Made Men 7: Love on the Brain

Fina is trying to protect her heart and make smart choices, but that's hard to do when she is attracted to three Russian enforcers and has love on the brain.

When two men start stalking her and bother her at a club, the last thing she expects is to be rescued by three made men. They always seem to be around, and when they finally decide to kiss her, despite her resistance, there's no way she can ignore them. However, bad experiences with men put her on guard, and she isn't quite sure that these three men have the capabilities or desire to take women seriously or as more than just a roll in the hay.

As they begin to make progress and figure out their attraction is super strong, Fina holds off letting them stay the night and nearly misses her opportunity to love them. When someone attempts to abduct her, the men rescue her and realize that Fina is more than just some woman they desire. She has become their world.

But danger still lurks in the shadows, and when she is taken from them, Andriy, Hadeon, and Paulo will do whatever it takes to get to the woman they love, and they will kill anyone in their path trying to stop them.

  DEDICATION

  Dear readers,

Thank you for purchasing this legal copy of Love on the Brain.

Fina is special for many reasons. She has experienced heart ache, betrayal, and abuse. She knows what she doesn’t want, and that’s to be just another woman burned by another man, or simply used by a man.

For some crazy reason, she feels a major attraction to three very complicated, demanding, made men. Each time she sees them, she likes them more and more. When they kiss, it’s amazing, but her fears from the past are holding her back. They soon become her every thought, and it seems like life is nothing without them in it. Love on the brain is what Fina calls it. Every thought, every action, every move she makes revolves around these three men and what they mean to her. Can she take a chance that it’s more than temporary?

Find out in Love on the Brain.

  Happy reading,

  Hugs!

  Dixie

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

People seem to be more interested in my name than where I get my ideas for my stories from. So I might as well share the story behind my name with all my readers.

My momma was born and raised in New Orleans. At the age of twenty, she met and fell in love with an Irishman named Patrick Riley Dwyer. Needless to say, the family was a bit taken aback by this as they hoped she would marry a family friend. It was a modern day arranged marriage kind of thing and my momma downright refused.

Being that my momma’s families were descendants of the original English speaking Southerners, they wanted the family blood line to stay pure. They were wealthy and my father’s family was poor.

Despite attempts by my grandpapa to make Patrick leave and destroy the love between them, my parents married. They recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.

I am one of six children born to Patrick and Lynn Dwyer. I am a combination of both Irish and a true Southern belle. With a name like Dixie Lynn Dwyer it’s no wonder why people are curious about my name.

Just as my parents had a love story of their own, I grew up intrigued by the lifestyles of others. My imagination as well as my need to stray from the straight and narrow made me into the woman I am today.

Enjoy Love on the Brain and allow your imagination to soar freely.

  Prologue

“Leave me the hell alone, damn it!” Fina Linguante yelled into the cell phone, having taken the call from what she thought was a private caller but who turned out to be the same asshole who had been bothering her weeks before. She wondered if his buddy was next to him encouraging him to harass her.

“Don’t get angry, baby. We want to see you.”

“No. Enough is enough. If you keep calling and bothering me I’ll call the police,” she said to Jonah.

  “You won’t.”

“I will, too. I’ve had it. Now stop calling me, or I’ll press charges.”

She disconnected the call, felt her hands shaking from upset and fear. Fina wasn’t a confrontational person. She wasn’t a pushover either, but she always thought if faced with a potential bad or dangerous situation that she would know how to handle it. She didn’t know. She was concerned. What if Jonah and Bader forced themselves into her apartment, or tried something while she was on her way home one night? What if they were some sort of serial rapists? Oh God.

She covered her mouth and felt the tears hit her eyes. That panicked, unsure feeling got worse. Why was she always meeting shitty men? Men who drooled over her body, complimented her good looks, but then put her down, controlled her, and made her feel inferior and less important? Not that she was really comparing Jonah and Bader to Brian. She didn’t even really date Jonah and Bader. They fooled around a bit. Kissed, petted, got together for lunch once, and then she felt that uneasy feeling as they asked for all her information. Cell phone, address, where she worked, where she hung out most, who her friends were, ex-boyfriends, it was like an interrogation and instant declaration of ownership of her life and she put a halt to it immediately. Neither man seemed to like her declines, and eventually she blew them off entirely. They just didn’t get it. Jonah and Bader really thought they owned her just because they kissed her, took her out once, and spoke a bunch on the phone. Here she was again
, alone, untrusting, but also fearful of whether or not this situation could get worse.

She was getting annoyed. Jonah and Bader were two men she met months ago through an event she coordinated in Scarlesdale, New York. Jonah showed up at the same dinner party she attended a few days later and then his buddy, Bader, showed up at a club she was at with friends. She was attracted to the two guys, who were wealthy and had a bit of cockiness about them. Then they got creepy. They really started pushing her to go back to their place and even talked about the things they wanted to try with her. Nothing she was into, and she was relieved she found out their intentions and bedroom games—the instant control and ownership, and how they enjoyed being sort of like Doms or something—before she went along with them.

“Come on, baby. You know you’re into us. Let’s meet up,” Jonah had said to her as he held her wrist with his hand and tightened his hold. That look in his eyes, so dark with a sort of evil had her shaking her head and telling him to release her wrist. She knew, with every ounce of her gut, that these two men would hurt her physically and emotionally.

She told them both she never wanted to see them again. That hadn’t been the end of it.

She closed her eyes and took several unsteady breaths, trying to gain her composure. A headache began to form in her temples. She rubbed them and immediately thought about Jonah and Bader and what they may or may not have been capable of. She was worried, but was she being dramatic? They hadn’t shown up anywhere she was. They hadn’t bothered her in months. Why suddenly now?

Hadeon suddenly popped into her head. He had saved her from Bader and Jonah just a week after she told the two men that she wasn’t interested in dating them or sleeping with them. They had harassed her nonstop. Texted, called, and even drove past her apartment building. She caught one of them in their sports car watching the building, and the next night when she was out, Bader and Jonah followed her to the club where Bader made a move and forcibly kissed her, while Jonah grabbed her ass and nearly lifted her skirt. She had swung at them, but it wouldn’t have done a thing against the two much larger men. She was in trouble, and the club was so crowded that people didn’t even seem to notice what was going on. Jonah’s grip had been so tight around her body as he forcibly kissed her, while Bader pressed up against her back and held her arms as he pressed his mouth to her ear and ordered her to not make a scene, to cooperate and go with them. She had been petrified.

Hadeon appeared out of nowhere. Bader had pulled back, crying out in pain as Hadeon gripped the back of his neck and tossed him onto the dance floor, drawing everyone’s attention to them. With one look toward Jonah, the man released her, only for Hadeon to pull her next to him. He got rid of the men, threatened them, and then had her join him, Paulo, Andriy and some of their friends at a table near the bar. They watched over her and even gave her and her friend Donata rides home.

Fina opened her eyes and felt her heart racing. She figured Jonah and Bader would leave her alone once they dealt with Hadeon. How stupid could they be to mess with a man that big, that scary intense, with his dark brown eyes, crew cut hair, and six-foot-four stature? Hell, she was beyond intimidated by him, and add to that a sexy, deep, Russian accent where words came out sounding like orders, and she wanted to run and hide. He was a trained killer for the Russian mob. Were Jonah and Bader stupid, or had they still been watching her and realized that Hadeon, Paulo, and Andriy were only in New York for business?

She gulped. Were they going to start harassing her again? Should she call the police? Would they issue an order of protection? Was that being ridiculous on her part? She looked at her phone and debated calling the police and starting the process, and wondered whether or not she even could.

Admitting she was scared made her think about Hadeon, Paulo, and Andriy, and the fact that they were back in Chicago. Maybe it would be enough to keep Bader and Jonah away from her if they saw her with Hadeon again? God, why was she looking at Hadeon, Paulo, and Andriy as some sort of protectors? They weren’t her men, her guards. She wasn’t involved with them or any made men like some of her friends were. Did she want that?

Just thinking about their sizes, capabilities, and attitudes had her nibbling on her bottom lip. As attractive and sexy as those three men were, their capabilities, reputations as killers, as head security for Dmitri Sanclare, should have made her realize the potential danger she would be in if she were close to them. She thought Brian was controlling and abusive. Those Russian soldiers would ruin her entirely. She felt sick to her stomach, like butterflies were dancing in her belly, combining with this interest and desire to learn more about them, and wondering if they found her to be attractive or just some stupid, young woman who couldn’t defend herself against two large men wanting her in their bed.

It was worse than the feeling she used to get before having to give a speech in front of a large audience. Her mouth went dry, her voice quivered, her hands shook, and she imagined them. Hell, they had been the images in her fantasies that made her come at night when she was alone in bed and using her vibrator. They were so hot, so dangerous, and so sexy that she could think of them and those bodies—muscles upon muscles and tattoos she caught glimpses of by Andriy and Paulo’s wrists—and be pushed to the edge of pleasure.

Fina swallowed hard, feeling heated, aroused. Instant lust on the brain.

She caught wind of the possibility that they could be back in town, working on some new business deal here in New York any day now. It made her wonder how often she would see them. She wondered if she was going to see them Saturday night at the party at Club Magique. It was like a welcoming party for Rayanna. Fina couldn’t wait to see her and to get together with Bella, Gisella, Adelina, and the gang. It was going to be so much fun. She swallowed hard. What would she do when she saw Hadeon, Paulo, and Andriy? What was she going to do about Jonah and Bader? God, it would really suck if Mario and Johnny were there. How embarrassing? Well, at least she hadn’t slept with Johnny and Mario, though she had come close. They even called her to get together with her twice when they were visiting on jobs here in New York. Dominican Republic? My version of Vegas. Thank God I hadn’t slept with Johnny and Mario. At least they weren’t stalkers.

Johnny and Mario were actually pretty nice guys. She had fun with them, but because of Brian and the abusive, controlling relationships she had a few years back, she didn’t commit and didn’t want to. She always held back, never slept with another man, and even though opportunity after opportunity arose, she wouldn’t. To her, it seemed like once she slept with Brian he owned her in every way. He was a demanding, controlling batterer, and getting away from him took a broken arm and help from Bella, Sunny, and Vinny Costanza.

Her phone buzzed and she growled at it and looked at the text message. She exhaled and rolled her eyes. It wasn’t Jonah or Bader, it was Cassidy Cramer, the woman she was coordinating a fundraising event for next weekend at Club Magique. She organized everything with Angelo’s staff.

She looked at the text message.

Is it too late to add the red roses to the tables that are reserved for us, and something else to make them stand out from the other seats?

She smiled and had a feeling that Cassidy would want to make each table extra special. There were about forty people in attendance, Caprice was performing a new opening act, and regular guests would fill the surrounding tables. She had a great idea of adding deep red tablecloths with black lace overlay and very low bling canister vases with short, full red roses together as the centerpiece. It would be both sexy and classy. It was a fundraiser for a friend of Cassidy’s who was diagnosed with breast cancer and beat it, but the woman hated pink with a passion while red was her favorite color.

Leave it to me Cassidy and I’m certain that you will be thrilled on Friday.

She smiled and went onto her laptop and added the number of lace overlays she would need, as well as the roses from the florist she loved to use and the vases, which were almost done being made. She would need t
o pick those up on Thursday, then have the florist deliver the roses to Club Magique Friday morning so she could start setting everything up and making sure it was perfect. Then she would change outfits there and be ready to host the event as the coordinator. Fina smiled, knowing that it was going to be beautiful. She loved doing this kind of work. It was more out of fun than necessity, considering she made most of her money the last several years day trading. She had a nice savings account and was all set for some time. This was for enjoyment.

Her phone buzzed again and she looked down and swallowed hard. Jonah was texting.

We want to see you. Don’t say no.

She chewed her bottom lip and then exhaled, but she didn’t respond. The best thing to do was to ignore the two jerks. They would get the message. Eventually.

  Chapter 1

“It’s good to be back in New York, huh Hadeon?” Paulo asked as they put away their clothes, hung their suits, and got used to the new penthouse they were staying in.

“Da,” Hadeon mumbled in Russian, and Paulo cleared his throat.

“It may not be bad, this new responsibility and positions we have.” Andriy added.

“Maybe,” Hadeon said, and Paulo didn’t say anything more. It was the same old thing. The three of them were used to one another, used to coming and going when they pleased and leaving on short notice to enforce the power of their good friend, Dmitri Sanclare. Paulo personally enjoyed New York City and all the chaos and activities going on.
