None of us answer. Devon and Julia have just started to talk about Tina, which is a conversation that doesn’t include me. Devon and I talk about clouds and the next JPL launch, not our feelings.
He raises his eyebrows. “I’ll ask again. What are we talking about?”
“We’re talking about what we should do with over a billion dollars in bitcoin. Any thoughts?” Julia didn’t say it was her billion dollars, even though she could. She didn’t say it was his billion dollars either.
No one is trying to take it, so it seems safe to keep it. And ever since Larry Naythons published a piece in Celebrity Exposed saying that Julia and Trishelle are producers of the year for creating The Danger Game, law enforcement doesn’t seem to care at all.
Anthony leans forward. “Steven, all of this happened because you snapped a photo of the glamorous Julia Travers five years back. What do think we should do with a billion dollars?”
“Take care of Mendoza and Marsh’s families.”
Julia nods. “We will. And you, too, Carl. We’ll pay you back, and then some.”
“Let’s use it to make a difference,” I say, and for the first time in years, I feel like I have a place in the world.
