I suppose they weren't illegal or prescription. I nodded my head. But doubted anything would even take the edge off this pain. I knew what would though, some ice, a high dose of opioids or speed.
"Just give me a minute or so." He walked off.
I knew the demons inside of me would love to swallow down as many drugs as possible but I hadn't been through what I went through to go back. I would never go back to that.
"Here," he handed me a bottle of water "they'll take about twenty minutes or so to kick in."
I swallowed them quickly. "Thanks." I shoot him a small smile. "Night."
"Night."
I didn't like being seen like this, and I hoped he wouldn't hold it over me. I fell backwards onto the bed and hoped sleep would soon come.
The pain was unbearable the next morning. I could barely move. Gritting my teeth as I pulled my jeans on. Fuck me, who knew this could hurt so much. Just as I look at a clean top, I honestly don’t know how I’m going to put my arms up to put it on.
A knock on the door, and the fact I’m only wearing a bra went through my head but I still said come in.
“Alexis…” And his words dried up as he looked at me. My eyes flashed to his and I see concern on his face. But I don’t want to believe that Tyler Hunter was concerned about me. I look back at the top. How the hell was I going to get it on. “Do you need a hand?”
I heard it in his tone. As if he was forcing himself to help me. Which made me more stubborn not to accept it. “No.” I said firmly and then picked up the top.
“You’re as stubborn as you father.” Tyler doesn’t leave instead he walked towards me. “Let me have a look at it.”
I stilled as his hand under the bandage, I couldn’t look at it. But I saw his eyes flash to mine and that concern was painted darker in his eyes.
“It’s infected.” He said something I didn’t want to fucking hear.
“Right.” I gritted out. Just my fucking luck. I couldn’t go the hospital as every bullet wound is reported to the cops.
“I’ll get you a script for antibiotics.” Tyler said like that was possible.
“Club doctor?”
He nodded his head. “And you’ll need pain killers.”
“I don’t take drugs.” Then being stubborn I picked up the top and through the body aching pain I pulled it on, only for Tyler to grip the ends and pulled if fully down over my breasts. I saw the tint of desire in his eyes. Breasts were a lot of men’s kryptonite—and clearly Tyler’s too.
“Alexis. I get you are strong. But you can’t tolerate this type of pain.” He said like I would just give up being sober because of some pain. I looked into his eyes, and I knew he didn’t understand I had a drug problem. But I wasn’t prepared to tell him that either. Men, especially bikers, saw junkies as useless and while the Mother Chapter hadn’t judged me. I knew Tyler would.
“I need to go out.” I said strained because his hands are on my hips, from pulling the top down. He’s tall and while I’m not that short, I’m still looking up at him. The fact he takes care of his muscular body is clear to me. The veins running up his arms bludge out, which enhanced his tattooed, making them more defined. I swallowed sharply. I needed him to take a step back. But I wasn’t the type of girl to listen to my inner need.
“Where?” his question washed over me. Where? To the Loins den. Literally.
“I have a sit down with the Lions.”
“And you were going by yourself.” His voice deepened into a growl. “Fucking hell Alexis you are trouble.”
I titled my head, slightly smirking. “So they tell me.”
His eyes dropped for a second, before he looked me back in the eyes. “Well I’m coming with you. How did you end things? Should I bring more men?”
“It’s not club business.” It my business and the reason my father sent me there was a different reason to why I was going back there.
“Whose business is it then?” He’s interested now and I knew that would be my downfall.
“Mine.” I don’t want to tell him about my tobacco cigars business. The club doesn’t deal with tobacco, it was the reason I picked it to start up as my own. I knew I would never earn straight and my father understood that. While he casted a shadow over what I did. He did know about it. I traded in different territories as I travelled, through charters. The Lions were currently my main buyer and yeah shooting them wasn’t a great business move. But then again, they wanted my cigars, and sometimes personal and business have to be separated. I just hoped that they could do that, like I was prepared to.
I looked Tyler in the eyes. “Better you don’t get involved.”
“Does your father know?”
Did it matter? For some reason I felt like it did matter to him. “Yes.” And I picked up my car keys. “I’ve got a go. Thanks for your help.” Though I don’t know if I should be thanking him, after all he saw me in my bra—again.
Slasher was a bastard of a man. He was the type of man you didn’t want to associate with. Yet here I was, dealing cigars to him.
“Same price?” he took a cigar which he was trialling from his lips. “Or you upped it?”
“Is that you saying you would pay more?” I scoffed, knowing he is a tight bastard when it came to his club and money.
“I’m upping the black market price on them.” He actually said that to me, and I blinked. “Knew you will hear about it, don’t want to cut off our supply because you think I’m under cutting you.” While Slasher was a bastard he was a good business man. So I nodded my head.
“Same price. I don’t care if you up yours.” I wasn’t going to go into detail how I was robbing him for the cost that I get them for. I’m at a three hundred percent increase. I wasn’t going to push it further. Though I took more risk than them.
“The other presidents said you are good when it comes to business.” He smirked at me. “Though your aim isn’t great. Got two living members to tell me that.”
I picked up the bag of cash. “Killing them wouldn’t have been a smart business move.”
“But injuring them was?” He was curious to my reason.
“Like I said. Personal and business are different.” I gripped the bag, my face clenching from pain taking the weight of the money.
“You need a hand to carry that girly? Heard they got you too?”
“No.” I really was stubborn like Tyler said. But I walked out of there carrying a bag of cash. Hundreds. Because I liked Hundreds not fifties or twenties.
TYLER
"Great the lights are still on. She's up then." Dani muttered under her breath while we walked to the front door. “I want her to leave Tyler.” And she gave me a look like I had some control over her being in our house. The truth was the club owned our house, not me—and Rev was the Mother Chapter President all assets really belonged to him. So I couldn’t kick Alexis out.
She didn't even pretend to be nice to Alexis, she hated her and Danni had spent most of the night telling me that.
I thought getting her out of the house would take her mind off Alexis and maybe she could just be normal again but she hadn't been. She had spent most of the night fighting with me about Alexis, and I had spent most of the night biting my tongue.
I cracked open the car door, getting out. The night was cold, and while I thought a date with Danni would repair some of the damage between us. I was wrong. The only thing she was interested in doing was complaining about Alexis.
After an hour lecture at dinner about Alexis, I said I had a headache and so we left. When really Danni was giving me a fucking headache by complaining.
"I thought the bitch would have gone to bed by now." Danni grumbled while unlocking the front door. "We're back." Danni announced rudely as soon as we walked in. I didn't see why she had, it wasn't like we lived in a bloody big house.
Alexis was sitting on the couch, with guns pulled apart on the coffee table she looked to be cleaning them. I should get mine out and do the same, shit I don't remember wh
en the last time I had cleaned mine. I had to admit she had good taste in weapons.
"Really? I had no idea by you walking in." Alexis scoffed with her normal snappy attitude. I did see her point though.
"Why the fuck is my coffee table covered in gun parts?" Danni was fuming, with her hands on her hips.
Alexis looked up, staring Danni directly in the eyes. "Hate to state the obvious but I'm cleaning them."
"What the hell for!"
Great they were going at it already. It didn't take much to get a bite out of Alexis in the first place.
"Could you please get out of my sight?" Alexis glared up at her "Because I'm not in the mood to deal with stupid questions."
"This is my house, and...” Danni gasped “For god sake you have ruined my new magazine!" Danni was outraged and she ripped the magazine from under Alexis's grease bot. "I brought this this morning!"
"Oh just how will you survive not knowing what Victoria Beckham is wearing?" Alexis's voice was mild and disinterested in the argument.
"Tyler do something before I do." Danni yelled at me.
"I need a drink." I walked out of the room. Damn bloody females. Alexis made some sort of snorting voice as I walked away.
"You know Tyler I don't know why you do it." Alexis raised her voice, so I could hear her.
"Do what?" I shouted back as I opened the fridge and then walked out, seeing Alexis’s eyes locked on me.
"Be with her. You know it's a doomed relationship right?"
"Don’t talk like I’m not here!" Danni roared at her, "And you should remember that this is my house!"
"But that is the only way I'm coping not coming across and grabbing your head and slamming it against this coffee table." Alexis got up from the couch, with rage I had never seen before on her face. "And bitch this is a club residence. The Club pays the bills, so I have more of a fucking right to be here then some whiney whore."
"Watch how you speak to her." I pointed a finger at Alexis and raised my voice.
Alexis smirked evilly at me "You should be telling her that, not me." Her voice was calm and lowered dangerously "Because if she doesn't start watching her mouth, I will shut it for her."
"DON'T THREATEN ME!" Danni spoke for herself.
"Confident when your puppet is standing behind you aren't you." Alexis spat at her.
"That's it, get your shit and get the fuck out of my house." I roared at her. Enough was enough.
"Really?" She shot me a dirty look "Your standing by her? What the hell for? She's just a whore you can go get another one!"
"GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!"
What the hell had gotten into Alexis- she was ruder than normal.
"With pleasure." She spat at me, and stormed out of the room and down the hall.
Danni couldn't stop the grin.
"Don't fucking smile." I pointed at her "You started it."
This wasn't how the evening was meant to be. I knew I couldn't actually kick Alexis out, her dad would have my head when he finds out.
"Oh and be sure to let dear old dad know I sent you packing." I yelled at her, when she was about to storm out of the front door with her bag.
She froze, I was expecting her to turn around and charge over here but she didn't, she walked out slamming the front door after her.
"She's gone, happy now?" I looked at Danni-- she had caused that shit. With that said I went to the back door storming out and slamming the back door after me heading to the garage.

Tyler
The days seemed to be getting longer, if that was possible. I scrolled through the newsfeed on my phone. Ethan walked into the small office room, which was a mess. I wasn't big on cleaning.
"The witch hasn't shown up yet." Ethan grunted sorting through past receipts. "Maybe she's finally gone back to hell."
Ethan and Alexis had a run in, over an ashtray. Ethan wasn't impressed when Alexis threw it at him. Alexis really wasn't big on making friends and Ethan was the most laid-back guy— so it took a lot to get him off side.
"I doubt we will be that lucky." It had been two days since Alexis stormed out and I wasn't going to say I was upset not to see her face the next day, or the next but now the third I was beginning to think maybe she had headed home. I was just waiting for the call from her dad, to get an ear full.
"Should we be worried?" Ethan dropped a file on my desk.
"I think Alexis can look after herself."
If there was only one thing I knew about her, it was that.
The garage office door swung open again "Tyler, could you come out here for a moment?" Danielle had her hand on her hip, and shot Ethan a smile.
"It's alright Danni, I was heading out anyway." Ethan gave me a nod and closed the door after himself.
Danni's piercing eyes were locked on me, but I wasn't going to meet them. When Alexis stormed out, I relocated to the club. To say things were rocky between Danni and I was an understatement.
"What do you want Danni?" I had a feeling she was going to turn up soon, seemed today was the day.
"I want know if you're coming home tonight?"
"Don't know."
"You do know." Danni pulled up a chair across from me "Look Tyler I'm sorry. I'll even apology to Alexis, just please come home."
"Danni I'm busy."
"Tyler, please." She reached out putting her hand on mine, "I'm sorry.
"Danni I've got shit to do, just go." I wasn't being harsh to her, she had to learn. She had to start showing me respect. The truth was she looked down at me because I was a criminal. I wasn’t a straight up doctor or citizen and I was beginning to think, if that’s what she wanted. I needed to let her go. After all she had a tight hold on me, and it was about time I started to loosen it.
"Tyler please?" Tears were swelling up in her eyes. I hated to see her cry, and she knew that. "Please."
"I'll see you tonight." I hoped that would settle this. As much as I didn't want to go home tonight, I didn't want to fight with her either. "We're fine." I reassured her and she smiled instantly.
"Okay."
I had enough shit on my plate. I didn't need to be arguing with her too. Just as she closed the door and I thought I might get some peace, my phone started ringing.
"Hello?"
"I want to speak with Alexis."
I picked Revenant’s voice right away- Alexis's dad.
"She isn't here."
"Where is she?" His voice went stern, "Why isn't she answering my calls?"
"I don't know."
"Look Tyler, you aren't the first man to try and lie for my daughter. Put her on the phone now."
"She isn't here." I wouldn't lie to him, especially not to cover Alexis. "She left two days ago. I thought she would be back with you by now."
"She left?"
"Two days ago."
"Did she find out who it was?"
"Who, what was?" What was he talking about?”
"Let me get this straight my daughter has left and she didn't tell you who was feeding information?"
"Feeding information? Look Revenant I don't know what you're talking about. Alexis and I had a fight. I kicked her out of the house. I thought she went home. That's all I know."
"You KICKED MY DAUGHTER OUT!" He roared, and I had to pull the phone away from my ear a little.
"She was fighting with my girlfriend and one thing led to another. Look..."
"Tyler I don't want to hear anymore. FIND MY daughter and call me when you have. Then tell her I am telling her to tell you everything, got it?"
"Right."
He hung up after that. Bloody hell, now I have to find her on top of everything else.
Where the hell was she? And where do I start looking?
"Just start by searching the hotels." I spoke to Ethan on the phone, while walking into the police station. "I'm going to see if Foster can help track her down."
"Tyler you sure we have to do this? Can't she just remain lost?" Ethan didn't want to do look for her,
because it meant when we found her, she was back.
"We have to."
"Alright, we are riding out now. We'll split up, I'm sure we will have her by the end of the day." He didn't sound keen on the idea, but it had to be done.
I hung up, and walked through the police station. I ignored the glances and glares I got from the officers.
I knocked once on Foster's door and then let myself in.
"Look I'll have to call you back Andrew." Foster's beady little green eyes were examining me. I pulled up a chair in front of his small wooden desk, which was more covered with paper work then my own.
"Tyler I'm assuming you want something?" He asked soon after hanging up the phone. "You do know when my door is closed it means I'm busy."
"You know those rules don't apply to me." I pointed out, "Unless you want a pay cut."
Foster was on the books and everyone knew it. For as long as I know Foster has cared more about the money in his bank account then any morals.
"What do you want Tyler?"
"I need you track someone down for me."
"Who might that be?"
"Alexis Lawson."
I noticed his face change slightly and he straightened himself up in his chair. "What do you want with her?"
"You know her?"
"Not exactly."
"You better start explaining yourself Foster, before I start cutting back on your allowance." I threatened. Foster was wormy mole at times and loved to be dodging the point and tell you as little as possible.
"I had the pleasure of pulling her up on highway ninety-one a few nights back. If I knew what I was pulling up I wouldn't have bothered."
"I'm surprised you bothered at all."
"I am still an officer, no matter what you or anyone else thinks." He huffed.
"Keep going with your story. Do you know where she is?"
"No, I do value my life."
A few nights back, would have been the night she had left my place. By the sounds of things she hadn't cooled down as of yet. "So she threatened you?"
