I sigh as he nuzzles my neck and my heart begins to race.
His other hand curves over my bottom before moving up to press down on my lower back, causing me to bend over the dresser in front of him.
I finally open my eyes. His blue eyes stare back at me as I watch our reflection in the mirror.
It was so primal...so intoxicating. I couldn't turn away.
He reaches for a condom as he lowers his pants to the ground.
I feel the firm head of his cock as he coats himself in my juices.
He moves his tip teasingly along my slit as I cry out in pleasure.
I need this.
I narrow my eyes at him in the mirror.
“Fuck me hard Tristan...now,” I growl, surprising myself with my sense of urgency.
He unleashes something inside me...something I can't ignore around him. Something I don't want to ignore.
A cocky smile spreads across his lips as he smacks my behind.
“On one condition,” he says as his hands slide up to grab my hips.
“Anything,” I breathe, as he begins to enter me.
“Don't you dare close your eyes Dev,” he grunts as he crashes into me.
I moan as I watch him take me from behind. His movements so skillful and primitive.
He groans as my slickness dribbles down his balls as he continues hammering into me.
Every thrust of his brings me closer to the finish line. I exhale his name as I feel the first stirrings of my orgasm.
He pumps into me again and my body quakes. “That's it baby...come all over my cock.”
His words send me over the edge. I claw at the dresser as I fasten my walls around him and we both find our release.
His eyes connect with mine in the mirror. “Do you see now how we were made for one another?”
I nod as a tear runs down my cheek.
I've never felt anything more electric in my entire life.
I've never felt anything like this before...period.
Chapter 17 (Past)
“Come on Devonna let's go,” my case worker said, as she grabbed my suitcase.
“I don't want to. Why can't I just live on my own? I turned 16 a week ago. I can take care of myself,” I screamed, as I stomped my foot on the ground.
“No, you can't. Look, I'm sorry that Mrs. Tompkins has fallen ill. I know she provided a nice home for you. Unfortunately, her prolonged hospital stay means that she won't able to take care of you anymore. I found you a different home. They even have another foster child who lives there. It's in Arizona, you like the warm weather right? Mrs. Potts is a very nice woman. She'll be good to you.”
**********************
We drove for hours and I tried not to break down. I never even had a chance to say goodbye to Mrs. Tompkins. She's all I've ever known and now I was being ripped away from her.
I would have taken care of her. After all the woman has done for me, I would be more then happy to.
This wasn't fair.
What the hell did I do to deserve this?
I glared at my case worker as she changed the dial on the radio station.
I knew exactly what I could ask that would get a rise out of her.
Maybe for once she would actually tell me the truth.
“Why can't I live with my parents?” I said, as I watched her tap the steering wheel with her lavender nails.
“You already know the answer to that Devonna.”
God, how I hated my stupid name.
“My name is Dev. I hate the name Devonna. I think I should be allowed to change my name...especially given the fact that they didn't want me in the first place."
She sighed in frustration and veered over to the side of the road.
“Look kid. I know how hard it must be. I know you wish you had answers...I get it. I know life is hard, but trust me when I say that everything happens for a reason. You have a chance at a good life. You only have two more years left and you're on your own. Try and make the best out of it.”
I leaned my head against my seat and closed my eyes.
She was right. In two more years I would be on my own.
*********************
We pulled up to a blue house with white shutters. It had a wrap around porch and a swing.
It looked like something out of a storybook.
I got my suitcase out of the trunk and walked up the steps.
“Mrs. Potts, this here is Devonna.”
I looked up as a woman with gray hair wearing an apron gave me a friendly smile.
“It's Dev,” I said, as I held out my hand to her.
“Well hello Dev. My aren't you a pretty girl. Follow me, I'll show you to your room,” she said, as she took my hand and led me up the staircase.
“I hope you like pink,” she added, as she opened the door to my new room.
It looked like pepto-bismol threw up.
I faked a smile as I put my suitcase on the bed.
“Now dinner is at 6pm. You will be expected to help out with chores around here. I want you to focus on your school work, but I don't mind if you socialize. Your curfew will be 9pm on the weekends,” she said nervously.
All in all it could be worse.
“Okay, that won't be a problem.”
“Devonna is a delightful teenager. She always follows the rules and helps out. She won't be a problem, I promise,” my caseworker said, as Mrs. Potts smiled.
“Okay kid. I have to go now, but I'll be back to check on you soon. Be good and take care,” she said before she turned around and left.
Ha...see you in another year.
“The bathroom is down the hall. Mr. Potts passed away a few years ago, so it's just me and Alexandro here...” she started to say before a voice cut her off.
“The name is Alex.”
I turned around and faced the cutest boy I had ever seen in my life.
He had dark brown hair and ebony eyes with flecks of gold. My eyes drop down and I notice that his chin has a little dimple that makes my heart flicker.
He smiled at me and I couldn't help but smile back.
“I'll leave you two to get antiquated. Dinner will be ready in a half hour,” Mrs. Potts said as she gave us a smile and turned around.
He rubbed his chin and pursed his lips before he spoke. “How old are you?”
“I turned 16 last week. You?”
“I'm 17. I'll be 18 in three months.”
“Lucky,” I sighed.
“Come on let's go for a walk,” he said, as he reached for my hand.
I closed my eyes as a rush of heat came over me.
So this must be what all those stupid love songs are talking about?
I've never felt anything like this before.
Mrs. Tompkins was really strict about me not socializing or having boyfriends.
She even insisted that she home school me.
I never protested because she took such good care of me. I never had to want for anything.
She was always there for me. Which is a hell of a lot more then I can say for the two people who were supposed to be.
We walked outside and he led me to the back of the house.
He let go of my hand and reached inside his pocket.
He pulled out a cigarette and a lighter.
“Want one?” he asked, as he put the lighter to the end of the cigarette.
“No thanks. I don't smoke. You know, you shouldn't either. It's bad for you,” I said, looking down at the ground.
He rolled his eyes as he took a drag.
“So is being a product of the system bonita, but there ain't shit we can do about that now is there?” he said with a smile.
“What did you just call me?”
“Bonita. It's Spanish.”
“What does it mean?”
“Pretty,” he said as he took another drag off his cigarette and licked his lips.
“You think I'm pretty?” I asked nervously.
“No.”
W
ow, this asshole really had me going.
“Gotcha,” I said, as I turned around.
He reached for my hand.
“I think you're beautiful,” he said as he pulled me back to him.
That's when I started coughing.
“Sorry. I'm not used to the smoke.”
“It's all good Bonita. Let's go inside. I think Mrs. Potts made meatloaf tonight. She's pretty cool. A little overbearing, but better then the other 12 foster families I've had."
I stared at him wide-eyed.
“You've been through 12 different families?”
He looked uncomfortable then.
“Yeah. I'm a little rough around the edges. Apparently...I'm a trouble maker. I'm just trying to figure out who I am though, ya know? My pop's is in jail and my mom's a heroin addict. It's in my blood I guess. What about you? What's the story with your folks?”
I shrugged. “I don't know. I have no idea who they are. They gave me up instantly. All I know is that I was apparently born in New York. Hell, even the copy of my birth certificate has 'unknown' listed under my parents names. I didn't even think that was possible. They literally just dropped me off on social services doorstep when I was a few days old.”
“Shit,” was his only response.
“Yeah, but it's fine. I don't need them. I'll make it without them.”
“Damn straight Bonita,” he said as he grabbed my hand and we walked back inside.
************************
Later that night I rested my head on my pillow and tried to will myself to fall asleep.
I wasn't used to the bed or the house.
I missed Mrs. Tompkins. She was the only family I've ever known.
I rolled over and heard the sound of something being thrown at my window.
What the hell was that?
I got out of bed, went over to the window and opened it.
“Alex what are you doing?”
“Shhh. Sneak downstairs and come outside. I want to take you somewhere,” he said with a mischievous grin on his face.
I smiled and nodded my head.
I threw on a pair of shorts and a tank top and crept down the stairs.
I had never done anything like this before.
It was both scary and refreshing.
I met Alex outside. He took my hand and we began running.
We didn't go far, maybe a half a mile down the road.
I looked around, it was beautiful, calm, and tranquil.
“This is my thinking spot,” he said, as we walked down to the docks of the lake.
“I love it. Thanks for bringing me here,” I said, as I lifted my head and watched the stars.
“So you're starting school on Monday huh?” he asked, as he looked straight ahead at the water.
“Yeah. I've never been to a real school before. I'm a little nervous.”
He stared at me in disbelief. “You've never been to school before? Shit, the boys are going to have a field day with you," he muttered.
“I've never had a boyfriend before either,” I said looking down.
“Now that I find really hard to believe.”
“My old foster mom was really strict. She was a very kind woman, don't get me wrong...but I had to follow certain rules."
“It sounds like you missed out on some pretty important stuff,” he said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes.
“It's fine. Can't miss what you never had, right?”
“Can't argue with that Bonita.”
I blushed as he reached for my hand.
“If any guys give you any trouble, you be sure to let me know. I'll take care of them for you,” he said, as he intertwined his fingers with mine.
I couldn't even think about another boy at that moment...just him.
I giggled. “I don't think they will...but thanks."
“Besides, why would I want another guy around when I have you?” I whispered.
“Don't tease me Bonita. It's not nice,” he said before he takes a drag off his cigarette.
“I'm not teasing you. Why would I do that?”
He strokes my cheek with his thumb. “Fuck, you're so innocent Dev. I'm the last guy you should be hanging around.”
Why was he playing so hot and cold with me?
He was the one teasing me.
I stood up then.
“Okay...Fine. You know, I really don't understand what your problem is. You bring me here, act like you like me. Then, you tell me I shouldn't be hanging around you.”
He cocked his eyebrow and smiled before he stood up.
“Where did that come from descarado? I like it.”
“I don't know what that means.”
“It means sassy...brazen. It's pretty sexy actually,” he whispered as he leaned in closer to me.
“Are you going to kiss me?” I asked, hoping I didn't ruin the moment.
“Do you want me to kiss you Bonita?”
“Yes,” I breathed.
He softly brushed his lips across mine as a surge of excitement came over me.
It was the best moment of my life.
Chapter 18
I wake up in a cold sweat. I haven't had a flashback in years...especially one about Alex.
I look over to the side of the bed.
Tristan was nowhere to be found.
Figures.
Maybe last night was all that this was after all?
I hold the sheet against my chest and look down at the floor. I was hoping to spot my dress and book it the hell out of there.
I came up empty...perfect.
Just when I was thinking about making a makeshift dress out of his Egyptian cotton sheets...he walks in.
“Good morning,” he says while giving me a sexy smirk.
I raise my eyebrow as he points to the bag in his hand.
“You did agree to breakfast, remember?”
I smile. I never thought that Tristan would be bringing me breakfast in bed...after a night full of the best sex I've ever had in my life.
“Good morning,” I say as he hands me a cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin.
I eagerly bite into my muffin as he watches me with amusement.
“Shit, I'm sorry Tristan. I'm getting crumbs all over your bed.”
I watch the corner of his lips turn up. “Dev. It's fine. I have housekeepers. Besides...I love the sight of you in my bed.”
My mouth hangs open. I must have died and gone to heaven.
That's the only way to explain how any of this was happening right now.
“Last night wasn't just a one time thing? I mean...should I be expecting a topless french woman parading around in leather panties soon?" I question, my tone sarcastic yet very serious.
“I thought we talked about this last night? I want you Dev. I will say it until I'm blue in the face. The only woman who will be parading around here in panties is you. Actually...no. I prefer you parading around in nothing," he says as he sits down beside me on the bed.
I stare at him in awe. “So we're really doing this?” I ask.
“Yeah. We're really doing this Dev,” he says before he presses his lips against mine.
I sink into him and wrap my arms around his neck, letting the sheet around me fall.
I hear him utter a low groan as he brings his hand up to cup one of my breasts.
I sigh as I hear the sound of my cellphone ringing.
The loud, obnoxious, pop-song let me know that it was Aaron calling.
“Ignore it,” Tristan mumbles as he lowers his head and takes my nipple in his mouth.
I couldn't. Now that I finally let myself have friends, I refused to be one of those women who let a guy come before her friendship.
No matter how much I currently wanted to make my guy come.
My guy...Tristan...mine. Holy hell.
“I'm sorry I have to take this,” I say as I reach across the nightstand and put my phone to my ear.
“Hello.”
&nbs
p; “Dev? Heck woman, I've called you like 10 times already,” Aaron says.
That flashback dream really did a number on me. I never even heard my phone ring.
“Sorry. I was...”I bite my lip as Tristan's head dips beneath the sheets and nestles between my thighs.
I quickly put the phone on mute. “Tristan what are you doing?"
“I'm having my breakfast,” he answers, his voice raspy with desire.
Good lord...
“Dev? Hello, are you still there?” Aaron says on the other line.
“Um, yeah I'm here. Sorry, I was...”
“You were getting fucked good by Prince Charming...weren't you?” Aaron asks.
“Yes...Oh yes,” I say, as Tristan begins tracing the alphabet over my clit with his tongue.
“Wait a minute...are you still with him?” he then asks.
“Yeah,” I answer.
“Oh my god. Tell me everything. Come over in a little while. I'll make lunch, you bring the wine.”
I should be mortified, but I don't have time to think about that right now.
Tristan had just found my favorite letter- 'T'. Go freakin' figure.
“T. T. T...oh my fucking god...T!” I scream, as my legs turn to jello.
“Okay, fine. Forget the wine...I'll make us some tea,” Aaron says before I hang up on him.
Chapter 19
“Wow Dev, you need to get screwed by Prince Charming more often. He really makes your art come to life. This is captivating," Aaron says as he hands me a cup of tea.
Aaron was right, art really did have a way of expressing your feelings and emotions.
I take a step back and look at my creation.
Alex's ebony eyes with flecks of gold stare back at me. I had managed to capture the first time I saw him on canvas.
I thought Aaron and Nathaniel had gone to bed already.
“I'm sorry. I didn't mean to stay so late. I got lost in the moment.”
“Dev don't apologize. I told you, anytime you need to paint you are more then welcome. You have talent," he pauses, “So, who is this?”
“He was my first love.”
Aaron nods his head. “You miss him?”
I wince. I honestly don't know how to answer that. There really was no right answer to that question.
