  MATTHEW LEWIS was born in Carbonear, Newfoundland. He currently resides in St. John’s where he works as a building inspector.

  JENINA MACGILLIVRAY is a writer, filmmaker, and musician based in St. John’s, her home for the past twenty years. Her recent film Boarding premiered at the Atlantic Film Festival, and she is the 2015 winner of the RBC Michelle Jackson emerging filmmaker’s award for her short script The Tour. “Gorillas” is her first publication.

  IAIN MCCURDY is from St. John’s. He has won numerous awards for fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, most recently a 2015 Arts and Letters award for creative nonfiction for the essay “{(S)(K)(I)(N)}.” He enjoys three-act structure, taking off early, flying by the seat of his pants, and, once every now and again, landing butterside up.

  LISA MOORE is the author of the novels Alligator, Caught, and February, the short-story collections Degrees of Nakedness and Open, and the stage adaptation of her novel February. Moore’s first young-adult novel, Flannery, will be published in April 2016. She is a professor of Creative Writing at Memorial University.

  MORGAN MURRAY was born and raised near the same backwoods west-central Alberta village (Caroline) as figure-skating legend Kurt Browning.These days he lives, works, plays, writes, and slowly renovates a really old crappy house with his lovely wife in St. John’s. In between, he has been a farmer, a rancher, a roustabout, a reporter, a designer, a Tweeter, and a student in Calgary, Prague, Montreal, Chicoutimi, and Paris.“KC Accidental” originally appeared in The Broken Social Scene Story Project (Anansi, 2013).

  GARY NEWHOOK is a writer from Paradise, Newfoundland, who now resides in Kilbride. His first break was when MUN Drama produced his play Snails in 2010 followed by a win in the Statoil Young Playwriting Series. His work has previously appeared in the online publications Defenestration and Every Day Poetry and on paper in Ahoy! and Paragon. He is a member of The Port Authority writing group and has a fondness for growing potatoes and being in the woods.

  MELANIE OATES is a writer, filmmaker, and costume designer. She’s a winner of the Percy Janes First Novel Award and has written and directed four short films (Get Out, Distance, Bait, ThereYou Are). She was also the costume designer for the feature films Cast No Shadow and Closet Monster. In 2014, she co-founded Carrie at Heart Productions Ltd with her producing partner Jess Anderson. Season one of their web-series The Manor is set to be released in fall 2015, and they are currently developing their first feature film project, Scattered and Small. Mel is a baygirl living in St. John’s.

  SUSAN SINNOTT has a healthcare background but now spends her time writing fiction. She is a member of The Port Authority writing group, and in 2014 she won The Percy Janes First Novel Award for her manuscript Just Like Always. Sinnott lives in St. John’s.
