Andrew held her hand until she was sleeping peacefully once again, her remaining tears were welled in her eyelashes.
“Come.” Christik addressed us all, “we will go to the birthing room now.”
Christik moved away from Mimi’s bed, so we all followed suit apart from Zanika and Harrik. They both moved towards the bed. Zanika was at the top end of the bed, and Harrik was at the bottom end.
Using their power, they elevated the bed, and Harrik began to glide in front leading the way. When they had a lead in front of us, we all followed suit.
We walked the long corridor slowly as the other women were still quite wobbly on their legs, but still insistent on making their own way. None of us were in a rush and to be honest; it was lovely hearing the chatter between the men and their women.
“It’s heartwarming isn’t it, seeing them back together and the happiness between them,” I said to James, as we walked hand in hand.
He smiled at me so lovingly.
“Yes, they have a lot of catching up to do and so do we,” he replied, and then he winked at me.
I couldn’t help the giggle that escaped. I think I knew exactly the kind of catching up he wanted to do, and it wasn’t all talking!
While we walked, the men pointed rooms out to the women, telling them what they were for and explaining what the angels were doing to help us and our planet.
It was awesome hearing the women’s interest and their questions. It was just a shame that Barrie, Julia, Michelle and Jessie weren’t with us to enjoy the conversations. Sometimes, one of the angels would answer, if the men weren’t sure or didn’t know. I seemed to be learning more as I listened too.
Soon, we arrived at the birthing room. Harrik led the bed in with Zanika taking the rear. They glided the bed to the nearest veiled cubicle, placing the machines to the side and then moved away to get what they needed. The men, women and James all walked straight over to the massive wall where all the baby animals were being stored.
I followed them over, and I was just as fascinated as the first time I’d seen it. The only difference being was that I could actually go right up to it this time and have a really good look.
Chapter 8
Iwas enthralled as I stood at the glistening glass wall. The animals looked so small and peaceful inside their shimmering capsules. They all had their eyes closed and were literally curled up into fetal positions.
I hadn’t really grasped before how many were inside the wall, but now I was up close, I could see through the capsules, and there were thousands upon thousands of them all behind each other.
There were so many different creatures in there such as rabbits, deer, hippos, snakes and so many more. It was truly astonishing how much had been accomplished so far.
The others looked inside the wall in absolute amazement, pointing out to each other what they could see.
“Look, there’s a leopard.” “See there; it’s a baby giraffe.”
And comments such as.
“I didn’t know elephants looked so strange so young!”
And “This bird doesn’t have feathers yet, come and see; it looks so weird!”
I was relieved that none of them were freaked out by what they saw and then I remembered, ‘They’d seen a lot worse as our planet was coming to an end.’
Zanika and Harrik re-entered the room; both dressed in their sheer, silvery white veils and gloves. We all gave them a wide berth, so they could do their thing.
Zanika went to the machines next to Mimi’s bed and adjusted some buttons. I assumed it was to stimulate labor and to make sure that Mimi was pain-free like she did for me.
Poor Mimi, it still made me feel so sad at how upset she was. I dreaded to think how her husband must have felt seeing her so distraught. Andrew seemed to have calmed down now and was equally as fascinated with the baby animals as we all were.
Harrik had entered with a capsule hovering between his hands, and as Zanika adjusted the machines, he left it hovering at the end of the bed. We watched as his hand hovered over the capsule, making it temporarily glow white, and as the glow softened, the fluid inside started to give off a shimmer.
My gaze turned to Mimi’s left hand, and I saw the marking of the goat glow. I wondered if any of the others had taken note of the marking. I also wondered if the other angels in the room watching had seen any of the births before, considering this wasn’t part of their normal roles.
Christik, Livik, Jakiz and Hulaz all seemed just as fascinated as the rest of us, and it was so quiet in the room with everyone completely entranced; you could have heard a pin drop.
Harrik and Zanika moved positions to either side of the sleeping Mimi. They moved their now glowing hands over her body slowly. Then we watched in awe as they slid the silvery sheet down to her bikini line and rolled her gown to the top of her abdomen. It was always amazing to watch them using their power.
Once her small baby bump was exposed, they raised their hands and moved them into position just above her pregnant stomach.
“I’m not sure I can watch this,” Andrew said suddenly, with a shaky voice.
When I turned to face him, I could see that his whole body was shaking like a nervous wreck. It was Hulaz who stepped towards him. Smiling kindly at him, she placed her hand on his forearm and instantly she began to calm his shaking body. He was visibly relaxing before our eyes.
“Do not worry Andrew,” she said softly, “Your Mimi will not feel anything. We do not harm your females in any way; please trust us,” she added.
He looked into her beautiful, blue sapphire eyes and obviously feeling reassured, he nodded his head in agreement.
We all turned our attention back to Mimi and watched avidly. Zanika and Harrik’s hands began to glow silvery white again, as did Mimi’s bare pregnant stomach and the goat mark on her left hand.
As the white glow brightened, they both started to raise their hands, and suddenly, we could all see something beginning to appear on top of her smooth, bare skin.
At first, I couldn’t make out the baby goat, but as it passed through her unmarked skin, I started to see the top of its head and back through the amniotic sac. As Harrik and Zanika’s hands raised higher, more of the baby goat inside its amniotic sack appeared.
There were gasps and sounds of amazement from the women and men around the room when the full form of the baby goat finally rose completely from Mimi’s abdomen.
The tiny goat looked so small and vulnerable sleeping in its amniotic fluid. It had sparse pale, sandy colored fur and tiny little ears and hooves. Its umbilical cord was floating next to its tiny body. Zanika and Harrik moved with ease, the baby goat hovering in its sack between their hands. They moved towards the waiting capsule and just as easily used their power to pass it through the capsule wall until it was safely inside.
We all watched still in awe as the capsule pulsed with light. The baby goat’s placenta and umbilical cord started to move towards the side until the placenta made contact with the organic device on the inside wall of the capsule.
We were mesmerized as the capsule pulsed with the bright white light again, and then there was just the rhythmic pulse of the baby goat’s heartbeat.
“That was bloody amazing!” Derek said, in total wonderment.
Harrik started to make his way out of the room with the capsule hovering between his hands, and Zanika started covering up Mimi’s bare stomach.
“Yeah, I agree that was amazing!” said James, as he turned to look at me. “I’m so glad I got to see for myself how magical that was, and I’m pleased to witness for myself that you didn’t suffer baby,” he told me softly.
“I want to be awake when I have mine!” Trudy stated as she looked down at her left hand. “Sloth,” she added, smiling from ear to ear.
“Me too!” Beccy chipped in, “I think it’s totally awesome that we’re getting to be a part of this,” she declared.
Derek was smiling too as he wrapped an arm around her.
“
I think you are awesome!” he told her lovingly.
Andrew turned to Christik with tearful eyes,
“That really was a beautiful thing to see,” he told her, “I’m sorry my wife won’t be able to help again.”
Christik looked at him with heartfelt compassion.
“Your wife has helped us a great deal already Andrew; we are very grateful to her,” she told him.
Andrew appeared to be happy with Christik’s answer and seemed relieved that his wife’s ordeal was now over.
“Can you wake her up now please?” he asked Zanika.
“Yes of course,” she said.
She made her way back to the machines next to Mimi’s bed. Zanika adjusted the buttons again on the machines next to the bed, and the buttons changed from white to silver.
We all stood in anticipation waiting for her wake up again now that the birth was over. Personally, I was hoping that she would be back to her normal self and not the poor panic-stricken lady she was. We all hated seeing her so distraught.
Andrew’s body was tense as he stroked her hand, waiting for her to open her eyes. The others began to talk quietly between themselves while they waited. I could hear Trudy excitedly saying to the others how she couldn’t wait to see her baby sloth being born, and that she wondered what the next baby animal would be. If the angels let her do it again.
At that point, Christik spoke to the group.
“We would like you women to help us continue our goal of repopulating the animals of your planet if are willing,” she stated. “From now on, you will be able to go with your men and be with the new communities while you are pregnant,” she added. “You would only be required to come here to our medical unit for implantation and the birth if you are prepared to do so.”
Trudy was softly clapping her hands in glee, her face full of excitement.
“That sounds like the perfect plan to me,” she beamed.
“I agree completely,” Beccy said, adding to the conversation. “Now I’ve seen a birth, which was quite magical and amazing in my opinion, I’d like to do it again after this one,” she said, stroking her pregnant stomach affectionately. “As long as I can be active during the pregnancy.”
I watched the talking women and noticed that both of them had actually started to gently stroke their animal baby bumps with affection. It was truly amazing to see the connections forming between us humans and the animals in this way. I wished to myself that we’d all been a lot more respectful and appreciative of the animals before our planet had started to die.
As these thoughts were running through my mind, I heard soft words spoken.
“Is it over?” Mimi asked, still sleepy and calm.
Instantly, everyone stopped talking, with all eyes watching the previously distraught woman.
“Yes darling, it’s over,” he assured her. “It’s gone, and you are a hundred percent back to normal.”
She seemed to believe every word I think, but she still clearly wanted to see for herself, or perhaps wanted to check what her stomach looked like. I wasn’t sure which. She let go of Andrew’s hand and ignoring the rest of us in the room, she quickly slid the silvery sheet down and lifted up the white gown she was wearing.
Looking down she stared at her now empty and flatter stomach. She lifted her left hand and smoothed her small hand over her skin. When she looked back up at us all, there was a smile of pure relief on her beautiful face. Her eyes connected with Christik’s.
“Thank you,” she whispered.
Christik smiled warmly at her and dipped her head in respect.
“You are welcome young one; we want you to be happy and whole,” she replied.
As Mimi began to lower her gown and pull the sheet back up, she stopped with the sheet still clutched in her hand.
“The mark, it’s now gone,” she said, as she looked at Andrew,
“Was it okay, the baby goat?” she asked.
I think her curiosity surprised us all. We all seemed to look at each other as if to say, “What the heck?” Andrew took her left hand in his, stroking the top of her hand with his thumb.
“It was fine darlin, it was perfect,” he told her. “It was actually really quite magical seeing it being born. It wasn’t anything like I thought it was going to be,” he said to her gently.
Mimi suddenly looked very embarrassed. She lowered her head and looking up through her long eye lashes, she said softly.
“I’m really sorry I freaked out everyone; I panicked.”
I felt so bad for her, especially when any one of us could have panicked the same way. Stepping forward, I smiled at her, hoping it would show the warmth and compassion I felt towards her.
“You have nothing to apologize for Mimi. We are all out of our depth and dealing with a situation that is completely unreal,” I told her kindly. “You certainly aren’t going to be the last person to panic I’m sure,” I added. “but I hope you can help us with the other women and help them through it like we are helping you.”
“Yes, I’d like that,” she replied a little more confidently. “I think I might like to watch a baby animal being born too,” she said with a small smile.
‘Progress,’ I thought to myself, as I returned her lovely smile.
At that moment, Harrik glided back into the room with a stone tray of food and a couple of drinks hovering between his hands which he passed to Andrew. He used his power to raise the top end of the bed higher for Mimi, and he took the tray back from Andrew, placing it softly on her lap.
“We will let you eat, drink and rest for a while with your husband Mimi,” he told her, as he moved away from the bed to where we were all standing.
Christik stepped forward, drawing all our attention.
“It has been a very long day for you all,” she said warmly. “I know we still have one woman to find; however, you ladies need to eat, drink and rest too,” she continued. “So Livik and Hulaz will see you all to your rooms, and in the morning, we will find your other woman,” she stated.
She looked directly at the man called John, who had disappointment written all over his face. I think we all felt the dismay radiating from him.
“Is that alright with you John?” she asked, obviously noting the sadness in his features.
“Yes, it’s okay,” he replied softly, “My angel, Tracy is still sleeping, so I can wait one more night.”
James, the warm caring man he was, made his way over to John and put his muscular arm around his shoulders.
“Thank you, John,” he told him with such genuine warmth.
John couldn’t help the small smile that crept on his rugged face at James’ friendly gesture.
“If you would like to follow us,” Livik said as she and Hulaz started to glide out of the birthing room.
Zanika and Harrik remained with Mimi and Andrew as they began to eat and quietly talk. When I looked behind me, I could see Christik and Jakiz gliding behind us all.
Everyone was talking about what they’d just experienced in the birthing room. Trudy and Beccy were closest to James and me, with their men Philip and Derek. They were so excited by what they’d just seen. Beccy’s ringlet curls were positively bouncing up and down as she walked.
“I seriously can’t wait to see my baby jaguar being born,” Beccy said,
“I know,” replied Trudy, “And I hope we get to do more; I want to be a real part of what the angels are doing,” she stated with lots of enthusiasm.
As she said the words, I realized that I felt the same way; it felt like an honor helping to heal and replenish our planet.
I turned to James who was still walking beside me.
“I’d like to do it again too. Would it upset you if I did?” I asked.
I knew as soon as he gave me his sexy smile what his answer would be.
“No baby, I wouldn’t be upset. To be honest with you gorgeous lady, I would’ve been surprised if you didn’t want to do it again,” he stated, smiling like an idiot.
I knew th
ere was a reason why I felt such a bond between us, and with his words, he’d just confirmed it for me. I may not have had my memories all back at that point, but I knew in my heart that I loved him.
Because we were walking at a slower pace, I was able to study our surroundings a lot better this time. When we walked close to the side of the corridor, I ran my fingers along the wall, and I was fascinated. It felt cool and smooth like marble to the touch, and there was an energy coming from the wall as if it was a living thing.
The archways were just as amazing, so decorative and elegant. We stopped at the fourth room we came to.
“This is your room Trudy and Phil,” Hulaz said, as she turned to face them.
“I will show you in,” she added, and then she glided through the archway with Trudy and Phil following her.
While we waited in the corridor, I looked up at the archway entrance; the symbols were glowing against the background of the dark archway frame.
“They really do look like Egyptian hieroglyphs,” I said aloud.
Everyone looked up to see what I was talking about, and there were many murmurs of agreement.
“We visited the Early Egyptians many times,” Christik told us. “They were an advanced race for their time, interested in astronomy, medicine and social structures,” she stated. “We wanted to learn more about your race, so we taught them our written language, so we could communicate with them,” she added.
“Well, that makes a lot of sense,” James said to the group.
I was staring at the hieroglyphics, in awe of the beautiful intricate symbols softly glowing.
“I wish I could read them,” I said quietly.
“You will all get the chance to learn our spoken and written language if you desire to,” Christik told us, “We are going to be here a long time. Even when we have finished healing your planet, there will still be a lot for us to do,” she added warmly.
Hulaz came out through the archway entrance smiling shyly and looking very embarrassed.
“I do not think we will see them for some time,” she declared with humor in her voice.
