“Please Ava let’s go, no one can survive here, everything’s gone,” Laurie pleaded, but Ava lay in bed unable to make a decision; a decision that the fate of the world, and ultimately the human race would depend on.

  CHAPTER THIRTY–SIX

Around the world, large carriers transporting knights from Russia and Africa were arriving everywhere that the presence of humans was known to be; with their sole purpose being the extinction and eradication of all humans. After this genocide, the world would belong to the betasapiens, and Frank Brady would be the ruler of earth and those that dwelled on it.

As the knights landed in places inhabited by humans, they firstly hunted and killed the vulnerable and weak. After that, they moved onto clans such as outlaws, vigilantes, and religious folks and mercilessly killed them as well, for although there was a good amount of resistance from those groups the sheer number of knights, as well as their efficient and lethal method of combat, was too much for the humans.

In some places, the humans with the help of some superhumans fought back valiantly, but in the end, many were killed and those that barely escaped the claws of the knights headed to the final human and superhuman stronghold of the world – Alaska.

They arrived in droves as the knights purposely did not attack Alaska due to the significant presence of superhumans in that part of the earth; for although the betasapiens did not fear the superhumans, they knew that they were a far more formidable and superior foe than regular humans.

As the worldwide onslaught of humans continued, Frank Brady and the board of the betasapiens watched from the comfort and safety of their homeland far away from the ruthless blitz which they sanctioned.

As the reports of casualties were conveyed back to them, they knew it was only a matter of time before the entire world would be theirs.

For those in Alaska it was apparent that once the massacres around the world were complete, they would be the ones in the crosshairs of their ruthless and cold–blooded enemy. Then as they prepared for the inevitable, they readied their weapons and defenses and waited for the inescapable attack that would arrive at any time.

Back inside the Invisible Dome, Milo and his band of rogue knights waited for their chance to help, while Roma, who was among the inner circle of knights headed by Achilles also waited for her opportunity to destroy Frank and the betasapiens. Back in their apartment, Bridget sat in utter distress about her mother’s situation and also knowing that the man she married was in the midst of carrying out an attack to rid the world of humans.

She then wondered if she could have prevented any of it, but she knew fully well of Frank’s hatred for the humans and knew that there was no way on earth she would ever be able to convince him to call off the attack. Even if she did manage to do that, the damage inflicted was already done, and the human race was in the midst of an epic and titanic collapse.

Back in the control room, Frank said, “The end is near Achilles, I can feel it.”

“Yes my master, I can feel it as well,” Achilles replied, as they both watched the humans perish and the world be destroyed – country by country, city by city and human by human.

  CHAPTER THIRTY–SEVEN

As everyone prepared for their trek to Alaska on board the submarine, Ava was still having doubts about leaving Las Vegas. After all, how could she leave without her father and brother? She was now at a crossroad and wasn’t sure which way to go.

“You can’t stay here Ava, look around, everything is gone,” Max said.

“This is our only hope for survival Ava, please come with us,” Krishna also implored to her.

“They’re probably out there looking for me, how am I supposed to leave them?” she said.

“They could be dead,” Max said, hoping to make Ava realize the reality of the situation. “You have special abilities Ava, you can help us,” he continued saying.

“And what about my brother and father, who will help them? I’m not leaving without them,” Ava shouted.

“We’ll wait a few hours Ava,” Max told her.

“You don’t have to,” Ava replied.

“Max, she’s right, we can’t wait for her,” Roy said to him.

“Please dad, we have to, we just can’t leave her here,” Max told his father in hopes of changing his mind.

“Okay fine, we’ll wait three hours but not a second more,” Roy said to the delight of Max.

As the time passed and the group readied themselves to leave on the submarine, Ava gazed towards the distance in hopes of seeing Jonah and her father.

“What are you going to do if they don’t show up?” Laurie asked.

“I have no choice Laurie, I’ll stay here and wait for them, they’re all I have,” Ava replied back to her.

“You have us,” Krishna told her.

“Thanks Krishna,” Ava said as she hugged him.

After a couple of hours, Roy approached Ava, “We roll out in one hour Ava, that’s the best I can do, everyone is ready to leave, and we can’t risk another attack,” he told her.

“Thanks,” Ava said as she turned around and looked towards the horizon, and she squinted her eyes and watched towards the distance at what she thought was a massive cloud moving in. As she looked closer, she realized this was not a storm cloud but rather a cloud of knights approaching for a second wave of attacks on Las Vegas.

“They’re coming,” she shouted, and at the same time Max also saw the knights approaching, and without hesitation he sounded the alarm.

“To the submarine,” Roy shouted, and everyone rushed towards it except for Ava, Krishna, and Laurie.

“Please Ava, come with us,” Max pleaded.

  “I can’t,” she replied.

“Then I’m staying with you,” Max told her.

“You can’t Max, your family needs you,” Ava said to him.

Then all of a sudden, in the distance they saw three airmobiles heading their way, everyone ran towards the submarine in panic, unsure of who was heading towards them in the airmobiles. Ava, Krishna, and Laurie looked in the direction of the incoming airmobiles, their eyes glued to them in hopes of seeing Jonah and Dean.

“Wait, they’re humans,” Roy said as he peered into the distance through his binoculars.

Ava ran to him and grabbed the binoculars from his hand; she then looked towards the incoming airmobiles with high hopes that Dean and Jonah were in them. She looked at the first airmobile and there was no sign of either of them, she then looked at the second airmobile, and again there was no sign of them.

Finally, she focused in on the third and final airmobile as her hopes of seeing her beloved father and brother were slowly fading. This one had to be it she thought, but as she looked at the driver, it was neither Dean nor Jonah, and her thoughts of what little hope she had left quickly evaporated like water on dry, parched land.

She was devastated, not only because neither Dean nor Jonah were anywhere to be seen, but also because of the second wave of knights that were approaching in the distance. She, Krishna, and Laurie then solemnly made their way to the submarine as the airmobiles arrived, “I’m sorry Ava,” Krishna told her as Laurie held her hand in a show of support and love.

Meanwhile, Max and some of the others then ran out towards the airmobiles that had now come to a stop. As the occupants from the newly arrived airmobiles jumped out they were told to quickly head to the submarine, and as they ran, one of the riders pointed to the back of his airmobile saying, “Please help him, he’s passed out,” to Max.

Max and the rider then took the injured man out of the airmobile and began carrying him towards the submarine, “Is he injured badly?” Max asked.

“No, he’ll be okay, he’s just passed out,” the rider replied.

“What happened to him?” Max asked.

“He saved us, he’s a superhuman, his name is Jonah,” the rider named Octavius said as they made their way to the submarine.

Max then shouted to Ava as she was about to enter the submari
ne, and as she looked back, she couldn’t believe her eyes. She then quickly ran back towards Jonah who was being carried to the submarine by Max and Octavius, and she was very happy to be reunited with her brother.

“Jonah it’s me Ava,” she said to him, and he then opened his eyes ever so slightly, and he was glad to see that Ava was safe and well.

“I thought you were gone, what happened? Where did you go?” Ava asked him.

“I’m sorry Ava, I didn’t mean to leave you, but there were too many of them,” Jonah replied.

“How did you get away?” she asked.

“You wouldn’t believe it Ava; you wouldn’t believe it,” he slurred as he closed his eyes and fell unconscious again.

  CHAPTER THIRTY–EIGHT

Back in the governor’s apartment, Roma arrived to Bridget’s delight.

“I’m so glad to see you,” Bridget said as she hugged her.

“I’m glad to see you as well my love,” she replied.

“Where’s my mother, is she okay?” Bridget asked.

“She’s outside of the Invisible Dome Bridget, it was the only choice that Milo had,” Roma hesitantly told her.

“What, are you crazy? She’ll die out there,” Bridget exclaimed.

“We don’t know if she’ll die out there, but I can assure you that she will most definitely die within the dome Bridget,” Roma said.

“The war has started Roma, the knights will destroy everyone out there, including my mother,” Bridget said.

“But now at least the humans have a chance to prepare for the attack and fight back,” Roma replied.

“We’ve given the humans a chance to survive this attack Bridget, after everything we’ve done to these people it’s the least that we could do,” she continued.

“But at my mother’s expense,” Bridget lashed out.

“I would never do anything to harm you Bridget, I love you with everything in me, and I will do everything in my power to reunite you both,” Roma replied.

“I know you will Roma, but what do we do now?” Bridget asked.

“We must wait Bridget, we must wait for Milo, and we’ll attack when the time is right,” Roma replied.

“Look at what he’s done Roma, he’s creating fear among us by telling us that the humans have taken my mother,” Bridget said.

As panic ensued inside the Invisible Dome, some betasapiens stayed in their homes while others ventured outside with the help of the white knights to find the culprits responsible for kidnapping one of their own. As the white knights searched for Chandra, they did so with the utmost precision, and they carefully and thoroughly went to each living quarters looking for any sign of her and her human captors.

They assimilated into groups and also began searching through buildings and public areas such as shopping centers and recreation facilities. Many groups of knights also searched in the underground tunnels; while others patrolled the air with dozens of airmobiles looking for suspects who in reality never existed.

Some of the betasapien public who up until this event never experienced such a situation were in absolute terror given the panic and stress they were facing. For the white knights who knew the truth of the situation and the fact that Chandra was not kidnapped; it was a circumstance that did not make sense to them, but given their robotic nature they were unable to express their true feelings and had to oblige to the orders of the betasapien leaders.

This was all a part of Frank’s plan to prove to the betasapien public that his aggressive and hateful behavior towards the humans was warranted. He wanted the betasapien public to believe that he sought to protect them while in fact, his real intentions were of a selfish nature.

“We can’t let this madness continue Roma, we have to tell everyone about his lies,” Bridget said.

“No one will believe us Bridget, we’ll be killed if we let them know we were behind letting your mother out of the Invisible Dome,” Roma replied. “Plus, who would believe us over Frank; he has them fully convinced that he is doing what is right for them and for the future generations of betasapiens,” Roma continued.

As they looked out of the window, they hoped that their chance would come where they could help destroy the evil betasapien empire they themselves had a hand in creating. For by doing that; Bridget, Roma, Milo and the rogue white knights of Australia would show the betasapien leaders that no amount of money, power, or manipulation could save them from the fate that awaited them.

  CHAPTER THIRTY–NINE

As the submarine went into the water Ava stayed beside Jonah, their trek to Alaska was now beginning, and there was a feeling of apprehension on board the vessel. Roy did his best to bring ease to everyone while Max was in constant thought of Ava. After a few hours had passed, Ava still stayed at Jonah’s side until he finally awoke, and his headache was gone. He then looked around the room trying to figure out where he was.

  “Where am I?” he asked.

“We’re on a submarine headed to Alaska,” Ava replied.

“Is dad with us?” Jonah asked.

  “No,” Ava sadly replied.

“What? We can’t leave him out there Ava, he’s probably headed to Las Vegas to look for us,” Jonah said.

“There’s no more Las Vegas Jonah, an army of knights were headed there, and I doubt anything or anyone would have survived,” Ava said.

“What are we going to do in Alaska?” Jonah asked.

“I don’t know, but it’s our best chance for survival,” Ava replied.

“Do you think dad will go there?” Jonah asked.

“I hope so, I certainly hope so,” Ava replied. “But I’m glad you’re here with me Jonah,” she continued saying.

  “Me too,” he replied.

“How did you get away?” she asked, and Jonah then began explaining the unlikely set of events that led to his escape from the hands of certain death.

It all started when Jonah and Ava were in their airmobile outside of the abandoned building. Jonah heard someone talking not too far from the airmobile where he and Ava were sleeping, and he peered out of the window but saw nothing, then suddenly he saw two people running into the building, and as they went out of sight he lay back down.

After a few minutes he again heard some noises coming from that direction, and he didn’t make much of it, but then he heard footsteps and they were getting closer and closer, and as he peeped out of the window he saw seven or eight people coming towards their airmobile.

“Ava wake up!” he yelled but she was fast asleep, he then shook her but she wouldn’t wake up.

The group of hooligans then surrounded the airmobile, “Get out of the airmobile,” one of them shouted.

“You have ten seconds or we’re coming to get you,” said another.

Meanwhile, a male voice began the countdown, “Ten, nine, eight,” and Jonah then hit Ava once more trying desperately to wake her up but still, she would not wake up. “Three, two, one,” the countdown ended and the group was now right beside the airmobile.

Jonah now had to make a choice and his decision showed the love he had for Ava. Jonah focused on her, and then suddenly she disappeared. Jonah then shouted, “Okay I’m coming out,” and he slowly stepped out of the airmobile with his hands up.

“Is anyone else in there?” one of the hooligans asked.

“No, it’s just me,” Jonah replied.

As Jonah stepped out of the airmobile the hooligans grabbed and shackled him and two of them went inside the airmobile to see if anyone else was in there.

“I swear there were two of them, I saw them yesterday, with my own eyes,” one of them stated.

“It’s just me, there was someone else with me yesterday, but she left to go to Denver a few hours ago,” Jonah said to the group of thugs, trying his best to keep Ava safe and away from their evil grasp.

The group then took Jonah back towards the building, at first he had thoughts of fighting back but he feared doing that as Ava was still under his superhuman control and
he needed to keep his focus on her, and in addition to that he was weak and barely able to stand upright.

As they made their way into the building Jonah’s head was in pain from using his abilities, and he felt that Ava was now safe and he released her from his superhuman grip.

“We’re ready to go people, load him up; he’s exactly what they’re looking for,” said one of the ruffians.

Jonah, who was barely able to walk, was then put into the cargo area of an airmobile along with fifteen other boys, “Where are they taking us?” one of the boys asked.

“They’re taking us to Kansas City,” another boy answered.

The airmobile then sped off as Jonah lay on the ground thinking of Ava and hoping that she was safe. He hoped that his efforts to sacrifice his life in order to keep her safe was not in vain, and little did Jonah know that within a few hours Ava would be captured by a group of people affiliated with the thugs who kidnapped him.

“Hey are you okay?” one of the boys asked Jonah but there was no reply from him.

“Is he okay?” another boy asked.

  “I’m not sure,” another replied.

“Just let him be,” a boy named Octavius said, “We’re all done for anyways.”

Then after what seemed like days, Jonah and his fellow captives finally arrived in Kansas City, and as the door to the cargo area was opened heavily armed men unshackled them and ordered them outside. Everyone exited except Jonah, who was still lying on the floor; and his mind was on Ava and his father.

“Hey you, get up now,” shouted one of the captors.

But Jonah didn’t budge an inch; and he lay on the cold floor as if no one around him existed. His head was still in pain from using his superhuman abilities to make Ava disappear, and it took more out of him than he thought it would.

Suddenly two of the men began pulling him by the legs; Jonah kicked frantically, but one of the men pointed a laser at him and shouted, “Stop now or you’re a dead man.”
