Too late, Maciek heard the cry of the large mother eagle diving down at him from high above to protect the nest below.
The sudden impact of the massive bird as it collided against his body, caught him unawares and slightly off balance.
His eyes saw his fingers lose their grip with the cliff face.
His stomach sensed the sudden movement as he began to fall rapidly down the cliff. His ears sent signals to his brain telling him that he was turning, falling backwards, spinning in the air.
