Finally, they built within each biopod a series of condensed laboratory and nano-particle nodes that were integrated with every aspect of the physiological and neurological systems and transposed and delivered through the very light electrical pulses to afford integration with the Virtual Universe. Once an individual was to enter the biopod, they could, via verbal command enter this virtual location. Based on their prescribed settings, or at any point determined while in it, they would be able to leave the Virtual Universe and then the biopod. Once they did, they would continue to have nanos working within their cells at every level and in every possible way to heal their physiology and neurology in every aspect, and answer to the mind’s bidding, with clarity of purpose of preserving life, increasing the quality of life, and acting on the virtues of kindness, wisdom, excellence, and solution resolution.
It was time to test these biopods, but before actually entering the Virtual Universe, Eliza and Yesha decided that it would be wise to primarily use these biopods on themselves, as the first part of a two-step process. Initially, they would climb into their biopods without interfacing with the Virtual Universe but receive the delivery of an initial optimization of their physiology and neurology, in every possible way. Following that, and while in the real world, they would one hundred percent everything about the Virtual Universe, so they could then explore it for all that it was worth. This way, no matter the political, physical, or societal fall-out, or the acceptance or rejection of their inventions, one thing would hold true, they would, in fact, be living examples of optimized and capable humans. Doing this would give them the means to operate in the pace and stride necessary and be intellectually capable of taking proper courses of action to prevent losing the technology, should it be rejected by the associated authorities. They kept their biopods in a special and highly-secured room, within the basement of Eliza’s estate home, located below their bedrooms, accessible via a stairway just outside their bedroom doors.
Chapter 09: Eliza Williams, Section 6
On Friday, December 14, 2007, a week before introducing this completed technology to Harvard, MIT, and appropriate governmental authorities, to include the FDA, they went on a winter walk with gloves, coats, scarves, thermal underclothes, and layered socks to discuss the final the parameters of their last effort to program their initial entrance into the biopods, and then their second entrance to receive the Virtual Universe experience.
After walking, talking, returning home, and putting out a kerosene heater close enough to warm their feet yet far enough away for safety, they laid down their blankets, their sleeping bags, and climbed into them. They followed that up by getting up, grabbing more linen and piling on a few more blankets, which were nearby. After some more talk, they ended the night as they typically did, calming their nerves by singing along with Dave and Martin of Depeche Mode, playing on their outdoor garden entertainment system, while looking at the statue of the angel overlooking their would-be frozen pond, warmed beneath for the benefit of the frogs and coy fish, and then they looked up at the stars, between their clouds of breath as the mist rose into the sky, then froze and dissipated. They then continued talked back and forth for a while.
Prior to their first entry into their biopod, they agreed to build a programmed welcoming matrix that they could use for neurological interfacing. They would create and provide an initial environment from which to begin in, once an individual’s mind had linked to the experiential reality of the Virtual Universe. They talked about this for several hours, before falling asleep.
When they awoke the next morning, they immediately got to work on what they had discussed the night before. Eliza suggested that they could always adjust the entry program, improve upon it more, or integrate further ideas as time went by, as necessary, or as any other improvements came to mind, and Yesha was one-hundred percent in favor of the plan.
They programmed the mainframe’s biopod-interface to the Virtual Universe, solely for a preliminary design, set both their biopods for optimizations only, and connected the mainframe to their biopods. Eliza climbed into one, Yesha climbed into the other, the third biopod lie unused, but simultaneously they laid on their backs, pulled the biopod covers down, and closed their eyes. “This should only take two seconds,” Eliza said, muffled, and then she grew quiet.
Two seconds passed, and it was as if nothing had happened.
They opened their eyes thinking perhaps they forgot to flip a switch or plug something in and stepped out of their biopods. It wasn’t until they saw each other morph and glow that they knew they had been successful in more ways than they had predicted. It was a magnificent sight. Along with what they saw, they felt an almost euphoric sense within. It was as if every single cell, organism, and neuron tingled inside and in a way that caused their bodies to shake and quiver. As they realized this, something within them caused them to laugh. Laughing at each other while they felt all of their senses peek and everything from their hairstyles to their clothing, and musculature change, they learned quickly that they had to train themselves to control it all. Their sight, how their bodies expressed what their right minds were thinking in terms of artistic expression throughout, and in particular on the left side of their bodies, with tattoos that weren’t tattoos, yet were real, artistic, mural-like, mandala-like patterns that swirled, changed colors, shapes, and sizes, and vacillated based on one thought or another, and caused them to laugh even more. Their hair did crazy things until they learned how to control that too. Once they were able to harness the basic aspects of their new and not-so-basic powers as well as their neurological compartmentalization capabilities, they stabilized their own appearance to allow them to look normal, and even professional and beautiful, with phenomenally-designed hairstyles and make-up design that complemented it all, coaching each other every step of the way.
Once they learned the basics of their new abilities they all of a sudden felt sober and with an advanced clarity of mind on every aspect of everything they had worked on, and even ideas of what they had worked on that might improve the whole process and make it less odd that they had never thought was possible before. They loved embracing this new and shared sense of collective thought, and through that, they worked together to develop and encode commands that did just that. They also set it up so that once within their biopods, the interface would allow them to link their minds to the Virtual Universe with a fail-safe, such that the biopod would send a signal if necessary to exit for any urgent reason. They made sure there was always an expression they could use to pull one’s self out of the virtual environment if needed and their new keywords were simple, “Exit Link.” They then, that same day, entered their biopods the second time.
This time, they climbed in after setting up a time-dilation sequence using a variety of new physics laws they had developed during the brief moments after their initial optimization run in the biopods. The sequence would work in this way: if they issued the command, “Link 1, 2, 3. Five minutes, two years,” or the preferred real world to Virtual Universe time dilation ratio, they would immediately be interfaced mind-to-mind-to-Virtual Universe for the time they had chosen.
With this particular command and time-setting, quite simply, in five minutes, they would experience two years’ worth of life. Through this experience, they discovered that as planned, an individual could both receive and transmit from multiregional connections within various cortices and lobes of the mind and within the Virtual Universe for sensory and muscle memory feedback leading to a real world-like experience. Effectively, a person could learn while in the Virtual Universe, travel the World or Universe, based on every bit of information ever digitized, program anything down to the particle level, and retain the memories and learned abilities via an interface with the biopod. They could also reread and transfer necessary data to and from the Real-World computer interface to a mainframe partition that was accessible in both the Virtual Universe and the real world. Each of their Virtual Universe experiences would be as if it were a re
al part of life. The only difference between the Virtual Universe and Real-World experiences, was that Virtual Universe experiences were wrought with immense clarity and comprehension, as well as a unique flavor of thought that clearly differentiated their thoughts from the thoughts of others. With their physiology and neurology optimized, Eliza and Yesha were about to conceive of the inconceivable, a future of wonder, amazement, and promise about to be born.
It was in the Virtual Universe where together, Eliza and Yesha, the first known humans on Earth, would enter for the very first time, around noon, on the December 15, 2007. While in their biopods, they would do more than link their minds to the computer mainframe, their nanos would be infused yet again with more upgrades enabling them to carry out programming, digital planning, create intricate blueprints, and conduct individual as well as collective training based on shared memory. During their first entry into their biopods, Eliza and Yesha had taken advantage of setting their physiological age parameters to twenty-two. In this way, their physiological health was that of healthy, physically fit, and very attractive versions of their twenty-two-year-old selves.
The development of their minds in the Virtual Universe, however, would theoretically mean that over time their “wisdom age” would accrue based on virtual years spent within the interface multiplying and compounding exponentially. To assist with this reality and outcome, they set up robust recall, backup, and immediate access functionality systems within the mainframe and within their neural construct to reduce any informational dissonance. They were aware that both of them would eventually and in all actuality have minds trillions of years old or more after a few years of use of their new technology. So, they designed their neuro-nanos to help keep their knowledge accessible, clear, and available at any moment in time.
They arranged their entry ambiance to the Virtual Universe such that an individual would find themselves in a location resembling a well-lit version of Eliza’s estate backyard, with the statue of an angel overlooking the coy fish pond, and a lovely view of the stars under a nighttime sky. Once they were sufficiently oriented as to their environment, an individual or group of individuals could develop a variety of other starting and returning points, intended for later use, and travel to any place they wished, based on the Real Universe as received by powerful sensors.
“Are you ready for our second round?”
“I’m as ready as I’ll ever be!” said Yesha.
In unison, and for the first time, telepathically, Eliza uttered, “Link 1, 2, 3, 5 Minutes, 20 Years.” While Yesha did so out-loud.
Like that, they felt every single one of their cells, their neurons, and their genetic fabric twist and contort, and then with a sense of euphoria, every bit of pain was released completely and changed into something so painless and altogether completely enjoyable that it was difficult to describe in words.
Eliza opened her eyes, and there she was, in her backyard, but a very realistic and quite heavenly-seeming version of it. She looked around, and everything was there, down to the atoms and molecules, and even the smallest particles. She zoomed out, looked up, and saw the Moon, so close that she could have easily assumed it was part of the backyard. She then pulled her mind back to where she seemed to be at that moment, which was in her backyard, and she saw Yesha. She looked more beautifully extravagant than ever before, and she had indeed been quite extravagantly gorgeous quite regularly, but this was beyond description. She combed her mind and realized that she could all of a sudden perceive of thoughts and memories that were not her own. She was perceiving Yesha’s memories, thoughts, knowledge, experiences, and so much more. “Wow, Yesha! This is amazing!”
“Did you feel that, Eliza? It felt like I was about to burst into trillions of atoms, and then like that, I felt at peace and euphoric. It was almost an ecstasy of sorts. This is beautiful, you’re, oh my, you’re so beautiful, Eliza! I wish I could show you what I am seeing! You look like an angel!”
“Thank you, and so do you!” Eliza responded.
They then took advantage of their Virtual Universe and began to consider all of their possibilities at this juncture. They would only be in the biopod, at least as perceived in the real world, for five minutes but with the advantages of the Virtual Universe’s time dilation ratio. In this way, at least in this particular instance, they would actually gain the experiences equivalent to those received after twenty years. “We’re going to be here for twenty years, Eliza! You know? Now that we’re here, wow, that’s actually quite a long time. The funniest part about that, though, is that I am actually not bothered by it anymore! There’s so much to do, so much to learn, and so much to understand! This is amazing. Say, I heard and felt you in my mind, when we linked! How did you do that, Eliza?”
Eliza then taught Yesha how to talk telepathically and navigate through the permissive environments of another’s mind, engaging the correct regions and cortices of the brain and of every kind. After spending some time training on various other capabilities and skills that she had set up for access and training for within the Virtual Universe, they took advantage of the added time there to develop and use high-tech equipment that they could create within the estate, they developed blueprints and models of the infrastructure they wanted to build, and they gained much more control over their capabilities. Finally, they realized that they could take control of individual particles, both baryonic and non-baryonic. They also realized that in this state, they could peer and even journey hundreds to thousands of miles below the Earth’s surface.
Eliza looked to Yesha, and Yesha looked back at Eliza, and then they decided to let their virtual bodies flow with their thoughts. As they did, they dove as if they were dark and wingless angels in form-fitting and very attractive, black, and exquisite travel uniforms, below the Earth’s crust. They could see and understand all of the intricate and magnanimous details of the upper and lower mantle, the outer and inner core, the divergent, convergent, and transform boundaries, and even some of the areas of the Earth’s previously unexplored layers engaged in subduction. As they traveled from the crust, where they examined each layer beneath it, all the way down to about 3960 miles (or 6373 kilometers) from the surface of the Earth to the Earth’s core, they witnessed, far from merely the effects of fusion, all of its splendor. There it was, right before them, the bright and glowing whites and yellows flowing as waves crashing to shore and pulled back. They witnessed all of this without suffering from the effects of heat, or noxious smells or fumes, or pressure due to their manner of travel, and they realized with glee that they finally and completely understood how fusion worked.
Prior to entering the Virtual Universe, they had encoded the possibilities of integrating holographic informational interfaces in front of their virtual eyes to allow them to see highly accurate digital readouts of anything they were to look at. In this case, they were able to see minerals and gases as they formed, their mass, their velocity of motion in every wavelength, how plasma from heat condensed due to massive gravitational pull, every aspect of its physics applied before their very eyes, electromagnetic influence, and then as ions collided with other particles forming all of the various elements on the periodic table. They understood and comprehended in depth everything to include the density, mass, motion, and tectonics of the Earth. They could see where every particle went, where fusion began in the Earth’s core, and where fission would take over as these molten materials traveled from the center, and out like an advancing bubble, expanding, popping, bringing more material in until there was sufficient material and pressure to release this build-up of magma through new and old volcanoes that were readying to burst, and all with a very accurate estimate as to when. They could see new islands readying to be born and places awaiting devastation.
Understanding how fusion and fission worked, they knew that there was a lot they needed to consider and do something about soon, because one of their favorite parks, Yosemite, had limited amounts of time before it would blow, destroying every ecosystem o
n Earth’s thin crust within a five-hundred-mile (or 805 kilometer) radius. Eliza looked to Yesha, and Yesha looked to Eliza, and Yesha then spoke up, “We need to find a way to tame the churn of material lending to Earth’s fusion and fission, so we can diffuse the dangers as needed, maintain the core’s activity, Earth’s life-sustaining integrity, cause very minimal to no damage, and while doing so provide humanity with the resources necessary to help raise the quality of life!”
“You read my mind,” exclaimed, Eliza.
“Yeah, your mind was the one that thought of it first!” chuckled Yesha, having seen her thoughts on display in a holographic-like image before her, strategically placed so as to not interfere with the essential parts of her field of view. They took notes, drew up highly detailed plans for protecting the integrity of the Earth’s necessary processes while ensuring fusion and fission could occur in a manner that was no longer devastating to life. After which, they soared up through the Earth’s crust and climbed into the atmosphere. Their garments changed from dark to light, as if in flowing robes. Once there, they talked while looking at the Earth below.
“It’s great to be linked,” responded Eliza, laughing along with Yesha’s wit, “seriously, it is. You have ways of seeing things that indicate to me that you are truly a visionary. You know me now, and I know you. You are of a beautiful mind, Yesha! Don’t ever underestimate yourself.
