We’d taken a long ride around Lake Pontchartrain to the Fontainebleau State Park. It was so peaceful, and it was neat to see the houses on stilts that sat out on the water. The water wasn’t rough that day, and a few people were braving it, including us. I often wondered how close the storm tides came to the houses and possibly sweeping them away.
My brother and I were regularly mistaken for twins. He’d grown up with the same head of curls as me. I respected that he was the one that taught me to ride. My Momma had her hands full with us both being rebels.
I got back home to find Callen with a wide grin on his face.
“Did you see how that punk, Storm, tried to knock me off my bike?” I felt the heat threatening to take over my face.
Callen nudged me with his elbow. “Sis, you need to calm down. You’re the one that likes to get people started. I know for a fact that you challenged him back. You can’t help yourself. You just have to admit he got the better of you. Happens to the best of us.” His brown eyes glittered with mischief at my agitation.
“That’s not it. He was a bastard to me. Those guys came straight between us down Bourbon Street. He’s cocky,” I protested.
Callen tilted his head a little. “Ah, and you’re not?”
I pushed him, and he stumbled slightly. “I’m your sister. You are supposed to be on my side. I don’t want you to become a prick like them.”
“I’m not Daryl. I know what this is about. You can’t blame everyone in that group for Slick. That guy was always bad news, and I tried to warn you.”
I considered what he said with stubbornness—part of my rebel streak. “I messed up. I know. I’m still kicking myself for going down there like that. Daryl went for everybody, and I do mean everybody,” I said sadly.
Callen hugged me to him. “You gotta let it go. There’s going to be a better dude for you. You never know, could be that Storm guy.” He winked.
He went too far with that, and my brother knew me. I wasn’t going to let him get away with that. He laughed as I gave chase.
I want nothing to do with Storm. He and I will never happen.

Thank you in advance.
For the curious, the author’s random thoughts on the various series are listed below.
Boys In Blue - San Francisco Series
These books were my first attempt at publishing after a friend suggested that I should publish the first two books of the series that I had emailed her when she asked what I was currently writing since she knows that I am always working on something. Little did I know that it would cause me to get into the business of publishing books at such a level to which they have grown.
After the first two books I was able to finish four more pretty quickly since they are short reads.
Chase, The Series - San Francisco
I decided to venture into the suspense/thriller sub-genre of romance since I love reading those types of books as well, so I published four books in that series when I decided to change over to longer books.
SAINTS & S.O.B.s - New Orleans Chapter Series
These books are longer than in my first two series, but like the Chase Series they are in the suspense/thriller sub-genre. But unlike the first two series this one takes place on motorcycles, which I love riding.
It is about a renegade MC group without the titles of president, vice-president, etc.
I plan on continuing this series in various locations, so if you have a suggestion for a location where you would like to see these motorcycle bad-boys riding, just join my Facebook Group and let me know at www.facebook.com/groups/MaryPotterRomance
Devil’s Mayhem
This series is a bit more of a grittier Motorcycle Club series that is also in the suspense/thriller sub-genre.
It is about a typical MC group with a president and other positions.
I’m still working on nicknames for the characters of the up-coming books, so if you have a suggestion for names of these bad boys just join my Facebook group and let me know at www.facebook.com/groups/MaryPotterRomance
I hope you get a chance to read each and every one of my books, and I would love to know what you think of them. You can always reach me at [email protected]
