“Push back against me, my goddess,” Dev ordered, his voice hoarse, and now his magic was shoving Daniel’s aside. When Dev got his lust on, Daniel’s magic couldn’t compete. When Dev got going, I would do anything he wanted sexually and I would enjoy it. Dev’s magic made pain feel like exquisite pleasure. He pushed himself carefully against me as I thrust my ass back, making sure not to lose Daniel. I moaned because I was so full I could barely breathe.

“Oh, goddess, I’m never going to last.” Dev groaned behind me.

“You’ll last as long as you need to, Dev,” Daniel warned even as he started to move. “We need to make her like this. I’m already a fucking addict.”

“You should try it,” Dev complained as he worked his way out only to tunnel back in. “She’s so damn tight back here. She’s like a vise on my dick.”

“I’m going to try it,” Daniel agreed, pleasure drugging his eyes.

“Can you…?” I was unsure how to phrase the question, but I so wanted to know the answer. “You know, what can you feel?”

Daniel seemed to know what I meant. “Are you asking if I can feel him? Yeah, we can feel each other. I feel him sliding against me and it feels fucking amazing.”

“It’s so good,” Dev agreed. “It’s what I wanted. The three of us together, sharing this.”

They were still moving very cautiously, allowing me to get used to the feeling. I was used to it and now I wanted more.

I bit my lip because I was so full of emotion, of lust, of them. “I’m dying here, guys. Please, please fuck me.”

Daniel’s eyes were dark and I couldn’t see Dev, but I heard him grunt as he got damn serious about what he was doing. Danny held my hips and pushed up while Dev ground into me, shoving me harder onto Daniel’s cock. I just held on for dear life, surrendering everything to the men who rode my body. I threw back my head as Dev hit someplace I had never known existed and I exploded.

I felt a wild magic hit me, and I came again, crying out as a wave of heat rolled over me.

“What the hell is that?” Danny asked, his eyes wide with wonder. I could tell he was feeding off the lust magic, and it was doing amazing things to him. His body was flushed and his skin had a sweet sheen of sweat.

“I think we have a visitor, Danny.” A great joy overtook me because I recognized that magic. I’d felt it on the night I married my faery prince.

“He’s here,” Dev said as he pounded himself in, holding nothing back. He knew nothing hurt when that magic was riding me. He could fuck me as hard as he wanted to and I would just beg him for more. The fertility god, Bris, had reintegrated, and Dev was an ascended god once more. It had happened far faster than anyone in Faery could have imagined, but Bris fed off emotion and love, and we were full of both. “He’s weak, but he’s with me again. It feels so good to have him back. I’m going to come. Goddess, I’m going to come hard. I can’t hold it back. Bite her now.”

I felt the first hot wash of Dev’s release and Daniel bit down. I was penetrated by Dev’s cock and Danny’s cock and fangs and I screamed as I came, my sight surrendering to little starbursts in my eyes. I shook and tried to figure out which way to shove myself so I could get more, but any way I went was a new high. I bucked and convulsed with pleasure, and just when I thought I couldn’t handle another second, Daniel shoved his hand between us and pinched my clit and I couldn’t think anymore.

Daniel released the vein in my neck as his hips jerked up, and I felt him lose that control of his as he groaned and fucked me as hard as he could. He bucked up, pulling my hips down even as I felt Dev collapse against my back, shoving me closer to my husband. Daniel swelled inside me and came as his lips found mine. He moaned against my mouth as his hips ground out the last of his semen.

I rested my head on Daniel’s chest and felt Dev softly kissing my shoulders. I should have felt suffocated and sore, but I was jubilant. I felt victorious. Dev rolled off my back and pulled me with him. I landed in the safe cage of his arms.

“Hello, my goddess,” I heard a soft voice say.

“Hello, My Lord,” I replied, looking into eyes that didn’t belong to Dev. These eyes were emerald with not a hint of white. The Irish fertility god looked tired but so pleased to be with us once more. It was difficult to believe I’d been afraid of him the first time we had met. Now I was thrilled to see the being willing to give up his corporeal life to save my vampire. He’d defended me on several occasions and proven himself a great asset for my faery prince. He occupied Dev’s body, strengthening and refining the magic they both shared. I reached up and touched that face I knew so well. “It’s a pleasure to see you again.”

He leaned over and kissed me and I let his languid, addictive magic flow over me. It was weaker than it had been the first time, but I enjoyed the feeling all the same. He deepened the kiss and let his tongue dance lazily around mine while his hands moved across my skin. “Did the vampire hurt you again? I was unable to do anything but stay close to my host until this evening.”

“He didn’t get his hands on her again, thanks to you,” Daniel said and I saw the gratitude on his face. He knew how much this would mean to Dev. Daniel knew how much Dev would enjoy rubbing this in Declan’s face. “We’re on the run, though. You have impeccable timing because Devinshea will need your strength. You know what we’re going into.”

“I do, Daniel, and I’m glad to see you have recovered from the Death Lord’s use of you,” Bris said. “But tonight is not for politics. My host is very insistent on that. He loves you both. He cannot imagine his life without you. His passion for his goddess and his need for Daniel, they are what brought me back. I’m eager to get this war of yours over with. My goddess and I have rituals we owe the Unseelie. As for the Seelie, they can…I believe the term Devinshea is urging me to use is suck it. I’m not sure I understand.”

Daniel laughed and rolled me onto my back. I was comfortable between the two of them. My body was happy and well used. “I’ll explain urban lingo to you later, Bris. How about you lend me some of your mojo? I’m not ready to be done with our goddess or your host yet.”

Bris grinned and I felt a warm pulse from his body. I sighed as it hit me, and I felt myself warming up all over again. “My host and I are in perfect agreement with you, Daniel. She has not passed out yet. We must work harder.”

“Agreed,” Daniel said to his partner with a decadent smile on his face. “But this time we change positions.”

Yep, I would be sleeping in tomorrow.

  Chapter Seventeen

A hand snaked under the covers and I felt my ankles, first one and then the other, trapped by strong hands as the intruder began to pull me out of my soft, warm cocoon. Dev shifted in his sleep and I felt Danny move as I was being pulled away from them. I was halfway down the big bed before I thought to fight against whoever was idiotic enough to try to kidnap me from in between my husbands—who should really be way more defensive about me being taken away from them. They seemed more concerned with not having their sleep disturbed.

I clawed at the sheets as my kidnapper pulled. I was lying on my stomach and tried to kick out, but he had me firmly in his hands. “Danny, help me.”

“No, Z,” Daniel replied, his voice sleepy as he pushed my hands away. “That one is your responsibility.”

Dev groaned, and I felt him sort of half sit up so he could get a look at whoever was invading our room. He glanced at the clock and then rolled over. “Neil, it’s only one. It’s hours and hours until we need to be up. What are you doing?”

Neil didn’t stop pulling me inexorably toward the end of the bed. “Need to talk to Z. You two feel free to sleep away the afternoon.”

“No,” I whined because it wasn’t fair. They’d kept me up forever. “Sleep.”

“No more sleep for you,” Neil vowed. “Lee sent me. He wants to talk to you. Naturally after the events of last night, he knew you would be all naked and stuff, so he sent me, who is not at all disturbed by nakedness. I was looking for
ward to it because it meant the boys would be naked, too.”

Daniel’s blue eyes opened as he realized I was clutching the covers and it was uncovering him. He frowned at me and snagged the sheet from my hand, which sent me a good foot in Neil’s direction.

“Your wolves, Z.” Daniel was immovable on the subject. “We offered to find you more amenable guards but no, you had to have hard-case Lee, who sends Neil in to drag your ass out of bed.”

Dev pulled a pillow over his head to shut out the noise. Neither was going to be any help. It was just like a man. They would defend you to the death before the sex but after they just wanted to sleep.

“Come on, Z,” Neil was saying as my ankles left the warm confines of the bed. Ankles were followed by legs and I gave up the fight. “Lee says the coffee is really good.”

“Coffee?” I asked, though I was sure my voice was muffled because my head was still under the covers.

“I have a mug waiting in the bathroom,” Neil promised. “You can drink it while we scrub you down with really hot water. You need it, Z. This place smells like a brothel.”

I forcefully shoved the covers back and tried to climb out of bed more gracefully than Neil’s plan for my exit. I scrambled over Daniel, not caring that he got an elbow to the stomach.

“Damn it, Z,” he cursed, reaching down to pull the covers back up. “Dev, roll over or you’re going to be cold.”

Dev moved his body, bringing himself closer to Daniel. He rested his head down, just barely touching Daniel’s shoulder. He closed his eyes again, and they looked so gorgeous there together.

I stood up and saw Neil staring at them, his eyes wide.

“They’re just cold,” I replied, walking into the bathroom even as I heard Dev start to snore lightly. Neil was my best friend, but I was holding last night close to my heart for a while.

“I doubt that, Z, but we have other things to talk about. Less fun things. Less superhot dudes getting it on things, and that makes me sad.”

The shower was already on, and Neil had pulled out clothes for me. I opened the door to the shower after a long gulp of some really good coffee. “What’s with all the help?”

Neil shrugged. “That Diana woman asked if I was your Lad in Waiting. I thought it sounded like fun. She explained it was like a body servant.”

“These Brits take the whole queen business very seriously,” I commented as I washed away last night’s overindulgences. “Bris is back.”

“Yeah, we got that. All the houseplants grew like three feet and then there was that lust magic that never seems to stay contained in your little room. I’m getting a T-shirt, Z. Secondhand lust can be hazardous to your health.”

I cringed a little. That magic really could be hazardous. If you weren’t ready for it, there could be some serious morning-after regret the next day. “How pissed off is Lee?”

“We went pub crawling when he realized what was happening,” Neil explained. “He drank a lot of beer and charged it all to Dev. I think he’s okay with it.”

I breathed a sigh of relief. Lee would have been super pissed if he’d found himself in bed with some stranger because he got caught up in Dev’s lust magic. “So if Lee isn’t pissed off, why did he feel the need to drag me out of bed?”

Neil lit up a little. “We thought you might like a chance to ask our Aussie friend some questions before Daniel gets a hold of him and all he can do is cry and pee himself. Zack’s out running errands, so the timing is perfect.”

I took the towel he offered me and smiled brightly. No one ever let me ask questions. “That is a brilliant idea.”

“Lee has noted in the past that you get left completely out of interrogations even though it’s usually your butt on the line,” Neil explained as I started getting dressed. “Who would have guessed he would be a champion of women’s rights?”

“Or he just wants to piss off Daniel and Dev because he got his ass shot again yesterday.”

“He doesn’t like that,” Neil agreed. “Either way, I think it’ll be fun.”

I concurred and proceeded to get ready for my stint as badass interrogator.

  * * * *

I peered into the small room in the basement and wondered exactly what Hugo Wells was into. The basement of the townhouse contained three small rooms, each with steel reinforced doors and small bars over the little windows in the doors. On the wall opposite the rooms was an arsenal. Guns covered the stone siding along with long lengths of silver chains. Off in a corner was a coffin, and I knew what it was reinforced with. Silver was the only way to go when one wanted to keep a vampire under control.

Diana walked down the stairs, carrying the keys to the containment room. The British woman appeared younger and very energetic this morning. I was sure she and Hugo had a raucous good time last night. She had the look of a woman who had been well loved.

“Here we are, Your Highness.” She nodded to Lee and Neil as she moved past them. “It would be safest if I locked the three of you in with the prisoner.”

“Don’t worry, darlin’,” Lee said. “Neil and I can ensure your safety.”

“I wasn’t worried.” I trusted him implicitly. He would never allow me to get hurt.

I shot Diana an anxious look as she moved toward the door. “Was everyone…all right after last night? Did anyone warn you about...?” I left the question hanging out there because I wasn’t sure exactly how to ask if she had known orgies kind of followed my faery prince around.

Her small, satisfied smile told me she didn’t consider it a burden. “The gardener is going to have a fit. The back garden is dreadfully overgrown and the houseplants look like they exploded. Marcus explained what was happening just before he retired with the females of his household. Does that happen every time you..?” It was her turn to be a little evasive.

“No,” I said, not sure how much to share. “It’s not usually that strong, but we were a little emotional last night.”

“Hugo said the magic was amazing.” Diana’s hand went to her throat, which was smooth. I was surprised at that. I assumed vampires only shared their blood with companions. Hugo must truly care for the human. “I couldn’t feel it the way he did, but he looked like he’d gorged himself on companion blood. He looked almost human last night and his skin was so warm.”

“It’s a little like that,” I agreed. Vampires fed off of sexual energy, and Dev’s was unique. He was part Green Man and with Bris inside, he had the powers of an ascended god. It wasn’t the sex energy vampires got on a daily basis.

“The rumors are wrong about the three of you, aren’t they?”

“I don’t spend much time in vampire society.” I knew a little bit concerning the rumors about us but found myself very curious as to what Diana would say. “I don’t know what they say.” The assistant seemed wary about pressing on, but I wouldn’t let her back down now. “Please, I would rather know than wonder.”

She nodded briefly. “The rumor is that the king prefers the company of the faery to that of his companion.”

Lee belly laughed. “They think Donovan’s gay?”

Neil slapped at Lee’s arm. “There’s nothing wrong with being gay.”

“In vampire society, there is something wrong with preferring anyone to your companion,” Diana explained. “It’s why vampires who prefer men to women tend to never take a companion. Companions are rare and treasured. It upsets a vampire when he thinks a companion isn’t being treated well by her master.”

“I don’t think Marini treats his companion very well,” I pointed out, remembering Rose’s sad face.

“No one questions the head of the Council. It’s a sad fact of our lives. He can do what he likes and then turn around and accuse Daniel of the very crimes he commits. It’s obvious to anyone who has spent more than a few moments with you that both the king and the faery prince are enamored of the queen,” Diana said. “They both seemed very much in love.”

“We love each other. That’s all that matters, and
no one else’s opinion should come into it. How much trouble are we going to have once Daniel takes the throne?”

“It won’t be easy,” the more knowledgeable woman admitted. “You’ll have to get to know the influential vampires. You’ll have to do some work to bring them into line. There will always be some who won’t approve.”

I supposed that wasn’t going to change any time soon. I didn’t like to contemplate the fact that Dev and I caused Daniel trouble, but we made up for it. Daniel wouldn’t be anywhere close to happy without us. He wouldn’t have nights like the one we just had if we weren’t around. I had to believe we were worth it.

“And just what are you up to, cara?” I heard from the stairs.

I frowned. “Do you ever sleep?”

Marcus entered, looking immaculately casual in slacks and a royal blue polo. “I slept very well last night. I was well fed and my body was exhausted from all the pleasure. That magic is more intense than the last time I felt it.”

He was referring to the time he, Marini, and Chad had snuck up on us. Chad was an illusionist. He could make you see things that weren’t there. When he wanted, he could make you look right through what was standing in front of you. Dev hadn’t integrated with Bris at the time, and though his magic had fed the vampires, it hadn’t rocked their world the way he could now.

“He’s better at it now, I guess,” I replied.

Marcus shook his head. “Or perhaps the fertility god, Bris, managed to reintegrate with his host last night.” I must have looked surprised because Marcus sighed. “Daniel trusts me, Zoey. He tells me almost everything. He could have warned me just how powerful that lust magic was going to get. I would have brought along more females.”

“How many did you have?” Neil was always curious and never let little things like tact get in his way.
