The male laughed uneasily. “Oh yeah. Do I get to make you cum now?”

The pleasure that rocketed through him blurred his vision. An omega wanting to please him was an amazing thing. It made him feel like an alpha. He grinned stupidly. Kole had turned his world upside down just as he’d suspected, but in a completely different way.

As Kole licked his lips, Braun rolled onto his back. He was leaking everywhere, the thick pre-cum leaving a smear on Kole’s hip. He’d probably ruined his comforter. Throwing a searing eye to Kole, he said, “Look what you’ve done, omega.”

Kole’s cheeks plumped as he grinned, totally unrepentant.

“Now you’re going to have to clean me up.”

His eyes dropped to Braun’s cock, the hunger in them evident. But before he could make a move, Braun’s phone started going off in the other room, startling them both. “Ignore it,” he commanded.

Kole was on board with that plan, but the fucker wouldn’t stop ringing.

“Fuck,” Braun snarled, his voice booming. Whoever was on the other line would pay dearly for interrupting his time with his omega.

Laughing, Kole got up and rushed into the kitchen to retrieve it. Braun’s cock stood straight up, a bead of lubrication dripping down the shaft. It left a trail of moisture as it went, slipping over his swollen knot. He was so achy and needy. He’d never been this aroused, this ready to mate.

Kole came to stand at the door jamb of his bedroom, the phone pressed to his ear. Tears collected in the corners of his eyes, but he smiled. “Dad.”

  Chapter 11

Kole grinned as he sent Braun a dirty text, detailing the promise of the blowjob he was owed.

“Shit!” he snarled as his game character was killed brutally. He laughed at having gotten distracted. When he’d dragged himself out of bed at nine this morning, he’d found that Braun had assembled the PlayStation and hooked it up to his giant curved flatscreen. It was a world of difference than Kole’s little 22-inch television back home.

Things were looking fucking bright right now. With his father and the pack safe, and Braun giving into what they both wanted, it was as if an adventure had come Kole’s way. Being in this big, lavish place made him feel like a pauper swept off his feet by a prince. The cherry on top was that he’d awaken in Braun’s bed, the alpha stroking him tenderly. Braun hadn’t attempted to slip away unnoticed or cut contact in an effort to put distance between them after what they’d done last night. He couldn’t help being a little disappointed that Braun hadn’t claimed him, but it was only a matter of time before he did.

Besides, what Braun had done to him had been on another level. Kole clenched his asshole. He could still feel the alpha exploring him. He’d never had his bud touched before. It was all new to him.

His phone chimed again and Kole grinned like an idiot. They’d been trading texts all morning, and he knew the moment the alpha returned from work, a tumble in his comfy bed was in order. He had a blowjob to finish. After talking to Dad and the pack last night for a good hour, Braun had accepted that he was too emotionally raw to do anything further. It touched Kole’s heart to know that Braun had understood and accepted that.

Licking his lips, he remembered what it was like to have Braun in his mouth. All that hardness incased in velvet, warm and pulsating against his tongue. And his taste… Braun had leaked like a faucet, his body ready to mate.

Feeling mischievous, he took out his hard cock from his pants and snapped a photo. He sent it over to Braun. Not a moment later, his phone rang.

“Stop being a slut. You’re distracting me,” Braun growled lowly.

“That’s the point,” Kole murmured. “I’m sitting here all by myself, waiting for you to come upstairs and take me properly. I want to feel you inside of me. I want you to fuck me.”

The alpha groaned and hung up. Amused, Kole figured it was time to back off for a bit. From what he understood of Braun’s job, it was important to get dangerous magical artifacts off the streets. He abandoned his video game and peeked his head in the fridge. Sneering at all the health food, he decided to take a walk and get some carryout. He got dressed and groomed himself half-assed then made his way downstairs.

He found the receptionist sitting at the giant marble desk, tapping her nails on the keyboard. She noticed him and tossed him a friendly smile.

  “Hello,” Kole muttered. “Linda, right?”

“That be me,” she said and swiveled her chair around to regard him. “Is there anything I can help you with? If you’re looking for Braun, he’s on the third floor. You’ll have to take the common elevators up there.”

“Ah, no, I’m sure he’s busy. I was just wondering if you knew if there were any good places around here to eat? There is only so much grains and oats I can take.”

The human laughed, looking truly amused. “I feel your pain. I love my warm grain salads, but sometimes I feel like I’m going to turn into a plant. There is a deli on the corner that I highly recommend. When you leave, walk left. It’s right on the corner, you can’t miss it.”

“Thanks.” Kole stepped outside and was momentarily taken back by the blare of car horns and crowd of humans. He hadn’t explored the city yet and added it to his list of things to do in Chicago. Although, he didn’t see himself leaving Braun’s bedroom often.

Following Linda’s directions, he took his time, walking leisurely. Braun’s building was one of the shorter ones, the modern office buildings dwarfing his, but their architecture was plain. The Stone building was a little slice of ageless grace in a sea of modern innovation. He passed by shops of all kinds from clothing to home furnishings to niche dining experiences. He couldn’t imagine ever running out of things to do here.

He found the deli and entered. The shop was packed, and he took his place in line. He ordered several sandwiches, soups and a salad for Linda along with some choice bakery items. He fished out the black Amex card Braun had gifted him with, drawing a raised eyebrow from the cashier. A half hour later, he left the deli with two big bags of grub.

Linda was still at the desk when he returned.

“I got you something,” he said and dug through the bags for her salad. “It’s Caesar. Or would you like a sandwich?”

“How sweet! The Caesar is great,” she said, accepting the container.

“Can I ask you a question?” He inquired and pulled out his Cuban pulled-pork sandwich. “What exactly do you do? You seem kind of isolated here surrounded by tons of marble and the echo of your own voice.”

“It is a bit lonely, isn’t it? The main focus of my job is to direct guests to where they need to go. I also accept packages, mail letters and send out emails.” She shot him an amused look. “And every now and then run to the store to purchase video games.”

Kole blushed and looked down. “There isn’t a whole lot to do up there. The guy needs to hire an entertainer with all that cash he’s got.”

“Well, when he’s not working, he spends most his time at Sanctuary.”

Kole froze with his mouth open, the sandwich halfway between.

  Linda smiled. “I know everything.”

Everything? Setting down his food, he did a once over on her. Could she be a witch? Even magically inclined humans smelled human.

  “He didn’t tell you, huh?”

Unsure they were discussing the same thing, Kole carefully said, “Tell me about what?”

“Braun is very careful with his work. His real work. It’s true that all kinds of people work here. He recovers stolen jewelry and art, but for the special jobs, he employs a myriad of magical creatures,” she said and poured some dressing on her salad as if it were any other day. “I know his true nature. I know you’re like him. My father was a shapeshifter. My mother is human. The change passed me by, though I was imbued with certain gifts.”

Kole could do nothing but blink at her. She looked human, she smelled human and if she hadn’t said anything he would have never known she was anything but. “Wait… your fath
er?”

She shrugged. “I guess he had an attraction for women. From what I understand its rare for humans and shifters to conceive but… well, here I am.”

“I had no idea,” Kole said. He took a bite of his sandwich, eyeing her suspiciously. He swallowed. “What kind of gifts?”

“Heightened senses mostly.” She tapped her ear. “The hearing was always a pain when I was young. I’d hear all these sounds—whispers, heartbeats, low-frequency hums from the factories miles away. Braun taught me how to control it and tune things out.”

He couldn’t stop staring at her. He had so many questions. “What about your father?”

Linda shrugged and mixed her salad. “Apparently he died while serving the Magistrate in some secret operation or another. Honestly, I’m not overly involved in your world. I just know it exists and they know I do. Braun offered me this job when I turned eighteen. I know his intentions were pure, but the Magistrate can keep an eye on me this way, I suppose.”

“I’m sorry,” he said, looking to his sandwich and not all that hungry suddenly. “I lost my omega-father when I was young.”

She reached out and covered his hand with hers, her skin remarkably smooth. She offered him a tender smile. “So, Braun rescued you from some nefarious plan or sad fate? He didn’t tell me much, and I don’t question.”

“My father’s pack is being threatened by a wildblood. They’re feral shifters that usually live off grid and are ruled by the animal instinct.” The whole thing with his father sending him away was still a fresh wound. “I guess he thought I’d be safer with Braun. Apparently, they were best friends a long time ago.”

“Well,” she said, looking around. “Besides the Magistrate’s Keep, I can’t think of a safer place for you to be. Don’t be fooled by all the old-fashioned architecture, this place his filled with secrets, many of which I haven’t cracked yet. More than that, though Braun won’t let anything happen to those he cares about.”

They talked for a long while in between their lunch, trading stories about their youth. Kole listened as she talked about what it was like to work here. The more she shared, the more he warmed to Braun. The alpha seemed like a good guy, caring and generous. He could hear her love for him in her voice and see it in her gaze.

Linda dried a tear from her eye as she came down from a bout of laughter, having detailed the time Braun visited her family for her sixteenth birthday. “You should have seen the look on his face when he realized all the mothers of my friends wanted to get into his pants. If ever you’ve seen a shapeshifter out of his element, that was it.”

Kole couldn’t help grinning until his cheeks hurt. He didn’t make it a habit of interacting with humans and probably wouldn’t know what to do if a female hit on him, either.

“To tell you the truth, I always viewed Braun as my adoptive father. He wasn’t always around but made sure my mother and I were taken care of when my biological father couldn’t.”

His phone rang and he looked at the screen to find that it was Braun. He answered.

“Where are you?” Braun snarled into the phone. “I arranged to leave work early and you’re not here. I want that blowjob you promised.”

Heat rushed through him and he quickly killed the connection, sure she’d heard their brief conversation. If she did, she didn’t show any indication.

“I better get going,” Kole said, gathering the bags of food. “It was nice talking to you.”

“Don’t be a stranger. You can come spend time with me whenever you want,” she said, her gaze flashing to him for a brief moment. “Have fun.”

As he retreated toward the elevator, he was sure their secret was out.

  Chapter 12

Braun watched as the cupcake-shaped stress ball squished between his fist. It had been a gift from one of his employee’s young daughters on bring your kid to work day. His wolf was agitated. After hours of his omega teasing and tempting him, he’d arranged to leave the offices early, only to find that Kole was not here.

He squeezed as hard as he could, until the foam started to crack. He released the pressure and watched as the stress ball slowly reformed its shape. The television was playing an endless loop of a game chine, adding to his frustration. Where the hell had Kole gone, anyway?

As the minutes ticked by, he started to worry. What if he were in a dangerous part of the city without protection?

The ding of the elevator stilled his heart and Braun shot to his feet. A moment later, Kole stepped in with several bags of food.

“Where have you been?” Braun demanded as he marched into the kitchen.

Kole frowned at him and set the bags on the counter. “I went to get some lunch and was talking to Linda. Is she really a half-breed?”

“Yes,” he said simply and wrapped his arms around his omega. He planted several kisses along Kole’s neck, needing to feel the solidness of his body, and the warmth of his skin. Knowing that he was safe and whole relieved his beast.

Tipping his head to the side, Kole said, “I didn’t know we could crossbreed. She said she can’t shift but possesses heightened senses.”

Braun muttered an affirmation and took Kole’s hand in his. He pushed his palm into his crotch. “Look what you did.”

Smiling like a motherfucker, Kole’s eyes blazed with satisfaction. “You’re leaking.”

He growled. “Thanks to you, I’ve had to go to the bathroom ten times just to make sure I don’t cream my pants in the middle of a meeting. Do you think I’m going to let that slide?”

He didn’t give Kole a chance to respond. With his strength, he threw the omega over his shoulder and headed for the bedroom. An excitement he’d never known before took a hold.

“Not again!” Kole hedged. “You caveman.”

Braun set him on the bed and went about stripping him until he was gloriously naked. All that unmarred, sun-kissed skin. He skimmed his gaze over every muscle, following the soft dip and rise of his abs down to his cock that was quickly rising to attention. Mine. My omega.

He was rough as he took Kole over his knee and started spanking him.

“Hey! What are you doing?” Kole growled and fought against him. “Ow!”

“This is for purposely distracting me while I am trying to work.” He laid into Kole’s ass steadily, the crack of his palm filling the room. Kole struggled to no avail and his angry hisses turned into desperate whimpers. A nice blush spread through his ass-cheeks and Braun rubbed the sting away. “Are you going to continue to act like a slut and distract me?”

  Kole nodded without hesitation.

“Good,” Braun said, grinning. It was nice that they were so in tune Kole knew when he was serious or not. He laid down several more slaps, eliciting surprised gasps. More than that though, Kole had stopped fighting. He was submitting and Braun’s wolf howled with approval.

Skimming his palm in circles, he admired the shape of his lover’s plump ass. He’d enjoyed pleasuring Kole with his tongue and looked forward to doing it again. After a long rimming session, he would sink his cock deep until he wasn’t sure where he ended, and his mate began. But that was the way it was supposed to be. The two halves became the whole. My mate.

Braun gathered him up in bed, covering Kole’s body with his own. He sought out his lips and Kole opened for him. He kissed him tenderly, their tongues tangling, Kole’s little mewls revving Braun. He took his time, gently exploring every corner, tasting his lover’s lips with an unquenchable thirst. He could do this for hours. Kole squirmed against him and wrapped his legs around his hips.

Moving to the male’s throat, he kissed, licked and sucked, leaving little marks. He moved lower, sampling every inch of Kole’s skin, tasting the salt and scenting intense pheromones. Kole watched with wide eyes as he pulled his nipple into his mouth. Nails dug into his shoulders and he sucked and swirled his tongue around the little bud the same way Kole had pleasured his prick.

“Two can play at that game,” Braun murmured. “I should tie you up a
nd bring you to the edge then keep you there for hours until you beg me to stop.”

Kole moaned in need and it was beautiful. Reaching between their bodies, Braun gripped his lover’s dick and squeezed. His omega was hard, his cock pulsating with need. It was exactly where he wanted him.

“Come here,” he said roughly, lying on his back. “You’re going to finish what you started.”

The male’s grin was pure satisfaction as he settled between Braun’s legs. He took his prick in hand and squeezed, drawing out a droplet of pre-cum. With a little growl of approval, Kole covered his cock with his mouth. Closing his eyes, Braun focused on the sloppy sounds of sucking, the explosion of pheromones and the generally fantastic sensation of pressure deep in his gut. This was exactly what he needed.

“We’re going to set up a routine,” Braun rasped. “After a hard day of work, I expect you on your knees when I return, ready to pleasure me.”

The omega clearly loved that idea, quickening his pace. The orgasm built, the pressure having backed up from last night. Kole was attentive and wrapped his hand around Braun’s knot and focused on sucking at the glans in an effort to coax the climax to the surface. One look at the male pleasuring him, his mouth full, his efforts genuine was the last thing Braun needed. He exploded with a feral growl as he pumped his seed down his lover’s throat.

The pleasure was body-shattering. His eyelids peeled back as he watched Kole take everything he had to give. The male broke off, his eyes hooded, his lips honeyed. He tightened his grip around Braun’s enlarged knot.

“More?” He rasped and licked his lips.

Braun nodded. The pressure was still there, tightening, preparing to fire off another load. He couldn’t do anything about it and was thankful Kole knew what he needed. Digging his fingers into the bed, Braun hung on for the ride. He rarely came more than once, but Kole had ignited a fire inside of him. The second orgasm rose up and he roared in victory. His knot deflated, the release of pressure welcomed.
