Learning Curve Page 12

“I love you,” Slade said, and kissed each of his mates in turn. “This is for you to open later,” he said, gesturing to the large trolley he had dragged from the delivery bay up to the food court floor.

“We can’t wait,” Oliver said excitedly, bouncing in place.

Slade stared at both of them, suspicious. “You know, don’t you?” he asked resignedly, sending an evil glare at Alfie, Fly, and Kaden, who grinned back impishly. “I don’t know why I even bothered to try to keep it a secret.”

“We have a surprise for you later, as well,” Shark whispered, winking salaciously and licking his lips. “We didn’t want you to feel left out.”

Slade, probably the only one in town who didn’t know about their surprise, smiled down at them both. “Shall we do this?” he said, laughing.

“Let’s do it,” they replied in unison, dragging him into the restaurant, with everyone crowding in around them.

He got down on one knee. “Will you marry me, Oliver, Shark?” he asked solemnly, presenting the twin engagement rings.

They nodded. “Well, duh, of course we will,” Shark retorted, holding out his ring finger as Oliver mimicked him. Slade did the honors, securing a band on each finger, and then grunted with surprise when they knelt, too, and asked the question of him.

“Well, duh, of course I will,” he said, chuckling, and was soon the proud owner of a sparkling band of platinum, embedded with three diamonds.

“Now for the shotgun wedding,” John drawled, laughing when all three grooms flipped him off.

“Pussy,” Slade told him, smirking when Cameron cuffed his husband upside the head, scolding him.

It felt as though everyone in town had shown up, including a mass of mini critters, chattering like crows. Slade shook his head. Of course.

The ceremony was fairly swift, the rings exchanged… Oliver and Shark had gotten him a band, as well, made in a similar design to the engagement rings. Within minutes, they were kissing enthusiastically, confetti raining down, and the large crowd cheering jubilantly.

“We didn’t just follow you to tease you,” Kaden said. “We arranged a little party, as well. In the food court. Everyone contributed.”

Ronan stepped forward, as everyone filed out to make their way to the party. “Thank you for your forgiveness,” he said quietly. “Stan, Eddy, and I never really had a proper family life,” he added as his mates stood silently beside him, nodding. “We love living in Sage. Nobody shuns us for our lifestyle, and despite what’s happened, nobody blames us for anything. We’re very grateful.”

“Is this a good-bye speech?” Shark asked, studying the alpha wolf carefully.

“No,” Eddy interjected, wrapping an arm around Ronan’s waist. “It’s a statement of loyalty. We’ve always been nomads, never settling for long in one place. We aim to make this our home, and we’re going to rebuild the hotel. We’re moving out to the ranch for a bit, though. It’s more open there, and we can run. I think all of us need to find some peace, away from all these people.”

“We’ve arranged for a construction crew, who start work on the new hotel next week. Cooper said he’ll supervise for us, since he’s the architect, redesigning the place,” Stan added. “We’re heading into the mountains for living off the land. We’ll be back in a while.”

“You’re hunting,” Slade said, watching their expressions carefully. “This isn’t a joy ride, is it? You’re tracking down Flashpoint.”

Ronan gave him a grim smile, shaking his hand firmly. “We’re heading into the mountains,” he repeated. “If we come across any Flashpoint affiliates, and they happen to attack us…that’ll be their bad luck.”

“Be careful,” Oliver whispered, hugging the wolves in turn. “Those guys have guns, and technology.”

Ronan grinned maliciously. “We have years of military training,” he said, hugging his friends. “We aren’t naïve, and we aren’t going unarmed.”

“Be careful,” Oliver said again. “I don’t want to lose you. You’re our friend.”

Ronan blinked, looking tearful. “You’re going to make me bawl like a baby again, aren’t you?”

Shark smirked. “Tough guys are allowed to cry,” he said, kissing Ronan’s cheek. “Just don’t lose yourself,” he added seriously. “Please.”

Ronan nodded slowly. “I won’t.” Then he turned and left with his mates.

“Will he be okay?” Oliver asked anxiously.

“He’s got to do this, I think,” Slade replied, kissing his husband. “He’s the alpha, and he feels as though he needs to regain control.”

“I’m worried,” Shark said. “Ronan is still grieving.”

“I know, darlin’” Slade retorted. “But I also know that he’s feeling stifled here.”

“He’s not completely alone,” Pace said, coming into the restaurant. “He asked how he could help take down Flashpoint. He’s desperate to assist. We have an idea of their MO now, and the wolf shifters have taken native shifter species with them. Lynx, wolves, mountain lion. They’re tracking down possible hideouts, and we’ve given them extra tools to help them.”

“This sounds dangerous,” Slade replied. “They’re going to blend in with the true bloods, aren’t they?”

“Yeah,” Pace said, nodding. “It could be our best weapon. Flashpoint have their weapons, we have ours. We know Flashpoint have other hideouts, scattered around neighboring states. It’s time we flushed them out of hiding, took the fight right to their door, instead of waiting for them to strike us all the time.”

The grooms exchanged worried glances, then began righting the chairs and tables, ready for the morning. Despite just being married, they weren’t taking time off just yet for a honeymoon. Pace helped them, and they were soon ready to join the party.

  * * * *

Oliver tensed, closing his eyes as he sank down onto Slade’s hard, rampant cock. His husband of six hours groaned, his body etched with the effort to keep still. Sitting atop the big shifter gave Oliver a bird’s-eye view of mountains of male loveliness, sloping pecs, ripped abs—a body to die for. He gritted his teeth as his chute stretched wide to accommodate his lover’s cock. Everything about Slade was large…and Oliver certainly was loving that right now.

Shark nipped at his shoulder, fisting his cock as Oliver settled into position, and then tugged Oliver’s face around for a hot smooch. They kissed hungrily, languidly, lovingly. Oliver shivered with relief as he bottomed out, resting a moment to let his body adjust to being impaled, moaning against Shark’s voracious mouth.

“Are you ready, sweetie?” Shark asked huskily, sucking on Oliver’s lower lip, nipping and then sucking again.

“Lock and load, babe,” Oliver retorted, giggling when his lover and second husband pinched his nipple in retaliation for the snark. The twin rings on Shark’s finger glinted in the light, and his heart clenched with love. “I love you,” he whispered. “That was the best night. We’re actually married.”

“I love you, too,” Shark replied, his touch gentling as he kissed Oliver with a tenderness that shattered Oliver’s resolve to remain dry-eyed. Tears trickled down his face, and he laughed brokenly when both husbands peppered tiny kisses all over his cheeks, lapping up the emotional overload.

“I love you, three,” Slade teased, lifting up on his elbows as he joined the kiss, his tongue sliding wetly along the other two. They all moaned in delight, the kiss deepening, the heat scorching as they played. “I’m eternally glad that Drew, Cullen, and Noah agreed to run the restaurant today. I really didn’t feel like leaving this bed for another few hours.”

“Hmmm,” Shark murmured, swirling his tongue along Slade’s stubbly jaw. “Neither did I. After last night’s marathon, I was planning on sleeping in…until our sex fiend here suggested double-fucking him.”

Oliver laughed, feeling smug. “I want you to both claim me at the same time,” he said, not at all repentant or ashamed at being so bold. “If I like it, I think we could make it a morning rit
ual. You know, like brushing teeth, coffee…whatever.”

“You want to be double-fucked every morning?” Slade asked, shunting his hips a little, nearly unseating Oliver from his perch.

“Morning, noon, evening, middle of the night,” Oliver drawled, clutching at Slade’s shoulders before he fell off. “I’m not fussy, really.”

Shark laughed, pushing Oliver down. Slade lay back, pulling Oliver with him, until Oliver was sprawled along Slade’s big body, putting him in the perfect position for Shark to slide into place.

“Sweetie, I don’t think either of us have a problem with that. This cute little ass of yours is addictive,” Shark said.

Oliver glanced back, biting back a moan as he watched Shark grip his cock, then push one finger slowly against the seam of Oliver’s ass, stretching him even wider before inserting his lube slicked cock. Oliver panted, gritting his teeth at the burn, the pinch of discomfort as his chute protested at this new invasion.

“Stay still, darlin’ and try to relax,” Slade soothed, kissing Oliver with a finesse that had Oliver nearly sobbing. “You’re so gorgeous, both of you. I’m blessed to have you as my mates.”

“Oh, God, that stings,” Oliver cried, gritting his teeth.

Slade stroked his back and then began massaging his butt gently. “If it’s too much, we can stop.”

“Don’t say that,” Shark replied, his voice hoarse. “I’m about to reach the mother lode here.”

They all chuckled. “It’s hurting less,” Oliver whimpered, his body slick with sweat, and rested his forehead against Slade’s. “Oh, God, that feels so good,” he moaned, arching his back as Shark slid home.

“Took the words right out of my mouth,” Shark responded breathlessly, resting his head on Oliver’s shoulder, his body blanketing Oliver’s back. “I can’t describe how this feels, but ‘good’ isn’t a bad start.”

“Exquisite,” Slade grunted, his eyes narrowed with bliss. Oliver whined helplessly when the big guy latched onto his neck, his fangs sinking into Oliver’s flesh easily. “Mine,” Slade declared, lapping at the rivulets of blood that began to flow.

Shark, shuddering in reaction, mirrored Slade’s move and then began to move in and out of Oliver’s succulent, shivering chute. Slowly, carefully, he made love to his mate, the bond between the three strengthening with every stroke.

Oliver closed his eyes, feeling the love pouring from him to them, not wanting this moment to end. His heart thundered beneath his chest, and his ass ached like fuck, but the pleasure was so fabulous, gloriously so. He was so glad he and Shark had gathered up their courage and taken the plunge to trust Slade, trusting their instincts about the man. They’d all spent years searching for a forever home. Now they’d found it, alongside a love that would last an eternity.

Whatever happened in the future, whatever challenges, they’d face them together. It had been a learning curve for them all. Slade, needing to rein in his aggressive side, and deciding to leave that side of himself at the bedroom door. They knew of his kink, had heard him talk about it, and their respect for him had risen tenfold once he announced that he would never, ever, treat them like that. They trusted him not to hurt them, but his determination to never bring it into their home had made them love just a whole lot more.

“What flavor would you like?” Oliver asked suddenly, before he lost his mind completely.

“Huh?” His husbands were clueless, their focus on passion and nothing else.

“Flavor? What flavor of chocolate sauce would you like, Slade? When we’re done double-fucking, I’d like to take you up on your offer. I love mint. Slathered all over your body, with lashings of whipped cream.” Oliver giggled breathlessly when both men gave hoarse chuckles of approval.

“Baby, I’ll love whatever flavor you choose,” Slade replied, ramping up the tempo as he began to move in sync with Shark, fucking up into Oliver as Shark fucked forward and back. “I’m not sure, after this, that we’ll be able to move for a while.”

Oliver cried out, bucking between them, as he came apart, coming hard, his mind splintering as his senses shattered into a million shards of blissful release. He felt the warm spurt of twin loads of hot cum, deep in his ass, and slumped forward, joined ass and fang, then sinking his teeth into Slade’s strong neck, claiming his lover and husband once more.

He felt the ripple of reaction, and Slade roared out his pleasure, loud and clear, before he collapsed in a sweaty, sated heap, sandwiched between two men he loved more than anything.

“I love you, two,” he sighed and heard twin responses, falling headlong into slumber. Whatever happened, whoever tried to destroy what Sage was building, they’d prevail. Love and loyalty, kindness, and compassion would win.

The spirit of Sage would never die.
