“Okay well then lets beat it.”

Soon feet shuffled away, car doors opened and closed, cars started up, and they all drove away, only in the wake of the panic, they forgot to retrieve the car with a surviving driver.

“And here we sit at another murder scene.” Margret finally breathed.

“At least they didn't kill you again,” Jacqueline offered, “and this time you didn't rip your stitches.”

  Ep 31, Chapter 2

They left the alley after pushing the car out of the way, and when the thug awoke, his dead partner was in the seat beside him.

Upon seeing this, he screamed and fainted.

The girls climbed aboard the Harley and rode off.

They knew they could not return to the hotel because it would be watched.

They rode in the darkness for a while before Margret, filled with dread, grief and guilt finally pulled over in another alley, parked under a street lamp, shut off the engine and slumped over the gas tank weeping.

Jacqueline heard her and sat there listening silently, not letting go of her waist.

Finally, the big girl got up, rose up off the seat and stepped off of the bike.

She flipped open the saddlebag nearest to her and pulled out two beers, popping their tops, handing one to Jacqueline who took it, and sniffed it, but just held it.

Margret drank the beer and began pacing around, kicking various pieces of trash.

As she emptied the bottle, she threw it down the alley where it finally broke against something in the dark.

As she returned, Jacqueline slid off the bike and handed her the already open bottle she had been holding, then sat down on the saddlebag its self.

“You know...” Margaret took a draw on the bottle, the hair of her wig falling in her face, “She's right you know,” turning her tear streaked face toward the child, “I'm just trailer trash, runnin from my momma's porch and my own bad reputation.” then with a half hearted chuckle, “Its funny, you know.,” looking up at the street lamp, eyes glistening from the tears, “Your momma said it best: I'm a bad recipe for trouble.”

Suddenly taking a deep breath and rising, she threw the empty beer bottle down the alleyway where it skid and spun out of sight, “Come on,” she reached her hand out to Jacqueline, “I gotta take you home.”

Jacqueline's eyes welled up with fresh tears, knowing that Margaret was taking her home for good. Forever. This would be the end. Everything up to this point would just shatter and collapse into a million tiny motes of dust and blow away like a beautiful dream.

If she got up from this alley, and rode home with all this blood on her tonight, everything she had ever hoped or dreamed of would end forever as she went through that front door.

Margaret might even go to jail.

“I'm not going” she said in her quiet, shaky voice, but at a unusually lower tone than anyone had ever heard from her before.

“What?” Margaret spun towards her hands splayed as if ready to fight, in shock that the ever compliant Bunny had refused.

“I'm not going home.” she virtually growled.

“But-” the stunned woman began to protest.

“I DON'T CARE!” the buxom little creature screamed out, tears streaming from her eyes, “I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING!!!” she leapt up, running into those wide open arms without hesitation, wrapping herself as tightly to the woman as she could, sniffling and sobbing, “but you!”

  Margaret was stunned.

This little prim, proper, well behaved child had stood up to everything and risked throwing it all away....for her!

  Ep 31, Chapter 3

Margret had palmed one of the coms from one of the dead men at the last battle, and had hoped Jacqueline would not notice.

They had to do something because there was a concerted manhunt out for them and there was no way they could simply live forever in alleys fleeing both the cops and the goons sent to collect Bunny.

It was clear that this Elaine person was one very powerful and crafty person with a lot of pull and a lot of connections.

They had somehow been ratted out, or the nurses had slipped up, it was impossible to know.

What she did know, was that time and technology gave the other side(s) the advantage.

She kept handing Jacqueline beers until the girl gave in and drank a few.

Then, as would be expected, the girl was too sleepy to remain awake and with the fatigue of the past days of running, fighting and worrying, she was deeply asleep in about an hour.

Carefully walking around the corner as morning traffic was filtering up and down the roads, she found an alcove where she hoped she could make this call easily enough, and dialed the one number she had managed to memorize in her life.

  Ep 31, Chapter 4

Julie awoke to her com jingling and as she pulled away from Tammy's side, she was still quite asleep.

  “Huh? Hello?” she asked.

“Jules. Save this phone number and get it to Janice, and have her get it to my parents! That's it, gotta go, good luck with the band!” and she broke connection.

“What? What? WAAAIT!!!” she screamed, waking Tammy from her sleep while she desperately tried redialing the number.

“Why you screaming Julie? And who was that on the phone just now?” she asked, hear pounding in alarm from Julie’s sudden scream.

“It was Margret!” she cried, realizing that she was not going to get Margret to pick the phone up no matter how long she let it ring, “She's out there on this phone number I just got!”

  Ep 31, Chapter 5

Margret waited four long, dismal, boring hours while the sun rose, it got annoyingly hot and eventually Jacqueline woke up.

She got the slightly groggy girl up on the bike and climbed aboard as well.

“May as well spend my last hours as a free woman in some place a little more comfortable,” she thought to herself, then out loud she said, “Lets go get some real rest. I don't figure those thugs will attack in the daylight.”

“Ummm....okay.” Jacqueline conceded and wrapped her arms around the big girl's waist as they started moving.

They pulled onto the street and rolled off back to the low class love hotel they had already paid for a week's usage of.

  Ep 31, Chapter 6

  “Hello?” Yan answered his com.

“Your daughter and Margret can be reached at this number.” Janice said, “Julie passed this along to me this morning.”

“Oh, Janice, thank you for the help in this matter!” he smiled as he spoke, turning to the family and giving a geeky looking thumbs-up sign, “We will act upon it immediately.”

Yan almost collapsed from relief even for this much good news.

“So this number here,” he had the number display on his laptop, “and global satellite tracking now.”

The earth appeared, then Japan, and so forth until it settled on the roof top of the seedy love hotel far across Japan, over two hundred kilometers to the north in the area of Morika.

“Way up there?” Yui leaned over and peered at the screen.

“Apparently they were considering making a run for it across the sea?” Yan proposed, “That's what I would have done.”

“It wouldn't be that hard to end up in Russian territory from there.” Grandmother Shunokoi said, “Pretty smart plan under the circumstances if you think about it.”

“Then why tell us where they are?” Yan asked.

“Because we're their parents perhaps?” Yui suggested.

“Well,” Yan shrugged, “They have been so secretive with things up until now...”

“Just deal with it dear,” Yui insisted, “You can ask them what it was all about later, okay?”

Sighing deeply, he agreed, “Yes, we have all the time in the world to ask them, once we have them home safely.”

  Ep 31, Chapter 7

When the knock came on the hotel door, Jacqueline cringed in fright, expecting it to be uniformed officers.

  Margret, wh
o also expected that, went to the door and peered through the peep hole.

What awaited them was SO not what they had been expecting!

Yan and Yui were there and the open door of the Limousine was being held by Anna.

As Margret opened the door dubiously, wondering what was going on, Anna had a big silly grin and Yui was smiling widely with wet tears on her face.

“You came to help us turn ourselves in?” she asked in total disbelief.

“No silly!” Yui said in a weepy tone, sniffling, “Come on and just get in!”

“What about the police?” Margret asked with a confused frown as Jacqueline came bouncing up behind her peering out, despite being able to see, sniffing the air with her adorably twitching little nose.

“MAMA! PAPA!” she cried and pushed Margret with both hands out the door.

“Whoa!” Margret called out as she stumbled forward, being caught by both Yan and Yui.

“We're all going home now!” Yan announced.

As they stepped into the Limo and Anna closed the door, Margret asked, “How did you pull all of THIS off?”

Yan recounted all of the events which had transpired over the past 2 weeks they had been on the run.

“The evidence was not officially endorsed of course, seeing as it would have to have come by a completely unbroken chain of officially sanctioned processes, such as a court appointed warrant to spy on the ring leader Elaine Richutti, a police lad doing the sound analysis of the evidence, a sworn testimony,” Yan rattled off, “but I had enough powerful people willing to back you up with their official pull to make it hold water.”

Then he recounted the conversation he had with Mr. Bodenheimer during the middle of the crisis:

“Yan old buddy,” the slightly rotund governor said, “Lets bury the ax here shall we?”

“I'm not your buddy but I'm listening.” Yan replied coolly.

“We need your company, and the city needs your daughter quite frankly.”

  “Why do you need Jacqueline?”

“The revenues, for one thing, and as a sign of tolerance, wholesome family values and a hope for youth here in this city.”

“Aren't you the governor of the entire state?”

“Who says all of California will not benefit?” he chuckled.

  “What are you proposing?”

“You endorse my re-election campaign, and I'll get your daughter's wife's case 'taken care of '.”

“Spell that out more precisely.” Yan said, “I don't like lingering deals.”

“Well,” he said, “For one election, I can get you a light sentence in self defense in a California correctional facility, for two elections, I can get her sentence commuted, and for three I can get her a pardon.”

“Hmmm....” Yan said, then looked to Grandmother Shunokoi, who pointed her finger at the sky indicating he raise the stakes, “How much you asking to make it go away with a public apology from the DA's office?”

The voice on the other side became slightly uncomfortable, “You sure ask a lot Mr. Shunokoi.”

“But you know,” Yan smiled as he replied, “I have a lot of what you want in return.”

  Ep 31, Chapter 8

Margret slept for two days straight without attempting to get out of bed when she got home.

When she did wake up, it was because Anna had a video chip to play.

“And on late breaking news, international mob ringleader and suspected human trafficker Elaine Richutti was taken into custody in her Monaco villa, where she was, according to police, 'caught in the act of sex' with her own minor daughter, whose name is being withheld...”

“HOLY SHIT!” Margret gasped, “THAT monster was after BUNNY?” she nearly flew out of the bed, but Anna gestured with one hand for her to relax and calm down.

“You will have plenty of time to get your revenge darling,” Anna said with a sly grin, “It was your wise thinking that led people to suspect!” Anna praised the rock star, “When you started pointing out suspicious things about her and her daughter, I went and dug up her files through Interpol and other agencies including the FSB.

“Also, your agent, she went way far out on the branches for you to get some very crucial information.

“She has this international gang and even has people in the police and courts. Seems the man who filed your arrest warrant was little brother to the thug you killed the first night, and the coroner was also on her payroll.”

“Wow....fuck...” she marveled, “So is Bunny safe now?”

“Who knows?” Anna shrugged, “For now she is, and from now on, she is taking home schooling, so there is no more problems of her needing away from you and she can be any place she wants to be because she is future head of household with this marriage things.”

“Where is she now?” Margret asked, “downstairs helping me cook.”

“You have her COOKING?” Margret gasped, “A BLIND girl?”

“She's really quite good at it actually,” Anna said, “Seems to take to home life very natural like. Just you wait and see!” she winked and then said, “You get more rest now, I go return helping her and you and that baby get all well!”

  Ep 31, Chapter 9

  A Diary Prologue

  “Dear Diary,

We continued to do live shows during the summer, but in the fall, as I was beginning to show, I decided to lay off performing at least until after the baby arrived.

I began following Yan and Yui around, learning the complex ins and outs of the business, and they took on a totally unexpected business student apprentice.

The now eighth grade and very humble Angela Bodenheimer was signed on as an apprentice intern working on a business major.

During the hiatus, Julie and Tammy did a little part time act, went on tour and came back from Amsterdam married.

Rachel stopped shaving the sides of her head after having all the tattoos removed by laser, quit smoking, got her teeth bleached, and Janice got her some modeling work.

When Rachel and Lily saw Julie and Tammy come back married, they decided to make a go of it. They've been a couple since.

Yan somehow finally managed to get Yui pregnant again, they've been gloving like newlyweds ever since.

Jacqueline is looking forward to a sibling, and a playmate for Angellica, who, as no surprise to the family, came out pretty nearly female...over all.

Recently when she was questioned by a lowbrow television reporter while we were leaving a live concert which I was forced to sit out on, as to if the rumors were true that she had a penis, her response shocked the news reporter when she began a very gyrating dance, singing, “Don't you wish your girlfriend had a COCK like me!” then with a wink and a blown kiss, slipping into our limousine while Anna pushed the camera away and closed the door.

Elaine Richutti got life without parole, five hundred and seventy seven convictions ranging from racketeering, to murder, conspiracy to commit murder, money laundering, child pornography, statutory rape, human trafficking, bribing officials, kidnapping, using fictitious names, I can't even begin to remember them all!

And...well....[blushing and giggling as I write this,] I guess I'm not surprised at Jacqueline's voracious appetite, I'm pregnant again, with triplets they say, and its dubious if the band will even be around much longer, with everybody finding new ways to go, but hey: for a girl who ran away from the wrong side of the tracks, I think being here with all this Bunny-love, I think I'm just about on top of the world!”
