"They captured him," she asked in surprise. Then her face lit up. "Is it so that Diamond can take revenge on the bastard?"
I had to laugh.
"My bloodthirsty mate," I said lovingly. Then I shook my head as an answer to her question. "I don't think Diamond intends to torture him. She's pretty upset right now. It seems that something has happened between her and the blue devil."
"What do you mean by that? Did he ... force himself on ... Diamond?"
"At the moment we are trying to understand the whole story. But obviously he hasn’t done any violence to her. We'll get the truth out of the guy. Come on, get dressed!"
Julia jumped out of bed and dressed hastily. I peered at her.
"Are you sure you want to face the guy? I didn't really think about what that must mean for you. If you want, I'll go alone."
Julia shook her head.
"I'm fine, Pain. I am a big girl. And I have you with me."
"Don't worry, the guy is behind bars. I won't let anything ever happen to you again."
"I know," Julia replied and snuggled into my arms. "I love you, Pain. You have no idea how much!"
"I love you too," I said tenderly and kissed her.
Before the kiss could become too passionate, I gently pushed her away and looked at her.
"We should go, otherwise the fun will start without us," I said.
"Yes. Let's go. And when we come back, show me again how much you really love me."
"With the greatest pleasure," I whispered. "My mate."
