll be together again someday.”

I don’t know all that went down with Alex, but from what I can tell, the police agreed to protect his lady as long as he ratted out his gang.
I’ve had a few run-ins with those Kocan motherfuckers when they had me in general. Maybe the guy can stay in PC and keep himself from getting whacked. I would hate for anything to happen to the guy, and I’ve been praying about it. This place gets you back in touch with the Lord, and that’s a good thing.
In a month, I’m out of here. I don’t know where my life will take me, but I’m looking forward to it. Stealin’ is in my past, and that’s where it’s going to stay.

It’s been a year since Alex and I made the deal and Alex was carted off to jail. He’s been waiting to testify against the Kocans and that will start in a week. The lawyers and the detectives and everyone involved are close to closing everything and Alex has given them a lot of information. The Kocan organization is not extensive. They know how many there are and their goal is to lock them all up.
I’ve been placed in witness protection while this is going on, and I no longer live in the apartment I used to live in with Amber and Melanie. I miss my old life, but at least my family and my friends know I’m safe.
I also no longer work for the hotel, obviously. Today, I do paperwork for an attorney, and it’s a boring job.
