He turned to the techie, “You heard the same orders I did. What are you waiting for? Shut ‘er down. All gates closed, all Passageways locked.” The techie scowled.

Xander barked in his face, “You heard our Commissioner, do it, now!”

The man turned and quickly shut each of the Hub grids down. The Hub came to a complete stop-- all in the matter of a second. Sojourners all over the globe were shocked to find that business as usual had ceased. Their access to enter and leave the Hub was denied.

Anjoleah’s assistant was waiting for her outside her dressing room. He had her gear out and ready. In ten seconds she was ready to go. He locked the door behind her and gave orders for her flying disk to be ready on standby. She made her way to the air station. She climbed on her flying disk and took an educated guess as to where she could find the four escapees. She headed in that direction.

Meanwhile, Anthony’s secretary knocked on his door.

He whispered, “Not now, I’m in a meeting.” She motioned to him that it was urgent. He asked that the meeting continue without him and excused himself.

He turned off his monitor and motioned for her to enter his office. “Please tell me what the urgent news is.”

“The Hub has come to a complete standstill.”

He thought about that statement. “It does from time to time when it gets backed up.”

“No Prime Minister, this is an ordered lockdown.”

He grabbed his technology pad and entered his code to find out what was going on. He covered his face momentarily before he asked her, “Please locate Dimitrios and have him come to my office immediately. It won’t take long until we have a colossal disaster on our hands.”

She closed his door behind her leaving Anthony to sort out the details. She turned and walked to her desk and began trying to locate Dimitrios. Within a matter of seconds Anthony read on his screen that she had made contact with Dimitrios and he was already on his way.

Anthony reached Anjoleah on her headset. “I understand the urgency with the upcoming trial but did we have to shut down the entire Hub?”

Anjoleah’s voice gave away her anxiety. “Sir, I had just discovered an undeniable connection linking those individuals to the Stygian Market right before they escaped. I didn’t have a choice but to act accordingly and shut down the Hub if we want any chance of recapturing them.” That got Anthony’s attention.

She whispered into her headset, “I’m considering the ramifications of the fact that my technology pad has been compromised. When I accessed the mainframe and entered my alert code I noticed the time my last entry was made. Sir, that was impossible. I was reviewing the case with Xander at that moment. I shut down any access to information the hackers may have been in the process of retrieving and immediately secured my files along with all of my communications.”

Anthony put his elbow on his desk and rested his head holding the bridge of his nose with his thumb and pointer finger. He knew this was going to send shockwaves all over the world. Something of this magnitude had to be handled very delicately. His head began to fill with possible scenarios…
