Shit. Lane’s cock was stiffening. The last thing he needed was to get hard in Acton’s study while Acton tried to help him sort out the mess that was his life.
Why did it take so long to pour another damn scotch?
Acton turned and handed him his glass. There was less scotch in it this time. Acton was looking out for him.
“Of course you don’t. You’re a good kid,” Acton repeated. He raised his glass and Lane touched it with his own.
They drank. Acton set his glass down and placed his hand on Lane’s shoulder. Lane swallowed another mouthful of scotch, laughed, and completely missed what Acton said. “What?”
Acton moved the hand on Lane’s shoulder, squeezing gently, rubbing his thumb against Lane’s collarbone. The soft fabric of the T-shirt slid between them. “I said you’re a good-looking kid too.”
Lane squirmed, blushed, and opened his mouth to say something. Anything. “When I was fifteen, I used to jerk off thinking about you.”
Fuck. Not that.
He shivered, then giggled. He’d actually said it. He’d wanted to say something, and he’d fucking said it, instead of choking on the words.
He wondered if Acton was remembering what had happened when Lane was fifteen, right here in this room. When Lane had come up to ask Acton a question on Laura’s behalf and had seen, through the partly open door, Acton changing. He didn’t know why he hadn’t turned and walked away. Just that the sight of Acton’s powerful chest had been mesmerizing. The curves of his ass under his briefs… Lane’s cock had hardened. He’d started to sweat.
And then Acton had turned toward the door.
Lane returned to the present, where a smile was spreading across Acton’s handsome face. “Dirty little slut.”
Wait, what? That wasn’t the sort of thing Acton should say to him.
And it wasn’t the sort of thing that should make him hard. God.
He remembered Acton guiding him to sit beside him on the chaise. Taking Lane’s hand and rubbing Lane’s knuckles with his thumb. “Did you like watching me, Landon?”
He had. But it was so wrong. He shouldn’t have been thinking about his parents’ friend that way.
“Please don’t tell my parents.”
“I think…” The words weren’t working in his mouth. Something wasn’t right. He couldn’t think. Could only watch wide-eyed as Acton took the glass out of his numb fingers and pressed it up against his lips.
“Drink up.” Acton laughed again. “You’re okay.”
He was? Thank God. He’d been worried.
“We’re going to have some fun now, aren’t we, Landon?”
Suddenly the glass was gone, and Acton’s lips pressed against his. Soft and a little chapped. Acton’s stubble scratched his chin. Lane giggled into Acton’s mouth.
Why had he been worried? He trusted Acton.
“It’ll be our little secret.”
Lane smiled, scotch dribbling from the corners of his mouth.
I wanted more. That was my secret.
Acton had known that. Last time he was over at the Moredocks’, when Lane was on break from school, they’d ended up in the living room together. Acton had put an arm around Lane and rubbed the back of his neck. Lane had leaned into the touch, understanding it wasn’t innocent, wasn’t friendly. He’d felt Acton’s breath hot on the side of his neck, and he’d waited for the brush of Acton’s lips, knowing if it happened, he wouldn’t refuse. But Lane’s mother had entered the room then, and Acton had pulled away.
But now Acton was kissing him, and it was okay. Lane was all nice and floaty warm, and Acton Wagner, the man who was going to save him, had one hand on his shoulder to hold him upright in the chair, while the other one worked away at the button on his fly.
Fuck, yes.

About the Authors
Lisa Henry likes to tell stories, mostly with hot guys and happily ever afters.
Lisa lives in tropical North Queensland, Australia. She doesn’t know why, because she hates the heat, but she suspects she’s too lazy to move. She spends half her time slaving away as a government minion, and the other half plotting her escape.
She attended university at sixteen, not because she was a child prodigy or anything, but because of a mix-up between international school systems early in life. She studied history and English, neither of them very thoroughly.
She shares her house with too many cats, a dog, a green tree frog that swims in the toilet, and as many possums as can break in every night. This is not how she imagined life as a grown-up.
