“I’m getting pizza,” Eliza said, blithely ignoring Adrian’s barb. She held out her hand. “And since I’m sure you got a nice raise with that promotion, you’re paying.”

Adrian handed over his credit card with a grin. “Have them send a few pizzas over to the Alpha’s compound too.”

Alpha Connoll had generously offered them an apartment in the sprawling building he owned, but Tate wanted a little more separation between himself and the Pack. Tate had taken a room there while he’d waited for Adrian to move out east, but he didn’t want to share space with anyone other than Adrian now. He wanted more privacy than a Pack compound could offer.

Eliza opened her mouth and then scowled. Adrian’s eyes lit up.

“You were going to say I wasn’t the boss of you, weren’t you? But I am!” He was practically cackling. Tate felt amusement thrum through their bond, wrapped up in warmth and satisfaction. Adrian had been worried his family would resent him for moving, but here they were, helping him put together his new life with Tate. It was more than either of them had dared hope for.

Eliza huffed and flounced out of the apartment as Thomas, Adrian, and Tate roared with laughter. It felt good to simply be happy, to let himself enjoy a moment without worrying when the other shoe might drop. Tate might be stubborn, but he wasn’t stupid. Once he realized what he’d found in Adrian, he’d given himself over to it wholeheartedly.

His father had hung over his entire life like a pall, and making the decision to step out into the light had been scary. But Kenya was right—he was more than his history. And he wasn’t going to let his past cast a shadow over his future anymore.

Right now, he and Adrian were building a life in New York. But who knew what the future would bring? Maybe Adrian would want to go back to his Pack in Portland at some point. Maybe they’d hate living in the city and find some quiet little town to settle down in.

It didn’t matter where they ended up, as long as they were together. Camp H.O.W.L. had been his refuge for a long time, but it was time to move on. For the first time in his life, Tate had a home. And it was a person, not a place.

BRU BAKER got her first taste of life as a writer at the tender age of four, when she started publishing a weekly newspaper for her family. What they called nosiness she called a nose for news, and no one was surprised when she ended up with degrees in journalism and political science and started a career in journalism.

Bru spent more than a decade writing for newspapers before making the jump to fiction. She now works in reference and readers’ advisory in a Midwestern library, though she still finds it hard to believe someone’s willing to pay her to talk about books all day. Most evenings you can find her curled up with a book or her laptop. Whether it’s creating her own characters or getting caught up in someone else’s, there’s no denying that Bru is happiest when she’s engrossed in a story. She and her husband have two children, which means a lot of her books get written from the sidelines of various sports practices.

Fangs and Catnip by Julia Talbot

A romance worth fighting for—tooth and claw.

Solitary vampire Fallon Underwood gets all the social interaction he needs being the silent partner at the Dead and Breakfast B&B high in the Colorado mountains. Change is hard for Fallon, so when his business partner Tanner suggests hiring a new manager for the inn, he’s adamant that they don’t need help, especially not in the form of bouncy werecat Carter Hughes.

Carter is a happy-go-lucky kitty, and he loves the hospitality industry, so the D&B ought to be a great place for him. He falls for Fallon as soon as he picks up one of Fallon’s novels and begins to woo the vamp with gifts. When Fallon finally succumbs to Carter’s feline charms, the results are unexpected to say the least. Their mating will have irreversible consequences—for their bodies and their hearts.

The Gryphon King’s Consort by Jenn Burke

  Love takes flight.

The sudden death of the Gryphon King throws the kingdom of Mythos into uncertainty. Luca, the Crown Prince, rushes both his coronation and an arranged marriage to a man he’s never met. Eirian is young and idealistic, and while both of them want what’s best for their people, their philosophies couldn’t be more opposite. While Luca believes in honoring tradition, Eirian is determined to infuse modern values into their kingdom of magical creatures. When given the choice between his crusade and loyalty to his husband, Eirian makes a decision that might ruin any hope of the marriage succeeding.

Still, Luca is committed to making their union work, and that means forgiving his brash consort. But when Eirian becomes the target of a conspiracy that puts his life in danger, Luca must act fast—or lose the chance to explore their burgeoning love forever.
