Peacock Tails #1: A Lesson in Pleasure Page 3

by Cassandra Corbin

Pavlina could barely get the words out: "Does this mean I can stay?"

Amalja exchanged a faintly rueful look with Gavran, and carefully they got Pavlina upright, the wolf catching her as she swayed, pulling her in for a kiss. “It means,” she said decisively, “you’re going to bed now.”

When Pavlina woke, it was early morning.

She sat up carefully. That strange too-tight feeling in her skin had faded, though she was still tingling all over faintly from the effects of Gavran’s sigil: still slick between her thighs too, despite a dim memory of being bathed, and sore in any number of places. The peacock got to her feet and stretches—oh, that was a good soreness.

She really would have to be willful and disobedient more often.

Pavlina got out of bed as quietly as she could. The sun hadn’t been up long; the light streaming in her bedroom window was still pink and soft. This time, her hair received only a cursory brush-out before she wove it back into a neater, tighter braid and made her way to the kitchen.

Empty. Pavlina went to the door; the key was still in the lock. For once, she was the first one awake. She needed to go back and dress and make breakfast ... but as always, she found herself staring longingly out the kitchen window. She couldn’t help a little impish smile, nose wrinkling.

Five minutes, she decided. They won’t miss me if it’s just five minutes, and I won’t let anyone near me—

“Pretty thing.” Amalja’s arms wrapped firmly around her from behind; the kiss the wolf-woman dropped on Pavlina’s shoulder was full of teeth and promise. “Thinking of going somewhere?”

Pavlina steadied herself with a deep breath. “No, Mistress,” she said at last, and was a little perplexed to realize that she meant it. “No, I’m not.”

“Good, because I distinctly remember putting you to bed.” The witch’s grip loosened just enough for her to turn Pavlina around and pull her back toward her bedroom. “But I don’t remember saying your lesson was over.”

Rules are made to be broken...

“And here you go.” Despite his newness to the city, Warren had proved adept in taking directions to Troy’s apartment, and now his truck sat in the space next to the doctor’s Lexus. “Home safely. Thanks for the company—even if you do have too damn many morbid stories.”

“It goes with the territory.” Troy unbuckled his seat belt, but didn’t move otherwise. “...Thanks, Warren. I really needed that.”

“What, you needed a cheeseburger and a chance to traumatize somebody? My pleasure.” Warren studied him. “Think we can do that again without the war stories?”

Troy turned his gaze out the window. “In a couple of weeks, yeah, maybe.”

“A couple of weeks, he says.” Again that deep rasping laugh, the one that made Troy’s arms prickle with gooseflesh. “When you’ve got an entire weekend free.”

Troy sighed. “Warren, I really should be—” and he turned back just in time to feel Warren’s callused palm cradle the back of his neck as the other man’s lips firmly claimed his own. He groaned involuntarily, and that was enough of an opening for Warren’s tongue to flick into his mouth—a brief contact, but one that made Troy shiver, made heat pool low in his belly. “W-Warren...”

“Here.” Warren changed positions a little awkwardly in the close confines of the truck’s cab, leaning back and pulling Troy with him until the doctor was practically straddling his hips. He set his teeth in Troy’s lower lip, gently, chuckling at the low whine he got in response. “I think you like this.”

He did. Oh, God, he did. Troy returned the kiss with a soft, needy noise, coaxing Warren’s tongue into his mouth and sucking it hungrily, squirming, wishing for more room to move. When breathlessness forced him to break the kiss, he slid his lips across Warren’s jaw, feeling the barest hint of stubble, then down the strong tanned column of his neck, tasting salt, finding a bounding pulse and sucking there. He was dimly aware that he was fumbling at Warren’s collar, that Warren’s fingers were in his hair, and he wanted—

“Troy.” Warren sounded almost drunk, but even so, the rumble in his voice only added to the lust dragging hot through Troy’s veins. “Isn’t this the part where you ask me to come in?”

You always remember your first time...

“Shawn?” Connor sounded surprisingly gentle. “There’s nothing wrong with enjoying this. It’s nice to have someone run their fingers through your hair.”

  “I don’t … I’m not attracted to men.”

“Oh, I think that blush says otherwise.” Connor’s eyes finally met his, and Shawn froze, uncertain of what to say next. The CEO’s frank perusal of him made him uncomfortable, but it was hard to deny what Connor was saying.

It … it does feel good. A little. Why does it feel that way when he’s touching me? Why does it have to feel nice when he…

“Shawn, have you ever dated anyone? Been attracted to anyone?” Connor asked.

“I … no, not … not exactly,” Shawn managed, tongue-tied. “I mean, most girls aren’t that into geeks, y’know, so…”

“I am,” Connor said. “If you’ll give me a chance. Besides, if you’ve never dated anyone before, how do you know you prefer women?”

Shawn’s eyes darted around the room, trying to evade those relentless blue eyes. “Uh…”

The other man leaned forward, and Shawn tried to move his head back, only to feel Connor’s hand tangle in his hair, keeping him still, and Shawn squeezed his eyes shut, flinching as the other man’s lips suddenly claimed his own.

The heat from his face felt as though it abruptly drained away, pouring down his spine in a confusing blur of emotions. Connor’s lips were soft, warm, and almost tender as they nibbled at his own, and with his eyes shut it was impossible to tell the difference between this and how a woman might have kissed him, save for the spicy note of aftershave that teased his nose.

He couldn’t pull away easily with the other man’s hand tangled in his hair, and Shawn felt his body weakening against the slow, hungry kiss. His hands reached out instinctively to lie against Connor’s chest, seizing the CEO’s suit lapels as though he was going to push the other man away … and then Shawn’s fingers tightened around the fabric instead, clinging to the other man’s jacket in spite of everything he’d said.

After a few moments, he tentatively found himself kissing back, his lips hesitant as they pressed against Connor’s.

Connor made a pleased noise, nibbling along Shawn’s lower lip until he finally elicited a moan from the college student. He stroked his fingers through Shawn’s hair possessively.

And then it was over, suddenly; a last gentle nibble at the tip of Shawn’s nose made him blush again, but he could no longer feel Connor’s breath against his skin.

  “Shawn.”

The caress Connor lent the single word made Shawn’s eyes open, and he simply stared at the CEO for a full minute, breathless.

“That felt exquisite, didn’t it?” Connor said softly. “It felt right to you.”

  “N-no…”

“You’re still holding my jacket, Shawn.”

The young man let go of Connor’s lapels abruptly, yanking his hands back as though they were on fire.

Shawn’s being taken for a ride...

  “C-Connor?”

“That little stutter you get when you’re nervous is adorable,” Connor murmured, and tugged Shawn’s pants down. “Little help?”

  Shaw
n lifted himself a bit, and Connor tugged the briefs down to his knees, his right hand reaching back up to stroke between Shawn’s thighs. The college student trembled slightly at the caress, his body already rising to meet Connor’s questing fingers, and he bit his lip to keep from moaning at the way the other man was fondling his balls.

“I seem to remember you liked being touched here,” Connor said, eyeing him, and Shawn managed a nod, eyes sliding shut as Connor lightly flicked his fingers against the sensitive area. His balls felt heavy again, and surprisingly full, and Connor’s gentle attention felt blissfully good.

Connor played with him for a few more moments, then drew his hand back to fish in his pants pocket for a small foil square and tore it open. “One of these days, we’re going to have to try this some place we can afford to make a mess.”

  “...Why?”

“Because I wouldn’t mind tasting you,” Connor said teasingly, gently applying the condom. “But I guess this’ll have to do for now.”

“What’re you going to do to me?” Shawn said apprehensively, then clutched at the seat as Connor took hold of him again. The CEO stroked his shaft, then pressed a kiss to the sensitive head before parting his lips and taking Shawn into his mouth.

The college student whimpered softly at the sudden warmth that enveloped his cock. There was no sensation of wetness, thanks to the condom, but the feeling of Connor’s tongue flicking delicately across his head made him squirm on the limo’s backseat, his breath coming faster.

  “Conno-nghh! H-hey, you…”

The CEO’s ice blue eyes flicked up to meet Shawn’s for a moment, his mouth nibbling down the swelling length of Shawn’s dick, then drawing back for a moment to kiss one of Shawn’s balls.

  “Hahh…”

Connor gave a pleased sigh at the soft, choked moans he was earning from the other man and fingered Shawn’s balls again before gently drawing one into his mouth and sucking, the wetness adding a new dimension to the pleasure.

Shawn’s fingers clamped into the upholstery, the grip on the limo seat the only relief he could find for just how good Connor was making him feel.

It wasn’t a fluke; it’s the same. The same as last time. It feels so perfect, so right.

Like I want him to take me.

  “I…”

Connor glanced at him again for a moment, then switched targets, and Shawn sucked in a ragged breath as little white points of light clouded his vision for a moment.

“I really … love the way that feels,” Shawn managed finally, the words half-strangled by a low moan.

  Something's cooking in Florida...

“As it so happens, I’m awake now,” Tarrin finally managed. “Um ... really awake.”

“Pancakes are hot,” Rowan said, clearly bent on tormenting him as long as possible.

“So am I,” Tarrin retorted. “Rowan…”

His boyfriend vanished out the bedroom door without another word, and Tarrin felt his heart sink a little at the abrupt end to the conversation.

A moment later, however, Rowan was back, this time without the spatula he’d been holding. “Figured I should turn off the stove if we’re going to be occupied,” he said smugly, and Tarrin almost groaned in relief.

“Sorry about the food,” he managed, and his lover shrugged.

“I can make more afterwards, babe. I’d far rather let the food get cold than you,” Rowan teased, climbing onto the bed and carelessly kicking off his shoes.

Tarrin relaxed into the soft mattress, a slight smile curving his lips as the osprey knelt over him, supporting himself with his one good hand as he straddled the doctor.

“I didn’t want to wait any longer either,” Rowan said huskily, nuzzling the curve of Tarrin’s neck.

“Then stop driving me crazy, would you?” Tarrin said plaintively, and Rowan laughed softly, his breath tickling against Tarrin’s skin.

“Well, if you insist, sure …” Rowan slipped his arm out of the sling and tossed it aside, his left hand sliding into the arch of Tarrin’s back and stroking the soft skin there.

  “Rowan, please—”

“I’ll be careful, babe. But I kinda want both my hands free right now,” Rowan murmured, pressing several kisses to the sandpiper’s jawline.

Tarrin let his fingers tangle in the other man’s hair, and angled his head to catch Rowan’s kisses against his lips, his breath coming faster at sensations he hadn’t felt in months.

Rowan’s hand wandered down to toy with the sheets that had slid down to his partner’s waist. “Anything in particular you wanted?”

Tarrin’s laugh was muffled somewhat by Rowan’s lips. “I don’t care.”

  “No?”

“It’s been four months, Rowan. I think—” The doctor moaned as his boyfriend’s tongue curved against one of his nipples. “...I-I think I’m…fine with anythi—”
