Brian squeaked. Two heads turned in Dylan’s direction.
Shit. That was me.
Christian straightened, patted Brian’s leg and told him, “Don’t move,” but Christian did, slipping off the bed and stalking a stunned Dylan. He squatted in front of Dylan. “Little bird, I thought I told you to get ready for bed.”
“I got my jammies on, Daddy. See?” Dylan knelt upright and pointed to his lounge pants and pink tee with a sparkly rainbow unicorn on it. “I even washed my face and brushed my teeth, but I got bored, and you sounded like you were having fun.” He crossed his arms and stuck out his lower lip. “It’s not fair. I wanna have fun, too.”
Christian smirked. “Brian and I were having fun. Maybe you’d like to join us? This was your idea after all.”
“Really?” Dylan scrambled to his feet. “Oh, yes, Daddy, please, please, please. Can I?” Dylan almost lost his balance bouncing on his tiptoes. He grabbed onto Christian’s shoulder, who then swept him up into his arms and carried him to the bed.
“Slide over Brian. You have company.”
Brian shifted a few feet on the bed before rolling to his side to face Dylan. He caught Dylan’s cheek and kissed him on the mouth. “Thank you,” Brian whispered and kissed Dylan again, this time longer and harder.
Christian stripped Dylan of his sleep clothes, pausing their mouth-mauling momentarily to remove Dylan’s shirt before they went right back to lip-locking. Good thing, too, since Dylan was burning up in all the right ways. He scooched closer, throwing a leg over Brian’s, and their cocks rubbed together. The start of a moan bubbled in Dylan’s throat.
They brushed and stroked, petted and caressed, plucked and pinched. Christian tugged Dylan’s hair, guiding him to lay on his back, while pulling on Brian’s thigh. “Lie next to him, kit.” They lie side by side, fingers laced, shoulders touching. Christian straddled them, one knee between their spread legs.
He took each of them in a warm embrace, jacking their cocks simultaneously, his gaze darting between their groins and faces. Tightening his grip, Christian jerked them faster. Dylan’s knuckles hurt with Brian’s stronger grasp, but he ignored it in favor of focusing on the pleasure wrought by his new Daddy.
“This is not how I expected this day to end, but I’m not disappointed in the least,” Christian said, licking his lips. Dylan wholeheartedly agreed. He’d expected them to sit at home and relax, get to know each other. He figured it would take him a few weeks to find Ryan and reconnect, longer for him to feel comfortable in Christian’s home.
Sweet Mother, he’d been so wrong, and never in his life had he’d been this happy to be wrong. Then Christian did this swirly thing around the top of his cock, and all further thought flew from Dylan’s mind. A chorus of pleading yips from Brian mixed with his vocalization of delighted trills.
“Daddy!” Dylan begged.
“Please, Sir,” Brian implored.
Christian leaned over Brian’s cock and swiped the pre-cum from the tip with his tongue before repeating the gesture on Dylan’s.
Dylan’s youth betrayed him, his orgasm spiraling. “Daddy, Daddy, I’m gonna…” He clenched the comforter beneath him, struggling to hold back.
Christian looked right into his eyes. “You may,” he said, taking Dylan deep into his mouth.
“Fuck!” he shouted, hips pumping, his cock spasming as he jetted into Christian’s mouth. “Yes, yes.” Dylan patted Christian’s hair as he nursed the last few drops. “Thank you, thank you.”
“My turn, Sir, please.” Brian’s strained tone washed over Dylan, who cracked open his eyes to watch Christian shift from him to Brian. Dylan shuddered with aftershocks.
Christian teased Brian by licking up his shaft and circling the head with his tongue.
“Can’t, Sir,” Brian whined, and Christian growled before sucking Brian down. Brian barked and jerked. Christian pushed him flat, cheeks hollowing, head bobbing.
“Give it to Daddy, Bri,” Dylan encouraged him, turning onto his side to better see. “Show us how much you want to please Daddy.”
“I do, I do.” Brian squeezed his eyes shut, rocking into Christian’s grip.
“Now, kit,” Christian ordered, but before he’d finished uttering the demand, Brian came. Strings of white cum spurted from his cock, droplets landing in a splattered array. On Brian, on Christian, on Dylan, who laughed.
Dylan swiped a finger through a puddle on Brian’s chest and raised it to his mouth. Christian, however, caught his wrist before he could have a taste. He guided Dylan’s arm towards himself and stole Dylan’s treat.
“Clean him up with your tongue, little bird, and don’t forget to share.”
“Sweet Mother,” Dylan breathed, his body shivering in delighted joy. He leaned over and lapped at the cum on Brian’s chest. When his mouth was full, he shifted higher to share with Brian in a filthy, tongue-delving kiss. Brian grabbed Dylan’s ears and held on tight, moving Dylan’s head this way and that to deepen and prolong the kiss.
“You boys are delicious to watch,” Christian said, caressing their skin. Tiny shocks danced along Brian’s limbs making for a bumpy ride for Dylan, but he enjoyed it nonetheless.
While Dylan and Brian continued to make out, Christian left the room, returning a moment later with a wet cloth. He wiped down any missed spots before stopping their make out session.
“Your queen-sized bed is nice, kit, but I have a king-sized bed downstairs that will be better suited to the three of us.”
Dylan rolled to his back, throwing his arms wide, and shouting. “I get the middle!”
Christian playfully smacked Dylan’s foot. “You can have the middle. But first we should eat. We missed dinner, and I’m starving.”
Brian leaped from the bed. “I’ll cook.”
“Something quick, kit, we have some talking left to do.”
Dylan’s euphoria plummeted and Brian frowned, but Christian waggled a finger. “None of that. It’s all good, but we should discuss this new dynamic between the three of us.” He arched an eyebrow and gestured to include them all.
Dylan froze. Three of us. The proverbial bucket of ice water drenched him from head to toe. Oh, he had not thought this through. This wasn’t his plan. Not when he left home, not when he moved into Scion House and started training, and certainly not when he signed the contract on the dotted line underneath Christian’s name.
Nope. Nada. Zilch.
But…
Dylan glanced at Brian pulling on his clothes and admired his physique. Brian was gorgeous, muscular and tall, with thick, dirty blond hair, and beautiful green eyes. He cooked and kept house all while hoping for the one he loved to realize he was standing right there in front of him the whole time.
And clueless Christian. Handsome and dominant, yes, but it took Dylan pointing out Brian’s worth for Daddy Christian to pull his head out of his ass and truly see Brian as more than just a kind and caring housemate.
Dylan hid his tiny grin, ducking his head as he pulled on his sleep pants. He mentally gave himself a fist bump for his matchmaking skills. The question remained, however, if they’d keep him, too. Neither man had refuted Dylan’s claim for the middle of the bed. For now he was safe, but for how long?
Chapter 11
Brian
Brian stirred the tomato soup in the pot, simultaneously turning on another burner beneath a griddle pan. Slices of white bread, cheese and butter waited on the counter. Comfort food, he mused. Yet, there was only a small zone of comfort to be had at the moment. Christian’s one-eighty was both exciting and surprising. He’d wanted the alpha fox forever, but the addition of Dylan was unexpected. Once the adrenaline high of sex had worn off, he could think with a clear head, not that it helped. He still wasn’t sure how he felt about it.
Cute didn’t quite describe the crane-shifter, who was long-legged like his animal, with a regal neck and flip of blond hair. The eyeliner he wore made his eyes pop, and the sweep of gloss across his lips made them that much
more kissable. This flash of fiery attraction to Dylan was in complete contrast to the slow yearning he felt for Christian.
Foxes didn’t usually mate in throuples, and he was pretty sure neither did birds. Counterpoint: Ryan, Dylan’s older brother, a hybrid non-shifter of avian nature who was bonded to both a fox and a coyote. If memory served him correctly, there were a couple of species of birds that mated in threes and a few more that had “wingmen.”
Ha ha. Now he got it.
“You doing okay?” Dylan’s quiet question pierced his musings.
“Yeah. At least, I think so.” Brian rested the spoon in its little dish, picked up a knife and buttered the bread. “This isn’t how I saw my first time with Christian.”
Dylan snorted, lips twitching into a wry grin. “No, not mine either.”
Brian glanced at Dylan. He was leaning his ass against the counter, one arm full of a dressed-to-the-nines teddy while he examined the nails of his other hand. “Really? ‘Cause with your brother in a triad, I was starting to assume all you cranes wanted two mates.”
Dylan’s head snapped up, brow furrowed and gaze piercing. “Fuck you, cranes don’t...” His righteous anger in the name of his species faded in light of the lopsided smile Brian gave him. “Jerk,” he mumbled with zero heat. “I haven’t seen or spoken to Ry in five years before tonight. This whole day has been one fucking surprise after another.”
“Good surprises or bad?” They’d been good for him for the most part. Very, very good. “And I suggest you watch the cursing in front of Christian.”
Dylan’s brilliant grin transformed him from cute as a button to breathtaking. “Noted, but, aw man, it’s been the best.” He jumped around the kitchen, bouncing on his toes like a kitten ready to play. If there’d been music playing, Brian was sure Dylan would have been dancing. His tush sure was shakin’. “I can’t believe I’m here, you know? I decided to try and find Ryan a year ago, but really ramped up the planning once I learned where Ry was. Not this…” Dylan rolled his eyes. “But coming here to try to find him. And I did! Whoo-hoo!”
Christian’s laughter preceded his entrance. “Am I invited to this party?”
Dylan raced across the room and leapt into Christian’s arms. Amused, Brian shook his head at Dylan’s antics. He watched them kiss for a moment before turning back to making dinner, a thin trickle of jealousy sneaking into his mood.
Christian clomped closer, Dylan monkey-wrapped to his chest. “Hey.” He bumped Brian’s shoulder with his own, then leaned over, lips pursed. Brian gave him the kiss he asked for without thought.
“My turn,” Dylan chirped, stuffing his head between them and kissing first Brian, then Christian. He almost toppled, but Christian quickly readjusted to handle the shift in weight.
“Little bird, you are not so little to be messing around like that.” Disappointment dripped with each word from Christian’s mouth.
Dylan slumped, laying his head on Christian’s shoulder. “Sorry, Daddy.” His eyelids drooped to half-closed as Brian studied him.
Brian smoothed Dylan’s hair away from his eyes. Affection flooded his heart for this adorable young man. To think he loved his brother so much that he left a safe, caring home to find him. “I think Dyl’s exhausted. Go sit, dinner will be just a few minutes.”
Christian nodded, turning to leave. Dylan gave Brian a timid wave and a saucy wink before they turned the corner and moved out of sight. The wave may have said “See you later,” but the wink unequivocally whispered, “Hurry.”
Brian scooped up bowls of tomato soup and plated the grilled cheese sandwiches with an ease of practice, years in the making. He hadn’t lied when he told Christian how much he missed having meals with him. They’d been daily, then trickled to weekly. Over the last year, those had dwindled to once a month if he was lucky. But each business day, Brian had a healthy, packed lunch ready for Christian when he left for work. Those morning “thank you's” had been what kept him hoping Christian would see him as something other than a boring ol’ housemate. If only Dylan had come into their lives sooner…
Christian returned to the kitchen and, after giving Brian another peck on the lips, helped him bring the food into the dining room. They ate in companionable silence, occasionally dotted with yummy mouth-smacking sounds and grateful thanks for cooking. They carried their own plates back into the kitchen and loaded them into the dishwasher.
“Dylan, Brian, I don’t want to push either of you. If you’d prefer to sleep in your own rooms tonight, I’ll understand, but my preference is to have you both in my bed.
Dylan grabbed Christian’s hand. “Your bed for me, please, Daddy.” He wiggled and jumped, and Christian caught him, then settled Dylan on his hip. “Please, Bri,” he begged, laying his head on Christian’s shoulder.
How could he deny that sweet, angelic face?
Brian nodded. “Should I get some pajamas, Sir?” Nerves flaring, he twisted his fingers.
Christian touched his hand, stilling the erratic movements. The side of his mouth tilted up, his expression teasing with a playful leer. “Considering I’ll be stripping them off you, why bother?”
“Ooo, Daddy. Me, too?” Dylan peeped, squeezing Christian’s shoulders.
“Of course, my darling, beautiful baby bird.” Christian pecked Dylan’s temple.
“Yeah!”
Dylan’s adorableness doubled in Brian’s opinion. The young crane’s smooth pink cheeks, pouty lips, and wide blue eyes coalesced into one enchanting boy.
“If you want me naked, Sir, I’m fine with that.”
“Me, too!” Dylan squeaked, reaching for Brian. Christian passed Dylan off, and the crane-turned-monkey wrapped himself around Brian’s torso. He wiggled in Brian’s arms, forcing him to tighten his grip. “I’m so excited. This has been the best day ever.”
“I agree,” Brian whispered, nuzzling along Dylan’s jaw. Brian still feared Christian would eventually realize he wasn’t right for him, but Brian was determined to show Sir he could be perfect for him. If that included a femme little crane to make them three, he’d adapt.
In the bedroom, Brian tossed Dylan onto the down comforter. He sank into its plush navy depths, arms and legs akimbo, and made swimming motions. Brian couldn’t help but note how the bedding colors matched Dylan’s eyes.
“Daddy, your bed is ah-may-zing.” Dylan flipped onto his stomach and scurried towards the headboard, pert ass in the air while he drew back the covers and rearranged the pillows. He caressed the light blue sheets. “These will feel so good against my skin.”
Brian stared at the sea of blue, at Dylan’s swirls upon their soft, luxurious texture.
He took a step backwards.
The sheets were brand new. Christian had purchased them and asked Brian to run them through the wash before he’d left to visit his family.
Brian retreated another step.
At no time did Christian mention the possibility of bringing home a little. Why didn’t he say anything? Why did he try to hide Dylan by bringing him home when I wasn’t supposed to be there? Brian had planned on being away for another two days, but he’d argued with his father, and instead of dealing with the fallout, had come home. He turned to leave.
“Daddy?”
Dylan’s wretched whine caught Brian off-guard, and he spun back to console him. The lithe crane-shifter crawled down the bed towards him.
“Brian?” Sir, suddenly there next to him, stroked Brian’s arm. “Have you changed your mind?”
“I—” He wanted to run, but his legs failed him.
“Please stay, Bri,” Dylan pleaded, blue eyes beseeching as he sucked in his lower lip.
“I want to.” But I’m scared.
“Then do, kit.” Christian slipped his hand around Brian’s. The simple touch drained the worst of his anxiety away. It centered him. Grounded him. “Stay, sleep. We’ll talk more in the morning, okay?”
“Okay,” he whispered, unable to put more into his voice. He coughed and swallow
ed, clearing the tightness from his throat and chest. “Yes, Sir. That sounds…good.” Brian had questions and worries and his gut didn’t like the anticipation of talking, but Dylan had the right of it.
He knuckled Dylan under the chin. “Best day ever, right?”
Dylan’s blinding grin was his reward. He jumped to his feet, hopped off the bed and dragged Brian towards the bathroom. “The faster we wash our faces and brush our teeth, the faster we get to snuggle in bed.”
Brian let the half-pint crane order him to pee and wash his hands and face. Dylan held up two new toothbrushes still in their paper and plastic wrap.
“Daddy’s is red, so I’m thinking the blue one for you and purple for me. It’s only fair since purple is like my all-time favorite color. If only it had sparkles…” The sadness in Dylan’s tone tugged at Brian’s heart.
“Next time I’m at the market, I’ll try to find you one. Those are free ones from our dentist.”
Dylan stuck out his tongue as he added toothpaste to the unwrapped brushes. “Yuck. I hate going to the dentist.”
Christian leaned in and plopped a tiny hourglass on the counter. “Two minutes, boys.”
“Yes, Sir.”
“Okay, Daddy.”
They made funny faces at each other in the mirror as they brushed, playfully bumping into each other as they went to spit and rinse. Dylan brought a lightness to Brian he had lost years ago. His friendship with Ryan had drawn him from his deep melancholy, but Dylan’s laughter and sheer joy… Brian breathed in Dylan’s delicious scent. It reminded him of fresh-baked sugar cookies, and he just wanted to nibble all of Dylan’s edges, savoring each bite.
Christian’s natural scent of nutmeg and cardamom blended in Brian’s nose as Sir wrapped an arm around him and directed them back into the bedroom. He stood them side by side and slowly divested them of their clothing. Shirts were drawn overhead, collarbones traced, nipples circled and flicked.
Brian glanced at Dylan, cataloging the smooth chest, the flush across his upper body, his cock tenting his lounge pants. The crane's eyes were closed, his mouth parted, breaths ragged. When Sir shifted to focus on Brian, Dylan blinked and stared up at him, eyes glazed, and a soft, endearing smile on his mouth.
