Dive In Deep Page 37

“Oh shit,” Khloe shouted and dove under the table.

The food fight waged on until there were wet noodles clinging to the walls, and we were both sporting rice and noodles and the stray bit of pork in our hair. I held up my hand. “Mercy. Mercy!”

She laughed. “Fine. Look at this mess.”

“Is it safe to come up?” Khloe asked from under the table.

  “Coward,” Sade called out.

I stood up, noodles falling off me as I did. “Damn, this place is a mess.”

Sade was giggling. “Yes, it is.”

“You two are children,” she scolded, her hands on her hips as she surveyed the damage. “I cannot believe you did that.”

“It’s just a little rice and noodles,” Sade said.

“I’ll clean it up,” I said.

Sade shook her head. “No, I will. I started it.”

I laughed. “Yes, you did. You threw an egg roll at me.”

  “You stole my dumpling.”

  “Don’t do it,” Khloe warned.

“It’s safe,” I told her, moving to pick up the garbage can.

Together, Sade and I started the long cleanup process while Khloe chomped on the cookies, making sure to point out the various scraps of food we had missed. She was ever so helpful. It was remarkable how much she could eat and look the way she did.

With the cleanup done, Sade and I retired to the couch to drink some wine. We talked about our days and what we were planning for the weekend. We went to bed early, anxious to lie next to each other. It was nice being able to just hold her. Sex was a little awkward with Khloe so close. I knew it made Sade uncomfortable, so I didn’t press it. Holding her body next to mine was just as satisfying.

  Sometimes.

I reminded myself we’d be living together soon, with no roommates and no housekeepers to walk in on us. We were going to christen every room in the house.

  I already had grand plans.

  Chapter 60

  Sade

I had showered last night after the impromptu food fight, and I had thought about sleeping through my alarm, but I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t function without having a shower in the morning. At least not function enough to earn a paycheck. I groaned, rolling out of bed and rubbing my face.

There was something to be said for retiring early and mooching off my wealthy husband. If only I could tell that one part of my brain it was okay. It was the part that insisted I be tough and strong and able to stand on my own two feet. That was the part dragging my ass out of my perfectly warm bed with my perfectly handsome husband in it.

  “Already?” Trent mumbled.

  “Yes. I have to shower.”

In a move so fast Flash himself would have been impressed, Trent’s arm snaked out and he grabbed me, pulling me back into bed. I gasped with surprise before bursting into laughter.

“I think you should stay in bed with me,” he growled.

I kissed the tip of his nose. “If only I could.”

  “You can.”

  “I can’t.”

I pushed him off me and jumped out of bed before he could grab me again. I walked into the bathroom and turned to close the door but was stopped by his big hand.

“Do you need to use the bathroom?” I asked, wondering why he didn’t just use the other bathroom.

He slowly shook his head. There was a heated look in his eye as he stepped inside the bathroom and locked the door behind him. “I need to shower.”

I opened my mouth and then shut it again. I turned to look at the very small shower and then back at him. I did a little mental imaging and didn’t see how that was going to be possible.

  “I don’t think we’ll both fit,” I said.

“Trust me. I’m going to be pressed up so close against you it will be like we are one.”

“Oh,” I gasped, a shudder of desire snaking down my spine.

He reached for the tank top I had worn to bed and pulled it over my head. His mouth came down over mine, telling me exactly what he wanted. I groaned, feeling his erection pressing against me through the briefs he was wearing. I reached down to stroke him before I pushed his underwear down his hips. He stepped back and shimmied out of his underwear.

I reached inside the shower and turned on the water before taking off my panties. He stepped behind me, kissing me on the neck and cupping my ass. “God, have I told you how much I love your ass?”

I laughed. “You may have mentioned it once or twice.”

His hand snaked around to my front, sliding over my belly and down. I groaned, putting my head back as his mouth kissed a trail of hot kisses over my flesh. His hand worked between my legs, one finger parting my folds before pushing inside.

A gasp escaped my lips. He moved it deeper inside me. “Move,” he whispered.

  My brain was muddled. “Hmm?”

  “Move. Get in the shower.”

I waited for him to remove his finger. He didn’t. I took a small step forward. His body was pressed against mine, his erection hot and heavy as it pushed into my flesh. I took another step forward. His finger was deeply anchored inside me. His thigh nudged me forward. I stepped under the spray of warm water and barely felt it.

All of my focus was on what was happening between my legs. With his finger still moving inside me, he reached down and grabbed my hand with his free hand and pressed it against the cool tile shower. I instinctively leaned forward, giving him better access between my legs.

He expertly rubbed and stroked until I was orgasming. He didn’t let up. The water ran over my heated body, doing nothing to cool down the heat blooming inside me. He slid his hand over my ass, gently squeezing. He slowly pushed his way to my core, pushing himself inside me.

My hands slid down the tile wall. He was fully seated inside me. His body pressed against mine until my breasts smashed against the cold tile. It was a stark contrast to the heat I felt inside me. I cried out, sliding my chest over the wall. His arm snaked around my waist and tugged me against him.

  “Oh god,” I groaned.

  “Shh,” he whispered.

  “I’m trying,” I whimpered.

He shifted, plunging deeper inside me. His thrusting speed increased, driving me against the wall of the shower. I pushed backward, using my hands to shove off the wall.

“There you go,” he encouraged. “Harder.”

I growled, pushing my hips back against him. He thrust hard, shoving me against the wall again. The water sluiced over my body. The connection between my ass and his groin was slick and wet and heightened the entire experience.

He pulled out, spun me around, and yanked me close to his body. My breasts pushed against his wet chest. His mouth closed over mine, sucking and nibbling on my tongue and lips. He stepped forward, my back against the wall. He reached down, grabbed one leg, and hiked it up to rest on his hip.

Once again, he found his way inside me. The feeling of being filled was breathtaking. I closed my eyes, absorbing every ounce of his essence. He was all man. He held my leg up, driving into me over and over. I struggled to keep my balance. He didn’t let up. He was slamming against me with such force I feared we were both going to fall to the floor.

His hand reached for my ass and squeezed hard. He groaned. The sound was powerful and exciting and exactly what I needed to find my peak. I cried out, my head going back, the water hitting me directly in the face.

  “Trent,” I said.

He growled next to my ear. “Fuck me. You feel so good.”

“Let go, baby,” I whispered. “Let go.”

He groaned, his body stiffening as he dug his fingers into the meaty flesh of my thigh, my leg still suspended on his hip. He jerked and slammed his mouth against mine. I swallowed his cries of ecstasy. He dropped my leg and wrapped his arms around me, hugging me close to his body.

His hands moved up to smooth my wet hair back from my face. “We should probably get you washed before the hot water runs out.”

  I smiled. “Do I
have to?”

“Absolutely not. We can go back to bed and get nice and dirty again.”

  I giggled. “You’re tempting.”

He kissed my forehead and stepped out of the shower. “I’ll leave you to it.”

I quickly shampooed and conditioned my hair. I had barely gotten the conditioner rinsed out before the water started to turn cold. I hoped Khloe wasn’t planning on showering anytime soon. She would not be happy with me.

I dried off before wrapping the towel around me and stepped into the bedroom. Trent wasn’t in the room. I quickly dressed, realizing I was running a little behind after my very long shower. It had been a very satisfying shower. Best damn shower I ever had.

I smelled coffee the second I opened the bedroom door. I hoped Khloe wasn’t up yet. I knew she would know what we had done, and she would give me shit about it.

It was just Trent in the kitchen. “I made you a cup for now and two cups for your mug.”

  “Aww, you’re so thoughtful.”

“I try. I made you a sandwich and put in a few other things for your lunch as well.”

I watched as a piece of toast popped out of the toaster. He quickly buttered it, cut it in half, and handed it to me.

“You take such good care of me,” I said.

“I like to take care of you.”

I sipped the coffee. I didn’t really need the jolt of caffeine after what had happened in the shower. I was wide awake. I marveled at his bare chest and had a flashback to the shower. I couldn’t resist touching him.

“I love your chest,” I breathed out the words that had been floating through my mind.

“I guess we’re evenly matched. I love your ass, and you love my chest. We can each have what we want.”

I laughed, stepping against him. He reached down and gave my butt a good squeeze, proving his point. I kissed his chest.

“Thank you. I have to get going. Are you going to be working out of the condo all day?”

“Yes, that’s the plan. I’ll get the arrangements made for our return tomorrow morning, unless you want to go tonight?”

I grimaced. “Tomorrow would probably be better. By the time I get home and we get back to the airport, it’s going to be seven or eight.”

“I agree. I’ll have him ready to fly by eight.”

“Perfect. Goodbye. I’ll see you tonight.”

I gave him a quick kiss and snatched my lunch bag from his hand. I dashed out the door with my to-go cup in hand and my lunch in the other. I loved that he was thoughtful enough to make me lunch. I drove to work, riding the high of my very exciting morning.

I deposited my purse and lunchbox in the breakroom and took a few last sips of coffee before I had to go out to work. Holly came in behind me.

  “Good morning,” I greeted her.

She raised an eyebrow. “Uh, good morning.”

I took another drink from my mug and put it on the counter. We all had our special mugs lined up on the breakroom counter.

  “I’m headed out,” I said.

“You look very happy to be here,” she commented.

I shrugged. “I’m happy to be here.”

  “Why?”

“We’ve had this discussion before. I like my job. I’m happy to have it.”

  She studied me closely. “Bullshit.”

  “What?” I asked with surprise.

“Bullshit. That smile on your face, that weird little happy glow emanating from you? You got laid.”

I could feel myself blushing. “Stop it. Someone is going to hear you.”

“Newsflash, everyone has sex. Some of us don’t have it as often as you, I wager, but we sure as hell wish we did.”

  I laughed. “Stop.”

  “You’re a lucky woman.”

I walked out and headed to my workstation. I knew I was lucky. Every damn day, I thanked my lucky stars. In a way, I wanted to brag about how great Trent was in every way. I wanted to praise his sexual prowess. Then there was that part of me that wanted to keep it to myself. I didn’t want anyone to know how good he was. They’d all want him.

“You’re doing it again,” Holly whispered.

  “What?”

“That smile. You seriously look like you just won the lottery or killed someone and got away with it.”

I burst into quiet laughter. “That’s a very odd statement. I assure you, neither happened.”

“I know. You had good morning sex.”

I leaned over. “Shower sex,” I whispered.

Her mouth dropped open. “I hate you.”

“Good shower sex,” I hissed. “Make your toes curl good.”

She shook her head. “Where is that sweet little girl that I met the first day?”

“Oh, that girl got left behind. I’m still sweet, but I’m a very satisfied woman. I’m not that girl anymore.”

“Oh, you got it bad,” she cooed.

  “I got it good.”

  Chapter 61

  Trent

I stood in my office and stared at the built-in bookshelves filled with books and an assortment of other things. Just things. They were things that held no actual sentimental value. There were filing cabinets and a few pictures of friends I had made in the Army.

Packing wasn’t something I was great at. I had never been the guy that needed a moving truck to move. I was a guy that packed my shit in a few bags and maybe a box and then was on my way. I had never been overly attached to anything materialistic. Life was too short to get caught up in stuff like that. I valued people, relationships, and of course, my business.

As I looked around the room and the stack of empty boxes waiting to be filled, I had a thought. I would just buy new. I would start fresh. It sounded like a much better option than packing. We could spend the day at the beach and not have to worry about wrapping breakables or labeling boxes.

“What are you doing?” Sade asked, coming in behind me.

“I’m thinking about leaving it all here.”

She laughed. “Your books and legal documents and everything else?”

I nodded. “I can buy more books.”

“And the legal stuff and the things you cherish?”

I shrugged. “I’ll have copies made.”

“Trent, are you having second thoughts about moving?”

“No! Not at all. I just don’t want to pack.”

She burst into laughter. “It’s not that hard.”

I looked at her, raising both eyebrows. “Says the woman that took weeks to unpack.”

  “That’s different.”

  “Is it?”

“Yes, come on, and I will help you.”

“I do plan on coming back here. Won’t it be easier if this stuff is here?”

  “No. Quit stalling.”

I groaned. I had the urge to stomp my foot and put up a serious protest. I didn’t want to pack. I wanted to do about a million other things besides packing. Instead of complaining, I snatched a box from the pile, moved to my desk, and started tossing in files and documents I probably should have with me.

“Trent!” Mira’s voice echoed down the hall.

  “In here!” I called.

She appeared in the office, looking around at the boxes we had packed. “You’re doing good.”

“What brings you by?” I asked.

“I thought I would help you pack,” she said with a smile.

“Thank god,” Sade declared. “This man has a lot of stuff for a man who claims he has nothing.”

  “Hey,” I protested.

  “You do,” she said firmly.

The three of us moved from room to room, packing things I could use in the new house. As I began to really look at my furnishings and decorations and various other things that made the house mine, I realized I did have some attachments. Some of the pieces of art and little figurines were from places I had been during my time in the service.

Each of them held some sentimental value. I had collected little things here and there an
d realized I did want them with me. Partly because I wanted to share that part of my life with Sade. I carefully wrapped and placed the items in the box.

My room was easy. I decided to take half of my wardrobe, leaving the other half in my closet. After that I took a break.

“I’m starving,” I announced, coming into the kitchen where Sade and Mira were sipping on glasses of wine.

“Do you want me to make something?” Mira asked.

  “No. Let’s go out.”

Mira smiled. “I’ll finish up here and be on my way.”

“No,” I said quickly. “I’d like to take you out for dinner as well. Consider it my thank you for helping out today.”

She looked at Sade. Sade smiled. “Please do come. You’ve been a huge help.”

Mira smiled. “Okay. I would appreciate a nice dinner.”

“Great. Let me give Bentley a call.”

I left Sade and Mira in the kitchen. I could hear them chatting about the new house. I loved how well they got along. I thought of Mira like a sister. An older sister. She’d been with me since I’d first moved into the house.

Bentley promised to be at the house within the hour. I went back to my room to change clothes and grabbed the envelope I had prepared to give to Bentley. He was a proud man, but I didn’t want to leave him without a job. He was too proud to ask for charity, and few others would overlook his missing appendage. I wanted him to be taken care of, and I was hoping he would still be willing to act as my driver when I returned for business.

The ladies were still in the kitchen, carrying on about the new fall fashions. I stood at the doorway and listened to them before stepping inside. “I hate to interrupt this exciting conversation, but Bentley is waiting.

Once we were at the restaurant, we were quickly seated.

“I’m going to miss you,” I told Mira.

She smiled. “It’s going to be very quiet around here.”

“We’ll be making some return visits,” I said. “Often.”

Sade looked a little surprised. “Often?”

“Monthly at least. Probably more frequently in the beginning while Gabe gets settled and Richie takes over the daily operations.”
