“Nothing has ever sounded more perfect.”

Focus on the Chinese food hadn’t lasted long. Two bites? Three, maybe? Bella hadn’t been able to pay much attention before Easton’s mouth was on hers, the lo mein and the cashew chicken moved to a dresser and instantly forgotten. Which, of course, was totally expected the second it was suggested that they eat in the bedroom.
“A bed instead of a couch, huh?” Bella had asked teasingly. “I’m moving up in the world.”
“Hey, you’re the one who was all about the couch that night,” Easton teased back.
That night. That night had been amazing. It had been a cure, though. It had filled a void for Bella.
Tonight, though? Yeah, tonight was different.
Bella knew that immediately. From the first kiss, which Easton had initiated, and Bella was grateful for that. The last time they were together hadn’t been as much about them as it had about connection in general. About feeling enmeshed with somebody. About feeling not alone.
This time, it was about them.
Easton was everywhere. It was the only clear sentence Bella could manage to form in her brain as she lay on her back in Easton’s bed, trying to pinpoint where the indescribable pleasure her body felt was coming from. Easton was everywhere. Her hands. Her mouth. Her tongue. Her body. Her voice. All of her. Every inch of her surrounded Bella, touched her, loved her, lifted her higher and higher until she felt as if she was floating.
With no recollection of her clothes having come off, Bella lay naked beneath the most beautiful woman she’d ever laid eyes on. Easton’s mouth on hers, Easton’s tongue pushing in deeply, Bella gave back as much as she could, though she wanted more. Always more. She couldn’t touch Easton enough, couldn’t feel enough of her skin, couldn’t smell enough of her scent, couldn’t push her own tongue deeply enough into Easton’s mouth. She managed to fumble Easton’s bra off and capture both breasts in her hands, pulling a moan from Easton’s throat. But Bella wanted more. So much more of everything.
“God, can’t get enough of you,” Easton whispered, as if reading Bella’s mind. “You’re so damn sexy.”
“Yeah? Right back atcha,” Bella told her, then tightened her grip and groaned as Easton’s knee, tucked between Bella’s legs, pushed up into her, pressed against her, rocked gently. Bella gasped at the contact.
“Yeah?” Easton asked. “You like that?”
“Very much.” Bella was surprised she was able to form words at all, even two small ones, but that talent left her altogether when Easton slid a hand down her stomach and into her wetness, replacing her knee with alarmingly skilled fingers that seemed to know just what Bella needed.
It was too much. Was it too much? It was definitely too much. Bella tightened her grip on Easton, picked up Easton’s rhythm as they moved together, gently at first, then more insistently. Her orgasm was hurtling toward her as Easton wrenched their mouths apart.
“Look at me,” she whispered, and Bella had to force her eyes open. Easton didn’t stop moving, didn’t stop rocking. Just held Bella’s gaze. And what Bella saw in Easton’s eyes was something she’d never seen before. Never felt. She felt her own eyes tear as the words she knew were coming tumbled softly from Easton’s lips. “I love you, Bella. I know it’s too soon to say that, but I can’t help it. It’s true. I’m so in love with you.”
Though she’d had plenty of warning it was on its way, Bella’s orgasm dropped her off a cliff then, sent her rocketing through space on a stream of color and sensation as every muscle in her body tightened and she pulled Easton down to her, wrapped her arms around her, held on with everything she had.
Time was impossible. It meant nothing. Bella had zero idea of how long she lay there, catching her breath, eyes closed, the delicious weight of Easton’s body pressing hers to the mattress. Might have been a lifetime. She had no idea. She didn’t care. All she knew was that she was perfectly happy to stay just like that and never move.
Easton was the first to shift. She lifted her head from Bella’s shoulder, pushed herself off to the side slightly, and Bella immediately missed the feel of her, the warmth. After a moment, Bella opened her eyes and focused on the gorgeous female form next to her.
Easton’s face seemed…pensive. Uncertain. Her eyes darted a bit.
“Hey,” Bella said softly. She smiled, reached for Easton’s chin, turned her head so she could look her in the eye. “Don’t you know?”
Easton’s dark brows formed a V above her nose. “Don’t I know what?”
Bella’s smile grew wide; she could feel it. Her heart warmed in her chest and she had the strangest sense that her soul…settled. It was the only way to describe it. She felt settled. Like she was exactly where she was supposed to be. Finally. It was almost weird, almost fantastical that things would’ve ended up this way, that she would feel this way. How was it even possible? Fifteen years had gone by. Bella had done everything she could to scrub Easton from her memory and for the most part, she’d succeeded. But now? This? Looking into those big blue eyes, eyes that had drawn her for so long, eyes that held such love and kindness, eyes that were waiting for her response, Bella spoke the truth that suddenly filled her heart to overflowing, a truth so deep she didn’t understand how she’d ever missed it. She let the words out. “Don’t you know it’s always been you? For the past fifteen years? I’ve tucked you away, but you never left. You’ve always been hanging out in the background somewhere, just waiting…waiting.”
Easton’s eyes widened, then filled, and a tear spilled over as she blinked at Bella. Bella caught the tear with her thumb, stroked Easton’s cheek, and said it again, because nothing had ever felt so completely right.
“It’s always been you.”
