I suddenly became aware that a cloud had appeared; and in the short time I was standing by the window, the outline of a complete angel formed, with large rounded wings on each side of a delicate body wearing a flowing gown, and footlike clouds that hung below the gown! It was a most comforting sight for me, and I felt momentarily at peace. I had a sense that my son, who probably feels for me, was trying to relay that he is with the angels and that they are taking good care of him in heaven.
A SIGN FROM UNCLE FRANK
by Angie Chiste
Frank, my uncle, died in 1984, and my son was born in 1991. My son has had a longtime fascination with his deceased great-uncle. When he was about four years old, he would tell me how Uncle Frank would come to him at the playground at his day-care center and push him on the swing or talk to him.
I decided to give my son a little test. He had never seen a photo of Uncle Frank. I showed him pictures of all my other uncles first; then I showed him one of Uncle Frank … and my son knew exactly who he was! I thought he must have a special bond of some sort with him.
When my son entered first grade in 1996, we would drive past the cemetery on our way to and from school each day. He would ask me questions about Uncle Frank, and then one day he told me that he wanted to visit his grave. I asked my mother where he was buried, and she could only give me the name of that corner in the cemetery.
One day I picked my son up from school and we headed to the cemetery. We walked up and down among the headstones, looking for my uncle. It was a cool fall day and very still. After about 45 minutes of searching, my son started to whine; he was getting hungry. I was losing my patience. We were both growing tired and cranky. I finally looked up to the sky and said, “Sorry, Uncle Frank, I just can’t find you today. We’ll come back another day.”
Just then, a huge gust of wind stirred the leaves behind me, which caused me to turn around. The moment I turned, the wind stopped. I looked down and there was my uncle’s grave. Right at my feet!
THE MESSAGE FROM THE ROSE PETALS
by Bonnie Suzanne Koester
I was having some difficulty at a small college where I worked. There was a lot of politics among the employees, including my boss, and things got so bad that I considered quitting my job. I prayed for guidance.
As was my routine, one morning I went to the convenience store next to the college for breakfast. On this particular day, I found some red rose petals lying on the grass between the campus and the store. I picked one up and smiled, inwardly asking, Is this from my angels? But then I concluded that someone must have thrown the petals there. I took one back to my office and placed it on the base of my lamp.
The next morning I came in, and the petal had shriveled. I went to the store, and there on the grass in the same place were fresh pink rose petals. There was no sign of the red ones. I furrowed my brow and thought, How could I have missed these yesterday, and who is doing this? And why would someone be throwing rose petals on the ground? I was trying my best to think of a logical explanation.
I picked up one of the pink petals, and as I walked across the parking lot, returning to my office, I smelled the scent of roses so strongly that it made my eyes widen. I thought, A single petal would not give off this scent. I raised my hand to my nose and smelled the petal. I smelled nothing but the scent of my hand. I took it away, and again there was that strong smell of roses!
Pasadena, Texas, where I live and work, has oil refineries. The air here never smells like roses. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that these were signs from my angels.
I took this petal and placed it alongside the withered red one. The next day, the pink had withered as well. I returned once again to the spot … and there I found both red and pink petals, and they were fresh. With a smile, I said, “Okay, okay, I’ll tough it out. I’ll stay here a bit longer. Thank you. You guys are too much!”
The angels were right—I now have a new position at the college and have almost doubled my income. And I still have the petals.
A SIGN OF PROTECTION
by Micci Debonis
My mother, Katherine, had just purchased a new car, so for good luck, I gave her an angel clip that went on the sun visor.
On this particular day, my mother was watching my six-month-old daughter while I was at work. While on an outing in Mom’s new car, they stopped for gasoline.
They were waiting in line at the gas pumps, and my daughter was making a fuss in the backseat. My mother turned around to see what the problem was and noticed that my daughter needed her bottle, so she turned to get it. Right then, she saw a car coming straight toward her! The man hit the front of Mom’s car, completely totaling it. The air bag deployed, and luckily she wasn’t hurt and neither was my baby.
After the police reports were completed, Mom went back to the car and noticed that the angel clip was missing from the visor. Looking all over the car, she finally found the clip: it had landed in the backseat where my daughter was in her car seat. I truly believe that angels played a part in assuring the safety of my mother and daughter. The police officer said that if my mother had been a couple of feet closer to the gas tanks, the outcome would not have been very good.
There were angels around my mother and daughter during that ordeal, and Mom and I thank them every day.
A CALL FROM MY ANGEL
by Suzanne Goodnough
My husband and I attended Doreen’s seminar at the Whole Life Expo in Chicago in October of 1999. At one point during the seminar, Doreen took everyone in the audience through a meditation, where we asked the guardian angel on our left to say his/her name to us. Then we proceeded with the guardian angel on the right. She instructed us not to judge what we heard and not to let our egos get in the way.
Doreen told us that if we didn’t believe what we heard, then we should ask for a sign of validation from the particular angel and wait to see what happens. After the seminar, I asked my husband if he had gotten any names. He said, “Yes, the names Michael and Philip. Did you hear any?”
“Yes,” I replied. “The angel on the right said her name was Grace.” I loved it—the name was so spiritual and angelic that I never questioned it. But the angel on the left had said his name was Maurice. In my mind, I said, Maurice! What a stupid name for an angel! It made me think of Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees, and I imagined a Saturday Night Fever disco angel, with a strobe light, white suit, and the works. I thought, This can’t be! I don’t want a disco angel!
That night during my evening prayers and meditation, I asked the angels for a sign. I said, Please give me a sign that I just didn’t make up the name Maurice. The next morning at 8 o’clock, the telephone rang. We were still sleepy, so I didn’t answer, and the answering machine picked up the message.
When I retrieved the message, a male voice said, “I am looking to speak with Suzanne Goodnough. My name is Maurice. If you call this number and ask for this extension, I will be able to help you with your problem and get it all cleared up in two minutes. Looking forward to hearing from you.” I saved the message so that my husband could listen to it.
I said to my husband, “Out of all the male names, can you believe this man’s is Maurice?” I returned the call shortly after and asked for the extension the man had given in the message. A woman answered the phone. I told her who I was and asked to speak to Maurice.
She said, “My dear, I don’t know who you talked to, but there is no one by the name of Maurice who works here.” After that, I believed that my angel’s name is Maurice.
(Author’s note: I was editing this story while on a Eurostar train, and twice, after this story was complete, I looked up to see the name Maurice on a building sign!)
A SIGN FROM THE BLESSED MOTHER
by Antoinette Voll
My mom, age 66, was having a hard time breathing whenever she climbed stairs or walked up hills. It got to the point where it was getting more and more difficult. Since I had lost my dad just 18 months earlier, we were all walking on eggshells. Me
dical tests were finally conducted, showing that she had two coronary blockages. Our family doctor referred my mom to a hospital where they could perform an exploratory procedure to see the extent of the blockage.
One week before my mom’s appointment, I started praying earnestly to the Blessed Mother. I would talk to her picture and pray that she either make the blockages disappear or please give me strength to handle this next crisis. So when my mother went to the hospital that morning, her sister stayed with me, and we prayed.
When the procedure was over, the doctor at the hospital asked why my mother was having this test. The exploratory procedure showed that her arteries were in perfect condition, with no blockage whatsoever. I told him to ask our family doctor. When our family doctor came down, they all had the strangest looks. There was no logical answer.
As the attendants were wheeling my mother down to the hospital ward, they found out that all the beds were taken and they had to put her at the nurses’ station. As they parked her near the window of the station, right above her head was the same picture of the Blessed Mother that I had prayed to all week. Did my spirits ever soar! It was the most amazing feeling. We truly witnessed a miracle, and the Blessed Mother showed me her picture to reassure me that she had intervened!
DANIEL
by Charmaine Jabr
My 44-year-old brother, Daniel, passed away from liver illness. He had abused drugs and alcohol all of his adult life, and as a result, made some terrible mistakes that affected many people. I loved him just the same, and always wondered what happened to his soul when he died.
It was around the time of his birthday, and Elton John’s song “Daniel” was on the car radio. Hearing my brother’s name in the song’s lyrics brought me to tears. I begged God to give me a sign to let me know what happened to Dan’s soul. Well, just then, a pickup truck pulled up in front of me and had the most awesome mural painted on it. On the left side of the tailgate was a dark, stormy, dreary-looking scene; and on the right side was Jesus floating up in the clouds into heaven. Then I read the license plate frame; it said: JESUS WON.
From that day on, the immense grief I felt over the loss of my brother was lifted. His childhood was filled with so much pain that the odds were against him from the start. He suffered terribly in this life, yet he had such spirit and charm that he could only be somewhere better. Now I know that for sure.
HEALING ANGEL
by Lily Alexandrovitch
On February 21, 1996, my cousin Cindy; her husband, Michael; my brother; and I went to the Ethel M chocolate factory in Las Vegas, Nevada. It had been raining all day and was still drizzling when we went into the factory. After purchasing chocolates, the three of them wanted to tour the grounds, while I went to sit in the car, since it was chilly outside. All the other cars and tour buses had left. Although the sky above was still thick with dark clouds, it had stopped raining. Sitting in the backseat, I looked out the side window on my right and noticed a beautiful, majestic mountain range that extended from behind the building on the left to behind the chocolate factory on the right.
The mountains were dark gray and purplish. The sky above them was light blue, although above the car it was still hidden behind dark clouds. It looked as though the sun had just set behind the mountains, and the entire ridge had a white glow above it. I couldn’t help thinking how unusual it was, and that I had never seen anything like it. If anyone had painted an exact picture of the scene, everyone would say it was all wrong. I must have stared at this beautiful mountain for at least 20 minutes. Then my friends returned to the car.
I never said anything; I just continued looking at the mountains, since I was so mesmerized by them. No one spoke a word; we all just sat there and stared at them. Then Michael said, “If anyone painted a picture of the mountains looking like that, they would be told they had it all wrong, as it’s too bright to be real”—my exact thoughts! We were all quiet and just kept looking. Around the middle of our view, the mountain range dipped down and then upward, forming a large V. The sky behind the V was now also pale blue. Although I had never taken my eyes away, I now saw two glowing rays that looked like gigantic spotlights coming from behind the V in the mountain, up toward the sky.
Then right in the middle of these two rays, a white speck appeared. The speck quickly got bigger, and it now looked like a cloud, except that it was exceptionally bright. The cloud then started to take shape, first resembling a person, and then with wings on either side of it. It was an angel—a huge angel with large wings! The angel was turned slightly to the right. I suddenly thought that maybe I was the only one witnessing this incredible sight, and without taking my eyes off it, I said, “I see an angel.”
“It sure looks like an angel,” said Michael. We sat in awe, just staring.
Remembering that Cindy had never had any religious training, I asked what she saw. Nervously laughing, she said, “I see an angel.”
A few seconds later, the angel quickly shrank into a dot and then vanished into the pale blue sky where it had originated. What a memorable experience!
A TINY MIRACLE
by Cammi Collier
My husband and I went to Sedona, Arizona, Christmas week. We were taking a walk one night, and the moon was brilliant and comforting. However, I was cold, and my nose was running! I said to my husband, “I know this angel stuff works when I’m alone. Let’s see if it works with you here, too!”
I said a prayer for a tissue to blow my nose. I’ve learned that no request is too trivial for the angels. Right away, I heard the angels tell me to look toward the right side of the road. Sure enough, about three feet ahead of us on the right were two clean facial tissues. Although I believe in miracles, I am still thrilled when I witness them. The tissues were new, thick, and soft, with a lotion scent.
I thanked the angels for their love and generosity. It’s comforting to know that they can even take care of runny noses!
AN ABUNDANT SIGN
by Elles Taddeo
Several years ago, my husband had some frightening physical symptoms, and we were very concerned that his condition might be serious. He was scheduled to go to the doctor and have some medical tests performed. One afternoon when I was at the park with my son, I felt especially worried about my husband’s health. I asked my guardian angel to let me know if everything would be okay.
I said to the angels, “Please let me find a four-leaf clover as a sign that things are fine with my husband.” I sat down in the grass with my son, looked down, and there was my four-leaf clover! I picked it and happily showed it to my son. Then I looked down again at the same spot and saw another four-leaf clover. Delighted, I picked it up and remarked how unusual this was. I pointed to the spot where it came from to show my son, and we saw another one! And another, and another! I picked a total of 27 four-leaf clovers from the same little patch of grass! The next day, I found five more in my own backyard! I dried them all and still have them.
The angels must have thought something like, Okay, you want a four-leaf clover, you’ll get four-leaf clovers! Although I later tried to find my magic patch again, I never could. Needless to say, all my husband’s tests went fine, and there was nothing wrong with him.
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK
by Reta
It had been a really busy day. I had an interview for a position that I truly felt was mine, but there were some obstacles that would have to be overcome along the way. I took a vacation day, had a midmorning massage, came home, and prepared for the series of interviews to follow.
That evening, I had considerable trouble calming down. I knew that the next day would be truly grueling, complete with a nearly four-hour drive, two morning meetings, followed by another almost four hours on the road for a late-afternoon meeting, and another 90-minute drive back home. About the time I was giving up on falling asleep, I decided to visit Doreen’s website.
I’ll never forget this visit to www.AngelTherapy.com. I read an article Doreen wrote called “You Are Surrounde
d by Angels.” I needed that reinforcement. I reread it and felt my composure return. As I walked away from my computer and went into my living room on my way to bed, I thought, In some way, I have experienced every one of the angel manifestations Doreen spoke of, but I don’t remember finding any unexplained feathers. That would be a really awesome experience!
The next morning came quickly. On my way out of town, I went to my office to write a thank-you note to the interviewers and pick up the files I would need that day. As I left, I was so confident that I locked the door without a second glance. A stop at the restroom was appropriate due to the length of the drive ahead. As I turned on the bathroom light, I noticed that there was something on my skirt. I was quite annoyed, because returning home and changing was going to cost about an hour. I tried to brush off whatever it was … and stopped in my tracks—I realized that I was looking at feathers on my skirt!
Of course, this made me feel cared for and loved and supported. I had gotten my angel feathers, and all I had to do was ask.
