The Pentagram Child: Part 1 (Afterlife Saga Book 5) Page 40

by Stephanie Hudson

“I like your words, sweetheart.” He said before kissing the side of my lips.

“Please.” I said again and after one, two, three hard thrusts that had me gasping he said,

“After you give me what I want.” He said and sucked at my neck again where he had left it raw this time. The sting of pain made me clench around his length and the hurt soon sank under a pool of pleasure, flooding my system with endorphins.

“Anything…” I told him in an almost pained voice given how close I was. It was as though he wouldn’t let me come but wanted to keep me right on the edge of this heavenly chasm. He growled and this time it was mainly his demon side, which only managed to send another spasm of me rippling around him as his thrusts became that little bit quicker. He kissed his way up the side of my breasts and over my lips where he told me exactly what he wanted from me,

“Then beg for me my Electus. Give me your eyes and beg for me to give you what you need.”

“Please…Dominic…please.” As soon as I finished saying his name he kissed me at the same time driving into me and managing to use my cry to his advantage as he plundered my mouth with his tongue. Then he started to pound into me at such a speed all I could do was hold on and I cried into his mouth with unspeakable pleasure.

“Oh…oh…oh yes!” I shouted as I felt it coming closer and closer until coiling round like something needed to be released or my body would shatter. Then my body started to quake in his arms and he put his forehead to mine.

“Are you going to fall with me?” He asked and I could only nod as I was desperate for him to just let me come. It was like climbing a mountain and reaching out for that next handhold. You’re so close and you’re reaching, so close, too close but you just can’t make it. So I forgot about any of that and decided to let myself fall and hold on to the only thing that mattered. My hands reached up and locked around Draven’s neck where I managed to just pull myself up enough to whisper,

“Are you going to catch me?” I watched fascinated as his eyes grew darker before he replied with,

“Always.” And then as if to prove his point he erupted into his other self and his wings engulfed the bed and cast us both in shadow. It was like making love under a canopy of feathers and each one was coursing with what looked like a purple flame. Draven’s motions got even faster now that his wings were adding in his movements and propelling him forward to charge into me. I wrapped my legs further up his back and held on for what felt like my life as it was starting to crumble around him.

Then I opened my eyes and saw the start of Hell’s fire start to invade the man I loved and I knew I couldn’t let him lose that side of himself. I couldn’t stop what was happening and he seemed so lost in what we both knew was a divine moment that he hadn’t yet realised it. I took in his strong features transformed by pleasure and that was when I started to notice the glowing coming from his arms. I sucked in a startled breath at the sight of his raw scars that was thankfully masked by the increased power of him taking me harder.

I could see the moment he started to really fall and in the end I knew it was up to me this time to catch him. So I did what I hoped wasn’t a stupid thing and I braved facing that hidden side of him. I let go of the grip I had around his neck and then placed my hands over his forearms. I felt the burn but instead of pulling away I concentrated on using all of my shields and transferring them to one place. I had no idea if it could be done but I knew one thing and that was if I let Draven stop now, he would never touch me again from fear of hurting me. I knew I was taking a risk but I also knew that in this moment, right now and in this time, there was nothing stronger than the two of us joined as one.

And I was right. Without Draven even realising what I was doing I felt my strange power shield me from his other self and it almost felt like taming a hidden beast you knew was there in the shadows. I gripped tightly onto his arms once more now that the burn had fled his skin and then regained my hold around his neck. I watched as the last of the fire left his eyes and the darker purple was dominant once more. Then I let myself soar…

“Now come with me!” Draven roared in his demonic voice and I screamed out as I felt him finally let me erupt around him. He continued just inches from my face maintaining the eye contact the whole time, holding onto my hair until my neck was arched back. My release seemed to spiral out of control and I actually felt like I was falling. It felt like I was close to passing out from the sheer intensity of it all.

“Oh no you don’t!” Draven said turning my head to the side and he deliciously punished me with each last motion before he himself exploded inside me. He threw his head back and I watched though half lids as his fangs extended before then seeing them coming at me at a dizzying speed.

“AHHH!” I screamed as he sank them in to my neck for the last time and sucked hard making me come once more. There was a blinding light that detonated behind my eyes just as I felt him pulsate inside me as he emptied himself. My back bowed coming off the bed and I felt his arms go under me, holding me steady as I quivered uncontrollable.

“You’re ok, you’re ok… I’ve got you…I got you my Angel.” He cooed in my ear and he gently lowered me back onto the bed. It felt like I was coming down from the biggest high of my life and that combined with training for the Olympics marathon, well it had me in pieces.

“Let’s sort out the mess I made.” He said as I lay there panting and gasping for air. He groaned when I continued to spasm around where he still lay hard and embedded inside me. I felt him lean down and seal my neck, licking away any evidence before coming back to look at me. Then he put his forehead to mine and said the only words I now needed to hear,

  “I love you.”

  Chapter 36

  The Truth Finally Comes Out

I don’t really remember what happened after Draven told me he loved me but it was like the last thing my body needed to hear before I could give in to sleep. I knew without a doubt I needed it but I also knew it wasn’t just physically but almost mentally that I needed the rest. It was as if all the worry, heartbreak and frustrations over the last year had finally come to fruition in this one moment. And the knowledge in that was like my mind taking a big sigh and only needing one thing…

  Peace.

I had no clue how long this had lasted as I stretched out my limbs expecting to feel sore. Then I clued into the fact that I was obviously once again benefiting from Draven’s essence and would heal very quickly. Well it certainly came in handy being with a sexually dominant partner and considering how rough Draven could sometimes be when he let himself go. Not that he ever really hurt me and I relished in the knowledge that I could do that to him and his control. But it also meant that waking the next morning or in this case still the night that I wasn’t going to be walking like John Wayne had lost his horse.

I rubbed some of the sleep from my eyes and looked towards where Draven was still resting. I was surprised I hadn’t woken him with my movements as he was on his side with his arms around me. Seeing him look so peaceful made me smile and I gently pushed back a piece of hair that had fallen over his forehead. I drank in the sight of the man I loved with the soft moonlight filtering through the windows and casting shadows on his skin. I think I could have stared at him for the rest of the night but my restless mind wouldn’t give me the calming thoughts to do such time real justice.

So with this in mind I shifted gently from his hold taking the added care in not waking him. Once I was free I pulled off the top sheet and wrapped it around myself before rising from the bed. The first thing I noticed was that Draven must have cleaned me of any trace of him after our time making love and after I had obviously passed out on him. This thought made me both blush and smile to myself at the thought of him taking care of me in the most intimate way a man could to the woman he loved.

I walked over to the windows and saw the glass doors in the middle that led out onto a balcony. I looked back at the bed to see Draven still in the land of King nod and decided i
t wouldn’t wake him, so I opened the doors. The cool night air felt wonderful on my blushed skin and I closed my eyes taking it in. I stepped out into the night and wondered what time it must be.

But wondering the time didn’t keep my mind occupied enough not to find it overloaded by all the questions I now had. It was like being in a room full of towering files and all I needed was one last question to be added to the top for them all to come toppling down over me. I felt buried under the weight as it was and that was ever since I knew he had lied all that time ago. I had tried to fool myself by believing I had moved on or no longer cared enough thanks to the hurt but it had all been a way of coping with my loss.

“I must say, I am not a fan of waking up without you in my bed, Keira.” Draven’s voice startled me to a jump but he soon put his arms around me from behind and pulled me back to him.

“And I have been forced without the pleasure for far too long.” He said leaning down to kiss my bare shoulder after slipping the sheet from my skin. I shuddered in his hold and I felt his satisfied grin smile against me.

“I guess I couldn’t sleep anymore.” I said looking out onto the canal and watching the still water reflecting the night sky.

“Are you alright?” He asked losing that playful tone now it was replaced with concern.

“I’m fine, not even an ache.” I smiled up at him from the side.

“Good.” He leant down and kissed my nose, laughing when I felt it wrinkle out of habit.

“I gather it is an ache of the mind given the amount of questions you must have.” He said pushing back some of my loose hair from my face. My response was to turn fully and plant my face in his chest where I then groaned making him chuckle.

“I understand. There are things between us, things that have gone left unsaid for far too long. I would be a fool not to understand this and the obvious frustrations you must be feeling but if you are ready, then so am I.” I looked up at him when he finished and said all I needed to say,

  “I’m ready.”

“Then come, it’s going to be a long night and I want you comfortable.” He said taking my hand and leading me over to a sitting area that comprised of a two person sofa in a soft grey and two matching arm chairs all positioned around a chunky wooden coffee table. He let go of my hand and I sat on the sofa pulling the sheet closer around myself, getting comfortable as Draven suggested. Then some of the lamps around the room started to glow so it was enough for us to see each other.

Draven gave me a small smile before taking the armchair closest to me and I finally noticed Draven had put on some soft looking pyjama bottoms in a dark grey colour that hung low on his hips. The sight of his naked torso and hard muscles on show nearly made me say to hell with questions let’s go for round two instead. Then he spoke and that thought took a nose dive.

“I was giving her an order.” Draven blurted out after a moment of silence had fallen between us.

“Okay, you know you are going to have to explain that to me.” I said calmly trying not to wince at him even talking about her.

“I needed her to find out why I could hurt you whenever I touched you.” He said as he reached out to touch me, then thought better of it and fisted his hand instead.

“Alright, I know I don’t really want to ask this but I have no choice…why would she know that?” I said closing my eyes and bracing myself.

“Ahh!” I shouted in shock when I suddenly felt Draven’s arms around me and picking me up to sit astride him.

“Ssshh…” He cooed holding me to him.

“I just needed to feel you in my arms, to feel that you’re safe.” He said and the relief was easy to hear in his gruff voice. It was as though he had just suddenly had a flash back to this evening and me running from him.

“And to make sure I don’t run again.” I said on a laugh trying to ease the tension I could feel in his hold. It was like he was wound up so tight, as if he was trying to hold himself back from something.

“Well there is that.” He replied to the top of my hair as he held my head to his chest.

“You can’t do that again, my heart won’t survive it.” He said pulling me back after placing his hands at my shoulders.

  “I…”

“I mean it Keira, do you realise the danger you could have been in?” He said bending his head to look me in the eyes.

“Oh I know…” I muttered thinking back to earlier and then wanted to follow it up with an ‘Oh shit’ as I realised what I just said.

“What do you mean!?” He demanded raising his voice a notch with a new worry. I knew that at some point I would have to have told him but I had been hoping to at least get my own answers first.

“Ok so something happened but it was all fine and I’m all good yeah?” I said trying to placate him.

“Keira.” He said my name as a warning and I could see he was about to lose it in a big way. I shifted on his lap and pulled back to take in his darkening eyes that spoke of rage if I didn’t word this right.

“Ok so I ran and then something weird started happening where it was like all these masked faces were laughing at me and getting closer and closer and I got freaked so I…I don’t know, it just happened and something I couldn’t see pushed them all back, but it was like it was coming from me…but that’s impossible right?” I said in a rush and I watched him sigh.

“I heard about that. Did it hurt you in anyway?” I frowned at his question as I thought back to it.

“No, it just…well it kind of felt like an overload of emotion and then…well then it just… exploded.” I said shrugging. I saw his shoulders relax and at that point I knew I had made a mistake telling him the easiest thing first.

“It’s alright we can deal with this, just as long as you’re safe and…”

“There’s something else.” I blurted out before I lost my nerve. I winced when his hands on my hips gripped me tighter but it wasn’t from pain, it was from the worry.

“Okay, so running from you was a bad idea, I admit that now and I…”

“Keira, have pity on my nerves and tell me.” He said after placing four fingers across my lips to silence my nervous rambling.

“Someone tried to take me.” I announced in a rush and watched as the rage swept through his features in slow motion. Suddenly I found myself being lifted off him, landing on the couch with a whoosh and he was stood up and raking his hands in his hair.

  “Draven its ok, I am…”

“I wouldn’t finish that sentence if I was you.” Draven growled knowing I was about to say ‘I am fine’. The feisty side of me wanted to snap back but I knew he needed this moment to calm, not have me making it worse with throwing him attitude. So I gave him the time.

“Explain.” He managed to hiss out the word and I tried not to take it to heart that he was angry at me but knowing him, more at himself for letting this happen. Of course if we were to point fingers and blame it would be me first for running and the man trying to take me second. But I knew he wouldn’t see it like this, so I just gave him what he needed and answered him.

“I was running one minute and the next was grabbed from behind. He tried to pull me from the crowd when my body started fighting back. It was like…well, I don’t know how to explain it but my body became immobile so he couldn’t move me.” Draven finally turned back to me and asked,

“Was it the same as when you block out my kind?” I would have liked to have told him yes to the question, just so I knew he would find the little comfort that I had defeated this new enemy on my own…but that would have been a lie.

  “No…I…I had help.”

“Keira, my patience…” I didn’t let him finish before I butted in with,

“It was someone called Seth…who saved me I mean. Well anyway, he was stood by the four horses on the Cathedral. The man who had hold of me looked up and said his name like he knew he was there to help me.”

“Did he hurt you?!” Draven snapped at the thought.

  “No, he
just let me go and then the power I had left me like he had snapped his fingers…then he kind of waved and left.”

“Another moth.” Draven muttered to himself and I frowned.

  “What do you mean?”

“Nothing, so what did you do then?” I decided to let the cryptic moth comment go and continue with my foolish adventure.

“Then I ran some more and bumped into Sigurd.” I said deciding it was a good idea to leave out the fact I was nearly ploughed down by the night’s entertainment.

“Gods be damned, Keira!” Draven roared and then hit out at the bedpost he was stood by, snapping it nearly in two, so it now bent at an angle. He had twisted his body as he lashed out and now stood with his back to me.

“Draven!” I shouted back, standing up and watching as his tensed muscles heaved with his heavy breathing. He didn’t say anything but he did put a hand out to the bed post and without touching it the wood started to fold back together until right again.

“Damn interfering Snake-eye!” Draven said to himself with venomous spite making me angry.

“Actually that damn interfering Snake-eye is the one who convinced me to stop running and acting foolish. He is also the one who made sure I got back here, back to you safely!” I said letting my irritation seep into my words and help in getting my point across. On hearing this Draven turned back to me and the disbelief was easy to read in his eyes.

“Truth?” He asked making me frown and fold my arms across my sheeted chest.

“Of course it is!” I snapped.

“You really are a beacon of light aren’t you?” He said more calmly and I shook my head not knowing what he meant.

“I’m sorry.” Hearing this shocked me as did watching all the tension fall from his shoulders. He walked back over to me and lifted both my hands to his lips and kissed them sweetly.

“Are you alright?” He asked looking down at me over my hands that he still held to his lips. I nodded in response making him wrap his arms around me and hold me to him in a much needed hug.
