Then they saw where Violets dress was ripped and Sam’s tux now was also ruined. Everyone thought they did it to make Violet feel better. But to Violet and Sam it meant something else.

Everything else went wonderful only a few minor incidences. Violet had done a perfect job planning and getting things done. And she got them done the way she wanted. At midnight Sam wisps her away and they took off on their honey moon.

When they got back Violet was busy for a very long time. Opening gifts sending out thank you notes. She never thought it was going to end. But she ran across this one gift and it took her by surprise. She had to ask Sam about it. She looked at the name and it didn’t sound or look familiar. She asked the maid, but the maid just shook her head and walked away.

When Sam got home Violet saw the maid go up and talk to him. And the look on his face was instant anger. He went right to the study. Violet went and followed

“Sam,” she called his name softly.

Sam turned and looked at her. “Where is that gift you showed the maid?”

“I wanted to ask you about that. Why?”

“Where is it?!” he snapped at Violet.

Violet jumped. “I will go get it.” Violet went and got it with the note. She handed it to Sam. He looked at the gift read the note and called for the maid.

  “Yes sir,” the maid said.

“Get rid of this!” Sam said angrily.

“As you wish sir,” the maid took the note and gift. Violet just stood there she was confused.

  “Sam what?” she started.

Sam looked at Violet. All she saw was hate and anger in his eyes. “Why would she pull something like this?” Sam said looking right at Violet.

“Why who would pull what Sam?” Violet looked puzzled.

“I haven’t heard from that woman since she drained me. I get married and she sends me a gift!” Sam was getting loud.

Violet knew now who it was. She walked up to him. “Maybe she has changed Sam.” Violet put her arms around him

Sam pulled her away from him and grabbed her arms, “I don’t care if she has or hasn’t. She had no right to send me anything!” he shouted.

Sam was so angry he didn’t realize he was squeezing Violets arms so tight. “Sam…” Violet tried to get away.

“Do you know what that woman done to me Violet do you?!” as he shouted he shook Violet.

“Yes Sam. you told me. Sam. you’re hurting me,” Violet started to tear.

  “Sam!” shouted the maid.

Sam realized what he was doing and let Violet go. Violet turned and fled up the steps.

Sam just stood there staring at the maid. “I… I hurt her.”

“Yes Sam, you did.” the maid glared at him.

Sam fell in the chair and put his hands to his face “That woman will always haunt me. She will never let me have happiness!” he took his hand and knocked everything off the desk. He got up and walked out the door.

“Sam, where are you going Sam!” the maid called after him.

Sam grabbed his coat and headed out the front door.

“Sam, don’t leave like this where are you going,” called the maid.

Sam stopped. “Violet will never forgive me.” And he left.

Violet watched out the window as she saw Sam leave. Tears were running down her face she heard the maid come in.

“Where is he going?” Violet asked.

  “I don’t know Violet.”

“He was so angry,” Violet cried.

“Yes, he was he didn’t mean to hurt you Violet.”

“I know she has hurt him so bad.”

“She did dear she did. And now after all this time he is finally happy, in love and married. She pulls this it’s like she is trying to hurt him again a game to her,” the maid softly said.

“I just hope I won’t have to pay for it forever.” Violet tears fell.

The maid didn’t know what to say to Violet when she said that.

Violet just stood there for a while looking out the window then the maid said. “He thinks you will never forgive him Violet.”

Violet turned and looked at her. “I love him and I will forgive him. But I don’t know how much of this I can take.” She rubbed her arms turned back and looked out the window.

The maid smiled. “I know you love him and will forgive him Violet, but he has to learn that yet. He has a lot to learn on forgiving.” she turned and walked out the door.

Violet waited and waited for Sam to get home. When she saw the limo pull up she got butterflies in her stomach. She heard him coming down the hall and he opened the door. She could tell he was drinking. He closed the door and stood there looking at Violet. He thought she would be in her room but she wasn’t. He was surprised to see her waiting for him. Violet looked at him and tears started to fall. She rushed up to him and put her arms around him. “I love you Sam,” she whispered in his ear.

Sam didn’t know what to think. He pulled her back and looked at her. “After what I done?”

Violet nodded yes and kissed him. Sam had strange feelings running through him.

“I love you to Violet,” and soon their desires were burning.

When they awoke, Violet rolled over and Sam saw the marks he left on her arms. He gasps and covered his mouth.

Violet sat up real quick. “Sam I love you.”

He didn’t want to start out their new life together this way. He was no better than her X.

“I will never leave another mark on you again Violet,” Sam choked.

“I know Sam. I know.” Violet got close to him kissed him. Then she looked at him and smiled.

“What are you smiling for Violet, look what I have done to you.” Sam said.

  “4?” Violet questioned.

Sam just sat there he sort of laughed and shook his head. “Oh Violet.”

Violet giggled. “Well you going to keep me guessing or what?” she said playfully.

“I like it when you guess,” Sam replied. He leaned in and kissed her. His kiss trailed to her neck then shoulders. He kissed her arms. “I am so sorry” as he kissed her bruises.

She ran her fingers threw his hair. “Sam we can’t have children if you keep kissing me there saying you’re sorry.” Violet smiled.

He looked up, “You really forgive me Violet?”

  “I do Sam,” she smiled.

Sam felt a feeling he never felt that night, feelings of true forgiveness and love. He would never doubt Violets love and attentions for him again. He now realized all she wanted from him was love and nothing more. He had total faith and trust in his Violet.

Sam kissed her lips then her neck Violet gasps “Oh Sam”.

But for Violet, Sam put her through so much, she still was afraid her love would end in something horrible. She tried so hard to ignore the feelings, but that little voice was still there reminding her all the time.

  Chapter 9

Sam was thinking that Violet would get pregnant like overnight. He kept watching Violet then he would look at the maid and she would shake her head no. Everyone told Sam he would be able to tell by the way Violet looked and acted. But she never seemed to change. Sam finally gave up watching her.

Violet herself was thinking it was never going to happen as well. She also started getting depressed because Sam’s birthday was coming up and she didn’t know what to get him.

But then every time she tried to surprise him before something went wrong. That voice, ‘don’t do it Violet. You know what will happen.’ So not only was that upsetting her she was getting scared. Because when she tried to surprise him he thought she was out to get him and started not trusting her. All kinds of things were going through Violets head. Sam noticed her nervousness.

“Violet, you seem so tense and uptight.” He said at dinner one evening.

“It’s just your birthday Sam, is coming soon,” she looked at him.

He smiled. “And so it is.”

“I have nothing to give you of my own,” she p
outed.

“You’re all I need,” and he kissed her hand.

“You know what I mean Sam. You told me once you get gifts but it was from your own money so it’s like giving a gift to yourself.” She said in a pouting voice.

Sam thought about it. “Yes Violet, I did say that. But now we are husband and wife. Everything we have it’s ours not mine or yours understand?”

Violet sighed and shrugged her shoulders. “I guess,” she looked at Sam.

Sam knew how she felt she wanted to get him something she bought and paid for herself.

“Tell you what Violet, if you really want we can set you up in a business of your own. I know you would be great at it.” Sam looked at her. He knew she would be great in her own business she proved that once before. But he really didn’t want her to but offered to her any way.

Violet thought about it she smiled at the thought. But then she thought about the horrible things that could happen and the things that have. Her kidnapping all those women that hated her because of Sam and his untrusting at times. “No Sam,” she replied with a stern voice.

“No?” Sam was really shocked, glad, but wanted to know why. “Why Violet.”

She looked down at the table. “I am too afraid,” and then tears started to build.

“Afraid Violet? What are you afraid of?”

“Just am Sam, I just am,” that’s all she would say.

Sam started to think his once strong independent Violet was now so delicate.

He realized it was mostly because of him. All those times she just wanted love, and he couldn’t trust himself to trust that’s all she wanted. But now he does trust her, but he doesn’t know how to make her believe it. And still now and again she has nightmares. He would call the police and ask about her assailant, the reply was always the same, still in prison. He knew that would be hard for to get over, but she put up a brave front.

Time went on and Sam came home from work one day. “Where’s Violet,” he asked.

“In the pool,” the maid just smiled at Sam. Sam couldn’t figure out why the maid smiled at him the way she did and he just sort of looked at her as he walked by.

Sam went out to the pool and Violet was getting out. He stood there and watched. She was stunning and glowing. Her breasts were fuller and she had a little pouch. She was walking up to him and she was smiling. Sam knew right then. He thought she was going to tell him and he was excited.

She kissed him. “Glad your home.”

“You look amazing Violet,” he smiled at her.

Violet blushed a little. “Thank you,” she grinned and said. “Catch me if you can,” and headed for the steps. Sam thought why didn’t she tell him? Then he smiled his birthday was a couple days away. He turned to chase Violet he looked at the maid and she nodded.

Now he knew why the maid smiled at him the way she did. Sam had the biggest grin as he caught up to Violet.

Sam’s birthday finally arrived and Violet was nervous. She waited and waited for him to get home. It seemed like time stopped. She had a nice dinner planned. When he got home she met him at the door. She kissed him and wished him a happy birthday. He went upstairs got cleaned up and came down for dinner.

  “Violet, this looks wonderful.”

  “Thank you.”

They sat down and Violet said “I want to give you my present first Sam.”

  “Okay Violet.” Sam smiled.

Violet handed Sam a card and he read it. “Congratulations you’re going to be a daddy, Happy Birthday. Love Violet.”

Sam looked at Violet. “A baby Violet?” he said trying to look surprised.

  “Yes Sam,” she said smiling.

Sam went over and helped her to her feet kissed her. Picked her up and headed for the steps. When the maid and other servants came out with their dinner the maid said “Where they go?” she picked up the card and read it. Sam and Violet heard a shriek of joy. They looked at each other and laughed. Sam loved Violet so tenderly and passionately. Everyone was right he could tell. And Violet kept it from him for a while. But he couldn’t help but notice when she got out of the pool that day.

Later on he asked “How far Violet?”

  “3 months.”

“3 months Violet, you kept this from me for 3 months?” he looked at her.

“What else was I supposed to get for your birthday,” she smiled at him but it soon faded.

“Have you seen the doctors yet?”

  “Yes Sam I have.”

  “When’s the due date?”

Violet told him and Sam sat up real quick. It shocked Violet and he looked at her.

“What’s wrong Sam?” she quickly said.

“Violet, don’t you know what day that is?”

“No Sam I don’t. I hope it isn’t something bad,” she started to get nervous.

Sam smiled. “No Violet, nothing bad.” He kissed her hand and said. “You have to be the most beautiful woman here tonight,” he just gazed at her.

Violet gasps. “Oh Sam, you’re kidding? How can you remember things like that?” she questioned

“How can I forget the first day I laid eyes on the most beautiful woman in the world,” he smiled.

  “Oh Sam.” Violet blushed.

Sam kissed her tenderly, “I love you so much Violet.”

Violet saw it and felt the sincerity. She knew he really did love her, but what about trust? She didn’t want to think about it, she didn’t want to ruin this moment.

When Sam and Violet came down the whole household was smiling and carrying on. They were congratulating them both. Violet was blushing and Sam was grinning from ear to ear.

Violet was getting farther and farther along and she started getting a fear. She wouldn’t leave the house. The maid was concerned and told Sam. But Sam didn’t take it too serious at first. Violet would order things from catalogs or have shoppers shop for her. She thought someone would be after her and Sam’s child now, after all he was so wealthy and did have enemies. She also had other thoughts running through her mind but she kept them to herself. She always had a feeling she was being watched. She always felt uncomfortable. And that day, that horrible day would creep back into her mind.

One day Sam told Violet they had an event they needed to attend.

“So Violet, you have something nice to wear?” He winked at her playfully and patted her belly.

Violet started to panic, she had to calm herself, she took a deep breath, “I am not feeling too well Sam. Do you mind if I skip this one?”

“This is very important…” He was going to argue with her, but the look on her face told him otherwise. “Okay Violet. Do you need a doctor or something?”

“No Sam just some rest.” She gave him a faint smile.

When the maid came in, she glanced at Sam. Then he knew there might be something to this. He would watch his Violet more carefully.

A few weeks later Sam again told Violet of an event and again she said she wasn’t feeling well. His suspicions started to rise.

Violet was nervous, something bad is going to happen. She started closing herself away from everyone.

When Sam told Violet they needed to have an event at their home and Violet almost lost it. She calmed herself. She knew Sam was up to something, she didn’t want him to get suspicions, so she agreed. The night of the event Sam noticed she stayed hidden for most of the night. She talked to Todd, but that was about it. He didn’t know if she felt ashamed of the way she looked now or what. But he thought she looked beautiful. The event was over and Violet was tired. “You have a good time tonight?”

“Yes, but I missed my wife most of the night.” He glanced at her.

“I am sorry Sam, but I felt uncomfortable.”

He smiled, she was radiant. “I understand Violet.” And they went to bed.

The maid again told Sam she was concerned with Violet. She told Sam she hasn’t left the house in months. Sam decided he wanted to put an end to this, so he called.

  “Violet
, how about lunch today with your handsome husband?”

Violet smiled, “Any other time I would Sam. But I am so busy with the nursery at the moment.”

He knew the nursery was almost done she didn’t have much to do. Sam left and went home early. When he got there he looked in the nursery and nothing was different and Violet was sleeping. He didn’t want to wake her so he went downstairs to the study. He saw all the catalogs and things circled. He saw a list of things that needed to be picked up and who was getting what. He looked up and saw Violet.

  “You’re early.” Violet smiled.

“Just worried about you that’s all.”

  “Worried why?”

“Well seems to me you have been keeping yourself cooped up the past few months,” Sam went up to her.

“I just don’t feel like going anywhere Sam,” she looked away from him.

“Not even to lunch with me Violet?”

  Violet just shrugged her shoulders.

“Violet, what is going on with you?” Sam said and he grabbed her hands.

Violet took a deep breath. “I am scared Sam.”

  “Scared Violet, of what?”

Violet shrugged her shoulder again and said. “I just am.”

“Violet, you have been telling me that for a long time. Every time I ask, you say the same thing. What are you scared of.” Sam picked up her chin so she would be looking at him.

Violet’s eyes filled with tears and she tried to look away but Sam wouldn’t let her.

“Mrs. Violet your order is here,” announced the maid.

“Just leave it for now.” Sam looked at the maid.

  “As you wish.”

“Violet, answer me.” Sam said softly.

But Violet just stood there with no answer. Just tears falling. Sam pulled her close and kissed her. He now knew something was definitely wrong with his Violet. Sam led Violet to the couch and set her down. He sat down next to her took her hands in his and asked her again what was wrong. She looked at him with tears filled eyes and said. “I am afraid someone will try and take our child,” she pulled her hands from Sam’s and put them on her stomach and cried even harder.

“Oh my poor Violet,” Sam pulled her close and held her as she cried. He could totally understand the way she felt but he never thought about it. After Violet settled down a little bit Sam looked at her. “Would it make you feel better if had had someone around to protect you?”
