Emilio looked to Mackenzie. “What do you think?”
“Yeah, absolutely. If Billy can have a chance to heal up before we try to get back, it greatly increases our odds of success.”
Emilio smiled. “We’re very grateful. I don’t know how we could ever repay you.”
“Nonsense.” Moishe waved his hands in the air. “You’ve already brought us the most valuable treasure of all. You’ve revealed Mashiach to us.
“And furthermore,” Moishe continued with his authoritative tone. “When you leave, we’ll provide an escort to get you out of New York City and a vehicle with fuel to get you home.”
“You’re too generous,” said Emilio. “We may have vehicles in Battery Park if they weren’t all stolen or confiscated by the empire. If we can do anything else, please let us know.”
“There is one thing,” said Moishe.
“Name it. Anything. We’re in your debt.”
“The little book, the Greek Scriptures…”
Emilio replied, “You mean the New Testament.”
“Yes, yes. The New Testament. Does it have anything to say about the things to come? Specifically about the time we are living in?”
A large smile came over Emilio’s face. “Oh yeah. It most certainly does!”
