  Not this time boys.

I had my eyes on only one man and his name was Nathaniel Dunlow.

  Chapter 38

  Nathanial

Having a person steady in your life was something new to me.

Never before I had one person who, I met every other night and made out with.

High school, college and all after that had been one roller coaster of a ride, at thirty two I had finally decided that maybe it was time to find someone and try to have a normal relationship with them.

Maybe this was not the best decision for me.

I was not made for this.

Sure Alexis was amazing but I was a little tired with all the constant news about us that was plastered on the entertainment pages.

I mean come on. It was becoming a little tiresome.

And then the endless office gossip.

First it had been about how practically woman in the office wanted to get into my pants and now it was this.

And to top it all off, Mike Hadderly had not exactly been very welcoming and charming since the whole Alexis and I dating thing had come out.

Come on man what exactly had you been thinking.

His being cold and distant only remained for a few days before he realized that we both were in this for the long run.

On the other hand Arthur was more than happy for some strange reason. He had finally decided to retire and spend the rest of his time, cruising the world in his newly purchased boat.

  If that was humanely possible.

Damnnnnn you Arthur, just as things were finally settling down you had to go and retire.

Who was going to keep a check on things and make sure that I don’t screw up?

However, the happiest person in the office seemed to me Mrs. Stroman.

She now could look forward to less complains, about made up attacks against girls by me.

  Idiots.

Didn’t these people realize I had way too much money and I could use that to drag cases for years through the courts?

Some people just wanted to watch the world burn.

Alexis was starting to grow on me, slowly and steadily, sure I loved that woman, but there was this irresistible charm to her that made me think twenty times before I wanted to do something to her.

Shaking my head as a knock on the door brought me back.

“You ready to go?” a dressed up Alexis pushed open the door and walked into my bedroom.

“Woah you look good,” I said admiring her in the green dress that went with her auburn hair.

“What can I say, I am dating a person with some amazing taste in clothes,” she said perching herself on the edge of the bed that made the dress ride up even higher exposing her long legs.

Looking at her, something inside me stirred.

‘What time is our reservation?” I asked her.

  “7:30”, she says.

I looked at my watch to see my watch telling the time as 6:45.

“If we leave at 7 we can make it in time, also what is the point of me being rich if I can’t strut in and demand a table whenever I want?” I say removing my shirt and moving towards her.

“Well, for starters, it might not make the others feel bad, whose place you eventually take up”, she said slowly sliding the strap of her dress off.

“Ehhhhhh, doesn’t matter, also I think ten minutes is more than enough for us. Don’t you?” I asked catching a hold of her hands and pushing her back into the bed.

“5 if you’re good and ready,” she said with a smirk.

  Chapter 39

  Alexis

Four months in and I think both of us were finally getting the hang of this boyfriend girlfriend thing.

Neither one of us wanted to be labeled but then again who does?

But as people would have it, we eventually were.

The initial reaction to both of us being together had not exactly been welcoming, but with four months down the line, and with neither one of us giving a crap about other people, we had stuck around.

Eventually, it just became another story and the wonder and amazement started to die down.

  The press not so much.

Jess had finally come to accept that Dunlow did not have a ‘secret sex pad” where he took all his women and had a long and hard discussion with him on why he should have had one and it would have just made things easier for him.

How exactly, she never said. Not that Jess ever gave a straight answer for anything.

On the other hand she had come to accept that there were going to be some days when Dunlow would just come walking out of the bathroom in nothing but just a towel around his torso, and that, that this was going to be normal.

As for her and Ashley, a summer wedding was on the books, with yours truly serving as bridesmaid.

Things had taken quitter a turn for me ever since I came to New York, from being the outcast, to the marketing major and an asshole boss who just wanted to sleep with me; it had all turned out okay in the end.
