Until Then Page 9

Good God, that chest is the best I’ve ever seen.

Lifting my shirt at the hem, I toss it to the floor. He grabs my hair and brings my lips to his as he walks us toward the bed, kissing from my mouth down my neck. Unhooking my bra, he lets it fall to the floor. My breasts are yearning for the attention, as he cups them with his large hands. As the backs of my knees hit the bed, I fall backwards, my breasts bouncing with the impact.

Kole grabs the waist of my leggings and slides them down my thighs. I can see the hunger in his eyes; the way he’s looking at me has me wanting him even more. As he grips my hips, I spread my legs. My pussy is an eager little bitch; she’s begging for him to touch her, and I’ve never been so wet. So ready.

“Please,” I moan. “I need you.” In response, his mouth latches onto my clit; he’s teasing me, and I’m going to combust. He dips a finger in my pussy, and I swear I see stars I come so hard.

“That’s it, baby. Show me how bad you want me,” he says as my hips buck toward his face. My clit is on fire.

“I need you. I need your cock, Kole. I need it inside me so bad.” I gasp as his finger goes deeper. “God, yes!” I scream as another orgasm rocks through my body. .

“I’m going to fuck you hard, baby. Is that what you want?”

“Mmm, yes. Please. I need it hard,” I say as my legs lazily spread further apart. He settles between them, his cock seeping with pre-cum. I want to taste him so badly, but right now I need him inside me.

In one thrust, he’s filling me. “Yes! I could fuck your sweet pussy all night,” he grunts as he thrusts in and out. My walls clench around his thickness. “I love how you milk my cock. The first time I fucked you, I knew it wasn’t a one-time thing. This. Pussy. Is. Mine.”

“Yes! Yes, it is,” I pant. “Harder. I need it harder, Harris.”

“You want it harder?” he asks, as he lifts my legs so high over his shoulder I’m practically off the bed.

“Yes!” I moan as I feel him deeper inside me. “Right there!” I scream. His thrust picks up speed, and my greedy pussy is begging for him to go deeper.

“Ah!” Kole grunts as he works in and out of me. I pull his face to mine so I can kiss him; I love the way his lips taste on mine. “So good… So fucking good,” he says, as I feel his release inside me.

Pulling out and flopping on the bed beside me, he tells me, “Babe, we have to remember to get a different kind of chips.”

I chuckle. “Yeah, I was wondering if you could taste that.”

“Shower?” he asks, propping up next to me.

“Yes, but I don’t think I can move,” I say, tossing my arm over his.

“Come on, I’ll carry you.” He lifts me into his arms like I’m nothing but a feather, heading toward the bathroom. “You’re so beautiful. I love the way your eyes look when you come.” He kisses me gently before setting me on the counter. “Let me start the water.” I notice that his bathroom is quite large for the size of the apartment.

“You’re spoiling me, you know that?” I tease as my feet move back and forth. “A girl could get used to this,” I tease.

“Anything for you. And I mean that.” He picks me up and sets me in the shower. “You should have dinner at my parents’ with us this weekend. Kathy and Lopez will be there. She seems to really like you.”

“Okay,” I agree, as the hot water hits my back. “I like her too.” And I do, I am really glad that I have met all of them.

I wake with Roe still sleeping peacefully next to me. I don’t have what she requested for breakfast; I need to run to the market. I shower quickly and quietly. That’s the only thing about this small place—you can hear anything and everything.

I don’t want to wake my girl. After all, we were up pretty late.

Sliding on some sweats and a T-shirt, I grab a pen and write a note, letting Roe know that I’ll be back shortly. I slip it on the pillow next to her then take Brutus out so he can do his business. After giving him his breakfast, I toss a few treats in his dish. “Let Roe sleep,” I say, patting his head. It’s early, and I need coffee. I sprint out to my truck, start it, and head down the road.

Pulling into the parking lot of Tim Horton’s, I go through the drive-thru and grab a cup of liquid fuel then make my way over to the market. That’s one thing I love about where I live and work—they’re both close to everywhere I go.

When I had my house, it was about an hour from everything. Although we loved the country feel, I missed the city life—being able to get coffee in the mornings, or grabbing a burger in the afternoon. And, when I decided to sell, I knew exactly where I wanted to live.

Don’t get me wrong; I loved my life with my wife, and the home we shared, but the memories were haunting me daily. Everywhere I turned in the house, I saw her face, heard her laugh, and felt her touch. I still miss her—God, do I miss her—but I just couldn’t deal with all the memories.

I’m so glad I told Roe how I feel, and a little about Sherrie. I knew I wanted to be the one to tell her; I couldn’t have her finding out from my sister or one of the guys. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be, though. I feel so good about moving forward with Roe now.

I make my way through the store, grabbing the items I’ll need to cook the requested breakfast. Who knew they had so many choices for bacon? I haven’t been grocery shopping in months—hell, maybe years. I grab three different packs: thick, pepper, and maple. I head toward the bread and decide on the thick Texas toast. It’s what my mom uses when she makes French toast.

Placing the bread in my cart, I walk over a few aisles and grab some orange juice and apple juice. You’d think they would keep all the breakfast items together, but I have to search all over the store.

Just as I’m picking up a bottle of syrup, I hear my name being called. I look up and see my mother-in-law, Tammie. I haven’t seen her in months. Right after Sherrie’s death, I would see her almost daily. After the first year, it was more like weeks, and now that it’s been almost three years, I rarely contact her.

“Hey, stranger. How are you these days?” she asks, embracing me.

“Always good to see you, Tammie,” I say, returning the gesture before placing my hands back on the cart. Although she was my mother-in-law for so long, I still get nervous being around her since Sherrie’s passing.

“What brings you out so early on a holiday?” she asks as she sips her soda.

“Just picking up a few things I needed for breakfast. I was going to cook but realized I had nothing I was making.” I laugh nervously. “I forgot about it being July 4th. Work has my days and nights and days of the week mixed up.”

“Yeah, long shifts can do that to you. Are you still working at the firehouse?” She pauses for a second. “Anyone steady these days?” she asks, as she knows I haven’t settled down.

“Yes, ma’am, I’m still there. I love my job and my coworkers. It’s stressful at times, but rewarding in the same aspect. And actually, there is a new lady in my life. We’ve only known each other a few weeks. She’s a paramedic and studying to take her fire exam.” I rake my hand down the back of my head. “She’s a good woman.”

“I’m sure you are a wonderful fireman. After all, you were a great detective. And I am so happy to hear you’ve found someone.” I can see the tears welling in her eyes. “Sherrie would want this. You’ll have to bring her by so I can meet her. I better run, I’m heading to meet a few girlfriends for brunch. It was so good seeing you. Take care of yourself.”

“It was so good to see you. Have a Happy Fourth, and I’ll see you soon,” I say, kissing her cheek. As she walks away, a sense of relief washes over me.

Heading toward the checkout, I look into my cart, making sure I have everything I need. Shit, chips. I walk back toward aisle ten, where the sign reads ‘chips and popcorn.’ I grab a bag of plain potato chips and some cheese puffs. No more sour cream and onion. As I pass a few aisles, I stop at register number three, a bushel of flowers scattering the end cap. I manage t
o find a small bunch of colorful daisies, laying them on the conveyor belt before settling my groceries behind them.

I learned a long time ago that it’s a lot easier for the checkout clerks if you stack your items neatly versus just throwing them everywhere. I was a bagger in my teen years, and I still remember listening to the cashiers complain, so anytime I shop, I set the shit neatly so their day can be a little smoother. Making small talk with the older cashier, I grab my things and head to my truck. I feel so good about where my life is headed, and the woman who is going to be in my bed on the regular.

This is going to be the start of something good.

“Hey, I missed you,” Roe says, walking from the bathroom.

  Naked.

Her body is perfect, her creamy skin and long dark hair enough to make any man pine over her.

“You find my note?” I ask, kissing her softly. “I needed to get everything to make you breakfast.”

“I did. Good, I’m starving. I need coffee.” She looks down and sees what I’m staring at. “Shit, I should get dressed.” She has small curves, but they’re curves nonetheless; I watch as her ass jiggles when she walks toward the bedroom.

  Fuck… She’s torturing me.

“Come on, you can wear one of my shirts,” I say as I walk into the bedroom and grab a button-down shirt from the closet. “Here, put this on. I’m not sure how long I can stare at you like that. I’m ready to take you right here.”

Walking back into the kitchen she says, “Sounds tempting, but I really need coffee. We had a long night.” She sucks her lip between her teeth. “But I’m always up for another round.”

Smacking her ass, I say, “Me too, but I need to feed you and pour some coffee down your throat. I can’t let you get weak,” I tease.

“Coffee. Food. Yes, I need those things to perform as well as I do,” she retorts. She climbs up onto the kitchen counter and pops a K-Cup in the Keurig. I stand between her legs, holding the daisies I bought. “Flowers, for me? You’re too sweet, Harris.” She kisses me.

“I try to be. I wasn’t sure what kind of bacon to get, so I got thick cut, peppered and maple flavored. I don’t buy food a lot. I eat at the firehouse or my parents’,” I admit.

“Peppered is my favorite with French toast. My dad used to make it all the time. Do you have cinnamon? You have to put that in the batter.” She hops down and looks through the bags.

“Second drawer on your left,” I tell her as I set everything on the counter. My kitchen is small, but I have a ton of drawers. “Do you have any plans for the day? I was thinking of going to Kathy’s since they’re having their annual 4th of July party later. Plus, she misses Brutus,” I say as I add some bacon to the hot pan.

“Nothing really, so I can tag along. I think London mentioned the barbecue.” She looks at me for approval. “That is if you would like me to.”

“Of course I want you with me.” I lift her chin, so her eyes are on mine. I recognize the look in them. “Don’t think like that.”

“Sorry. I just realized I was inviting myself, and I felt a little silly afterward.” She grabs a fork and starts turning the bacon. “Aren’t you supposed to be cooking for me?”

“Go sit down. I’ll bring you a plate when it’s all done.” I swat her perfect little ass.

“Yes, sir,” she taunts, making her way to the sofa. She flips on the TV and settles in under the throw she was using last night. “Since we didn’t watch the movies last night, wanna start today?”

“Sure, turn it on. Bacon’s done, so I’m gonna start the French toast.” Buttering the pan, I mix the eggs, milk, and cinnamon in a small bowl, whisking until it’s perfect. I dip the Texas toast in the mixture then add it to the sizzling pan. The aroma is making my mouth water. After flipping it to the other side I grab a few plates, I start piling the plates with bacon then add some of the mixed fruit I picked up from the produce section. Turning off the burners, I bring our plates to the coffee table then return to the kitchen to pour us both a glass of OJ.

“This looks amazing! The fruit looks delish. Did you cut this all up yourself?” She raises an eyebrow, and I smirk. “Well, it’s good, even if you got it from the market.”

“My secret’s out. I figured it’s just as good, and I didn’t have to chop it up. But I did make everything else. Well, except the OJ—it’s Tropicana.” I laugh.

She takes a bite of her food and moans loudly. “This is so, so good. I suck at making it. I’ve tried to make it like my dad, but I fail every time.”

“I’m glad you like it. I was a little worried. To be honest, I’ve only watched my mom make it; I’ve never cooked it before. But I’m so glad I didn’t disappoint. Now, please tell me what’s going on in this movie,” I say, popping a piece of bacon in my mouth.

“Okay, she left Alabama because she wanted more, but she’s still in love with her ex. She comes back and realizes it’s her home, the place she needs to be. She realizes that her ex is her soul mate.”

“Ah. Makes sense now why I’ve never watched it,” I tease.

She tosses a grape at me, “Please. You said you like these kinds of movies, or was that to get in my panties?” She raises an eyebrow.

“I really do,” I admit. “And trust me, I’ll be able to get in those sexy little panties whenever I want.” I set my plate on the table. “You ready for your morning orgasm?” I ask, grabbing her plate and setting it to the side. “I had breakfast. Now I’m ready for dessert.”

“Yes,” she breathes into my neck as I kiss down her collarbone.

The last few days with Kole have been amazing. First, we spent the day with his sister and her husband, as well as some of their friends. His parents had other plans, so I didn’t get a chance to meet them. Then the next day we stayed in my bed all day. Sex with him is something I never dreamt I would have. Although I’ve only been intimate with him and Lucas, I feel a connection with him that I never felt with my ex.

Today, we’re driving to my grandparents. I phoned yesterday, and they’re thrilled that I’m coming out. They live in Yellow Springs, which is very quaint. It’s almost three hours from my place here in Cleveland. I always liked to go there; it feels like it’s deep in the country. Super small town.

Kole actually stayed with me last night, so he went home to get ready and then we’re both off the next few days. So we’ve made plans to spend sometime together. I have my second fire exam next week, and I’m a little nervous, even though London swears we’ll pass it. I still don’t understand who allowed her to help the sick and injured, but God, I love her. She and Matt are two of my best friends.

After I shower, I decide on my outfit, going for something comfortable. I hate to travel and not be comfortable. I slip a tank top on and pair it with a maxi skirt. Finding a pair of black ballet flats that are worn, but have been my favorite for years, I slide them on. I’m going to pick Kole up, but first I’m meeting London for coffee. I decide to text her just to make sure I’m not waiting long.

Me: We still on for coffee? I’m picking Kole up and heading to my grandparents afterward.

London: Yeppers. I’m at the Starbucks on Geneses and Roush.

  Me: Perfect. Leaving now.

  London: See you, slut puppy.

And that is why I love her—she has no filter. I wouldn’t have her any other way, that’s for sure.

Tossing my phone in my purse, I lock up and make my way to my car. Sliding in, I see a red rose and a note lying in the seat.

  Roe,

These last few days with you have been amazing. I can’t wait to spend the day with you and meet your grandparents. Drive safely. I’ll see you soon.

  Until then,

  Kole

Sticking the note in my console, I can’t contain the smile spreading from ear to ear. This man is stealing my heart. Swoon. Backing out of my driveway, I head toward the Starbucks where London and I typically quench our mutual love for coffee and doughnuts. I park in the lot next to the coffee shop and see
she’s waiting at a table by the window. She sees me and waves. I smile as I make my way to her.

“Whore, tell me everything about how this man has taken all your time. Matt and I had drinks without you last night,” she whines as she hugs me.

“Stop. I figured you would be with Abbott. But…Kole is amazing. I’ve never felt this way before,” I admit to her.

“How’s the sex? Don’t skip any details,” she says, sliding a venti mocha coffee in my direction. She smiles. “I know the way to your heart.”

“Yes, yes, you do.” I sip the heavenly goodness. “The sex is amazing, London. I’ve never experienced anything like what I feel when I am with him. I never ever thought I could open up to someone else, until now.”

“Damn, the sex is that good, huh?” she teases. “Well, I’m so happy for you, babe. You deserve this and much more. I don’t know his whole story, but I know there is one. I do know he was married before, and she died. Kathy told me that much.”

“Yeah, he told me. I know most of his story. I’m really glad he ran into me that day. If not, I would’ve never met him.”

“Whatever is meant to be, will happen. You would’ve met him sooner or later.”

“Thanks, that means a lot. I needed to hear that from you.” I’m trying not to tear up at her words.

London glances at her phone. “Well, I better get going. I miss you,” she says, hugging me. “We need to do a spa day soon. You start your five days the day after tomorrow?”

“Yes, I think we’re on shift together.” I think I should check my schedule. “Maybe a spa day after our rotations?”

“Sounds good. Call me when you get back from your grandparents and let me know how it went.”
