Micah laughed, bending down to pat our dog before Rick even had the chance to retrieve our rings. After licking Rick’s hands, Snowflake finally allowed him to touch him and take them, then a slightly grimacing Finn tried to lead him away.
I didn’t even comment when Snowflake planted his ass down next to Micah, his tail wagging and his tongue lolling. Greg just stared at the huge dog and shook his head.
“A misbehaving pup should be familiar to you,” I murmured to him, and he chuckled.
With a sigh, Finn looked at Micah, then at Sean. After a nod from Micah, he handed Sean the leash and took his place again.
Well then. The one good thing about Creamsicle’s constant avoidance of me — and everyone else — was that he didn’t get to crash the wedding as well.
Exchanging the rings, once we had them, was simple… as were the simple but profound words naming us “husband and husband.” Then I could finally kiss him as my husband.
I caught his lips with my own, holding him close and showing him all over my love. Mine. My partner, my husband, my baby boy.
He was all of those things and more.
Forever.
