Sidney couldn’t believe what her sister just said to her, “what did you say? Sidney asked, thinking she couldn’t have said what she thought.” I said! There are reasons things are put in our past… They are not made to make it to our futures. What? Heard if before haven’t you?” Sammy said. “Yes I have.” Sidney said back to her. That was the exact quote Ramsey had said to her a while back. Sidney immediately apologized to her sister for being mean. “I am sorry Sammy. I am just a mess right now I will get this figured out and fast because I am starting to lose my mind, Thanks for the chat sis, I will talk to you later, See you later alligator,” Sidney said to Sammy.
“In a while, Crocodile.” Sammy replied before both women hung up.
Sidney wanted to spend the rest of the weekend alone. She needed time to think and unpack, it was getting a little bit ridiculous the amount of boxes that still plagued her apartment. Sidney got changed into a pair of sweats, and a T-shirt. She turned on some music and began unpacking the rest of her boxes. Before she knew it, a few hours of unpacking, dancing, break, and the Chinese takeout she ordered, her house was finally unpacked. Sidney finally was settled into her new place. Her wall clock read 10:15 pm and she had work the next day, she had spent all day not only unpacking, but thinking about what she wanted to do about the love triangle she was tangled in.
That night, Sidney tossed and turned in bed. She is still unsure if the decision she made was the right thing. Before she knew it, she was back in the woods again at the fork, in the road where both Ramsey and John stood. It seemed like she stood there for hours. On the right, there was Ramsey’s. Someone she had been interested in getting to know and possibly starting a relationship with, but instead fantasized about because she felt he was out of her league. Then on the left was John, someone she was still in love with. She knew him and he also knew her. He is someone she could already see in her life. Two gorgeous men, one decision, at that moment one of the men held his hand out and the other just sat there smiling not moving as if he was stuck in time, Sidney smiled, grabbed the man’s hand and together, hand in hand the two walked down the path far into the distance.
The next morning, Sidney had woken up feeling very well rested and very confident in her decision, she called Payge on the way to work to let her know the good news. Payge told her to do what her heart tells her and not her hormones, no matter what decision she made that it wouldn’t change their relationship at all. That made Sidney happy that her best friend was supportive of her decision. Sidney finally got to work, and everyone in the office could see something was different about Sidney. She was smiling a lot and more alert than usual.
The rest of the week seemed to go the same way. Even after Mr. Brodie called a meeting Wednesday to announce that the new General Manager of the Lewistown area store was going to be Ramsey Kelly. Sidney wasn’t saddened by this news. Excited that Ramsey had this chance to spread his wings and broaden his career horizon. Friday was Ramsey’s last day, so they were throwing him a goodbye party at the office. Ramsey seemed happy, and that’s all Sidney had wanted for him, After Sidney’s talk with John this week, he also seemed happy and it looked like everyone around her was happy, which is all she ever wanted for everyone in this crazy situation. A little understanding and happiness always goes a long way.
“I am glad I made this decision, and I have to say I am sure I won’t regret it.” Said Sidney.
“I promise you won’t sweetie, things might get rough, but we will always find a way to make it work.” He said.
“I know we will, and I can’t wait to see how this journey will turn out.” She said. He then cupped her face in his hands and brought her in for a long sensual kiss. “So, why don’t we go back to the bedroom,” he said. Sidney smiled as he swept her off her feet and headed to her room. She couldn’t believe how happy she was with her decision and even though it may come with resistance from some, it was her decision to make, and she did.
“Ready to make your fantasies come true?” he asked.
Sidney smiled, “Yes... Yes, I am.”
“I love you, Sid” said Ramsey.
“I love you too, Ramsey.” as they went off into the bedroom, then into theirhappily ever after.
